You haven't known Demetri for that long, but after being introduced by Sam and Miguel, you'd come to like him, a lot. You were both nerds, finding peace in niche fantasy comics and superhero movies. He'd often make references and come over to your house to watch a new movie or the latest release in a comic series you were reading.
But he'd never taken the hints, ever.
You tried making advances a trillion times, your friends would often joke about you or stick you together. You didn't do karate like them, but sometimes you wish you did because maybe, just maybe, he'd look at you. Maybe you'd be able to impress him enough to see the potential you held in a relationship, if that even made sense.
But, after the fall of Cobra Kai and Kreese and Silver, you'd had some months to kind of tune into karate, see what they did, help them out with little favors. You had nothing better to do, so why not just help them out and maybe make new friends?
That's where Tory came in.
You'd ranted on and on to her and Robby about how much you liked Demetri and how you wished he'd just see the signs. They promised to help you with him, and they held themselves to their word.
You were at the county fair, accompanying Demetri, Tory, Robby, and Devon.
The moon was shining, the neon lights illuminating your path to the ferris wheel.
Robby and Tory whisper as you, Demetri, and Devon follow. Tory turns around as you enter the line, a look of realization on her face.
"How do you guys wanna do groups? Only two people can ride in a cart, and there's five of us." The blonde speaks
"I can go alone," Devon replies rather quickly, "You two should be together," She refers to Tory and Robby. "I'd rather go alone, I like sitting right in the middle," She shrugs, trying to write off the fact she was also in on trying to get you and Demetri together.
"Oh, uh, okay" Demetri shrugs
Tory and Robby nod, and as you realize they're staring at you to do the same, you do.
After a long wait, you hop into the cart with Demetri, awkwardly awaiting for the ride to properly begin. He takes notice of your awkwardness, unable to talk or start conversation, finding it a little confusing. He writes it out as you're probably just tired and hungry.
"So, did you see that new episode of The Mandalorian?" He asks
You shake your head. "Not yet"
You're both silent until you reach the top, your eyes gazing upon the whole lit up fairground.
"Wow, isn't that cool?"
You nod, deciding to just get it over with because you'll be able to escape within the next two minutes. You look back at Tory and Robby, nodding their heads, giving you a thumbs up.
"Demetri, I have something to tell you,"
He looks at you, a bit of worry on his face. "What's up?"
"I like you."
You felt like the whole world was crumbling beneath you, your heart dropping as you spoke. You scan his face, waiting for something, anything. Rejection would've been better than this silence.
In an act you weren't expecting, he places his hands on your cheeks and quickly kisses you, the audible cheers of Tory and Robby behind you like the music to your slow dance. Devon looks up on the curve, also seeing your lips smashed together. She smiles, leaning back in the cart as she takes in the faltering view.
"Y/n and Demetri just kissed!" Tory shouts down to Devon while your faces heat up.
"I saw!"

Daily Rise Quotes: DAY 619
Donnie: Dad, you're awesome, okay? You're the guy who introduced us to Lou Jitsu! And yeah, sure, you're a rat and it probably would've been cooler if you were a tiger or something, but that's not the point! The point is: if winning this means that much to you, then hit that button, daddyo!

rainy days with him ✸ 양정원 x female reader ( 619 ) genre. fluff, drabble cw. skinship playlist 📒LiA'S NOTE me and who?? ✸ LiBRARY PASS ⋆
Rain poured on the windows as you stared at the grey sky, dripping its dreary tears outdoors.
Rain-gazing was one of your favorite hobbies, but it was now the cause of your heartache at the fact that you couldn't go out to see him. The tree branch tapping at your window startled you out of your daze as a sigh escaped your mouth.
"I miss him" You sighed, drawing your gaze to the seemingly empty house without him. Fiddling with the ring he had given you on your one-year anniversary, you attempted to shut your eyes in hopes that sleep would replace your disappointment at the rain.
Unaware that you had dozed off, the knocks on the door startled you. Lazily, you sat up and made your way to the door, wondering who would be mad enough to come over while it was pouring.
You pulled at the knob, surprised to find that the boyfriend you had been wishing for in your dreams was standing right in front of you, his hair slightly dripping from the rain he had been running in. His dimples pressed into his cheeks at the sight of you as you stood in awe, deluding yourself into thinking it was a lucid dream.
