Before tonight's episode, I'm making a quick trip back to episode 1080 for some Big News Morgans appreciation.

Look at him go! The best miserly albatross newsman who loves to play with the line between truth and entertainment. One with a flare for the dramatic. He is honestly one of the best additions to the story and a character I imagine will become a fan favorite in time.

You don't see the anime go for "whiteout" frames that often. It's a big effect in the manga of course, we've mentioned it a few times...but it feels so different in the anime. Naturally, I love it for this very important scene of clown abuse. Oh Buggy. Seeing this again after so long, always thought the Cross Guild stuff was a nice mirror of Wano in the sense that it uses the "legend isn't what happened" theme. But now in hindsight the sieges the Warlords dealt with plays nice with Egghead. Especially how Crocodile stands out in dealing with them. No matter who it is, recall right when we were talking about Jinbei first raising questions of fitting in as a Helmsman we pointed out Crocodile is showing things consistent with a Quartermaster. Which leads me to the last time we have to look at a weird Wano adaptation element:

Last time it was the potential extra person on deck from Chapter 1057. Anime just moved Zoro over but that wasn't really a potential answer. Never thought this one was as strong to begin with and expected the same treatment which we got. Um...never really saw this full scene. Jumped around doing close-ups of the individual elements. Not weird on it's own but given the potential of that shape in the back, how the new cage up front could be a hint at a new role, and the peculiarity we've yet to see family reactions to new bounties on top of Robin playing very coy with the paper having details we don't know...figured it was worth pointing out. Also had a little inconsistency; in the anime the barrel Usopp/Chopper hide behind is the chained up Cairbou one, which doesn't seem to be the case here.

Was curious, figured I'd point it out. While Egghead keeps up the weird storytelling elements, they're more baked in rather than this concept of doing subtle things under a bigger spectacle so there probably won't be much of a point.

I've been (re) watching One Piece and with the English dubs this time around, and I had forgotten how absolutely solid Crocodile's original voice overs are.

Bury me, I can't handle them.

Also, why does that hook rinkle-dinkle like a brass door handle about to come apart? You should probably let Benji take a screwdriver to that before it comes off. I wish I could link 'Beggars Shan't Be Choosers' as to what I am on about, but sad life - I haven't finished editing it yet.

That "Hmm?" noise he makes when turning to look at Mihawk has wormed itself into my brain and made itself at home there.

I love how jinbe is still figuring out the strawhat dynamics and tries to reason with an angry nami or stop zoro and sanji from fighting
