especially with ballister being visibly physically disabled, that was already at the forefront. and when nimona talks about shifting, how if she doesn't it's like 'an itch that won't go away', that sounds so so much like a stim or a tic. nimona is the blatantly unashamedly disabled person who everyone is afraid of because she isn't like other people.

for a general answer tho, its like. most of them take it as a joke tbh? natemare pokes some fun at their interests or their clubs (esp since nate is not in any clubs so welp), how they dont have any other friends than each other despite being so popular, just throws the usual general natemare unpleasantries around at them, ya know. the usual

but yeah for the most part they would take it as a joke. like “hahaa nate very funny pls stop that anyways as i was saying” and just. move on from it? they dont take much, if anything, he says to heart, i mean nate is known kinda as a jokester anyways tho with natemare its really turned up to eleven with that stuff and it often gets personal but like.. at the same time with the boys he never gets that far? cause nobody pays enough attention to him in that regard when this stuff happens and usually when natemare strikes, the groups are together - so they have each other to stand up against him which kills his mood pretty fast, as he doesnt have much fun when people dont get upset with him, so he finds a better target elsewhere

its also pretty well established that nate rarely talks about this problem? pretty much the only one that knows no matter the route is caddy - he has seen what natemare can do to people and hes gonna stand up to his friends so eventually he learns the truth. its not a thing nate is very open about and everyone who knows doesnt really tell the tale forward either so its like. if someone knows, its really rare, but like in caddys case, he has a full permission to knock nate out cold if he identifies his behavior as natemare. i feel like for the most part people who knew about this would have the same permission, or if they werent comfortable with doing it themselves, they know to locate caddy to do it for them lol

Regardless of how you feel about Nate right now you got to admit his character is one of the best written ones in the entire show. 

We can’t forget that Nate is not in a good place and a lot of his dark side most likely stems from having an abusive father. While Nate’s dad doesn’t hit him (as far as we know), he is mentally and emotionally abusive. Nate has ALWAYS felt like nothing since he could remember and his dad makes sure he remembers constantly that he’s terrible in his eyes.

I cant imagine the lack of love he feels and the not belonging. 

Sometimes trauma makes you do horrible things. (And sometimes good things happening to you, like a big promotion to assistant coach, can trigger your trauma) Doing horrible things does not always mean you’re a horrible person. Nate is in his own dark forest. I think he may continue to fall and I HOPE the writers give him a powerful arc in season 3. He has really been one of the most uncomfortably relatable characters in TV. 

Every bad thing you wanted to say or do out of envy out of not feeling appreciated Nate has done in a weird human non-glamourous way.

I can’t wait to see the finale and write more! I am expecting that we’ll see him only lean in to his darker side more. I wish they would do this a bit more with Ted. Since we HAVE seen that he has an aggressive side (first therapy session esp) But I’m loving what they are doing with Nate, even if its wrong and bad of him. Nick Mohammed is FANTASTIC and I think he should get an emmy for this season.

hiiii today's reminder is i finished Doyoung's drama because i have zero self control. and i thought it would be a cut-and-dry romcom but. oh boy was i wrong. anyway i really thought he'd be the archetypal romcom boy, but the script clearly only cared about the one character and everyone else was pretty one-note without any real motivation or plot. but the way Doyoung took a character that was written as an emotional/moral punching bag with zero personality and a single three-second flashback, and turned it into a real guy that i felt for? i am so fucking impressed. i thought it would be the classic idol acting debut where i mostly just admired their face but like. he was actually good. i can't wait to see him act more, esp as something other than a romantic lead, i feel like he'd have really interesting takes on characters

Hii, I mean I had no real intention on really watching it. I'm just really picking about what I watch, meanwhile I annually watch Jersey Shore, it's embedded in my memory. So my taste in television is not intellectual. Nonetheless, I'm not surprised he's a great actor with lots of depth. I think if he went in Kyungsoo's route where he has more serious, slightly darker roles. I think that'd be great and I'd actually watch it. I either watch comedies from the 90s & 00s, trashy reality TV, vintage & french movies or really dark shows and movies, like slightly mentally scarred me dark that I have to sit with it for a few days. Like Euphoria is actually so dark when you sit with it. I was so surprised when people joked about it. like it's so dark esp the first season, Kat's storyline was scary close to my life I cried. Like the scene with Maddy, Nate and the gun. And Ashtray like. How was fez and Lexi the main thing people focused on. The only joyous part was Maddie beating Cassie's ass, oh God Rue's withdrawals and breakdown when they flushed the drugs from that drug dealer lady. Sorry I just went on a whole unrelated tangent Sorry. But yeah I Iike watching dark things. If Doyoung ever does a really dark role I would love that. Like Yuta's movie I'm all over that. I'm definitely watching that. I can't wait.