Bringing your hand up to his figure, you poked his dimple to confirm your delusions. "Won?" You questioned. "Yes baby?" His voice caused a smile to morph on your lips as you pulled him indoors, still smiling like a fool at your boyfriend you still couldn't get used to.
You lead him to your bathroom, leaving him there while you fetched your hairdryer and a mound of blankets which he protested to wear.
"What if you had gotten sick?" Your hands raked his body which was damp with rain. Despite his obvious early signs of flu, he still grinned at you, displaying his dimples and pulling you to his lap.
Your worry fueled irritation washed away at the action of him peppering your face with soft kisses. "Then I'd get you sick with me, so we'd be sick together." He said, fingers finding your own and intertwining them together. You got up abruptly, shooting him a look. You watched as his eyes crinkled with glee at getting on your nerves, knowing how much you hated being sick.
He rose from his seat on the edge of the bathtub, picking you up effortlessly and throwing you over his shoulder. Your squeamish giggles echoed from the bathroom as you struggled to slide out of his grip.
Dropping you on the bed, he curled beside you, his wet hair dampening your pillows. "Let's watch a movie." He remarked, pulling you into his embrace.
Without any complaints, you got comfortable and watched his dramatic series, knowing he was probably dozing off for most of the episodes. Feeling stiff, you turned your body to him and moved to press a kiss on his nose, watching as his face twitched at the sensation. You untangled your hands from his, and lightly pinched his face.
"Did I fall asleep?" His eyes fluttered open, focusing them on you. You hummed in reply, entwining your fingers in his dark hair and turning to look outside. The sky had turned light grey as the clouds busily moved about, no longer dripping rain. A smile found its way to your lips at the sight of the sun peaking its light through a gap in the clouds. You turned to Jungwon whose lips were replicating yours, happy that you were happy.
He led you into a kiss, your smiles coating it with sugar. The suns heat warmed your body, but your heart warmed with the most priceless form of sun sitting laying beside you.

MST3K's most wanted
I've been organizing my Mystery Science Theater 3000 collection, so I've become preoccupied with the handful of episodes that are not easily available, and the reasons why. In case in anyone else is interested, I thought I'd share what I've learned.
Tumblr media
For our purposes we'll be focusing on the ten seasons that aired on cable, from 1989 to 1999. With the post-2017 episodes, it's trivial to purchase them on home video or streaming. And the pre-cable stuff, from KTMA, is widely available as bootleg footage, which is probably about as good as you're ever going to get. But the episodes from the cable era have been notoriously difficult to re-release, and require special attention.
Of the 176 MST3K episodes that aired on cable, 166 have been released on home video, and 145 are available for streaming/download on the Gizmoplex. As someone who's been trying to collect the whole series since the 1990s, I think that's pretty impressive. But there are 40 episodes that have been particularly tricky. Let's take a look, won't you?
Currently available on the Gizmoplex, but never on home video (1):
913 - Quest of the Delta Knights
As I understand it, nobody was sure who owned the rights to this movie, or how to contact them, for years. The situation has only recently been cleared up, perhaps too late for a DVD release.
Currently available on the Gizmoplex, but out of print on home video (8):
203 - Jungle Goddess
317 - Viking Women and the Sea Serpent
319 - War of the Colossal Beast
510 - The Painted Hills
619 - Red Zone Cuba
806 - The Undead
808 - The She-Creature
912 - The Screaming Skull
It looks like all of these went out of print due to being on a set where a different episode's rights expired. Theoretically Shout Factory could re-release any of them in a "Lost and Found" set, but that may not be cost-effective as people move away from collecting physical media.
Currently available on home video and MST3K's official YouTube, but not on the Gizmoplex (1):
615 - Kitten with a Whip (Vol. 25 DVD, 2012)
Kitten is one of the Universal movies that could only be licensed for physical media. And yet, it's the only one I can find on the official YouTube channel. Beats me why that is.
