Look, i dislike grace as much as the next louis de pointe du lac lover but I do think that a lot of the hate she receives is underserved. Y'all seem to think she was the villainous woman using louis and his fucked up sense of duty towards his family in order to live lavishly and then throwing him aside when he isn't useful anymore or because he reveals himself to be a 'homosexual'.

Like, idk what show we were all watching, but grace has never shown herself to be a homophobe. She's always staunchly supported Louis and whatever fun she makes of loustat's relationship ('is that a new kind of white' etc etc) is just teasing in a way that is obviously familiar to both of them, a kind of sibling bond. She even very cordially asks him to bring lestat over for dinner! She recognises his relationship with lestat, if not in words so much but at least in her actions.

Even after louis' is turning she does not turn him away when he attempts to reach like mama du lac. Louis turns up 'half a season' later, completely abandoning his family to seemingly get together with a white boy immediately after their brother (because yes, paul was not just louis' brother but grace's as well) committed suicide on her wedding day. she doesn't even judge his obvious supernatural changes and says 'he looks good', which we can also assume is reference to him being with lestat!!!

(I also find it funny how people don't extend the same amount of grace they do to any of the other characters to the character literally named Grace but that's neither here nor there.)

even when he turns up at her house after not being their for the twins birth, she invites him and leaves her kid in his care, showing that she obviously trusts him. she only got mad when he actively put her baby's life in danger by leaving the kid crying on the floor, something i feel she's very much in the right to feel like - because ya know, her kid could have DIED? babies are very fragile creatures, she dont know louis did it so he would not 'eat the baby', all she know is that her big brother endangered the life of her child.

and then he shows up at their mama's funeral looking like he don't even care along with lestat, who broke their family apart along with a young girl he claims is his daughter? that wasnt homophobia that was her being afraid for claudia because, remembering the baby on the floor scene, louis does not have the best track record with children and she still knows next to nothing about lestat but she does know (living in jim crow era south) that a white man is in no way equipped to deal with the problems of a young black girl.

I dont really have nothing to say about the coffin because that was kinda a bitch move but she obviously knows there something wrong with louis given he hadnt aged in like a decade or sommin now and she was probably protecting him from people figuring out he ldpdl in the future and lynching him for not only being black but the 'devil' or something.

headcanons:

This is set loosely in s3, Rose makes Rafe go back to Chapel Hill to finish his Commerce degree before she'll let him come back to Cameron Development. The pair of them are still fighting over the company after Ward's death.

Nat stumbles into Rafe's room drunk during a party, mistaking it for her best friend's. She then judges him on how barren and lifeless his decor is and he kicks her out, not in the mood for chit chat.

Nat is studying a PPE so they share an Economics class. For someone so reckless with money, Rafe is surprisingly good at it. They become study partners.

They didn't plan on becoming a couple. What started as a quick blow job in the library to clear Nat's head during midterms quickly became an actual friendship.

Nat had been with her ex for a long time and so she was supposed to be in her slut era when she met Rafe.

Nat is trying to date again, but Rafe somehow always gets in the way. He waltzes into her living room with the spare key when she's making out, or he'll call her for a ride home when she's out for a drink.

They're sneaking around the frat house so her ex Jon doesn't find out.

Nat forces Rafe to go hiking even though he hates the outdoors.

Nat complains about the spoiled rich kids who come to the gym she works at, forgetting who it is she's talking to. Rafe offers to just pay her to be his PT so she can quit, but she refuses.

They have a running joke of sending each other terrible songs that could soundtrack the situation. Rafe looks miserable at a party and Nat will send him I Hate it Here by Taylor Swift and revel in the sigh it produces. Leave by JoJo somehow becomes code for ditching an event and hooking up.

Nat and Barry get on like a house on fire and Rafe hates it.

Rafe's mom died of breast cancer. Nat's mom is in the army and was away a lot.

Rafe is always making sure she gets enough sleep and stops working to rest or have fun. Nat is always making sure he eats properly and meets his deadlines.

