being neurodivergent and constantly being surrounded by other neurodivergents is such a vibe. like,,,
*different and conflicting forms of stimming* "can you PLEASE stop pacing for one moment?? i'm trying to hear this song i've had on repeat for an hour and you keep distracting me"
"where the FUCK are my keys?!?!?" *30 minute group search*
"that's your masking smile. what's wrong??"
*floor time*
*body mirroring/doubling as the only way of getting anything done*
"let me infodump about the Peruvian Nazca Lines!" "okay, but then you have to let me talk about Korean phonetics."
*abandoned hyperfixations as far as the eye can see*
"i'm in hell" "you can do this. just try not to tap your foot. it's called exposure and response therapy for a reason! it's going to be uncomfortable." "i'm going to scream"

Howdy! Seeing as I am no longer part of the SLP community, and how I've been seeing all of the hate going on for Jontont Frost over Wyrmguard Secrets, and the fact that they seem to celebrate my departure from the SLP server by stating "finally the evil beast is gone." as someone showed me via twitter
Let me inform you: the evil beast is not gone. Why? Because Jontont Frost is STILL there.
He and I had a lot of problems. What had initially began as a friendship turned into a nightmare for me. A nightmare I sat quiet on for a very long time. Even with alllll the shit that got posted about me being a bully, etc.
There were many times that I wanted to say something publicly, and in quiet there are a few who know the full story, but I stopped myself because I worried how it would hurt friends, but now it's kind of like... Not having said something has damaged so many things so much more than it would have if I had just said something to begin with.
Hi. I'm the person who played Finnegan Quill. I, to my knowledge, don't have a lot of trouble with people on Moon Guard, except for a few. Jontont is one of those few.
The guy has so many issues, and this is coming from someone with a lot of issues themselves, that it was extremely difficult to deal with them. Prior to things getting too bad, this is how things progressed:
We became friends through RP, I started talking to them more oocly. They seemed super chill, no problem, but as time went on, I found out what kind of person they are. They constantly put themselves down and would get very self deprecating, and me, I am a sensitive person, and my heart bleeds for this sort of thing, so I did my best to tell him he wasn't all the things he called himself, that he could make friends if he just put himself out there. That everything would be fine if he just stuck to his character and separated himself from it, that he wouldn't need to worry about things if he didn't take what happened in character personally.
I wasn't the only person who had to/has to deal with him. I won't name names, but I'm hoping they manage to get away from him sooner than later. Jontont Frost uses emotionally manipulative tactics to draw people in. He stalked me in game despite the fact that I had him on ignore. He still felt the need to put his nose in everything.
I made the heinous mistake of erping with him when he was still in an ic relationship with Elrodore Tate. Yeah, Finnegan went there, and I really wish he hadn't, because that put me in a spot to where Jontont wanted to know everything I was doing. Every single minute of the day. When I told him I needed a break, what did he do? He started to insult himself, call himself useless, friendless, a whole lot of other things, to which I came back to tell him "hey, don't talk about yourself like that. You'll be fine. Just be your best self" etc. Eventually I realized this was a tactic to keep me there, and hell did it get exhausting.
I've got a lot of problems. 100% no doubt. So I didn't need his problems too, but I still tried to be kind. So things still continued, and I grew exhausted again, and again told him I needed a break, but again with the self deprecation he came, and then when he did say "ok, I'll leave you alone for now." He would come back like 5 minutes later pretending nothing had ever even happened.
His stalking, cause that is what it was, grew so bad that even after I ignored him after I had a one sided talk with him, I went to the SLP mods to get it taken care of, because we were both existing in the same project, we worked out an agreement that we both would ignore each other--- FINALLY, because even though I had him on ignore on both Discord and WoW, that still didn't stop him from turning into a cat and watching me in stealth, but he still can't seem to keep his mouth shut about me, so here I am.
I have an extensive history of his stalking/manipulative/inappropriate behavior on documented file which is what I presented to the project moderators as proof of my issues with him, and I'd share it happily, but if I did that, I'd end up dragging other people into things who I don't particularly care to drag through the mud, dm me if you want, though I don't see this going anywhere. I can already feel the goblins on my back for this.
Fuck you, Jontont Frost, and your little Tobias too.
They're both horrible people, I hope others come to realize this sooner rather than later.
Jontont's behavior was gross and traumatic. Every time I seen a white Worgen or the bear form he uses, it made me sick. I couldn't stand to look at them. I was always alarmed when I would be out doing content and someone with the same druid forms would show up alongside me, prompting me to check if it was him, because I felt like I would never get away from him and he would always follow me. If I'm sounding over dramatic, lemme just say, it was THAT BAD.
More to come later.
Spoiler, he decided to tell me about how he masturbated to the ERP we did afterwards, while watching porn. Why did I need to know that? I didn't. He should have kept it to himself. But there he goes crossing IC and OOC again.
There are others who could back things up, but I won't call on them unless they want to come out.

