What is your favorite Bible story the people need to know
Hmm..good question. There’s a couple but the first one that comes to mind is Pentecost—like the part where all the Apostles get the Holy Spirit and the tongues of fire appear. Specifically the part where Peter is like “we’re not drunk bro I promise”

hello tumblr user felassan, what was your favourite part of the game? (besides seeing in-game felassan)
hello! ◕‿◕ oh!! that's such a fun question, thankyou for asking.
putting my answer under a cut as it contains spoilers for DA:TV.
it's a cop out maybe but it's a difficult question to answer in a way for two reasons: one, Felassan and the Felassan content was my favorite part of course, and two, there were lots of other things that I loved about the game so it's hard to decide between them. here are some:
I loved the CC - I thought it was really strong. it had so many options and features, aspects like the hair were really pretty and well-done, and the ability to do things like select they/them pronouns and be non-binary in this DA game meant a lot to me đŸ„ș
Solas and Rook's dynamic together was really cool, I thought they played off each other well and interestingly. Solas' appearances during the story were always a highlight and GDL's acting performance in those scenes stole the show.
the whole endgame/Act 3 segment was really gripping, and stressful (but like in a good 'there are stakes, choose wisely oh my goood' way). all the pieces coming together and culminating, each character and faction with a role to play.. a desperate last gambit. and the Varric reveal really got me. àŽŠà”àŽŠàŽż àŒŽàș¶â€żàŒŽàș¶ ) I didn't realize it til the reveal. what a gut punch (/pos). before the game came out I was like 'man, I sure hope the story events in this game rip out my heart and stomp all over it, pls destroy me' [a sincere/genuine wish hhh] and so yea.
other favorite parts of the game and story for me were the Siege/Fall of Weisshaupt (duuuude..!! even knowing beforehand from a gameplay demo video, that was a really intense and epic section of the game.. really raw and metal) and re-living the past and experiencing those lore revelations via the Lighthouse murals.
some of the side characters were super delightful - I really loved Teia and Viago, and Evka and Antoine for instance, and as with seeing Felassan, seeing Strife Dragonage in-game was !!
I also loved exploring Arlathan Forest and Treviso. in general as well I thought the game was super beautiful too, like the vistas and skyboxes, environments, effects, level + environment art and design and everything were all really pretty. lots of beautiful set pieces.

Stoner Leona real and true to me
If you feel like it, could you expand on him? (Doesn't need to be related to the aforementioned headcanon, just go where your heart takes you)
GRAHHH you ask and you shall receive!!!! I even made a banner >:D
Leona Kingscholar General HCs!!!
Tumblr media
How ya’ll likin’ it? (˘⌣˘)â˜†ćœĄ anywayz here we go
He is a piece of shit stoner, yes, but a SEASONED one. In other words he’s been doing this shit for years
Epel tried to ask him for weed advice or wtv and got sat down for a 20 minute explanation and convo (to the point where Epel didn’t even wanna try anymore)
The reason is bc his first time trying it (when he was like???? 16???) was an ACTUAL disaster. I’m talking greening out, throwing up, having a panic attack and thinking his mom’s gonna hang him.
See, for a period of time as a kid, Leona was a MODEL child. Good grades, good behavior, all in the hopes of receiving some praise and attention.
When THAT didn’t work, he flipped it and became the biggest nuisance known to man. And it kinda worked! Until he got tired of actively choosing to be the worst every single day
That’s when he just gave up and started hating people altogether.
Enough angst, Leona is the type to cry when he gets pissed
See, I’m not talking frustrated or annoyed like he usually is, I mean like RIDDLE ANGER LEVELS angry. When that happens, he has to walk out so people don’t see him tear up.
Savanaclaw was all like “woahhh he must be really upset
look at him walking away to maintain his patience
 so epic
!!!1!” When in reality he just can’t afford having his underlings dorm-mates watch him cry.
Don’t let his nonchalance fool you, he’ll beat a bitch for Cheka
This isn’t JUST Leona but everyone in Savanaclaw cries when a dog dies in a movie
Speaking of, animals love him. Much to Ruggie’s jealousy.
A little bit after Cheka was born, Farena kept giving Leona shit about when he’ll settle down with someone of his own, and it annoyed Leona so much he shouted “I’M GAY” in his brother’s face just so he’d shut up.