Nat is fully comfortable admitting he's hot, but not that she worries and cares about him. Rafe is the opposite, he'll happily make her a cup of tea or let her sleep over, but will get stubborn when it comes to admitting she has any kind of power over him. Despite this, he's always the needy, touchy one with a finger subconsciously tracing the outlines of her tattoos, regardless of where they are on her body.

Rafe makes fun of Nat for playing Mahjong at the old folk's home.

Nat and her bff Aden make fun of Rafe for being the most stereotypical frat boy finance guy type they've ever met

Both of them are always getting into fights and having to be extracted by the other.

Rafe avoids talking about money and politics, not wanting any conflict. Meanwhile, Nat is dragging him to picket lines and protests, and people complain that he's too tall in the crowd.

Rafe will turn any political debate she tries to start with him into a dirty joke or play devil's advocate. He likes to remind her that she's a hypocrit for sleeping with him and watch it piss her off.

Both of them are loners. Nat doesn't have a lot of friends her own age, and Rafe has only just gotten back to Chapel Hill and hasn't retained any old friendships.

Nat won't touch anything stronger than tobacco and alcohol. Growing up around her brothers' older friends on the barracks who partied way too hard and struggled with combat PTSD has made her overprotective of her brain chemistry.

Nat is one of the first people in his life to have ever bought him an extravagant, expensive gift. Usually, that's his job, but she works extra shifts and saves up to replace his watch that got stolen.

What’s the origin of your username?: I was trying to come up with a memorable enough username that would fit The Vibe because I originally wanted this to be an art account, then proceeded to not post art for two years lol. I wanted something that had a motif of both religion+horror since I tend to make (original) art around that concept. Also a primary reason I love The Vampire Armand

There Is A Boycott Movement Against 'Late Night With The Devil'

So, people are boycotting this movie because it uses AI art.

What most of these critics don't know is that AI is already used abundantly in TV and film and has been for years. My take on it is that AI is a tool and if it can be used for art then it will probably be used for art, and there's nothing anyone or any boycott can do about it. 

At the very least, the actors' jobs won't ever be taken over by AI. There will always be visual artists and people with real life visual design skills who will know how to use software, and it will be a new art altogether. Writers will still write and tweak AI stories to make them compelling. Film critics might actually be critical again like in the days of Roger Ebert or Gene Shalit. Cameramen will always be needed to shoot the movie and editors will always need to edit the final cut. Humans will always be essential to the film industry.

People say we are walking into a bleak future with AI but I say it's already here and we need to learn to adapt or succumb to dying out as individuals, depressed and angry that the world has changed yet again, just like many of those in generations before us.

The fact is that films really started to go downhill around the mid-2010 era and if there's anything in the world that can improve filmmaking then I say we use it. We will be the judges of whether or not a movie is good. Movie-watching is a subjective experience and AI can never take that away from us. Think about it. Were movies made for us or us for the movie? AI cannot enjoy the movie, so in the end, humans will always be in charge of this industry.

I can't wait to watch this movie and review it like I would review any other movie.

A new era of Disney TVA is upon us...let's talk about that.

So recently the finale to The Owl House titled Watching and Dreaming aired on April 8th, not only is it the end of that show, but was also the end story-driven serialized era of Disney TVA. In this post I'm going to discuss my thoughts on this current era of Disney TVA we're in and my thoughts on each of the shows in it. Note that for most of these shows, this going to be just my first impressions on each of them based on how much of each of them I've seen. So...let's begin.

Big City Greens

In this current era of Disney Channel we've been getting more episodic shows, these shows still have continuity character development and some major status quo changes, but they aren't super story-driven like shows such as The Owl House or Ducktales 2017. Big City Greens is the first of these. Big City Greens follows the misadventures Cricket Green, a mischievous country boy whose family moves into the big city. The main appeal of the show is to see whatever hilarious chaos the green family can unintentionally cause.

The show currently has three seasons with a fourth season coming next month and a movie coming out next year. I've seen a lot of episodes of Big City Greens whenever the show pops up on Disney Channel and this show is pretty great! I like Cricket as a protagonist; he's a mischievous little shit but a little shit that still cares about his friends and family. Most of the other greens family is cool too. This show is also really funny, from the episodes I've watched I laughed a lot while watching it. I'm not saying much about this show because I'm planning on making a review on it, hopefully, I can watch all of the first three seasons before season 4 comes out, but for now, my thoughts on this show are pretty positive so far!

