Honestly…Its Paper and availability

I live in Indonesia (Borneo) so a lot of art supply above school grade are a luxury item here. I am fortunate enough to get various art supplies with a decent quality over the years. (while not your typical “high grade” supply I love them just the same). I only get supply when its on flash sales. I don’t usually use them much (I prefer using school grade Faber castle color pencil, 0.5 mechanical pencil, and a kneaded eraser for my daily drawings)

Now the problem comes in paper- I usually use a non brand A4 Sketchbook. This sketchbook cost around 30k and can last me from 1-3 mounts worth of drawing depending on how much I draw per average. the paper is surprisingly thick and can hold alcohol markers and watercolor as decently as it can.

While decent- it’s not “good”.

If I want to get a dedicated marker and watercolor paper or any special paper- I have to dish out 70k - 200k for just 10 papers alone.

And thats not to mention if they even sell it here at all.

Where I live there is no dedicated art supply store, a lot of people here get their art supply from the bookstore like Gramedia or order online (and thats still gonna cost you much with shipping).

So with all of these problems combine- I literally can’t Afford to be experimental with my traditional art supply because to even replace them is costly. I only use them here and there but I have to preserved a lot of them. This has the unfortunate side effect of me not using them at all.

Tldr : The paper are expensive and not much supply are available here

Raph sighed with a big, swooning smile, setting your paper down on the counter as he finished reading it for the 5th time over. It just made him misty-eyed to see that you, someone so perfect to him, cared so much about him, a big scary mutant. (Even though he’s really not all that scary.)

Rewatching Season 1 made me feel something different...
