Safe in Your Arms

TK smiled proudly at the TV as he and Lou Two watched the news segment showing Carlos on the press conference that had been held by the Texas Rangers after solving their month-long armored car heist case. One that had resulted in one fatality and a several injuries. A few of which the 126 had responded to.

This was the first case that Chief Bridges had let Carlos take the lead on and Carlos had definitely been feeling a whole new level of pressure on the job than he had previously dealt with as a patrol officer. He had spent several long nights in the office, sometimes bringing his files home to continue working on while TK tried to help or slept on him while he worked. TK couldn’t believe that an offhand comment about traffic backing up had led Carlos to the suspects, but his husband had good instincts.

Last night, Carlos had told him that they were working on a plan to try to catch the suspects in the act, that he and the soup guy would be the bait. It wasn’t like it was a surprise to TK that Carlos would be in danger on the job, they both were on a daily basis. They had talked about the realities of what could happen should the men act in the way that they had in their last attempt. It also wasn’t lost on either of them who would most likely be on the call if things went wrong if the bad guys kept to their preferred section of Austin.

TK had spent several hours listening to the radio calls a little more closely than he usually did, hoping that one wouldn’t come requesting the 126 for assistance and that things would go the way that the rangers had planned. He didn’t pray often, but he did that day.

Early in the hours of the morning, Carlos finally makes it home.

Lou II doesn’t seem all that interested in the peppers after the end of the phone call, as if he can feel TK’s despondence. TK gives up on snack time, which he was really only engaging in to kill time until the familiar sound of the door rolling open met his ears. He won’t be hearing that for awhile now.

He didn’t bother making dinner tonight, knowing better than to cook a big meal before he’s certain Carlos will be walking through the door before midnight. He made that mistake one too many times and digging the glass containers out of the cupboard to pack it all up made TK more sad than just digging for whatever leftovers are already in the fridge. Thankfully, he got sent home with some of Paul’s chili from their shift yesterday. No one said anything about it. TK is too embarrassed to ask if they know about how many meals he eats alone.

Coda, Coda, Coda-DD Episode 4

In this post, I asked TDers to be on the look out for the Easter Egg that's not really an Easter Egg which Gimple mentioned on the NYCC panel. It was unclear if he was saying it was in episode 4 or not, but if he did mean episode 4, he was clearly referring to the Coda symbols in this is episode. For a reference as what a Coda is and how it is connected to Beth and her return, here is a wonderful post by @twdmusicboxmystery

I found two coda symbols in the episode. Please let me know if anyone found others. Interestingly, there are other TD related symbols above each of the codas.

In the garage with Theo and the other older gentleman, I don't remember his name, the coda symbol is clearly reflected on the top of the car.

The fact that this coda symbol is literally a reflection on a CAR is like a neon sign for TDers. If Beth did survive by being left in a car, either in the backseat or the trunk, putting the coda symbol on the car would be a clear sign that Beth was "resurrected" from the car as TD believes. Above it is a car sign for a brand of car, these cars no longer sold in North American, with a Chevron pattern like the one in the gray sweater Beth wore during Coda.

Next, there is the coda painted on pillars at the Nest. Soon after Isabelle's Coda-like death, this appears clearly in the shot behind Losang. Above the coda is a compass rose. I won't go over the compass rose symbolism as many other TDers have written about it for years.

So what do these codas mean? If this is the "mythology" Gimple is referring to, why is he calling it out? We know he uses symbols of all kinds in every episode. So, why call out this symbol now? The obvious answer is that the episode is the second Coda and now we will be going back to the first coda and Beth will return. Another NYCC tidbit is that right before the question that elicited Gimple's "Easter Egg" response was a question about crossovers and cameos. Gimple and Zabel looked at each other, laughed, and Zabel said that they are working on something right now.

By the end of season one and now throughout season two of DD, they have clearly repeated parts seasons 4 and 5. Based on this, below is my conjecture as to when Beth will return.

There may be post credits scene that airs after the cable broadcast of 2x6 where we see that Beth is alive like we saw Morgan after 5x8 Coda.

2. It could mean that we are in middle of a replay, but the replay isn't complete. I did a post explaining how we have seen a replay of 5x01, 5x02, and 5x03 here. However, knowing how the rest of the season goes, I don't think we have seen the replay of these episodes yet.

Honestly, as disappointing as it may be, I think season 3 will be about replaying some of these episode before we get Beth.