He in fact, didn’t shut up and tried having a heart to heart with him, so much that Leona was weighing the pros and cons of killing him right there.
He’s bisexual but that’s beside the point,
Leona was fucking THRILLED when Rook wanted to transfer
No I’m dead serious Leona wanted to kick him out but Crowley was being a little bitch about it so he couldn’t.
Usually the transfer process is very lengthy but Leona asked ZERO questions and Rook was out THAT DAY.
As long as he doesn’t have to deal with the Keter level fujoshi that is Rook, he’s happy.
Whenever Idia gushes about cats, Leona instinctively covers his ears bc Rook deadass is that PTSD inducing.
He’s sensitive to light flashes so he almost mauled Cater one time

Hello!!
I was like thinking what nicknames does Idia have for the others?
SSR troublemakers, but what about the rest? Does he have any more?
Hello hello!! Thank you for this question!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition to referring to the overblotters as "SSR Epic Troublemakers" and putting Rook and Trey on a list entitled "Turbo Sus Vice Housewardens to Be Avoided at All Costs Rankings", I am not sure there are too many others outside of Riddle! :>
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He also ranks Kalim first on his tier list of "Night Raven College's Most Cheerful Characters" and asks if all Heartslabyul students think they're shounen manga protagonists, but I am not sure this counts?
He also refers to Epel as "Pomefiore fancy pants" and Malleus as a "balance-breaking character."
As covered in Idia's Honorifics Compilation, Idia has multiple nicknames for Riddle!
Tumblr media
EN will switch between Idia calling Riddle "Taskmaster" or "Instructor," but his original nickname for Riddle of Riddleæ•™ćź˜ is consistent.
Tumblr media
Idia will also call him "demon-instructor Riddle," which has been localized as "Mr. Impossible-to-Please" on EN.
Tumblr media
A new Riddle nickname was introduced during Glorious Masquerade (where æ•™ćź˜ was again localized as "taskmaster" rather than "instructor"): on EN, Idia calls Riddle Mr. Zero EQ.
In the original game this is technically two nicknames, with Idia going from "the man who can't empathize with anyone" to "the man who absolutely can't empathize with anyone" as the situation gets worse.
I think this might be most! :> Hope this helps!

20 questions for fanfiction writers
Hewwo!!! TYSM to the lovely @sunny374940 & @andthekitchensinkao3 for tagging me in this!!! ;0; I appreciate youse so much ! <3 Answers under the cut ! <3
1) How many works do you have on AO3?
Only 8 so far! My disabilities can stop me from writing as much as I'd like to sadly but I hope to get at least 1 out a month from here on out!
2) What's your total AO3 word count?
Apparently: 20,635 ! I didn't actually expect it to be that much lmfao
3) What are your top five fics by kudos?
Would You Fall In Love With Me Again? - Emrook Angst / Comfort: After trying to claw his way out of the fade for the past 7 years, Rook is pulled back into Thedas only to be confronted by the fact that time passes differently outside of the Fade. {Ft. Fade Prison Trauma Nightmares!}
2. Market Memories - Emrook Angst / Comfort: Rook takes Emmrich to a small market nearby where Rook grew up, however shit hits the fan when they run into someone from Rooks past. that he'd rather forget.
3. Trust & Fish Sticks - Fluffy Sad That heavily features Emrook: This is a short sad & fluffy piece I wrote on Rook Mercar taming & adopting the angry dog that keeps barking outside of the dog crates in Dock Town.
4. Gone Too Soon - A short sad hurt/comfort piece I wrote on Rook Grieving the loss of a friend {Post Cage for Gods - Davrin}. Funny how my fave pieces are all the most popular haha, I need to trust my gut more it seems!
4) What fandoms do you write for?
I only write for Dragon Age atm! I am heavily influenced by Epic the Musical so who knows maybe I'll do some Epic Fanfic in the future! Or something else, I DAV tore me out of a like several year writers block so I'm just taking what comes inspo wise atm!
5) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Omg ofc! The comments always give me a huge inspirational boost and is honestly a large reason I've managed to write more after the first piece! Checking my comments & kudos is one of my favourite things to do honestly - it's the least I can do to respond once I see them!