Currently available on home video, but not on the Gizmoplex (16):
401 - Space Travelers (Vol. 32 DVD, 2015)
522 - Teen-Age Crime Wave (Vol. 33 DVD, 2015)
524 - 12 to the Moon (Vol. 35 DVD, 2016)
601 - Girls Town (Vol. 39 DVD, 2017)
605 - Colossus and the Headhunters (Vol. 38 DVD, 2017)
614 - San Francisco International (Vol. 32 DVD, 2015)
704 - The Incredible Melting Man (Vol. 36 DVD, 2016)
801 - Revenge of the Creature (Vol. 25 DVD, 2012)
802 - The Leech Woman (25th Anniversary Edition DVD, 2013)
803 - The Mole People (Vol. 26 DVD, 2013)
804 - The Deadly Mantis (Vol. 27 DVD, 2013)
805 - The Thing That Couldn't Die (Vol. 29 DVD, 2013)
814 - Riding With Death (Vol. 36 DVD, 2016)
815 - Agent for H.A.R.M (Vol. 33 DVD, 2015)
901 - The Projected Man (Vol. 30 DVD, 2014)
1013 - Diabolik (Vol. 39 DVD, 2017)
I was able to find the DVD sets listed above on Shout Factory's website. As far as I know, they'll remain in print for the foreseeable future, but there's no way to know how long that will last.
The general pattern with these episodes is that the movies are owned by major studios that would only license them for physical media. Columbia owns Teen-Age Crime Wave and 12 to the Moon. MGM owns Girls Town and The Incredible Melting Man. Paramount owns Diabolik. But the big player here is Universal, which controls the rights to Space Travelers, San Francisco International, Revenge of the Creature, Leech Woman, Mole People, Deadly Mantis, Thing That Couldn't Die, Riding With Death, Agent for H.A.R.M., and Projected Man.
The odd man out here is Colossus and the Headhunters; I can't find any info on who owns the rights to this film, which may be part of the problem.
The real hard cases, the stickiest of wickets, are below...
Released on home video, but now out of print (5):
212 - Godzilla vs. Megalon (Vol. 10 DVD, 2006)
309 - The Amazing Colossal Man (VHS, 1996)
910 - The Final Sacrifice (Vol. 17 DVD, 2010)
1001 - Soultaker (Vol. 14 DVD, 2009)
1012 - Squirm (Turkey Day Collection DVD, 2014)
Megalon and Colossal Man were both recalled when rights issues came up after they were released. Oops. These were produced by Rhino, back before Shout Factory took over.
The Final Sacrifice is particularly tough to find, even unofficially, because director Tjardus Greidanus is very aggressive about tracking down download links. I always figured someone was similarly possessive of Soultaker, since it's clearly a passion project, but that's purely my speculation.
The Turkey Day DVD set is still available on Amazon at a reasonable price, so Squirm is still relatively accessible for now.
Never released on home video or streaming (9):
201 - Rocketship X-M
213 - Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster
311 - It Conquered the World
416 - Fire Maidens of Outer Space
418 - Attack of the the Eye Creatures
807 - Terror from the Year 5000
809 - I was a Teenage Werewolf
905 - The Deadly Bees
906 - The Space Children
In 2017, Shout released its final (?) MST3K DVD collection, which included Satellite Dishes, a compilation of host segments from episodes that "may never get a legitimate release." This included the nine listed above, as well as The Amazing Colossal Man and Quest for the Delta Knights. Of course, Delta Knights eventually got a digital-only release, which is cause for a glimmer of hope. But the others are probably tougher nuts to crack.
Wade Williams owned the rights to Rocketship X-M and had a particular sentimental attachment to the film. His death in 2023 may make it easier to negotiate with his estate, but I wouldn't count on that being a swift process.
Godzilla vs. Megalon and Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster are part of a prestigious franchise, and it's remarkable MST3K got away with riffing on Godzilla movies in the first place. I get the impression that Japanese culture doesn't particularly appreciate the sort of mockery MST3K is known for, so the rights to these two movies may be a long, long shot. Then again I used to think there was no hope of for the Gamera episodes too.
Fire Maidens, Deadly Bees, and Space Children are owned by Olive Films, and currently licensed to Paramount. It's possible a deal can be made later on, but not until the current arrangement expires.
The major bugbear for MST3K fandom is Susan Hart, the widow of American International Pictures co-founder James Nicholson. One way or another the AIP catalog was split up and Hart laid claim to several of their films, including Amazing Colossal Man, It Conquered the World, Eye Creatures, Terror from the Year 5000, and Teenage Werewolf. Hart's price for licensing her movies is very high, and it seems Shout has given up negotiating with her. I suppose the situation could change when she passes away, but I'd feel rather silly hoping for an old woman to die just so I can pay 8 bucks to watch robots laugh at a werewolf movie.