Fans - esp fans of color and LGBTQIA+ fans - have constantly talked about how minority characters get sidelined in favor of the white LI faves. And no, this is not an issue specific to Open Heart, although that is the specific focus at this very moment, it’s something that’s been happening with a lot of their books, especially in recent years. To say that you didn’t see racism or act like people complaining is a new development is racist and at best, willful ignorance. 

Open Heart has a lot of characters of color, yes, but they also sidelined all of them in favor of Ethan and his storyline. If Raf dies like we’re all expecting him to now, where was the good writing in this? I’m legitimately wondering here - even if you don’t want to look at the problematic aspect of it, how about just from a writing standpoint. If a character shows up maybe once every few chapters, is with this random other person who we never heard about before, then tells MC he’s leaving and then dies....where exactly is the emotional payoff there? Deaths need to have meaning and impact and people who loved Raf will be upset but would it be written well? With the little amount of scenes that we’ve had with him, whether he was our LI or not? Why is it that out of LIs who’ve died, it’s Jax, Lily, and Raf (or possibly Kyra, who’s still a black woman)? Why is there not any option for Adrian to die? Or Ethan? Because it “makes sense” in the narrative that PB wrote? 

Esme is our intern and yet we’ve barely got to mentor her - when Ethan was our mentor, he was around us constantly, and stans defended it because it made sense, right? Why wouldn’t our attending be with us all the time? We’re learning from him! So why haven’t we been sharing a lot of time with Esme, haven’t been given the ability to bond with her more? Why do Bryce and Jackie (if she gets to show up) have storylines maybe every other chapter when PB remembers that they have one, why do we barely get to see Elijah and Sienna and have to go through tension with Aurora again, while Ethan is in every single chapter with more screentime and more diamond choices than the other LIs combined? 

We know all about forced LIs - Beckett was consistently called out as popping up all the time, Nate would have way more scenes in Sunkissed than Samson or Eliana. It happens consistently throughout multiple books and each time I see fans defending it as “relevant” to the story, while also simultaneously losing their shit if their white fave wasn’t featured prominently in one chapter. If you’re one of these people, I really want you to ask yourself - would you say the same thing if this was Beckett not showing up? If Ethan got killed off? If Adrian got killed off instead of Jax or Lily, would you have the same response? 

PB was also called out for making their antagonists to MC be  women - particularly dark-skinned black women - Xanthe (Acor), Ellen (WT), Aurora, twice (OPH), Victoria (RCD). This is a trend and an awful one. I haven’t even gone into how their covers have changed to be more white & straight over the years (even over the course of multiple books in a series, where you’d expect fans to realize they can keep their LIs, so why can’t we have Lily or a non-white Adrian on the cover of the BB series??), or how characters like Nadia or Lily are hated for being “annoying” and “cringey” while characters like Maxwell with the same personality are praised and loved. Or how even with MOTY making the simple of change of pointing out that Vanessa could be homophobic/racist based on MC, that people didn’t understand why she could be perceived that way. 

Fans have always been talking about this, and this has been a problem for a very long time, and to act like this is some new thing is disingenuous.