6) What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Okay so, most of my endings are all fluffy lmfao. I START with angst and then let the boys comfort eachother by the end! Though I guess the one that would class is "Gone Too Soon" since it leaves both Emmrich and Rook still heavily grieving Davrin. This fic was so hard to write it made me so sad :<
7) What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
"Trust & Fish Sticks" for sure!!! Manfred and Doggo are besties, Doggo gets to be part of a loving family, the events of Veilguard are over & Rook & Emmrich have a very fun night ahead of them! ;)
8) Do you get hate on fics?
Thankfully no & I hope I never do! I still can't fathom that some people are that cruel honestly :<
9) Do you write smut?
I *used to* back when I was writing fic years ago, but that was a different fandom & my comfort with sex has evolved over the years as I've realised I'm like a sex neutral GrayAce lmfao. Shit doesn't cross my mind 90% of the time XD
10) Do you write crossovers?
I *used to* not since I returned to fanfic though!
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't *think* so? I certain hope not!
12) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not to my knowledge!
13) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Nah, maybe at some point in the future though! Guess it depends on how my latest fanfic journey goes in future! :3
14) What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Oh shit why would you ask me thiiiiiis!!! ;0; /lh I think ATM it's definitely Emrook BUT I've had so many in the past honestly!
15) What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I WILL finish it I promise, I'm desperate too ;0; Anyway it's a fic that goes through My Rook Mercars 7 years stuck in the fade. There will be 7 chapters - 5 with each one being an exploration of 1 of the 5 Stages of Grief & how it relates to Az's time in The Prison. Then the last 2 chapters exploring some of the after effects that I haven't covered in prev fics yet! :3
16) What are your writing strengths?
I hear I'm great at making people suffer asdfgjkl; On a serious note I think I'm really good at editing? Honestly proof reading & editing is when I get most of my better work in fics done imo! My works usually AWFUL till then haha
17) What are your writing weaknesses?
Actually getting shit STARTED!!! I struggle to actually put fingies to keyboard and start the process more often than not. Once I've started though I can lose myself in the flow and shit becomes a lot easier! Oh and punctuation for sure. I like weird sentence structure I'm sure I'd be stripped of my Degree if any of my old writing proffs saw me now lmfao
18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I have never tried it, though I can barely manage writing in my own language in general SO I think I'll stick to that lmfao.
19) First fandom you wrote for?
Tim Burtons Alice & Wonderland! I'll actually go further: My next were Charlie McDonald x Matt Smith's Dr Who; BBC's Sherlock & then CW's Supernatural asdfghjkl. Yes I was a SuperWhoLockian & YouTuber Obsessed Child, try not to bully me too hard lmfao
20) Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
It's definitely "Would You Fall In Love With Me Again?" I went into some sort of wild trance and it suddenly existed. I barely had to edit it for once & it is 2 of my current special interests {DAV & Epic The Musical} so likeeeee lmfao
Here's some no pressure taggies! @hyperions-light ; @ofcrowsanddragons ; @taashyvashedan ; @thedissonantverses ; @caughtnyact ; @fangbangerghoul ; @redheadsramblings ; @basedonconjecture

more veilguard thoughts! minor spoilers below cut
stuff im liking:
still having fun with combat
level design has been good, tons to explore, solid puzzles. beautiful environments. im liking how distinct and lived in the big cities are feeling.
i am liking lucanis more than i expected.....i know Everyone is simping over him but.. i might have to as well and romance him instead of bellara 🙈
im liking how bite sized the codex entries are. makes it easy to read them all on pickup whereas in inquisition sometimes it was like godddd i want the lore but i dont wanna read five pages right now
petting cats and dogs! i love the haptic purring, that's a really good way to do it (i would honestly love to see that polished even further with variations + meowing/whining/sniffing/licking sounds thru the controller but hey, it's a tiny part of the game and what they have is fine)
the resource economy is feeling pretty decent to me, im motivated to seek out collectables, i buy stuff from vendors often, i understand the upgrade system enough to inform my decisions. it feels very god of war or ghost of tsushima. so my only worry is that i might just get bored of it after many hours as i did in those games (which, i think the solution to that is for the level design to keep things interesting and satisfying enough that theyre rewarding even without the collectibles. so we'll see)
stuff im not really liking
overall plot so far feels Just Okay. but i felt that way about 2 and inquisition too lol
it is actually starting to really bum me out that you can't talk to people at will. like, the lack of dialogue choices in it, for a bioware game, is troubling to me. these settings and characters are interesting and filling me with many questions! i want to be able to dive deeper into them, but i just cant. you just get barks for all the world npcs. and the lack of choices really makes rook feel more like a prewritten/predestined character rather than one that's really yours to characterize. i realize it's a lot of writing and voice acting $$ to have that many dialogues, but that's one of the main selling points for bioware games for me... and it feels weird that other games are now doing it better than dragon age.