Follow-up/(Soft) Inquiry on FCs
So I asked if there was a repository of FC info somewhere but hadn’t gotten much back. This is long but i wanted to lay it all out! Thank you for reading and/or sharing! I have been sort of keeping my eyes open for a while for a place to call home, but it is EXTREMELY important to me that the fit is the right one. I always feel terrible if a guild or FC is not right for me and I hate quitting anything.
I didn’t want to come out so publicly on this because in similar fashion I feel terrible saying no to people. There are many fantastic people and wonderful free companies out there, but they may just not be what I am hoping for. Maybe what I want doesn’t exist, I’m not sure, but fit is absolutely essential. Currently I am in a FC I own for various reasons but would leave it and put an alt in there in the event I found a place I belonged.
So what am I looking for?
I want a fc that does REGULAR rp.
I am hoping for scheduled events as well as some pick up here and there.
I want something preferably medium sized.
A FC that has adventure style plots running or will soon start.
The ability to get involved in other people’s plots as well as have people hopefully get involved with some of my own I would like to launch.
Being more familiar with DMed events, I would love a place that can help me learn a bit more about how non dmed events run here in FF land. I have yet to really break into this fully. I’m sure with some exposure I can be up and running and doing these for others!
A friendly welcoming environment (Yes all of them say this..I want it for real)
An officer core that is PRESENT and INVOLVED.
A fc that supports each other and helps achieve goals.
What am I NOT looking for
Sporadic RP
Time demands. I am fine with some RP event attendance requirement but only if it is not excessive.
Small fc that has few people or few are on regularly
All “slice of life” (I am fine with it and it’s fun but has limits. I want more than just this.)
CLIQUEY (This kills groups more often than not)
Absentee or uninvolved officers.
Bar, Tavern, Restaurant themed. (As a caveat all of these things are fine, I just have no desire to be a waitress, bartender  etc in my RP. These are things I have had to do in real life as a job and I do not want to on my leisure time. I am fine if the FC has that or is involved in that so long as it is not the sole thing going on!)
Anything that is a front for a Yakuza clan, Mafia family, rogues guild or criminal empire. I do not want to partake in evil rp with Vylette.
A “morally grey mercenary company.” There seem to be a lot of these and again, that’s fine, but with Vylette she values doing what is right over what is profitable. It will be a constant source of clashes.
An ERP focused, lewd or constantly sexually charged atmosphere. I don’t mind erp, lewds or some adult talk but when it becomes a focal point for the fc it gets troublesome.
FC with “nudist” members. I hesitated mentioning this because I do not want to call anyone out. I get that we are all adults. That said at times I need to log in from my mom or brother’s place and I don’t want to be roleplaying, get up to snag a drink and get questions as to why naked people are hanging out in the bar or walking around. If you want to be naked or erp, please do it behind closed doors.
ALL dark themes. I like dark themes but not exclusively.
Last but by far not least, any FC that permits or supports racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, pedophilia or rape. I am sure there are other things I could put here but you get me.
What do I bring to the table?
I am better than a pointy stick to the face!
I am a pretty nice and friendly person.
I enjoy helping people and getting involved.
I am an omnicrafter who is generally willing to make whatever you want for free, just snag me the mats.
I am an experienced DM willing in time to hopefully run adventures for folks or help with others plots.
Did I mention I am better than a pointy stick to the face?
I am an entertainer/performer willing to do this for FC events where possible.
I have a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that will not make me money or generally be useful in the real world, but i am told I am funny and entertaining.
Please drop me a message if you think you know of a place I could potentially call home for Vy. I’d love to hear from you and see if the fit is a good one.
if you read this or shared it, thanks!

Real talk tho I’m just so tired of all the negativity everywhere I’m not one of those people who wants everything to be some hugbox where we can’t have complaints and criticisms, where we can’t dislike things, where we turn a blind eye to toxic people and behaviors, where we can’t discuss things the devs could have done better because ew yuck that’s all ruining my happyfuntimes. But some people just bitch and bitch and bitch and always seem to look for something new to complain about for no reason and with no purpose. I’m tired of all the ragging on Balmung about how it’s the “ERP” server or where all the “toxic” people are or that RPers are bad at the game. I’m tired of all the laughing at the Quicksand about how it’s all just ERP and “bad” RP and not where “real” RPers go. I’m tired of constant bitching about how X is just ERP and Y is just cybering. I’m tired of all the bitching about how some character trope is overdone or cliche or cringey or just not to your personal tastes and therefore no one should do it. I’m tired of all the whining about such-and-such is OP or against lore or breaks immersion. I’m tired of bitching about how certain mods are dumb or modding in general is terrible and makes your screenshots “less good.” Who cares what other people do!? Don’t RP with them, don’t interact with them, problem solved! I’m tired of people jumping the gun and whining about the game and the devs in regards to what they assume SE will or won’t add into the game. I’m tired of people raining on the parade of folks who are excited they got what they were hoping for because they didn’t (or even just assume they won’t) get what they personally wanted. I’m tired of folks bitching about how the game is awful because they haven’t added in a thing you’ve been totally content to play FFXIV without having this whole time until you suddenly decided it’s all you need in life. Just chill! The world and this game does not revolve around you! It’s disappointing, yeah, but this will never be the perfect miracle game to have everything you want and historically, SE and the FFXIV team in particular are pretty good about listening to their fans most of the time so cut them some slack, have some patience, and stop assuming the worst. They fuck up sometimes and make the occasional dumb decision but that’s life and that’s capitalism.  I’m tired of people painting entire servers and or all RPers or the community in general as toxic and evil and gross. I’m tired of moral judgments on someone’s OOC character based on what they RP even when they handle the topics respectfully and sensibly. I’m tired of crusades against what consenting adults RP in private, it’s fiction, yeah I might think someone’s incest ERP or futa fetish is really freakin’ messed up but I’ll just act like a normal person by living my life and avoiding them if it makes me uncomfortable. I’m tired of some people finding every single thing in the game racist or sexist or whitewashing or offensive in some way. I’m tired of people whining about how every single interaction they have is somehow awful and terrible and obviously they have no part in that. Get off your high horse, you’re not better than anyone else. Stop with the virtue signaling and get some help for whatever issues you keep projecting onto others. If you hate this game and the entire community so much, unsub! It’s wild to me that people continue to subject themselves to something that not only apparently makes them so upset but also that they’re paying RL money for every month! I know I’m just ironically adding more bitching to the cesspool now but lordy. Games are supposed to make you happy. If FFXIV isn’t doing that, just stop. Stop making yourself and everyone around you miserable.