if this is about the post i made about jules the other week and peoples criticisms about her though, imo: i do not think jules is a bad person. both within and out of the context of euphoria. i think it’s the whole point of euphoria that most of the characters (minus nate and cal) have good intentions and are often trying to be good people but fail because of their past traumas. i think jules was written rather poorly this season and was also barely in it other than to affect rue’s story, but i do also think that if you look at her decisions within the context of her special episode you can really see how much she struggles and why she does the things she does. like i think it’s a bit weird how much hate she gets when she was barely in the show this season and the worst thing she did was cheat on rue. obviously, cheating = bad. but then there were people like fez and ash murdering people or rue basically emotionally abusing her family, yet they’re everyone’s favorite characters? i think people are a little too blinded by their love of rue as a character (and don’t get me wrong, i love her too) and they see jules as the villian of her story when really, from the other perspective, she’s just another victim. but because this story is mostly told from rue’s unreliable narrator point of view, you don’t really get to see that

got to s5 of my classic Leverage rewatch and I think one of my issues with Leverage: Redemption is it seems like a continuation on early seasons Leverage, vs where they took it in later seasons, esp s5? I think Hardison is the only one that was okay, but as a result of following the "he's aiming to run his own crews" character arc/goal he was kinda written out (well, also Aldis Hodge's availability, right?).

But like, later seasons and esp s5 made this whole thing of the trio learning new skills/honing them to make them able to run without Nate & Sophie, and like Parker was set up as the heir to the throne, basically. But then Leverage: Redemption's reunion... feels more like earlier on, like when they broke Nate out of prison and were like, yeah we took time off being the good guys? Like the thing about Parker not stabbing or having to be coached back into social skills or grifting skills just feels so earlier seasons, like the Iceman job.

And the way they do Eliot and the womanizing thing just feels flat and flanderizing, the thing is, Eliot made comments, but I think there were less as time went on, and the women we end up seeing him connect with are fleshed out in their own rights, so they're actual characters vs just Eliot's conquests? Like the lady from the ValueMore episode, she has a life and a mission and a deal outside of being someone Eliot randomly makes comments on. But also the thing is, old Leverage is how many years old? And like... you're gonna have Eliot, as an older guy now, in new Leverage, in 2021, make comments like this about women? Like.. really? It just doesn't seem well considered to me, or like... the care wasn't given to do the character work, vs focusing so much on plot.

And again, the villains in og Leverage just feel more real, even when they're doing what the team wants. They feel like they have motivations and flaws which drive them the way the Leverage team leads. Whereas in the new one, everyone just feels flat and allegorical, and their behavior feels more plot-driven than character-driven. The museum guy is a good example, and that developer lady too. She just felt cartoonishly flat in a way that, like, the gold lady or the cheerleader lady in og Leverage didn't.

I mean, maybe someone will speak up and say "yeah, real rich ppl rly are just like that now," and then I'd be like... well I'm not sure I like it as far as compelling story telling, but. sure, okay. My thing with this, tho, is it feels like a socmed rich ppl thing or influencers would act like that, but for ppl who are supposedly running corporations? And having to deal with business documents and legal and shareholders? It just... doesn't feel right, idk. This may be a case of like, real death vs stage death - even if modern real rich ppl do in fact act like that/are so one-dimensional, it doesn't, for me, make for good story telling.

like.. outside of the teasing of a romance with astra (i stand firm that they can both. do better.) the only thing behrad has going for him is that he’s a fucking toker. like i get it. we get it. he smokes weed. literally they have the whole ass thing with the totem to explore with him or his relationship with nate/the rest of the legends given we lost zari 1.0 and he’s Been There, but instead they keep talking about him getting high. like the last time he had a personality moment was when he decided he’d try and stop sara from getting abducted.

secondly, zari tarazi my literal beloved my light and my stars her personality has been reduced to being “john’s girlfriend” and then to “behrad’s sister” because literally without john being there she got written off for the time being and it’s [zari vc] so trag. 

we liiittterally saw so much of her and what she could be in that minor arc she had in s5 with sort of figuring out her place with the legends (she hasn’t exactly found it as we can see) in that... wow i think it’s literally john who she told about her insecurities (ESP when compared with zari 1.0) and the like and like, nothing was? really done with that? and like i don’t even mean the ins and outs of ... whatever being a social influencer is but like, idk! that moment in 6x03 where she didnt want to answer her mom and then went ahead and told her mom what she wanted to hear and while Yes that does count as an episode where she was developed a bit more it ALSO revolved. around her relationship with john hgghgs and like we’ve YET to see her properly wield the totem and her whole relationship with zari 1.0 has! so much! potential! like. zari tarazi has issues! i would like to see them. 