I'll post more about it later, but we already have a S3 spoiler that during a celebration a military like vehicle pulls up. Then, a man was heard yelling, "They kidnapped my daughter." I believe they were filming episode 2. So, @galadrieljones I believe you were correct about the kidnapping. It's not Laurent but a new character in Spain. Assuming D and C go after the girl, and I am sure they will, that episode may be the replay of Consumed and/or Crossed.

Another confirmation from S3 spoilers is the train connection. Trains are mentioned strangely in a couple of places in episode 4 as @twdmusicboxmystery pointed out in her video. She predicted that we would see a train soon. Guess what? A BTS picture was posted of a yellow(the color of reunion) train being filmed in Spain.

I'll post all the BTS pics I have as soon as S2 is over. I mention all the things TD has been and continues to be right about to show that we should not be too upset if she doesn't show at the end of season 2. She will show soon. Judging by the replays, she will show by the end of season 3 at the latest. Hang in there! In the mean time, Bethyl has the BEST fanfiction writers to keep us entertained!

TD is right. All the signs and symbols point to Beth's return. She will return. Unfortunately, TPTB are not in as a much of hurry to get there as we are.

so i have words for the first time in months ‼️ from a 5x01 coda i hoped to get up before the second episode aired but that’s not going to happen so.. have a few sentences and hopefully a full fic in due course

Carlos’ eyes flutter closed and then back open, shiny now in a heart-wrenching way. The corner of his lip pulls upwards, a half smile that tries to say ‘I’m okay’, that makes TK ache even more for the real thing.

“I love you,” Carlos repeats again, this time with TK actually awake and lucid, “so much baby.”

TK’s eyes sparkle in the low light of the room, the moonlight catching the wet tears that swell in direct reflection of Carlos’ own.

“I love you too” he professes, lets his thumb trace the soft pink lips of his husband, before his thumb falls away and his mouth takes its place, lips pressing together in perfect synchronicity.

His warm tongue traces the seam of Carlos’ lips, and waits for permission to be let inside. Carlos enjoys the familiar feeling of building TK’s anticipation, makes him wait longer than he should before he smiles and opens his month to gently welcome the intrusion– TK’s tongue hungrily sliding against his husbands in an instant.

The kiss is languid, soft and unhurried– as though time exists in a vacuum when they’re together like this, bodies entwined between the safe space of cotton sheets and a feathered duvet.

Carlos sighs deeply, the feeling of a weight being lifted from his chest with every clink of their teeth and exchange of saliva, TK’s and his breaths merging to become one singular life force.

I already have additional thoughts on the coda column (yes that’s now what I’m calling it)…

Below the coda on the column at the very bottom of the column are green triangles.

These look like little trees to me. The symbol that’s on these “little trees” look like coda symbols but also look similar to the symbol from TWD 5x01 when Morgan returns.

He finds these symbols carved into trees and it looks like he’s following them. Morgan also returned in a “coda” or an “after credits scene”. It’s considered a coda because it’s an ending of an episode but it’s an ending separate from the original ending (before the credits).

We never found out what these symbols Morgan followed were (unless we found this out in Fear? I don’t watch it). It could’ve been terminus or the wolves we have no idea but regardless this is yet another tie to TWD season 5 shown in Daryl Dixon. It’s yet another tie to Morgan, Beth, and codas.

Gwen shook her head and dropped all the loops of thread. The array of colors tangled more than the aimless mess she had already made. She couldn't find her mind to stay in place knowing that Arthur and Elyan were out riding right towards Morgana's grasp. 

“My Lady?”

She turned towards the voice and found Sefa stood at the threshold of the door, hands clasped and shoulders lowered in her normal manner.

“May I?” Sefa gestured to the mess of weaved thread. 

The braid was already falling apart from lack of tension but Gwen nodded her head. “Please.”

Sefa kneeled, carding her fingers through the threads and detangling it all back to the start.

Gwen rested a hand on her shoulder when she pulled to get back up. “Join me? Meant for two people after all.”

She nodded and picked up the threads all while Guinevere slotted her own hands into position. She freed her fore finger and weaved it through before pulling the opposite thread across. 

Sefa gave her a fleeting smile as she reached through the threads around her fingers and pulled the farthest to her side. The both of them reset.

“Did your old maidservant used to help you?”

“No.” Gwen pulled and tightened the threads. “I wasn't always the queen.”