I used to go around saying that "satan sucks pickup trucks" so I'm sure satanists in Mexico, here, nacos, pochos/Chicanos, vigilantes, as well as both atheist and Christian terrorists and those into pagan beliefs are a problem and even bigger now. I've had problems with all the above. Oddly, nothin much ever happened in Mexico so I suspect other Latin Americans and Native Americans since I've Italian family. They have Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci, and I have ancestors from the Mayflower and some founding fathers as well as Brigham Young and Joseph Smith and British royalty as well as one Scottish Royalty ancestor. No wonder ice cube raps about peons. And I'm related to Mitt Romney and the Osmonds. And Dallen Oaks who isn't popular among LGBTQ activists especially and the current Mormon prophet and Jewish and Muslim ancestry as well. The Spanish Inquisition is rolling on its grave lol especially because England won. Imagine if Spain won? Y'all would be tortured to death. Apparently you DO need to work on your attitude of gratitude. And I'm related to Wyatt Erp and vigilantes night not like that in related to Butch Cassidy and Dillinger. I'm related to scientists, poets, writers etc that are famous and that's only on my father's side. My Sanchez name from both Mexico and Spain is hated for its success and holiness. And my first name, Joseph, is also holy as is Martin. Just saying the evil scum who are deceitful love to mess around and obviously want to get an early ticket to judgement day from law enforcement and the military. And they're mad i worked for the military and almost joined Army Rangers. Yeah, around the time that kicked Noriega in the corn hole. I may have been among those shooting those guys up and jamming out to metal music blasted at a Catholic Church to drive his sorry ass out. I still find that rather amusing. I've met some really asshole Catholics, more than the nice ones. I think that's why. There's even the rivalry between them and the free masonry foundation, the knights templar, of the USA and CIA etc. Catholics aren't gonna forgive them anytime soon. Gangs trying to force Catholicism are the same time as hackers from the 90s in Utah.🤔🧐 (at North Ogden, Utah) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNLIAIOBAmr/?igshid=1miks6qgs86tu

I heard you were banned for a time from wsrp. I heard you were rude to people who had different ideas for certain things. I heard you were dismissive of others based on faction. I heard all these things, but I never once experienced them from you. I can't say if they're true or false, but I can say that from what I've seen myself that you're supportive of people and try to be a good person. I think you're doing your best just like everyone else and I'm glad that I know you.
