Escorial..
.. Mikor megérkeztem Madridba feljött 2003. Vagy 2004. nézegettem a térképet, kutakodtam az emlékeimben.. . Valamennyire emlékeztem a kerületre, a sarkon lévő kis térre ahol kávéztunk sokszor.. Escorial. Th+nk ( think positive)
When I arrived in Madrid, 2003 or 2004 came to my mind. I looked at the map, searched my memories... . Escorial was the name of the street where Su lived. And when I was in Madrid, too. I somewhat remembered the district, the small square on the corner where we had coffee many times... Google couldn't find it either. Streets that look familiar are buildings, but it was really a long time ago... I wandered up and down, returning to the same neighborhood. It's not true that doesn't have it. I gave up after a while. and I sat down to drink a coffee in a small square. I felt the vibe.. but I lost it, and let it go.. I thought this would be enough, so I should have it this like twenty years ago this is now the Escorial Street for me, and this is the square from 2004. Or from 2003. The next day, when I came out of the Prado, I typed it into Google again and it came up! I set off and quickly arrived at the same small square where I drank my coffee the day before. And on the corner there was the street sign.. Escorial. Memory is a strange thing. A few days later, over a beer, Su and I laughed a lot about this.. And in our laughter, in our beer, in our words, autumn 2004 was included. Or in 2003. Th+nk (think positive)

Libraries Around the World: San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Spain
The Library of El Escorial
Tumblr media
Image courtesy of Jose Maria Cuellar's Flickr stream.
This library is located in the Royal Seat of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, the historical residence of the king of Spain. Phillip II was responsible for adding the library and most of the books originally held within. The vaulted ceilings were painted with gorgeous frescoes, each representing one of the seven liberal arts: rhetoric, dialectic, music, grammar, arithmetic, geometry and astronomy. These days, the library is a World Heritage Site, and it holds more than 40,000 volumes.