“Surely you were just as fine a princess?”

She brushed Sefa's hand and pulled the thread through. “Neither a princess,” she said. 

“Oh.” Sefa stopped before tightening her own threads.

“I was The Lady Morgana's maidservant.”

She pulled her part through and nodded. “Yes, of course.”

The slow start grew quicker as they let repetition take over. The braid formed a start before Sefa slowed and spoke.

“Actually…” She brushed her hand. “If I may speak freely, your majesty?”

“Of course.”

Sefa took a breath and kept her head down as she continued. “I just want to thank you. Most of all for taking me in.”

Gwen stopped and looked at the girl, finding nothing short of earnest on her face as she spoke.

“Not everyone would do such a thing, much less with a position in the royal house.” Sefa looked up with a content smile. “I am indebted to you.”

Gwen shared her smile but shook her head. “Not me,” she said. “I'm the least in the crown of judgment.” She transferred the thread over the others and pulled it through.

“Perhaps the kingdom is only as kind as its queen.”

She started off at the knot at the top of the formed braid, holding everything together. She tried to hold longer onto Sefa's words but found her head flooded quicker with her previous thoughts.

“My Lady?”

“Hm?” She hummed, another plastered smile of courtesy on her face.

Sefa moved her hands and gestured to the threads. “Your turn.”

“Yes.” She weaved her finger through the threads, pulling the nearest one to her other hand. She felt Sefa's hand brush hers again as she tried to let muscle memory take over for any thought.

gimple and kang agree the finale is about completing twd story--not setting up spinoffs. the twd finale concludes the story. even without spinoffs it will feel like closure. this comes from interview with an entertainment mag. my question: i don't see how after the many years of the daryl/beth story being told behind the scenes that their story would not be part of that closure. not that it can't continue in spinoff but it needs acknowledged in twd. your thoughts please.

Well, I have a couple of thoughts here.

First off, any sign of Beth in 11c wouldn't qualify as "closure." It would be a seed or hint that will kick us into the spinoff or some other part of the TWDU. So, I don't think anything with her would qualify as what they're calling closure here.

The other thing I think is intentional here is talk about the finale specifically.

So, they say the finale (in other words, the final episode of S11) will be about closure, shoring up current arcs and the show at large, rather than setting up spinoffs. I believe they're telling the truth about that. They'll need to bring all current arcs to a good ending place.

As we head into the spinoffs, it's clear that most of the settings won't be at Alexandria, so they need to bring the Alexandria arc, in some way, to a good closing point. It's also clear that many of the current, non-mainstream characters won't be continuing with the show in a big way. Maybe we'll see them again in the future, but perhaps not for a few years. So, the writers won't want to leave their arcs hanging.

But I guess my main point is that this applies to the finale episode, not to any of the others. So, this may be confirmation that we won't see Beth in the final episode, but that doesn't mean we won't see her in the coda of an earlier episode. After all, Morgan first showed up in the coda of 5x01, the first episode of that season.

For me, I hope they follow that template and show her to us in a coda of 11x17. No idea if that will happen or not, but I'm hoping.

And, of course there's always the chance that the writers are being sneaky. I mean, if they showed us Beth in a coda of the final episode, would that qualify as being part of the episode? Depending on how they're defining it, they may not consider it a lie. You know how they like to word things carefully, so they're not technically lying, but still giving misdirection.

There's really no way to know for sure until we see how 11c plays out.

So, to answer your question in a nutshell, I do think we'll see Beth in some capacity in 11c. I feel like there's an excellent chance of that. But I don't think Beth and Daryl's meeting and story will be a major part of that. I'm thinking the spinoff will address that more.

a BuckTaylor 5x01 episode coda

The dream, something about rushing water and the horrible feeling of breathlessness, is already receding when Buck jerks awake.  The loft is still dark around him so he rolls over, already reaching for the one person who can chase the bad dreams away.  But instead of Taylor’s warm, soft body that he can pull closer and cuddle into, he finds empty sheets, not yet cold, but cool enough to tell him she’s been gone for some time.  He groans into his pillow, fingers scrabbling against the sheets as if the action alone can make her materialise back beside him.  