The Ghost and Molly Mcgee

This is the second show of this new era of Disney Channel. The Ghost and Molly Mcgee follows an upbeat and optimistic 13-year old girl named Molly Mcgee, whose family moves into Brighton. However, turns out their house is already a home, a home to a ghost named Scratch, and Molly and Scratch become best friends over the course of season 1. That was probably a bad description of the show's synopsis but ehh whatever. The show has two seasons so far with the second season still airing. This is another show that I'm planning on making a review on so I'm not gonna say much about it here, however, I also quite like this one.

I think Molly is a good protagonist; she's funny she's likable and is always willing to help anybody out and wants to en-happify the word. I always kind of like overly optimistic female characters and Molly is one of them. Scratch is great too, his development is decent and he's just pretty funny. Again, I'm planning on making a review of this show soon so I'm not going to say much about it here, but The Ghost and Molly Mcgee is a fun cute little show.

Hamster and Gretal

So...I don't know if I could have much to say about this show. Created by the same guys who made Phineas and Ferb, Hamster, and Gretal is a show about a superhero girl named Gretal and her superhero animal sidekick Gretal. Oh, and she has an older brother too. I don't really think I have much to say about this one, since I've only seen one episode. It was the episode that had that one villain who can talk to onions. Based on the one episode I've seen...it looks fine. I'm not a huge fan of the voice acting, idk it just sounds weird to me, and the animation doesn't really look that great, but it also doesn't look terrible. The characters seemed ok and the jokes were kinda funny. Hamster and Gretal looks like a fine show, I know it isn't fair to judge something based on one episode, but this is a first impressions kind of post for each show, not a review so ya. Anyway, this show looks fine, but I'm not really interested in reviewing it.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur

I already made an entire review of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur before so I'm not going to repeat my thoughts on the show here. So I'm just going to say, I LOVE this series. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur follows 13-year-old Lunella Layfatte and her best friend Casey. One day when rebuilding a portal that a scientist left the blue prints for, she opens the portal and a giant dinosaur named Devil comes through the portal, from there they become a superhero crime-fighting duo Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Again, I already made a review of this show before, so just to recap; I absolutely LOVE this show. I love Lunella as a protagonist, I love Casey and Devil, I love the songs, I LOVE the animation, I LOVE the finale, everything about this show is amazing on every single front. This is easily my favorite Disney show of all time and my favorite show to come out from this current era so far. Again, if you want to see my full detailed thoughts on the show, go check out my review of it. Suffice to say this show is AWESOME!

Kiff

Kiff is a show about an anthropomorphic squirrel named Kiff, and the show revolves around her adventures with her best rabbit friend Barry in their town. Of the few episodes I've seen of Kiff, it looks like a fun show. It's pretty funny and I like the characters and some of the songs. Don't have much to say about Kiff other than it's a pretty fun show.

Haily's On It!

Haily's On It is a show about a girl named Haily who doesn't really like trying out new things. But one day a scientist from the future comes and says that Haily needs to complete every single thing on this list or else the world will end. Haily's On It looks decent based on the episodes of it I've seen. Haily is a likable enough protagonist and Scott is fine, I'm not a huge fan of the art style and animation though...it just looks kinda of stiff. Don't have much to say about this one either, it looks like a decent 7/10 based on what I've seen.

Upcoming shows

There are a few shows that are going to be released soon. First there's...Primos, the show that caused quite a bit of controversy when the theme song dropped due to its racist depictions of Mexicans, and the creator's response to that controversy. I'm not gonna go into much detail about the drama aside from that, but I don't really think I have much interest in this one. The character designs suck and I don't really know if the premise really interests me. Maybe I'll review it when it comes out in 2024, but this still doesn't look that exciting.

I also heard that there's an upcoming Darkwing Duck reboot coming soon so that's cool and Phenias and Ferb is getting a revival for seasons 5&6.