Oh man. Yes, I was banned from WSRP. It is an EPIC TALE and I’m gonna FUCKING TELL IT in another post. JUST YOU WAIT ANON. IT’S A DOOZY. It was am AMAZING time before the game even launched and that time spawned eternal salt bonds with some of my friends that I’ve known for what….3+ years now? Hot damn.Oh, I am a rude bitch. I’d put big ass vent and rant posts here all the time. I had people tell me they only followed me for my rant posts. I bitched about people who wanted peace and love between the Exiles and Dominion, cause catch me wallowing in that faction conflict. I bitched about straight people who made characters of the opposite sex for the sole purpose to enact their gay/lesbian fantasies cause that fetishizing of sexuality pisses me right the fuck off. I made a nice long vent about people crying about the sexism in Wildstar and how they were full of shit that went viral?? I made Cassian bingo cards which got me kicked from a circle and later got an apology and now it's water under the bridge. I am that person that tells people to take their ERP chat to the Darknest channel instead of WSRP and I have zero shame about any of it.I legit don’t know about the dismissive of faction thing as I play both sides. I love the plucky Exiles and I love the evil Dominion. I love my precious OCs on both sides, even if I don’t write them all up on my WSRP blog. I have certainly bitched about unnecessary faction hate which happens on both sides of WSRP, but I’m not gonna lie. That’s half the reason I stopped playing my Dominion characters as much.I AM A TERRI- Nah. I know I’m not so bad and thank you anon. ♥

US hits at chemical-washed chicken ban
The US will push hard to include politically sensitive subjects such as chemical-washed chicken in a mooted transatlantic trade deal with the EU, Donald Trump’s agriculture secretary has insisted. Sonny Perdue said Brussels should accept production methods banned in Europe to secure the deal promised by Mr Trump and Ursula von der Leyen, theEuropean Commission president. So far, EU and US officials have talked about low-level liberalisation of agricultural trade such as unblocking bureaucratic obstacles to imports of American oysters and other shellfish to the EU, and European sales of apples and pears in theUS. But Mr Perdue said the EU would need to change its food hygiene regulations to address the US trade deficit in agriculturewith the bloc. “You’re not going to get there with apples and pears and shellfish” he told reporters in Brussels yesterday. “There areother things that have to happen.” The intervention underlines the difficulty for the EUandUSin hittingMsvon der Leyen’s target of a deal “within weeks” following her meeting with Mr Trump at the recent World Economic Forum in Davos. The EU is keen to secure a deal to defuse transatlantic tensions, with the US’s aggressive focus on trade policy having shifted from China toEurope. Mr Perdue yesterday defended chemical-washed chicken, commonly referred to as “chlorinated chicken” in the EU. The US uses the technique to disinfect poultry but the EU bans the practice. “We have a very efficient system of poultry production and we are able to export to every other country in the world,” he said, arguing that US farmers now used a chemical called peracetic acid rather than chlorine. “Peracetic acid . . . is a great pathogen reduction treatment. You know what it is? It’s vinegar, essentially. To say that’s unsafe or not to be used, we don’t think there’s a basis for thatin sound science.” The EU agriculture directorate did not immediately return a call asking for comment, but the commission and the member states, particularly France, have ruledout negotiatingover theissue in past trade talks. Mr Perdue also denied theUSwas trying to play divide-and-rule with the EU and the UK after Brexit. “Wewouldlove to see trade relationships that have similar policies . . . between the UK and the EU,” he said. So-called “sanitary and phytosanitary standards” became a hotly contested issue in the last broad EU-US trade negotiation, the stalled Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. Brussels fiercely resisted US pressure to drop restrictions on chemical-washed poultry, beef raised with growth hormone and crops produced using genetically-modifiedorganisms (GMOs).
Holocaust survivors and the leaders of Israel and Poland called for a redoubling of the global fight against antiSemitism yesterday as delegations from around the world gathered to commemorate the 75th anniversary of theliberationofAuschwitz. The Nazi concentration camp was the epicentre of the Holocaust, with about 1.1m people, including almost 1m Jews, murdered there. “Today we hear voices which spread hate, on the internet, on the street and in the centres of political power,” Reuven Rivlin, Israeli president, said at a joint press conference with Andrzej Duda, his Polish counterpart. “Our duty is to fight anti-Semitism, racism and fascist nostalgia, those sick evils that . . . threaten to eat away at the foundations of our democracies,” he added. The 75th anniversary is likely to be one the last big gatherings of Holocaust survivors. As well as delegations from 60 countries, about 200 survivors attended. Much of the ceremony was devoted to their accounts of the horrors of Auschwitz, which was set up and run by the Nazis after they invaded and occupied Polandin 1939. Else Baker, whosemotherwas amember of the minority Sinti group also targeted by the Nazis and who was brought to Auschwitz as an eight-yearold in 1944, recalled the long queues in front of the gas chambers and crematoria, where hundreds of thousands were herded to their deaths. “Then the screams started,” she continued. “We saw a large area of open fire blazing. I as an eight-year-old girl overheard conservations like: ‘They must have runoutof gas and so they are burning peoplealive’.” Another survivor, Bat-Sheva Dagan, recalled the humiliation of having her head shaved after entering the camp, as well as having to work there until her hands bled. “There was no dignity, no respect for human dignity,” she said, before asking why the world had not donemore to prevent theHolocaust. The commemoration comes amid fears that anti-Semitism is on the rise across the west, with a number of attacks in recent years. In December, five people were stabbed at the house of a rabbi in New York, while 11 worshippers were gunned down at a synagogue in Pennsylvaniain2018. InGermany,a gunman killed two people and tried to shoot hiswayinto a synagogue in the eastern city of Halle in October during Yom Kippur, the holiest dayin the Jewish calendar. Ronald Lauder, head of the World JewishCongress, said hewasworried the lessons of Auschwitzwere already being forgotten. “It’s happened. That is one of the reasons why you’re seeing this growth of anti-Semitism,” he told the FinancialTimes. Mr Lauder added that as the number of survivors of the Holocaust dwindled, it was all the more important to teach coming generations about what had occurred as well as to do more to fight hate speechon theinternet. “Auschwitz is a beacon of where antiSemitism can lead,” he said. “We can’t rewrite history, but we can be much more forceful today.”