But she doesn’t appear and he rolls, disappointed, onto his back so he can stare up at the dark ceiling.  It’s not like her to sneak out in the middle of the night anymore, in fact he’s started to think lately that she enjoys waking up beside him, plucking his shirt off the bedroom floor, and slipping in on to walk downstairs.  At any rate he knows that she knows that he enjoys the sight of her in his clothes, wonders if she does it just so he’ll follow her and tug her close so he can feel every single inch of her pressed up against him.  He’d say things have been borderline domestic between them lately so he has no idea where she might have gotten to.

He’s lying there quietly enough now, one hand tucked beneath his head, that he finally hears it: a quiet tap, tap tapping coming from downstairs.  He squints in confusion, turning his head towards the sound, and for the first time since waking up he notices the faintest blue glow coming from downstairs.  Groaning a little, he pushes himself off the bed and to his feet, leaning over the railing so he can find the source

What he finds brings a tired but delighted smile to his face.

It seems Taylor hasn’t waited for the morning to steal his shirt because she currently sits down at the table, the neckline of one of his LAFD shirts slipping off her shoulder to reveal the lace of her bra strap.  Her bare legs are tucked up beneath her, one bent so she can rest her chin on her knee and she considers the open laptop in front of her.  The long, red hair that he loves so much is bundled up in a pile on her head and the glasses that she only lets him see her wear are perched on the end of her nose.  But his favourite, absolute favourite, part is the expression on her face, furrowed brow, nose delicately wrinkled, and perfect, pink lips quietly forming the words that her fingers type.

He loves her like this.  He loves the way her beautiful blue eyes light up when she gets an idea.  He loves the way they narrow and pierce him to the spot when she’s onto something.  He loves the way she gets something in the head and the way it refuses to leave until she sees it through.  But most of all he loves the way she loves her job.

He wanders over to the staircase and meanders down them, coming up behind Taylor so he can wrap his arms around her and press a tender kiss to her neck.  She makes a vague noise of surprise, as if she hadn’t heard his approach.

“I’m sorry, did I wake you up?  It used to drive my ex crazy.”

“Nope, just woke up and you were gone.  What are you doing?”

“Just some research into that GoGo Anywhere app.”

“Find anything interesting?”

“Hmmm,” she hums mysteriously, making him grin and kiss her again.  “Tay,” he ventures, and smiles when she doesn’t protest the nickname, knowing he’s the only person who could come close to getting away with it.  “Come back to bed?”

She hums but her fingers twitch as though longing to keep writing.  He kisses her one last time and leaves her to it, wandering back towards the staircase.

“You’re going back to bed?” she asks curiously, watching him over her shoulder as he puts his foot on the bottom-most stair.  “I won’t keep you up?”

“Nah.  Keep doing your thing, Taylor.”

She blinks at him, her eyes wide behind her glasses and she slowly looks between her laptop and him again.  Then she reaches out a hand and closes the lid, plunging them both into darkness.  He hears more than sees her untangle herself from the chair, then the soft padding of her feet as she comes closer.

“Seriously, you can keep working, I don’t mind.”

“I know,” she says simply, wrapping her arms around his waist and nestling her head against his chest.  “But it will be there in the morning.”

Buck can’t help but smile as he wraps his arms around her in return and presses a kiss to her sweet-smelling hair.  “Okay,” he agrees quietly, and leads her upstairs.  “Let’s go to bed.”

Thoughts about Spn 14x11

Ugh. This episode. I don’t know what the official timeline on Supernatural is anymore, let’s just hope this episode didn’t take place on Dean’s birthday. I admit I was a bit surprised that this episode picked up directly where 14x10 left us, giving us an answer as to what was written in the book Billie gave Dean. I thought we wouldn’t get an answer to this until the end of the season, and the fact that we see Dean’s big dumb self-sacrifice attempt so early means that this probably not how the season ends. Which I would appreciate because we have seen this story again and again, and we still have Cas’s deal with the Empty and Jack and his soul to be worried about anyway.

Overall I liked this episode. It confirmed what I thought was in Billie’s book, that Dean in some way has to sacrifice himself, but by playing this story out so soon, this is not the direction we are headed, and I like this surprising element. And obviously Dean’s farewell tour gave me all the feels.

But, as always, let’s have a closer look.

Farewell Tour

After last week’s episode many people speculated what was written in Bilie’s notebook, what could prevent Michael from burning down the world. Some, like me, though it would be some sort of sacrifice/suicide mission on Dean’s part, others thought the show would head in a less likely direction and Dean would get his happy end. The episode both confirmed the obvious reading (Dean has to sacrifice himself) but put also a twist on it, because I don’t think the Ma’lak Box will be the final solution. It is similar how in 5x18 Dean was ready to say “yes” to (our) Michael, but that was not how the season ended. And just like back then Dean starts his farewell tour.

