finished veilguard. i enjoyed it but it was also real bad. the highs were really high the lows extremely low. the only people they really made this game for was solavellans and it should've stayed as an ao3 fic

Never been a fan of people trying to shape the Golden Order into conservative Christianity. Reading fics where they talk about women needing to be "traditional" or seen but not heard, when the figurehead of the Order is a woman who has waged loads of wars, had two husbands, makes a point of examining her faith rather than submissively accepting it. Seeing posts that seem to say the GO is villainizing the use of sorcery, a way of deriding the carians, when one of the greatest champions of the Order himself studied sorcery of his own volition, and married perhaps the greatest sorceress ever known. There's nothing to indicate the GO ever had a beef with the practice of sorcery, and it's not like they shuttered Raya Lucaria after the union of the Moon and Erdtree. Cringing every time someone describes Fundamentalism as the "thoughtless extremist" wing of the Order when it's supposed to be about taking a scholarly approach to the examination of the laws of causality and regression.

Idk. It's just, there's so many reasons to be skeeved out by the GO, and it exists within a fantasy with a totally distinct history from our own world. While there are obviously influences from a wide variety of real-world sources on the mythology and world of the game, it's not a direct copy of reality. It's lame to see sth so full of opportunity for interesting world building from fans just turned into a watered down copy of what they despise in reality.

There has got to be an analysis waiting for that moment starting at 2:05 in the Mr.AFFECTiON MV but I don't currently have the words to do it. Just....something about Nagi rushing happily towards the light, Mitsuki breaking out of his chains, Tamaki fighting his way to/against it, Sogo breaking his fragile glass image/reflection that trapped him inside, Yamato having to go through the fire, Iori walking through a cold and icy path, and Riku staring at his own reflection....does that resonate with anyone?

At this point, nothing will get me to click out of a fic faster than bad characterization of Han Solo. You made him a deadbeat burnout alcoholic asshole? Groundbreaking. Congrats, you fell victim to his cool guy act and then made him worse!

And it's always made 10 times worse by the fact that in these fics, he's almost always still married to Leia? You think Leia Organa is marrying that guy??? You're gonna keep her married to that guy??? Be for real.

i always say that there kinda Is a sliding scale with types of autism (observationally), and the best way i’ve been able to describe it is “hypo” (lack of temp/pain sensitivity, nonverbal/less verbal, hypoemotional) and “hyper” (more texture etc sensitivities, more verbal, more overt stims, more emotional)

anyways just came to the epiphany that sliding scale of Autism Characters Of All Time can actually kinda be represented between spock and dale cooper

I love taking little vacations in fandoms. like it’s not a fandom you have the intent of really dedicating yourself to, but you take a few days and really tour what they’ve got going on. read some fics and webcomics and au tags, etc. get a ‘best of’ glance and the pure Enthusiasm they’ve got going on w like a. ‘this isn’t for me I think, but i like watching you have a good time w it’ mindset. 10/10 highly recommend, great enrichment

Melli in the gear station family au is like that one lovingly overbearing family member who comes to see you at your job and tell you that you're doing a great job, except he needs an excuse to tell Akari & Rei their doing a great job so part of his getting lost is intentional and part of it is genuinely accidental (hc he has an absolutely terrible sense of direction and gets lost in a straight line, Zoro from one piece style) so when they find him and help him he's like "you two are SO GOOD at your jobs, the BEST employees here, honestly" and like half of the ten most recent gear station reviews are from Melli praising Akari and Rei.

Ingo and Emmet ask them if he needs to be banned from the subway and the younger twins are like "no, he's fine. Embarrassing but he means well and it's all good." (They have a hunch that Melli Knows Them which is why the kids are fine with hanging around him and helping him, but also all three of them are so at ease with each other that they had to ask just to Make Sure everything was fine even though they were Pretty Sure there was no issue)

still thinking about twin-like jades but in cql... esp now that kk has the show where he plays twins... it might be just me, but while i Think that kk could sell both lxc and lwj, wyb's face is much more... youthful? when he's :-| and a king of microexpressions, it works, but i wonder if his wyb self wouldn't shine through if he played lxc as well. welp! we'll never know! but man i wish someone would draw that
