yeah, yeah, damaged goods is probably supposed to indicate that the timeline is getting fucked with, on account of it ending with tens of thousands of people across the UK getting horribly killed in broad daylight by an extradimensional war machine in 1987. but what if that shit just happened. like assuming doctor who takes place contemporary to the date the 'modern day' eps are released ace left earth in early 1987 or earlier. and then they didnt come back for 2ish years. maybe that shit just happened while the doctor was gone and then nobody thought to mention it when they were on earth next. like yeah we all know about the hell machine that made everybodys heads blow up into evil shrapnel. why even bring it up.