Of course season 14 is full of callbacks to season 5. The apocalypse storyline is revisited, but with Michael instead of Lucifer as the Big Bad. Nick, who was introduced in the season 5 opener, plays a larger role. Part of this episode takes place in Mary’s storage room; in 5x01 Dean learns in John’s storage room about his fate as Michael’s vessel. Last week’s episode had many references to 4x01, this week the episode is connected to 5x01. And of course we end the episode with Sam asking since when they believe in fate, because this is what season 5 was all about: fighting destiny, the birth of Team Free Will. Will season 14 do a reversal then with them giving in to fate? Dean after all already said “yes”.

Something I noticed is how each of the people Dean encounters in this episode (Sam, Donna, Mary) can tell something is wrong with him. And especially Sam and Mary suspect that it might be more than just him recovering from Michael. And it is in those little things: that he hugged Sam, that he wanted some time alone with his mother, and that she would made his beloved childhood meal for him. And it reminded me a lot of Jack, who only wanted to spend more time with his family before his death. No bars, no women, none of the usual coping mechanism. Dean at his most vulnerable. And though they weren’t present (but mentioned) I’m pretty sure Dean would have visited Cas and Jack as well (and now I need a lot of angsty Destiel codas).

And speaking shortly about the Winchester Surprise. This episode again reminded us how uncommon Mary is as a mother. The first thing Dean hears when he arrives at the cabin is gunshots and he immediately thinks his mother is in danger, but Mary just shoots pumpkins. In fact we learn that she only ever buys pumpkins, whisky and crosswords, but never food, because she isn’t a great cook. Demons keep away from her and her sons because that is how badass they are. She has a storage room with a severed head in it. And for the feels: the combination for the lock to the room is Dean’s birthday.

Mary on the other hand is reminded again how much she missed out, and how Dean had to replace her, cooking for Sam, trying to give him one good memory of their mom. John of course is mentioned again, unsurprising since we know he will return in 14x13. But Mary is made aware again how messed up her son’s childhood was, how Dean had to be a parent for Sam, and I wonder if this will come up once John returns.

And speaking about emotional conversations: this is the first time Dean tells Sam that he loves him. His actual words are “Sam, you've tried. Cas has tried. Jack... And I love you for trying”. So I guess this is another case of singular vs plural you, because Dean could have only meant Sam, as he was the only one there, or meant all of them, because he mentioned them all. Either way, it is a huge step for Dean, who isn’t with the whole love and love thing.  And we have a repeated pattern with singular vs plural and multiple interpretations and… Dean just said he loves Cas, you can’t take that away from me.

What’s in the box?

Two boxes play a role in this episode: the Enochian Puzzle Box Mary used to trap Abraxas in and the Ma’lak Box Dean built to trap himself and Michael in it. And of course one can’t say box without mentioning Pandora’s Box. In the history of Supernatural opening something never had good consequences. The Winchesters opened the gates of hell and demons escaped. Dean opened the first and Sam the last seal and Lucifer escaped. Sam opened the MoC and the Darkness escaped. In this episode the Enochian Puzzle box is opened and it ends with an innocent man dead. And we know that once the door in Dean’s mind gives in something terrible will happen as well. But we also know that locking someone up is just a temporarily solution, see the Cage or Amara. So neither the door in Dean’s mind, not the Ma’lak Box will contain Michael. They have to find a different solution.

We learn that Abraxas acted on Lucifer’s order when he killed Nick’s family, that Nick was chosen, but not special. Lucifer needed a vessel, any vessel, and he knew that a man full of despair and in deep pain would be the easiest to convince to say “yes”. I wonder if that is now the end of the Nick-Lucifer-Lovestory. Let’s hope so.

And regarding Nick we see both Sam and Dean react quite different to him. Both Winchesters have been in Nick’s situation: they both have been vessels to an Archangel. Sam however shows compassion, he deeply believes that people can be saved, because he needs to believe he can be saved as well. Forgiving Nick was part of Sam’s journey to forgive himself. But after he learns the truth about Nick he expresses his regret, but he also lets him go. Nick is no longer his responsibility. Sam learns that not everything is his fault, that he can’t control everything. And that is a good thing. Dean on the other hand thinks of Nick of someone past saving, because he thinks about himself as someone past saving. There is no hope for Nick because there is no hope for Dean. The way both Sam and Dean react to Nick is telling how they think about themselves.