similarly the lack of continuity of choices from previous games makes me sad.
i still haven't gotten all that far, but i am several hours in at this point, and i gotta say i am kinda missing side quests a bit... related to the point about lacking world dialogue, but the world is feeling a little bit underwhelming in terms of the character and lore context/depth that i find myself wanting. which was a big problem for me in inquisition as well. like sure, there are collectables and hidden paths and puzzles to navigate through, and those are absolutely a huge improvement over inquisition's. but those don't give life and flavor and narrative depth to the environment the way that having meaningful interactions with npcs does. the barks are nice, but they leave me wanting significantly more in terms of interaction and depth.
im gonna keep comparing it to god of war (2018 - haven't played ragnarok yet) since that's really the closest thing its reminding me of. and while i loved god of war, i did feel like its world was very lonely. it made up for it with its extremely honed in narrative focus on the journey of the two established characters, and the quality of its writing and voice acting both for their dialogues and the few quests with other characters. it's not a game about the setting or how it shapes the characters that live there, it's about a grieving father and son who happen to be gods.
whereas dragon age IS about its world almost as much as it is about its characters. and with such a rich setting with three prior entries to build on, it seems kind of a shame to let players explore all these places we've heard about but not meaningfully interact with the characters there outside of Big Epic Story Moments or companion-focused quests, especially when you could in the previous games.
anyway.... much to think about... still enjoying it, still have more thoughts as i keep playing

Will Ty Call on God Himself to Defeat Lucifer and Release Livvy in TWP?
Tumblr media
Bringing back the dead, Johnny Rook had always said, warped the fabric of life, the same way making humans immortal did. Invite in death, and it would stay. Could anyone bring back the dead and have it work? Kit had asked him once. Even the most powerful magician? God, Johnny had said, after a long, long pause. God could do that. And those who raise the dead may think they are God, but soon enough they will find out the lie they have believed. - Lord of Shadows
When reading this excerpt from Lord of Shadows, it makes me consider what consequences Ty will have to suffer in TWP for bringing back Livvy. Invite in death and it would stay. We know that Magnus can sense dark magic on Ty like it's a cloud around him and that there's something like a necromantical string of magic that connects Ty to Livvy. He's literally "warped the fabric of life."
From TDA, we know that it can take extremely drastic measures to remove strong bonds of Magic. To remove Emma and Julian's parabatai bond one of them would have had to be stripped of their marks or they would have had to destroy all the parabatai bonds that existed. Only an act from heaven itself (turning into actual Nephilim) spared them from having to choose between those two options. Similarly, we see that the only way that Clary was able to bring Jace back from the dead is by the help of Raziel himself, a supreme heavenly being. When Johnny says that only God could bring someone back, he was being truthful. So, it seems that the only way for Ty to truly heal or undo the damage he has wrought by raising Livvy is to get Heaven itself to intervene.
TWP will call the whole fate of the Shadowhunting world into question and will change their world forever. I know their fate is most likely called into question because of Janus and whatever he sets in motion. Ash even hints at this in SOBH in a letter to Janus. But what if it's also because of the intervention that Ty will have to receive to solve his necromancy issue? If we think about the villain the TWP gang will be facing, Lucifer himself, then we have to also consider who is archenemy has always been: God. We also know that Cassie has already stated that TWP will turn on pieces of Biblical Mythology and that TWP is set up to be the ultimate closer to the Shadowhunter Chronicles. Well, when looking at the Bible and the Book of Revelation (the last book of the Bible that depicts the ultimate final battle between God and Lucifer), we see God seal Lucifer up in hell with his demons for good in the Battle of Armageddon, epically defeating him.