Yesterday,Mr Trump denied personally telling Mr Bolton, his former national security adviser, that hewanted towithhold aid to Ukraine until Kyiv complied with his demand to investigate former vice-president Joe Biden. The comments came in response to a New York Times report that Mr Bolton had made the claim in an upcoming book about hisWhiteHouse tenure. However, Mitt Romney, the Republican senator from Utah and former presidential candidate, said that Mr Bolton’s assertionwas reason to call him as awitness in the Senate impeachment trial, and that it was “increasingly likely” otherRepublican senatorswouldagree. “It is increasingly apparent that it would be important to hear from John Bolton,” Mr Romney told reporters yesterday. “I think at this stage it’s pretty fair to say that John Bolton has a relevant testimony . . . I think it’s increasingly likely that other Republicans will join those of us who think we should hear from JohnBolton.” The Democrats will push later this week for another vote in the Senate to authorise callingwitnesses. If they fail to get a majority— which requires them to win over at least four of the 53 Republican senators— the trial could end before theweekend. ButMr Romneyis among a handful of Republican senators seen as most likely to vote in favour of allowing new witnesses, a development that would prolong the trial and thwart Mr Trump’s hopes of a speedy acquittal in the Republican-controlled chamber. Susan Collins, a Republican from Maine who has also said she would consider voting to allowwitnesses, said yesterday that the reports about the book “strengthen the case for witnesses and have prompted a number of conversationsamongmy colleagues”. While Senate Republicans scrambled to address the new claims from Mr Bolton,MrTrumplashedoutonTwitter. “I NEVER told John Bolton that the aid to Ukrainewas tied toinvestigations into Democrats, including the Bidens,” Mr Trump wrote in a series of tweets. “He never complained about this at the time of his very public termination. If John Bolton said this, itwas only to sell a book.” The assertion by Mr Bolton — who claims he was not fired but resigned — undercuts the argument Mr Trump’s defence team is making: that there was no coercion campaign linking the aid with theinvestigations. Mr Bolton’s claims have put Senate Republicans in a difficult position. Over the past four decades, Mr Bolton has helped advance the views of Republican foreign policy hardliners, a group that has bristled at Mr Trump’s takeover of the party since his2016 election. If Mr Bolton is called to testify in the trial, it would force many Republicans to choose between alongtime party stalwart and a president some view as an interloper. The White House says the withholding of $391m in military aid was unrelated to a demand that Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky announce a probe into Mr Biden and his son, Hunter, who had served on the board of aUkrainian gas company. Mr Trump’s impeachment trial entered its second week yesterday with the president’s defence team continuing to present theiropeningarguments. Republicans earlier voted to reject calls to allow witnesses but left the door open to a later vote after opening arguments concluded.Democrats are particularly keen to callMr Bolton because he has first-hand knowledge of various elementsof theUkraine scandal.

10 Business Success Tips You Can't Ignore!
hi folks welcome back to the chip break series on machining entrepreneurship and shop operation topics thought it would be great to kick this series pack off with this list that I've not only found really inspirational but I like this list because it actually gives some really specific direction both for operating your business in your shop and thinking about new products and new ventures if you want to weigh in on other chip break topics that you'd like to see click here for the card over to the NYC CNC page we want your input on everything from shop operations to business basics like counting and entrepreneurship so this list looks kind of discovered and warm because it has been behind my desk since I first read it about 00 years ago it was written by a fella named Jay Gould's for a New York Times entrepreneurship column and it was written as a response to what do I need to know to succeed now I really don't like most of these sort of inspirational lists this one though is the exception let's walk through these 00 reasons and think about how they can help you and how they've helped us number one look for opportunities to do something better than just about everyone else so there's some subtle nuances in this sentence but the number one thing is you've got to be good at what you do you've got to be passionate about it and you've got to have the ability to deliver that product with a knowledge base or a passion it's better than just about everyone else you don't have to necessarily be the best you've got to make sure that if you take a step back and take off those entrepreneurial blinders what do people think about the product or service that you're delivering don't ask your family your wife or your friends about what they think of your new idea or your new product cuz you're not gonna get the feedback you want to see not the feedback you're gonna get when you actually launch a product or you deal with real customers number two accept risk as a necessary evil it makes for much less competition risk exists you cannot isolate it you cannot completely remove it business has risk stack the deck in your favor it's one reason why we're a big fan of either no debt or absolutely minimal debt because it completely shifts the risk in your favor you're not worried about the bank you don't work for the bank you're not letting the bank profit off of your work you're building your business and your control nevertheless there is risk there's risk in the form of competition there's risk in the form of executors in your product except that if something is going to happen and plan for it one of the second products I ever brought to market was a GoPro camera mount 0 picatinny rails we basically knew that we were going to get knocked off we knew domestic and overseas folks we're gonna start ripping these off either blatantly or variants of it and in fact the more successful you are the more likely that's going to happen now you can try to pursue things like patents and trademarks but generally speaking is better to out execute but regardless you have to accept that number 0 act responsibly to employees customers and vendors now this is an easy thing to say it's a harder thing to do if no one's looking if no one knows what you're doing are you still happy with the decision you've made and I really mean it this is a difficult thing to do if you've machined a part in as beautiful and there's no problem with it except that one little spot what do you do do you ship it do