and then them TOGETHER like. it was SUCH a big point for 1.0 that behrad was gone now that they have zari (even if it is 2.0) WITH behrad it’s like. well yea theyre just there now its not like this sibling relationship has had weight ever  wdym. 

legends is generally. not the worst at consistently writing their characters but also they do continue to be a show on the cw. so trag. 

this is obvs not a diss to the actors ms tala and mr shayan are obviously fucking killing it and looking sexy as hell while doing it

I’d like to talk about Nathan Drake and how I think he’s gay (and other things)

I will preface this with the fact that I have not yet played Lost legacy (and I’m not likely to play golden abyss...), and I also have not interacted much with interviews/fan theories/fan analyzations or anything like that. I’m kinda just typing my opinions out. I’ve just played the four games and thought about it a lot. 

I would love it for people to interact and respond-- I’d love some second opinions on anything I post. This post won’t get graphic, but it will mention inner turmoil and canon-typical violence. (and like, I’m talking about the marriage a bit too)

First of all

This is just my homely opinion, but in the first Uncharted game, Nathan Drake is some kind of a douche. Uncharted 2 is such an upgrade in several ways, and that includes an upgrade in Nathan’s character. I won’t rant too long, but I am certainly glad they fixed all that. Drake was an asshole who only cared for treasure, and he barely even flinched at Sully’s death and was ready to “beat sully’s ass” upon rescuing him. But whatevs, I won’t criticize too much since it was the first game and they might not have had the characters pinned down yet. A rough start to one of my favorite game series, and one that I will pretty much disregard in this post. If this seems harsh... I’m sorry. 

The Marriage between Elena and Nathan

We should all rename Uncharted Everyone is a dick to Nathan and Nathan is sometimes a dick to Elena

If you’re into mystic messenger and you read my only other post on this blog, you’ll know that I have... a couple thoughts on love and what it all means anyway. I want to start this off by saying I love both Nathan and Elena very much! They are truly great characters that I admire and adore. Despite this, their relationship just isn’t something I can believe in. A lot of their relationship progress is done in between games, which kinda makes the audience a little unable to gauge like, what the fuck is going on. 

somewhere between Game one and two, the pair is dating. By the time we get to Uncharted 2, though, it’s clearly and on-again-off-again kinda thing. We also meet Chloe, Nathan’s.... pal from the past (?). He risks a lot to save her, but I get the impression that the feelings he had for her were not as serious as the ones he has for Elena. I know it was supposed to be presented as a love triangle, but it just didn’t feel like it. Nathan and Chloe both kinda seemed like they weren’t at all interested in pursuing each other seriously. I honestly kind of appreciated this; Instead of the cliche fight between the women, Elena and Chloe seemed to get along in the end, despite some tension. 

Between the second game and the third game Elena and Nathan got married (1)(wait what?) and split up again. I don’t know if they were actually divorced or just separated, but the point is that they aren’t together by the time the third game begins. Finally, between the third game and the fourth game, They are living the domestic lifestyle. They both have legal jobs where they don’t have to kill anyone and they can make it home for dinner. Seems perfect.

Or at least, it would seem perfect if I thought it would last at all. Nathan hasn’t really had a significant relationship with any woman like. ever? (2). On-again-off-again means that they have to go off again at some point. If you pay some attention to dialogue it’s obvious that it’s Nate that breaks it off each time, or he at least he initiates it. When he lies to Elena in the fourth game, she admits that she almost didn’t come to save him. I have a shit ton of empathy and let me tell you that dynamic drove me buckwild I almost couldn't stand it. When Elena confronts Nathan in the hotel room and Nathan sent both Elena and sully away, I wanted to scream. (3) (what are you doing Nate these people love you)

It is also in this scene that we are reminded that Elena doesn’t know about Sam-- at all. That is... an insanely huge part of Nathan’s past, and he just never brought it up? Do they talk about anything at all? For many of Nathan’s formative years, he had to lie about his identity (and likely other things), so I get why Lying would be a tough-to-break habit for him, but Elena is his wife. Just how well do they know each other?