In conclusion, I've already purchased all the movies available on the Gizmoplex (I got most of them in a Kickstarter reward package), and the 31 that aren't available there can be obtained by, ahem, other means. So it's a great time to be an MST3K fan, and I'm still amazed how easy it is to watch the show nowadays.

Happy (belated) anniversary to Lilo & Stitch: The Series and Stitch!
Tumblr media
Yes, I know that the twentieth anniversary of the premiere of Lilo & Stitch: The Series (on ABC Kids) was on September 20th. I was sick back then, though. So, I'm celebrating it today on the anniversary of its Disney Channel premiere instead.
Lilo & Stitch: The Series continued our beloved titular human-alien duo's adventures on their home island of Kaua'i after the first film and the show's pilot film Stitch! The Movie. Throughout the course of 65 episodes over two seasons that aired within almost three years (September 2003 to June/July 2006), they went around the island (and occasionally elsewhere) to find, capture, and rehabilitate Jumba's other genetic experiments by giving them a place where they truly belonged. They also dealt with the ex-Captain Gantu, now working for Jumba's ex-partner Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel, as they hunted down the experiments.
While Lilo & Stitch creator Chris Sanders, who reprised his voice role as Stitch in the show (as did almost all of the original film's voice cast reprising their roles), never really intended for his film to go anywhere beyond the one film he made, Lilo & Stitch: The Series has left a lasting impact with Lilo & Stitch fans everywhere that can still be seen to this day. Dr. Hämsterviel and his Python-esque Frenchman-sounding voice became recognizable while giving the franchise a proper villain. Gantu was fleshed out more as a character instead of just being a brute enforcer for someone else, especially through his interactions with the memorably lazy, wisecracking, sandwich-loving, reluctant sidekick Experiment 625, who we know today as Reuben. The second season did crossovers with other Disney properties before it was cool, with the casts of Kim Possible, American Dragon: Jake Long, The Proud Family, and Recess each joining our duo's 'ohana for an episode. Then there are the genetic experiments themselves, with their fun designs and wide and sometimes wacky abilities making a lasting impression on those who enjoyed seeing Stitch and his mischief while expanding on the (admittedly crazy and inconsistent) lore of Lilo & Stitch's universe. One of them, X-619/Splodyhead, even made a cameo in a Walt Disney Animation Studios film in Big Hero 6, while another, X-221/Sparky, who debuted in Stitch! The Movie, became a boss in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. And we can't talk about experiments without mentioning X-624/Angel, Stitch's love interest and mate who became so popular in her own right that she now gets a regular influx of merchandise and has made several video game appearances, including most recently in Disney Speedstorm.
Not to be forgotten, the Stitch! anime series also recently celebrated its fifteenth anniversary of its premiere back on October 8th. The first spin-off made after the original Western continuity, Stitch! had the little blue alien crash-land on a small fictional island in the Ryukyu Islands called Izayoi, where he meets and befriends the tomboyish Yuna. During the first two seasons, which were animated by Madhouse, Yuna and Stitch go on their own adventures around the island, befriending yokai who live in the island's Chitama Forest, and dealing with Hämsterviel, Gantu, and Reuben again. Some of the experiments even return in this show, especially Angel, who became an intergalactic pop star in the (in-universe) years since we first met her on Kaua'i. The main plot of these two seasons is about Stitch getting enough good deeds to have the magical Chitama Spiritual Stone grant him a wish, which was apparently to become "ruler of the universe". However, by the end, he decides that living with Yuna is better. After Madhouse's 56 episodes (which includes two post-season specials), Shin-Ei Animation took over for the third season, retooling it by having Yuna and Stitch move to a fictional Okinawan city called New Town, going on wackier adventures there with her new classmates, while Hämsterviel now goes after Stitch on behalf of a big-eared humanoid alien woman named Delia to gain a power cell within him, using several experiments that he "transmutated" to do his dirty work. The 30-episode (again, including another post-season special) season also had Stitch reuniting with Lilo, now all grown up with a daughter of her own, for one episode. The main series of three seasons ran from 2008 to 2011; they were followed by two more specials, Stitch and the Planet of Sand in 2012 and Stitch! Perfect Memory (or Stitch! A Perfect Memory) in 2015.