you call the customer do you ship it and not tell the customer do you remake it from scratch do you call the customer and communicate with them and figure out if it's an acceptable thing that can either be fixed or reworked or left as is minkum how how you want to handle those situations before they occur that way when you're caught up in the heat of the moment you're more likely gonna fall back on the decision and you feel good about in the long term it stinks to remake a part but a day later a week later a month later if you look back on it I bet you youth you will feel good about it similarly with your employees and your vendors I've always believed it's a two-way street yes sometimes it's a negotiation but a lot of times you've got to realize a rising tide raises all ships you're working with your vendors to help them make money so you can make money do they expect good pricing yes but you don't need to browbeat them up when you have a problem with a service like anodizing try to dig into what that problem is rather than just say what so many folks seem to say which is we can't find any good anodized errs some of the most successful entrepreneurs and the folks that I look up to have come up with creative solutions like in the anodizing example let's come up with our own packaging our own processes our own setup sheets for internal and for our third-party vendors to help this become a win-win number for it I've gotten many favors on this list this is one of them goals aren't enough you need a plan you need to execute the plan I hate goals goals are actually the byproduct of long term planned deliberate success focus less on the goal you can think about the goal and you can write it out there and as the long reach thing it's between today and that goal that is what matters that's the execution part give you an example we're thinking about implementing an ERP system right here that's a pretty lofty thing there's a lot of work behind it saying that's the goal doesn't really help me what helps me is to break that down into steps so the first step today in the next hour or by lunch finish your list of the ten software packages that you're considering make the notes of who you knows using them what you heard reputation wise what may be a good fit and just finish that list that's a mini goal that you can then say is done and I've done it really well that way when you come back later to think more about it you've got that grunt work done and you can put on your critical thinking hat and make a better decision it's also tying in to the e-myth revisited where talks about a solopreneur if you're just getting started out you're gonna wear a lot of hats you're gonna be the kind of grunt work person you're gonna be kind of the shop manager and you're gonna be the visionary entrepreneur you've got to balance all of those things and it helps me a lot of times to do that grunt work take a break do do something else then you can come back and review your own work with a different hat on regardless when you think about laying out your goals focus more on the steps that you're going to do to get there and less on the end goal number five you need to fix the plan as you go learn from your mistakes most people don't that's what I love about this list is there so many subtleties in the language of it I assure you they are deliberate part of succeeding in business is doing what others aren't willing to do many people are stubborn or they let their egos get in the way I have come into this crun myself recognize the plans going to change it can be as drastic as recognizing you're in the wrong business when we were first launching strike mark if we were building a other reset rifle target that was all that I wanted was my identity I loved it ends up we were really in the camera mount business because it was the camera mounts that we were using to film our targets those were in demand those were successful that's what we could deliver and a much better volume better margins to really build the business we as humans number one fall in love with our ideas and number two are often unwilling to cut bait or shut down a project because of the time you've invested into it that's called a sunk cost it does not matter how much time you have put into it it matters whether that product remains a viable good product or service to the customer if it's not working change your plan or be willing to shut it down number six do not reinvent the wheel learn from others join a business group we live in the absolute best time ever in the history of mankind to start a business there are so many awesome resources and folks that are willing to help you've got to take that step and I view this very much as a natural filter to entrepreneurship because someone is not willing to hustle to dig into research to learn isn't gonna make it that being said there are so many resources out there it can be as simple as reading books on your own if you're in the United States we've got programs like score many two year and four years colleges we'll have business advisory groups professors who may be in the know on this stuff likewise many chambers of commerce will be a good place to start calling any one of those places will likely lead you down the path to finding opportunities to meet with other business owners or join a business group absolutely do it entrepreneurship can be a really lonely thing and it's a trait about leadership that I think is often under emphasized which is that when you're when you're leading no one tells you what to do so you've got to figure that out and that is not always easy again don't reinvent the wheel we've even got a forum on the NYC C&C; site where folks chime in both sharing their stories lessons learned and asking advice I love that I never want to be too proud than to say I could use some help or I could just use an outside perspective on this issue number seven another one of my favorites make sure the math works I know plenty of people who work hard and follow their passion but the math doesn't work the math doesn't work and neither does the business luckily this one is simple but probably is the biggest downfall of most business startups they simply don't have the ability to earn a profit if you don't have the ability to earn a profit you don't have a business you have that best a hobby at worst something that's going to really be a bad outcome if you start pouring money into it or worse going to debt likewise building a competing product based solely on a better price is generally not a sound business plan what you're really saying is if you have the skillsets and ability to out execute and out deliver somebody who's already an established market player and do so solely on lower margins that's not what successful entrepreneurs do former mentor of mine said something that will always resonate with me which is that when you're doing