Some other things

Donna: I just love her. And how she clearly has set up Joe, the grocery guy, not to tell anyone about Mary and to inform her asap when something suspicious happens. Bless her. Also Donna’s type is also Dean’s type, just saying. They have the same taste in burgers just as they have in men.

And last the Book of Jubilees. The SuperWiki tells us this about it: The Book of Jubilees is an ancient Jewish text, not considered canon by most churches. The book classifies angels into four groups: angels of the presence, angels of sanctifications, guardian angels over individuals, and angels presiding over the phenomena of nature. It also covers the genesis of angels and the rise of the Nephilim. Does anyone else think Cas classifies as a guardian angel over an individual?

Okay, so this goes way back in Team Delusional history. During the filming of Coda, Norman posted that he was listening to Drowning Man on set. In his post he made it clear that it was for a sad scene. I remember everyone side-eying this tweet after the episode aired; Norman had basically posted a spoiler about the MSF before the season even aired. A year after the tweet @ysaffia​ looked at posted the lyrics as she thought they were a hint from Norman about Beth’s survival. @bethgreenewarriorprincess​ saw her post and added that in early 2015 interview Norman compared Daryl to an eagle when it came to love. In summer 2015 Norman was posting eagles on his IG pics.

The references to storms reminds me of 5x10 which was filmed a month after Coda, and the phrase “rise up” definitely fits Beth’s return. She would rise up physically, waking up in the car/Grady; she would rise up figuratively as she would be resurrected for the audience. She was running in the opening credits flash that aired from 5x01 to 8x16. Her diary entry from 4x10 referenced how the group always had to live on the run, and it was played as a voiceover to juxtapose Beth and Daryl on the run together. The mention of “this love” also makes me think of Taylor Swift’s This Love which is totally a TD-Bethyl song.

Eagles mate for life (except in events like a partner’s death), similar to wolves, another animal that Bethyl has been connected to. In at least four different interview from 2013 to 2016 Norman has said that once Daryl falls in love, that it’s for him:

“I think if he’s going to zero in on one, it’s going to happen by accident, and he’s not going to be the one zeroing in first. Then he’ll just stay with her. I think he’s like an eagle — once they start flying together, they’ll always fly together.” – Norman Reedus, Entertainment Weekly’s Sirius radio show; February 10th, 2015 (x) (x).

That would be the last fic that I've published I can't imagine my life without you , though it may not have gotten much attention I am still proud of the way that I styled it in a kind of episodic mystery and it was the longest fic that I've written this year which I didn't think I'd be able to do with how busy my year has been

2. least favorite fic you wrote this year

of my published works that would be my 5x01 coda eddie introspection how do you know you're losing control mostly because it feels clunky because was such a rush job but I wanted to pump it out before the next episode and yeahh it could have been better.

3. favorite line/scene you wrote this year

I have already answered this but I have another scene that I love which was TK bringing Carlos frozen blueberries in nights like these I love it because its a quietly gentle moment of TK taking care of Carlos when he wasn't hungry

let me get my calculator out. of my published works I have written 22,069 words this year which is far less than last year of 89,841 words.

Below the coda on the column at the very bottom of the column are green triangles.

These look like little trees to me. The symbol that’s on these “little trees” look like coda symbols but also look similar to the symbol from TWD 5x01 when Morgan returns.

He finds these symbols carved into trees and it looks like he’s following them. Morgan also returned in a “coda” or an “after credits scene”. It’s considered a coda because it’s an ending of an episode but it’s an ending separate from the original ending (before the credits).

We never found out what these symbols Morgan followed were (unless we found this out in Fear? I don’t watch it). It could’ve been terminus or the wolves we have no idea but regardless this is yet another tie to TWD season 5 shown in Daryl Dixon. It’s yet another tie to Morgan, Beth, and codas.

We get a call back to “Still” I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone but it’s not really a major spoiler. They are at The Nest having dinner and Daryl says cheers to everyone in French at the scene pictured above. He then specifically cheers to Isabelle on the side which is a call back to “Still” when Beth and Daryl cheers in the moonshine shack. The cups even look the same as the ones in “Still” (shocking).