So, what if Ty calls God Himself down to finally defeat Lucifer and Janus which in turn burns up the necromantical bond he shares with Livvy because of being in the presence of God, the purest and most holy being that exists? We know that Ty has a way of summoning people (like how he did with Annabel) and getting things done that should be altogether impossible (raising Livvy). We also know that being in such close proximity to Heavenly power can destroy things like with Emma and Julian's parabatai bond. It would also check the boxes of turning on Biblical mythology by directly paralleling the book of Revelation and would very effectively change the Shadowhunters' world forever. If Lucifer is banished with his demons by God then Shadowhunters no longer have the one thing that defines their entire life: fighting demons. (I honestly hope that just Princes of Hell get banished and not all the demons. I think it would be an incredibly awful way to end TSC if Shadowhunters just lost their entire purpose for existing.)
I'm quite positive this would release Livvy to the afterlife and I believe that both her and Ty will be aware of this if/when they do call on God. I can very much see this as the moment that Ty comes to fully accept that Livvy is truly gone, that this is what must be done. I also believe this will serve as the moment where Livvy finally gets to take control of her situation as a ghost because I believe they will mutually agree to do this. She'll finally get to be that protector that she's always wanted to be. Plus, they'll actually get to properly say goodbye this time.
I believe that towards the end of TWP, Ty will be a pariah in the Shadowhunting universe for raising Livvy. This could be his moment of redemption in their eyes, could finally give Livvy peace, and would save the entire world in the process. It would also be the most powerful ending the TSC universe has ever seen, which would be fitting for its final one.
(I know this probably seems incredibly out there, but I would really love to see what any of you think of this theory. I also think that they would more likely call on Raziel instead, since he created them if I’m remembering correctly.)

So I’ve made an OC spirit companion for Dragon Age Veilguard and shared them on Discord with some friends who seem to love them. So I’m putting them out here for the enjoyment of the masses, it’s mostly just companions chatting. This will probably be a little long so more under the cut.
Trivia is a knowledge spirit, they’re a fount of useless information in their own words. They’re a Modern Character in Thedas but it’s been so long that they’ve forgotten most of their personal stuff. They remember really random things that don’t really apply to Veilguard, ie. Alistair’s love of cheese and how to get the flower crown in DAI.
To gain Trivia as a companion you find the (Rook’s class weapon) of Great Knowledge, it’s been locked away for a while, and you have to use it in a fight which triggers after you pick it up, it auto equips. Trivia calls out tips during the fight and introduces themselves afterwards. They’re an epic weapon who’s energy type swaps to whatever the enemy is weak to (type advantage is trivia :3c)
Trivia’s quest would be a one off area full of simple puzzle traps and all the other chests are full of “valuable items” and apparel. You get to the ruin and there’s a “speak friend, and enter” type puzzle. Then a big room with the lasers and branching rooms with companion based puzzles you have to do to power the lasers, it’s all more tedious than hard.
Here is where I had the most fun writing some companion dialogue.
Sometime after Spite saying they wanted to eat a candle.
Trivia: “Did you know that there’s a way to make wax edible? (Insert explanation about those soda shaped candies that you had to bite to get the juice out of)”
Spite: “The candles can be edible!”
Another Trivia and Spite early interaction.
Trivia: “Did you know that nugs can be grown large enough for a Qunari to ride on?”
Spite: “Fascinating Lucanis! We must acquire one!”
Facts about Tranquility
Trivia: “Did you know that to become a Seeker you must be made Tranquil?”
Lucanis: “How does that even work?”
Trivia: “Well you’re put into solitary confinement for ages to meditate on one thing and then there’s a ritual where a spirit, usually Faith, touches you and you’re back to normal.”
Lucanis: “Mierda”
Spite: “ cackles Madness!”
Trivia: “If you think that’s wild you should ask me about broodmothers”
Davrin or Warden Rook: “Do Not”
Some facts about the body
Trivia: “Did you know that bodies consistently shed their skin? They get basically a new body about every 7 years.”
Taash or Rook: “Flesh is weird”
A question on blood magic
Trivia: “Did you know bodies are made of at least 70% water?”
Harding: “Does that mean blood mages specialize in water magic? Does that mean all ice mages can also do blood magic?”
Neve: (awkward silence) “Don’t look at me! I’ve no idea.”
A continuation on blood magic
Harding: “Hey Trivia, did you know that lyrium is the blood of the titans?”
Trivia: “No I did not! Thank you for telling me 😃”
Neve: “Maybe that makes blood magic earth focused?”