financial projections there's one thing that's true about those projections they're gonna be wrong and I like that because it kind of takes the pressure off financial projections are just that they're not going to be perfect they're projections but you need to think about revenue ranges and you need to think about expenses and the average person thinks they aren't meaning most people overestimate revenue and they underestimate expenses now you have a little bit more wiggle room the less fixed costs and the west's overhead you have another reason why little earlier you are in the business the more emphatic I am that you avoid fix obligations things like debt number eight make sure that every employee understands and works towards the mission this is more relevant as your company grows but I think it's an important point to tie back even if you're a one or two man job shot machine shop which is what are you selling most of the time when we do work as a job shop what we're selling isn't just the part that gets machined and put in a box and delivered to a customer it's the overall experience it's how responsive were we on quoting how was it just working with this period did we communicate well did we package the product well do we anticipate any problems with the parts or get them feedback if they needed feedback on how the part was designed or the print or the drawing these are very much depending on the type of job chopper work you're doing but just keep that in mind that often the best way to differentiate yourself in the manufacturing world it's not always cheaper it's not always better precision or better service finishes it's the full experience of working with a shop in the best way to think about this turn it think about the vendors and the folks that you enjoy working with versus the ones that you don't think about that vendor where you pick up the phone or shoot an email and you know it's going to go well you know they're gonna help you you know the results gonna go well versus the one who is always late always complaining poor communication don't be that person and make sure that culture is part of your shot as you grow number nine there are going to be difficult times and you need to be resilient whining is a waste of time again an easy bullet point to read harder at one to embrace there's gonna be stress there's gonna be times where it's lonely there's gonna be difficult decisions to make whining does no good there's no room for pity parties the question that I struggle with is how do you handle it when you get into that mindset or when you really are struggling the way I deal with it is I have a list of people and the list changes but it's the people that I look up to the people who are positive the people who have managed to figure things out the people who seem to always have the answers once in a while I'll actually pick up the phone and call them some of them I don't even know what I usually am able to do is I take a deep breath and then I start to think how would Joe or John or Steve handle this problem what would they say if I called them up in my opinion tools of processes like that as an entrepreneur are incredibly important one of the things I like about my the podcast that I do with John grim snow we try to give an accurate representation of what it's like as an entrepeneur meaning it's not all successes it's not always there's really struggles there's really difficult decisions you can talk about them you can ask about how you've promised all those but don't complain number 00 which is my favorite there will be sacrifices work to find a balance so that you don't become a financially successful loser it's not about the income it's about the outcome I'm incredibly grateful for what the trades have done I found this passion 00 years ago we build this into a business ride the chance to do something I truly love to me part of the American Dream is that opportunity to build something to work really hard the way I was raised in my background there just is no substitute for working hard on the flip side some of the people that I look up to and are successful have had that balance I'm also working smart and also recognizing it's okay to not work late every night it's okay to not work every weekend it's okay to go on vacation and I think that's really important I feel really grateful that I actually legitimately love what I do and I'm happy to work whenever because I love it but life's about more than that and almost everyone will still eventually get burned out at some point there's more to life even even for somebody like me there's more to life than hitting cycle start or programming a can part keep that in mind as your long-term goal what are you doing this all for folks I hope you learned something I hope you found this again not just inspirational but the ability to give you some direction as you're moving forward in any sort of a business or entrepreneurial endeavor take care see you soon

I’m going to tell you a story, because I don’t know what else to do with this information or how to process it lmao.
I had some problems finding my place in XIV and its community at first when I started playing at 2.0′s launch and it nearly caused me to quit the game. And a huge portion of this problem was a girl who played a Miqo’te named something along the lines of R’aenah (the character has no doubt long since been deleted or renamed). I started 2.0 with @its-the-val-pal, who had played my character’s husband in our previous MMO, and we decided to reroll similar characters here. We intended for our characters to become romantically involved again, but we didn’t want their relationship to feel rushed or forced, so we waited for it to happen organically, if it were to work out at all. But being new to the game (or, rather, the game and community itself being new), we were trying to make new contacts, and one who’d shown interest in Val was R’aenah. Her character almost immediately proved to be sexually attracted to his, and idgaf, IC is IC and she could have been thirsting for him OOC for all I cared. Our characters weren’t even dating yet. We have no OOC involvement. No skin off my back. At first. RPing with Val quickly became impossible, especially anything that was one-on-one or would help push our characters’ relationship in the direction we were hoping. I was still low level, so we could only (safely) RP in so many places. We both only had so much time to dedicate to FFXIV which didn’t always overlap, and we were both still trying to level. We didn’t have a ton of time to RP. R’aenah began to crash every single one of our RP’s. As soon as she saw us online in the same area, she’d run around until she found our characters and immediately swoop in IC.  