The on-again-off-again dynamic is not stable enough for a serious relationship, and certainly not a marriage (4). And like I said earlier, Nathan is the initiator in the break offs each time. What is he running from? A very supportive wife? I think it’s more than that.  From an outside viewpoint, Elena seems like... the perfect wife for Nate. She is supportive and she’s pretty much ready for action. But for some reason, Nate wants to leave her out of his adventures (5). I don’t think Nathan dislikes Elena; I think Nathan just isn’t romantically interested in her. Trying to force himself into a marriage because he knows that’s what charming guys such as himself are supposed to do, right? (6) Him forcing himself into a relationship he doesn’t want would make sense for him to feel a lot of disconnect. He spends a lot of time trying to get away, not because he truly dislikes Elena as a person, but because he doesn’t understand why he doesn’t feel as into her as he thinks he should (that sentence was a mouthful). 

I will say that, as a story, uncharted has been pretty mean to Elena. It is a story so thats not problematic or anything, but I do hope she can find what she needs. She needs someone to support her as much as she will support them, and she needs someone who will offer some stability. She likes Nathan, but he isn’t very suited to the life she wants/ 

Nathan Drake a Psychopath?

Yeah, I get it. Nathan kills hundreds or thousands of people and he doesn’t even feel bad about it, which might make him a psychopath which might explain his  behavior. I have some groundbreaking information to explain how he kills so many people without the guilt crushing him and that is that... this is a bideo game. bidya games be like “kill people” and you just do it. Nathan Drake could certainly have some mental health issues, but I don’t think the combat portion of the games should be considered when evaluating his health. His character as it is written has empathy, even going as far as attempting to save Marlowe in the third game. Combat is just expected in games. Although it might have been neato dorito if the game got into how Nate was coping with all that killing, I think we can just say “its bidya games” and move on. 

Dad? Papa? Father??

I already hate this section of the post, but If I was (shitty bitch) Freud I would point out the fact that Nathan uh Defo has some mom/dad issues, and suddenly the Beautiful, capable, caring, morally gray Victor Sullivan swoops in to be Nate’s New Dad ™ and it would be normal for Nathan to have some weird feelings for Sully. But whatever that’s just Freud's take on the matter (although I won’t deny that the Drake’s prolly got parent issues). moving on. 

Internal Turmoil

Nathan Drake throws himself in fatal danger and puts himself in incredibly difficult situations that have a tendency to just get worse. And he keeps doing this. This alone looks like a man just wracked with internal conflict. It would make sense for him to go on these physically taxing expeditions for treasure if he was insecure in his sexuality. Why would Nathan Drake be insecure though?  He’s charming, smart, strong, handsome, and funny. It’s not like he has to beg to get laid. He has no reason to feel this insecurity-- unless it was men he was interested in, not women. 

I don’t think It would be a stretch to suggest that Nathan “I never had any parents, really” Drake would have some troubles with learning how to navigate his own emotions. By the time he meets Dad Replacement 6000 (aka Sully), Nathan is already like, 15. That boy needed a parent years ago. 

When Uncharted introduces Chloe to us in the second game, Nathan really just doesn’t seem to be into her. The scene in the hotel-- he was just kinda going along with it. He “kinda goes along with” a lot of stuff. To me, he seems like someone insecure, not only in his sexuality but also his ability to make choices for himself. When a woman makes a move on him, he just kinda... goes with it. Elena comes back for him even though he breaks it off repeatedly. I’m sure to him this is the support he desperately needs. So logically he should reward her with uhhhhhh marriage? 

Harry Flynn

yeah he’s a bastard but don't even act like this scene didn’t have some gay subtext  “buy me a drink, sailor!” that's flirting babes. Nathan was so happy to see Flynn. 

Cassie Drake

whether Nathan is gay or not-- I still don’t believe in his marriage to Elena. I really love that Naughty Dog stuffed uncharted 4 with as many ladies as possible-- all the way down to Nathan’s sweet daughter. But seriously I hope Cassie’s upbringing is as cushy as it seems. Like I hope her parents are stable enough. 

But also like I have so many mixed feelings about her existence. Kids aren’t relationship bandaids (... or at least they shouldn’t be). 

I still have a lot I want to say about Nathan Drake (esp when thinking about Sam). The Uncharted Series has really done a lot to subvert some tropes in the adventure-type genre (imo anyway). And I’m not gonna scream and yell. I just think there's a lot of evidence to support Gay Nathan Drake. Of course, This could legitimately all be projecting. I love Nathan’s Character a ton!