Infamously, the English dub of the anime established itself as a post-Lilo continuation from the get-go with probably the worst-chosen opening lines to any sequel show ever, when Jumba claimed (later proven false by Lilo's aforementioned third-season appearance) that Stitch left her because Lilo became more interested in a boyfriend over him; such lines, which weren't in the Japanese original, caused many fans to swear off the anime series as "not 'ohana". However, as the years passed since Stitch! ended, the anime faded to relative obscurity, which in turn caused much of the hate it received to die down. In more recent years, it's now garnered some appreciation in its own right after years of ridicule and vitriol, with those such as Saberspark enjoying the show for what it is and making videos about their more positive thoughts on it.
My friend @angoraram made the drawing at the top of this post for this special occasion featuring Stitch, Reuben, Angel, and several other experiments well-known and obscure from throughout Lilo & Stitch: The Series (plus Dorkifier from Stitch!). She already shared this picture on her DeviantArt galley last month, but she also allowed me to share some special 5K desktop wallpaper edits I made of her drawing available in 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratio versions. You can download these over here.

NETIZENS DON'T KNOW HOW TO FEEL ABOUT LOOPiN'S UPCOMING KILLING VOICE...
Tumblr media
published under iktinfo.com on February 27th, 2024 by anonymous.
After a day of teasing, Dingo Music has officially confirmed that LOOPiN will appear on the next episode of their highly successful series Killing Voice - a quickstart to their new music promotions, according to an article released by New Wave Music after the confirmation.
The top comments on reports about the news show a slight confusion about this decision from Dingo, such as:
[ +619 / -11 ] this is... surprising?
[ +765 / -38 ] i forget they are a 5 year old group already, they only started making success 2 years ago
[ +912 / -157 ] seriously i think so many other younger groups deserve to go before them, not to mention a lot of seniors... but whatever i guess
Another touchy topic of discussion online has been LOOPiN's connections with the broadcast company: after all, recently appointed Dingo creative director Lee Jooheon, producer name HEEDAMN, is a long New Wave Music colaborator and personal friend of the group. Take that as you will, if you know what I mean!
LOOPiN's Killing Voice will be released on March 1st.

Today's translation #619
Newtype 01/2017, Otsuka Manabu interview
Part 3.
-- Figure skating is a sport, but at the same time, it's also art. What do you think about the balance of these two elements?
Otsuka: I think that every episode was very entertaining, but for me, episode 4. was especially memorable. Because it shows the determination of Yuuri and Yurio as figure skaters, and I could feel a sort of exquisite melancholy there. The story moves forward through gags, conversations between characters and figure skating performances, and the balance in how the sternness of athletes, the distress of living in a world of competition is interwoven with that is exquisite - I think that it for sure added a depth to the story.
-- What is the 'miracle' that happened for this show?
Otsuka: To be honest, it's a series of miracles. 'If this particular person weren't there at that particular moment, we wouldn't be able to air the episode...' - it was like that time after time. But if I dare to pick up one miracle from all these miracles, it would be that a lot of fans are enjoying the show. For sure, this is a big source of motivation for us making the show. I think that it's awesome that at this studio, Yamamoto Director and Kubo-san and every staff member taking part in the project, no matter how severe the situation is, they all can keep the passion that makes them want to bring the viewers show that is as good as it can be.

one thing i find fascinating when comparing one piece to black clover is that they both end up sort of identifying the main character as special early on, but i think that in a way asta is more integrated within the black bulls, despite being very visibly centered from the beginning, while luffy still in a small way is set apart and deified from very early, and like a lot of that has to do with the fact that he is explicitly in a captain-crew relationship from the get-go despite the fact that his crew retains its agency for the most part (which they willingly surrender their allegiance to luffy) but asta despite it all, still never manages to be more than just 'trusted', and part of that is because he naturally remains deferent to yami (for good reason)
luffy very easily does show respect and deference to his mentors (shanks and rayleigh etc) but he's a lot more independent in that way and i find it fascinating
ofc neither is better than the other but i think it kind of displays their personality differences a bit but also the difference of environment
(please note this opinion is made as of episode 619 LMFAO)

Episode 619: Advantages of being the master
Well-meaning governess Vicki has found a grievously injured Barnabas Collins in the woods. Barnabas insists Vicki not take him to a doctor or anyone else, but hide him somewhere no one will find him. She thinks of a secret door to the long-abandoned west wing of the great house of Collinwood, and uses that to take him to a hiding place there. For the first year of Dark Shadows, the west wing was…