Due to the IC dynamics between the characters at the same time, the scene always played out the same. R’aenah would barge in no matter what was happening to immediately try to convince Val to sleep with her and drag him off for sex or other alone time right then and there, and make some jabs at Faye in the process. Val, single and at his maximum horndogness and probably the peak of his sexual frustration, would be intrigued. Faye would be like “wtf are you doing, you’re my bodyguard, you’re not supposed to ditch me to sleep with random women (especially ones being super bitchy to me) while you’re on the job.” And then R’aenah would start hurling insults at Faye for trying to cockblock her, Val would take R’aenah’s side and even join in because as far as he was concerned she was the one putting out and Faye was his snobby employer who kept rejecting him, and Faye would get furious until the situation would escalate to the two of them having a good ol’ Faye roastfest until she stormed off and they could flirt or bang in peace. And it was frustrating. I didn’t really care what was happening IC. But I did care that I couldn’t enjoy RP with my RP partner anymore on an OOC level because it either never happened, or wasn’t fun when it did. Faye was either quickly edged out of any RP we tried to do, or I’d have to sit through an RP of two characters trying to get laid with each other meanwhile harassing my character nonstop, which proved to be not fun RP content after a while, and also made little sense from a meta standpoint because Faye wouldn’t just hang around and endure that. But the source of the problem was IC, and I didn’t want anyone to have to censor or change how their characters naturally behaved, so I kept my mouth shut about my frustrations.  But things quickly bled over into OOC. R’aenah started telling Val things like how he owed her RP, he needed to spend more time with her, he should spend less time with me, he had already been RPing with me enough (even though the reason we had to try to schedule so many RP’s is because we had no quality time RPing together because she crashed them all). He tried to explain to her that we’d been friends for two years, that we hoped/intended for Faye and Val to get together, that I was his primary RP partner, but that meant nothing because apparently some rando with no relation to him IC or OOC trumped that because she said so. I began to realize the things she was doing IC weren’t just her character’s personality coupled with some OOC obliviousness to our space and time together but were part of some weird agenda to cut me out of Val’s RP time so she could monopolize all his character’s time and make sure he never got together with Faye. That didn’t fly for long. We cut ties with her, I told her to fuck off, she called me a bitch/cunt/etc. and said she was quitting the game forever, we’d never see her again, yadda yadda.  TWO GODDAMN YEARS LATER. A girl joined my FC playing an Elezen. She gave no indication that she knew either of us and did not state in her app that she’d played another character or under another name. She was fine and normal at first. Eventually, one evening I noticed her character had some IC jealousy issues and was acting extremely petty. It sent up red flags for me since 90% of the time I’ve seen that, it’s bled OOC. I wasn’t surprised when I got a message the very next day from the same girl she’d been harassing IC telling me the same thing had been happening OOC. So I sat her down, we had a talk, told her that shit wasn’t gonna happen again, and to my knowledge she chilled out... on that single front. She started dating a dude in the FC, he bought a plane ticket for them to visit each other. Another girl who’d had experiences with the same guy told her it wasn’t a good idea. She immediately broke up with the dude and cancelled their plans to meet. She started mocking the dude to someone in private about how he hadn’t been able to get it up to exchange nudes with her. Thanks, tmi. She met up IRL with a couple other people from the FC and apparently hooked up with one of them. Tmi again, thanks, why do people tell me about these things. She got super jealous and abusive with the person she hooked up with IRL. Despite all these things, she goes on and on about how ERP is disgusting and tries to shame people in the FC who admit to doing it. Drama from all these things ensued. She eventually got kicked for said drama. I’m mean and evil for kicking her for “no reason,” etc. A few months passed. Some ERP-for-gil courtesan starts chatting at me OOC and gushes about my character and tells me how much she wants to RP. We get a few posts in and suddenly it’s too late and she’s tired and has to go right now. She apologizes profusely and promises to RP another time. It never happens. On multiple occasions, she stands across the room from my character for hours with my RP flag up, but she doesn’t approach me and I don’t hear from her OOC about it again.  Courtesan, however, does contact Val one day and says we seem really nice, it’s so weird her roommate really hates us. She tells Val her roommate is the Elezen girl who was kicked from our FC. Weird, confusing, and bizarrely coincidental, but hey. Neither of us hear from courtesan again. She name changed and fantasia’d several times and I’ve lost track of who she even is on my friends list since then. A few more months passed. Tonight, Val and I are reminiscing about some of the really crazy stuff that happened to us when we started playing. “I bet half these people who told us they’re ‘quitting forever’ after they got caught being creepy/jerks are long since playing again with new names or characters.” We get nosy so we look into a few. We dig up R’aenah’s old, long abandoned RPC profile. Lo and behold, it no longer lists R’aenah as her character... but instead, the name of the Elezen who’d stirred up all that drama in our FC. For like a year??? This girl who had almost made me give up on the game yet boo-hoo’d about how I made her “quit forever”??? was in my FC??? that we led??? certainly knowing it was us since we’re playing the same characters with the same looks and names and personalities and same FC name and acronym since launch??? not saying a word about it to us??? acting all buddy-buddy with us both??? coming to me for advice for her problems??? whining to me about all the drama she stirred up herself in the fc??? acting like it was unjust she got kicked for it??? completely hiding who she was all that time??? What the fuck? So that is my story. Balmung may seem to have a huge number of people are who are creepers or assholes. Apparently half of them are the same people just pretending to be someone else. Idk if that’s reassuring or even more unsettling. But, y’know, there ya go. (and I was already a little rattled because today someone asked to join my closed FC and a quick google search revealed it was a girl who’d hated me and been out for my blood in TERA)
SO YEAH, THAT’S MY FUN STORYTIME, HAVE A GOOD NIGHT AND FURIOUSLY GOOGLE EVERYONE YOU MEET