Conclusion & Overall Thoughts

So what are my overall thoughts on this era of Disney TVA? Well, I'd say it's pretty good so far. Sure, most of them are very episodic and slice-of-life but I think that's ok, not every show needs to be story-driven or that stuff. The new shows we've been getting have still been pretty good, I'd say that of all the big three networks (CN and Nickelodeon) Disney Channel is the only one that did remotely well during the 2010s and early 2020s. This channel is still able to create consistently good to great shows to this day, and that's certainly an accomplishment when you look at the current states of CN and Nickelodeon right now. So in conclusion...this era of Disney TVA is pretty good and I'm looking forward to whatever new shows are gonna come out. So...bye.

Tulen morsian - English title: "The Devil's Bride" is a Finnish historical drama film released in 2016. It was directed by Saara Cantell and is based on the historical treatise of the same name written by the Finnish author, Leena Virtanen.

The film is set in the late 17th century and revolves around the life of Anna, a young woman living in a small Finnish village. Anna is accused of being a witch and is forced to confront the prejudices and superstitions of her time. The story delves into themes of oppression, religious intolerance, and the power dynamics between men and women during that era.

It is perhaps the most accurate historical film presenting witch processes as they were (but there is a lot of fiction too). The Movie and this podcast are based on Academical research of the subject and yet it is exiting and revealing. (Watch the video clip below)

My podcast series about Witches in Finland and witch films is coming to an end. It is time to remember the victims of these Witch processes.

There were about 1,200 trials in Finland in which the crime was witchcraft or sorcery - about 150 death sentences. It is not known how many of them were released in the Court of Appeal. Of the more than a thousand people accused in 1620-1700, more than half were men. In Åland, those sentenced to death (in 1666 - 1668) were all women.

Scarlet haze

That bastard got her good with a surprisingly lowly aimed slash-oh whom she was trying to fool when she saw it coming before the his opponent even decided to go through with the motion. He was dead the second after his blade tore into her flesh, a quite short lived victory, maybe he couldn't even comprehend the depth of the sizeable cut judging by the frozen surprise in his eyes. The alley littered with corpses, all the usual, the same now almost painfully predictable outcome of every scuffle. Not even worth calling it a swordfight. Couldn't remember her last proper one.

That's why the Captain allowed this time to be different. She was living her life cutthroat, a wild brutal pace without the slightest letting up; it would mean death. The only problem that it wasn't her life she would be gambling with. Until now, when she decided to...indulge by simply not arching out of harm's way as she always did with the grace of a wild cat.

It has been so long since she was actually wounded by a sword. The sensation of steel slicing through flesh and muscle set her nerves ablaze; a reminder. She wasn't immortal. She wasn't indeed the reincarnation of the Devil itself but human. ... For the most part. The searing pain dulled to a borderline pleasant throb, constantly fluttering to her heartbeat which was oddly calm despite the circumstances. Rozália slid down to the ground, watching with odd fascination as rich crimson continued to pour of her, slithering into small cracks, soaking the ground with her very essence. Mesmerized how her life even when leaving her sought out the ones she had ended, almost mockingly overlapping, overtaking their own cooled blood and eventually reaching their faces, their wounds as a taunt. This is only happening because I allowed it.

Her head not fully swimming yet, only an enjoyable buzz. Numbness where she wasn't haunted by the past, torn apart by the feeling of duty. It was worse than a passion for opium because she was addicted to death. The calm of an ending storm, no longer bearing weight the world has thrown onto her. The promise of peace hanging in the air, within arms reach all she had to is to simply rest. However, she was picky with the method, just like how one would search endlessly for the perfect stall in a shady corner. Although this attempt was rather desperate, but in her defense she was already beyond overwhelmed. She needed it. Needed the few minutes of peaceful limbo between worlds before reality found her.

Ah it always did. That damned instinct of survival, the fire, the bright blaze within which simply couldn't be extinguished no matter what happened. No matter how battered, wrecked, ruined, broken she was in mind, body and soul. Still...a few more sluggish seconds wouldn't hurt. Too much.

Her crew, her family was frantically searching for her, their desperate voices laced with genuine fear for her wellbeing sparked the wildfire into life, throwing her out of the pleasant hum into a headsplintering thunder.