4) I’ve been rewatching Bojack so I am reminded of the bojack/pc dynamic (although its not a perfect parallel by any means), and in the show it’s clear to anyone that while bj and pc depend on each other, the game they are playing isn’t good for either of them (esp not for pc). Elena and Nathan can harbor affection for each other all they want-- but Elena can’t do this anymore. 

5) “wuh wuh he’s protecting her” im sorry but that’s bullshit-- she can hold her own, and he’s pretty quick to come to terms with her tagging along when she pops up each game. 

6)IT’S POSSIBLE that i’m just projecting and i just wish he was gay, but like, seriousliy? sersreoopsily? I have at least SOME support for my claims.

Olaaa 😁

How are you guys? :)

I’ve been stressed out and busy these past days at work. I’m about to finish this batch of trainees next week but I’ll be starting another batch on Jan 20 :( I only have a week to rest and finish all the training docs and evaluation then I’m off to another set of trainees. I feel so burned-out huhu. Training four new hires in a month, making sure you coach each of them thoroughly while squeezing the limited time you have are just exhausting emotionally and mentally. Wala pa yung other admin stuff na important pa din for me to do on time because other employees will need it to also accomplish their tasks.

Last Tuesday I got teary-eyed because of exhaustion and frustration. We were discussing this difficult topic and I’ve been explaining it repeatedly, it’s getting more and more tiring I almost lost my patience. So I stopped and let them have a 15-minute break. I understand and admit na our topic was really hard (even our experienced sales can’t immediately apply and understand it. Kahit ako sumasakit ulo ko dito whenever I join sales college training as a sit in. Haha) and I don’t want to lose my cool because I saw that the bagets were sincerely trying naman. 

While on break, I talked to God and asked for His rescue because during that moment I felt like I can’t really do it anymore. When I was thinking about my resignation more than a year ago, I actually felt that I’m really tired of doing my job. ‘Di dahil toxic yung trabaho. I’m very much okay with my relationships at work and yung work load is fair enough naman. I just want to have a break from having an 8 to 5 job. Yung hindi siya madadaan sa VL. Haha. I want to do/pursue something else tbh. Lalo I think kaya napagod ako lalo emotionally because I feel like I’ve been waiting for God’s answer/go signal for a long time. Sometimes we have this tendency to be impatient kay God and sa promises nya. Sorry Lord. :( Haha. So whenever I feel this burn-out feeling my instinct tells me to run to God. I ask for help because I don’t want to behave or make any decision out of what I currently feel. I know if I don’t recognize and arrest that burn-out feeling, sooner or later it will poison my thoughts and will eventually manifest in my actions and speech. I try to be proactive because I care about the quality of my job and the relationship I have with my trainees and officemates. If I were to resign, I want to leave on a good note naman and more importantly, I want to resign in God’s time so I won’t have regrets din. I also try to seek God because I know it is only Him who can help and anchor me by being reminded of who He is and His promises. Band-aid lang yung magrant tayo sa social media account natin, or sa friends, family or lover natin, yung kumain tayo sa labas, or magnetflix or magbabad sa entertainment, yung pag-inom hanggang sa malasing, yung magtravel sa malayo or bumili ng matagal na nating gustong bilhin na bag or sapatos. Sometimes we look for true rest and comfort in the wrong places when the answer is just waiting for us.

Remember Elijah when he was overwhelmed by his situation and problems, God told him to eat and take a nap. Haha! Cute na cute ako sa Bible story na ito. It’s so real and basic and intimate. We know that God provided rest and strength to Elijah and it kept him going. We can pray and humbly ask God for strength and rest if we feel like we are being overwhelmed by what’s happening in our lives. Walang hindi kayang ibigay si Lord sa mga anak Niya. And if it’s His will, His providence will surely follow. 

Now I just hope that I’ll be consistently rested from within hehe and that God will sustain me, esp during my last few months at work. 

As I close this random chika haha I’d like to encourage you with what’s written in Psalms 59:17, it says

“You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.”

