Despite Real Life being stressful, I got a bit of a burst of creativity and exceeded my goal for the week.     I touched 2 fics (1 new and 1 WIPs) for a total of 1705  words.

Bucky Barnes Bingo - Round Six [BBB - R6]  (Ends 31 Mar)

This amazing bingo event from the folks over at @buckybarnesbingo is still in progress.  I have twenty-four  fills  and six bingoes with one WIP at the moment, and a couple  more crossovers planned to hopefully get a blackout.  

* U3 - Yelena Belova  - Magica and I are circling back around to Peresmešnik, (aka Three Avengers and a Baby) - with the next chapter featuring Tony’s interactions with Mirriam, and a revelation about her parentage. I’ve written 313 of the 560 words in this chapter so far - it needs about 500 more words before we’ll be ready to post - maybe sometime  next  month?   

* Adoptable Nov - Canon: Animated Series - I picked this up intending to do something with the What If … Captain Carter were the First Avenger? episode from Season One,  but  Season 3’s  What If… The Red Guardian Stopped the Winter Soldier?  is the perfect fanfic fodder.  I plan on keeping my fic platonic between Alexie and the Soldier, but there will be some shenanigans -  I’ve got 366 words towards the fic after re-watching the episode, but am debating how far I want to take the story.

* T3 - KINK: praise kink Combined this with the Flash Fiction Friday prompt [#FFF290 Midnight Distractions] Sweet (Tech) Talk  where a pining!Steve visits Tony’s workshop late at night and the way he’s sweet-talking his tech sends Steve’s mind right into the gutter. It came in at 456 words and will get posted to Ao3 before the event is over. 

* Oct Adoptable: Facial Hair Bros - Filled this with  New Kid in Town- a double drabble that crossed over with the Flash Fic Friday prompt  [#FFF287 I Can’t Stand It]. Tony is complaining to Pepper about that so-called wizard stealing his look - she thinks Tony doth protest too much.  It came in at 200 words and will get posted to Ao3 before this event ends. 

* A1 - Evil Exes -  ended up squishing this into Chapter Three  of  Carrying Things Forward, which I posted Friday, It’s  a followup to my omegaverse fic A Little Bit Carried Away where  Alpha!Bucky has moved in with omega!Tony and they’re figuring out their relationship, including some difficult parts of their pasts. It came in at 1268 words.

* January - Stockholm Syndrome -  used this prompt in combination with last week’s Flash Fiction Friday prompt  [#FFF288 Loud Lie, Quiet Truth]  for Redirected Aim .  The Soldier’s mission had been to retrieve the serum Howard Stark had reformulated, leaving no witnesses.  He chose a different target.  It’s a WinterIron fic that came in at 687 words and will get posted to Ao3 before the event ends. 

February - Bed Sharing - planning on using this for Chapter 4 of Carrying Things Forward - it’s going to be tricky to get this finished and posted by the end of the month, since I’m going on a vacation where after the 27th, I won’t have internet access for several days.

NARRATOR: Reading the first few lines, it might be the word "Ziege" with "gen" added on. I guess I can assume it's a nod to the cryptid, Goat Man, known in Sector 0. In this file, the sub-classification is the same as the code name, which goes to show how creative the researchers for this project are.

NARRATOR:

Classification: Anomaly Sub-Classification: Ziegegen

Containment Procedures: 874-13-26E are a group of goat-men that live in Sector 11-F, Subsector B. They are aggressive towards those without gold on their person, attacks towards an individual, and outsiders. There are seemingly three types of 974-13-26E; the one that holds the most numbers have been given the name "Ziegegen" by various 874-13-26B members. They are the middle ground of the three types in terms of temperament and need only Formula F1 to subdue for containment and tests. The more aggressive type, termed "Brutes" by 874-13-26B, need Formulas F8 and G5. (See Containment Addendum 874-13-26E-1 for why mixing Formulas F8 and G5 together is prohibited.)

The third type are termed "Undead Ziegegen" by 874-13-26B. They are the more passive members of 874-13-26E if unthreatened. They can be brought into containment without sedatives but if necessary, Formula A1 will send them back into a calm state.

Containment Addendum 874-13-26E-1: Formula F8 is a relaxant; it will not send a subject unconscious immediately. Formula G5 is blocker; it will send a subject unconscious quickly, but does not immediately calm a subject down. Mixing Formulas F8 and G5 has proven to be catastrophic to subject systems and has resulted in a total of six subject deaths before researchers realized it was the formula mixing instead of containment cells or moving from habitat.

Containment Addendum 874-13-26E-2: 874-13-26E may very well resemble their non-hominid counterparts in Sector 0 in that they eat whatever is placed in front of them, but with more human-like capabilities, there will be instances where they refuse to eat. Containment procedures have updated to involve placing entertainment and enrichment items in with the subjects, as a bored or panicked 874-13-26E subject can be destructive. Added Note from Dr. Roberts: So long as researchers are wearing something gold, and they are recording the interaction, the Seven have approved playing with or attempting to speak to contained 874-13-26E subjects. Any found to not record their interactions will be transferred to a different project.

Description: All three types of 874-13-26E visually differ from the other two. Clearance Level: 5 Access to "Brutes" description. 874-13-26E's more abundant variation are visually like the Sector 0 animal known as a Billy goat that walks on two legs and is capable of using their front legs as a two-fingered hand. There are no visual indication on gender despite their similarities. Their fur comes in a wide variety of colors like their Sector 0 counterparts. Clearance Level: 5 Access to "Undead Ziegegen" description.

Developing a Research question and creating personal codebook. Week 1 Homework

Upon reviewing the codebook for the NESARC study, my focus is primarily on alcohol abuse. I plan to utilize several variables, including the frequency and intensity of alcohol consumption, demographic factors, and lifestyle factors. Additionally, I intend to incorporate all relevant variables into my personal codebook for this research. I have printed following pages, 30,46,77, 125, 299, 316 so far and will print more as needed.

My topic is, “Association between alcohol abuse and chronic depression.”

While alcohol abuse serves as a solid initial focus, I recognize the necessity of clarifying my specific interests within this domain. After careful consideration, I find myself particularly intrigued by the relationship between the amount of alcohol consumed and the development of alcohol dependence. To facilitate this exploration, I augment my codebook to include variables that capture alcohol levels, such as frequency and intensity of alcohol consumption, as well as quantity and frequency. My second topic of interest revolves around the question, "What is the threshold at which a person becomes alcohol dependent?"

The article, “Alcohol consumption and major depression in the general population: the critical importance of dependence” emphasizes on the relationship between alcohol consumption and major depression. It is based on a longitudinal study of a large population cohort in Canada over 12 years. It evaluates different patterns of alcohol use and major depressive episodes (MDEs) using the Composite International Diagnostic Interview Short Form (CIDI-SF). The study found that respondents with alcohol dependence were at higher risk of MDE, but any alcohol consumption, exceeding guidelines for moderate drinking and binge drinking were not Respondents with MDE showed no increase of alcohol consumption, but the risk of alcohol dependence was elevated in depressed men.

The second article titled "Gender Differences in the Relation between Depressive Symptoms and Alcohol Problems: A Longitudinal Perspective" investigates the longitudinal relationship between depressive symptoms and alcohol problems, specifically focusing on gender differences. The study aims to clarify and extend previous research by examining whether depressive symptoms predict subsequent alcohol problems for females, while alcohol problems predict subsequent depressive symptoms for males.