This was her longest so far, judging how her legs shook under her weight. Of course she stood. She always did. Lips pale, emerald fire gaze half lidded. They didn't question it. Any part of it; no hows, whys neither a very expected what she was even doing in the first place. They always wore the same solemn expressions, exchanged a wordless story which Rozália was always too hazy to actually address and pry after all those years of sailing together. They knew something she didn't, that's for sure. She didn't bother with lies, excuses, none of them would be even believable. She was probably the most talented swordsman of this era, possessing almost otherworldly speed, precision, experience, acrobatics, versatility and close to impeccable prediction. Even if she was surprised, she could've easily minimized the damage, not to mention the lack of reason to simply sit and bleed out.

Rozália wasn't openly honest either. She didn't need to be and didn't have the faintest idea how to confront them about this forbidden desire. The soft madness of feeling life slowly but surely drain from her. The comfortable days of recovery on the edge of delirium. And after it has been a while...the gnawing urge growing for it again. How to explain such thing that seemed to go against her very core, yet slotted into it so nicely like a missing piece.

A:Who's in charge of cooking?

Sakuya, since she's canonically a superb chef, Sonic can make edible stuff, but it's mostly just eh stuff, he mostly just makes stuff that can fill him and give him energy, so Sakuya is the one who takes care of it and neither of the two have a problem with it.

B:What good habits do they have?

Sakuya has an habit of cleaning even outside her job, she actually clears Sonic's room despite his protest that it ended up rubbing off him, same as her habit of waking up early and on time, though Post-Fugitive arc Sonic is no longer an heavy sleeper by a long shoot, in fact Sakuya has to get him to relax again.

Sonic habit of training and practicing his powers goes well with Sakuya who also takes the chance to learn a few tricks from him and even come up with her own stuff, she also is fond of going into morning runs with him sometimes.

C:What bad habit's do they have that annoy the other?

Sakuya can be workaholic at times which can annoy Sonic sometimes, same as her insistence of getting Sonic to be more clean or being more respectful when talking to people...granted that's when she isn't joining him in taking the piss out of someone.

Sonic's attitude does annoy Sakuya sometimes, same as his sense of humor...though she does find him funny on occasion.

D:Favorite vacations and getaways?

The Scarlet Devil Mansion sorta counts as one to Sonic since he's usually more relaxed there than he is in Mobius, but Sonic often takes Sakuya to Mobius and shows her various Zones of stuff she couldn't see in Gensokyo, though they often take their friends with them.

E:Favorite sleeping position?

Generally they're ok with just hugging themselves at best, though Post-Johnny's death and especially Post-Fugitive era, they both hug each other tight because they're afraid of losing each other again.

F:What are their daily routines?

Wake up, have a morning run, Sonic helps Sakuya with her job because it gives him something to do (He can clean, he just doesn't want to clean his room), do groceries, they train with each other, hang out, do some activity, sometimes Sakuya joins Sonic in his patrols, they hang out with their friends, Sakuya cooks dinner and Sonic helps if he can, then they eventually go to sleep.

G:How do they spend time togehter?

Besides what I already explained above, Sonic joins Sakuya if she's trying to stop an incident and Sakuya goes to help Sonic with his adventures or missions if Remilia allows it, assuming her and the rest of their friends don't outright join her.

Sonic also plays games with her in her spare time or shows/explains stuff from Mobius that she doesn't understand, he also follows her to the "Incident Resolving Parties" occasionally but just drinks Chaos Cola and watches over her (and his friends) if they're there because he doesn't like drinking alcohol.

H:Do they spend time in each other hobbies?

They do! Or at least try to, if they don't tend they just leave each other to it without judging (ok they might crack a joke or make a comment at each other but it's not serious or anything).

Though generally they're able to join each other's hobbies easily.

I:What are their best memories together?

Generally just their time spent with each other, though Sonic freeing Mobius was a big one for Sonic and Sakuya loves how happy Sonic was there.

Though a big one is when Sonic finally cleared his name and proved he was never evil, there was a lot of emotions that day, but a big one was happiness of being able to be together again and Sakuya knowing the person she fell in love with never betrayed her.