We can always rely on God and on His might. Don’t ever hesitate to sincerely seek Him, with a heart that is willing to obey His will and to humbly ask for His help. He is able! Just obey and have faith! It will make sense eventually. Trust Him. =)

Who is your favorite character in 2?: rory williams (is anyone surprised)

Who is your least favorite character in 1?: nate heywood

What is your favorite episode of 4?: critical film studies, because 1) jeff/abed is my otp for LIFE and you can rip them out of my cold dead hands; and 2) the dialogue and pacing and music was just perfect-- it really made you focus on what was being spoken, and though the body language in this (esp. for jeff & abed’s dinner) was superb, the monologues were really the selling point

What is your favorite season of 5?: probably the last one, even though the whole “m.k. v sunny” conflict was a bit poorly done.

Who is your favorite couple in 3?: canon? i don’t have one. in general? paul/alec

Who is your favorite couple in 2?: rory/ten. yes i know that’s the “wrong doctor” but i think deeply about ten’s loneliness and how ten needs someone down to earth and i think about how rory is the most down to earth person in the world who will see through all his bullshit and then i lose it a little bit

What is your favorite episode of 1?: marooned maybe?? it was nice to see rip and all his measures as captain, and the backstory with him and miranda and the time masters was just perfect... it’s this or the magnificent eight, but only because the parallels between rip and ray made me cry. nobody gets the other better

What is your favorite episode of 5?: the last episode really made me cry in the way that it wraps up sunny’s journey, and what could have been

What is your favorite season of 2?: i’ve only seen series 5, 6, and the first few episodes of 7? i liked the first episode and the finale of s5 best, but i think overall i enjoyed 6 the most because of all the rory content. LOLLLLLLL also rory/amy was a bit more bearable when they were married

How long have you watched 1?: s1-s3 only, and i haven’t even finished the last episode of s3 because i couldn’t take it any more lol

How did you become interested in 3?: arthur darvill. i really went in just to see his face on my screen because i was missing him and then ended up getting sucked into the most... haunting? well-written? storyline? full of twists and turns and very, very human writing

Who is your favorite actor in 4?: danny pudi pulls abed off perfectly every time

Which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?: into the badlands for sure. legends was only really good to me in s1 as i’m not a fan of the direction they took the tone, doctor who isn’t something i’ve watched enough of and i don’t enjoy rory/amy enough to really appreciate the series i’ve seen, and into the badlands is just peak worldbuilding and smooth action and glorious character development and a story with the spirit of one my favourite tales of all time so. also #asianprotagonist

Which show have you seen more episodes of - 1 or 3? i guess legends because it has more episodes than broadchurch? but i watched broadchurch glued to the screen; i paid less attention to legends, especially in s2 when rip was gone and s3 where rip’s writing was tossed into the toilet. also in general s3 was like... i don’t even know why they didn’t just start s1 with the absurd tone of it so that i wouldn’t have to feel so disappointed

If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?: who i WANT to be? probably annie. who i’m most like? god, it’s sad, but it’s probably jeff

Would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?: the tone is way too different, so in terms of television crossovers, no. in terms of rp though? god i’d pay for it

Pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple?: rip/behrad except it’s post-brainwash s2 rip, change my mind

Overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5?: i liked into the badlands more for the exceptional worldbuilding and lore that just expanded more and more as the series progressed, both physically and in terms of the fantasy aspect. broadchurch was strong in series 1 but kind of flounders in 2 and 3

Which has better theme music, 2 or 4?: i gotta go with community... but i really like the “i am the doctor” track and listen to it on repeat quite often

@aceemilythorne ‘s tags on this reblog are objectively the best. i think a lot about dan/nate & canon clothes sharing (i don’t remember all the instances of it, but that bit in 2x06 where dan’s tied to that statue in only his underwear and nate’s wearing 50 different layers, like a grandfather? don’t tell me they DIDN’T share clothes then. i bet nate gave him a sweater at least) and i was thinking about like. blair & vanessa having a similar clothes-sharing dynamic, esp at nyu, where they’d sometimes just idly wear each other’s coats, or borrow hair clips (& later, blair can get more adventurous & wear v’s earrings, hahah) and

THE IDEA OF LIKE. DAN REALISING BLAIR AND VANESSA ARE DATING BECAUSE VANESSA IS WEARING BLAIR’S HEADBAND... literally unparalleled, unrivalled. i LOVE that.