Trivia: “Possibly, I’d have to ask Knowledge. Granted I’d have to find them first, they flit through the different libraries so much they’re hard to track down.”
Annoying
Taash: “What’s the most annoying song you know?”
Trivia: starts singing Sera Was Never
Taash: “That one’s not that annoying.”
Trivia: “Maybe not but it’s the only one we have the copyright to.”
Taash: “What?”
Trivia: “What?”
Creation story (based off a fun fact from this TikTok, possible spoilers for Davrin’s recruitment)
Trivia, after meeting Antione: “Did you know that everyone looked like Antione in the beginning?”
Rook: “No, but how?”
Trivia: “The Makers hadn’t created any other face at the time.”
Bellara: “Wait wait wait. Makers? With an S?”
Trivia: “Yes, there were a great many working on this world. It’s sad that we lost most of them by the end of creation.”

Your Top 5 3 stories by kudos (A lot of my old stuff is lost to time on like old BBS, blogs, etc, my current AO3 account is pretty new)
Foretold Loss (Dragon Age: The Veilguard)
I'm sorry, I love you still (Dragon Age: The Veilguard)
I love you, I'm sorry (Dragon Age: The Veilguard)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I typically try to, but tend to get hung up on feeling like I shouldn't if I don't have something worth while to really say/add/convey/answer. Like, will it feel spammy to get an alert email that there's a reply to your comment of me just going, "Thank you!"
Do you write crossovers?
I've fiddled with a few that aren't published, but usually shy from them. They can be fun experiments though.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Oh yeah. I hope I write the Emotionally Devastating kind.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! I have quite a few unpublished ones that have gone back and forth for years, but linked above, "I love you, I'm sorry," and "I'm sorry, I love you still," were both co-written with @bloodydifficult. These were spawned by her asking if I'd like to collaborate on a Neve/Rook break up fic, and the sequel was due to us wounding the readers so badly they needed a happy ending.
What's your favorite all time ship?
I'll admit Neve/Rook from Dragon Age has pretty much eaten my brain at this point. I've been fond of plenty of classics like Korra/Asami from Avatar: The Legend of Korra, or Jesse/Emily from Control, but Neve is... the most I have been catered to ever by a fandom, much less a video game.
What's a WIP that you want to finish but probably never will?
Someone made a joke about how Veilguard would have been a shorter game if Neve had been a charge which I couldn't argue given she was the brains behind my Chaos Gremlin Punch First Ask Questions Later Rook, so got to thinking that an AU of her heading things up could be amusing. I doubt I'd have the motivation to do something that big given only a handful of things actually interest me about it, like Neve arguing with Solas during the meditations, or what the Prison of Regrets would look like for her.
What are your writing strengths?
Character development and a willingness to pivot the plot in accordance with what makes sense for where the characters are at.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Descriptive language outside characters, such as action or scene setting.
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet, but want to?
Cyberpunk fascinates me, but the depth of the lore is a bit intimidating.
What's your favorite fic you've written?
Of published stuff, "I'm sorry, I love you still," had such an ease to writing it despite its length that I think comes across. Unpublished, there's some pretty epic and angsty Star Wars collabs I did where Luke died and Leia was the last Jedi that have given me many laughs as I co-wrote it with a buddy.
Tagging @swamp-jello, @bloodydifficult, @neveschampion :D

Twisted Wonderland theory
So we know and have agreed that Yuu(MC) came from another world that doesn't have a quick home, but some things don't line up.
For being from a world without magic, seeing it in action doesn't really surprise them. They were quick to learn how magic works, even if they can't use it themselves. They remember going through the forest in the carriage, yet not remember signing up for the college?
So, and hear me out, what if the character of Yuu is native to Twisted Wonderland, but they don't remember due to influence from the player. We see this before from another game in Disney, even if it's impossible for the character to forget a detail like that.
Epic Mickey 2. Where we go through the tutorial, a tutorial which shouldn't logically happen since Mickey knows the song and dance already from the first game.
So here me out: Yuu(the character) is native to Twisted Wonderland. But that begs the question: Everyone is twisted from a pre-existing character in Disney canon, and if Yuu is native Twisted, who are they twisted from? Well, obvious answer is obvious.
They're twisted from Mickey Mouse.
When Mickey first gets through and first properly talks to Yuu, he uses the exact same foggy black speech bubble that Yuu has whenever they have the dreams/visions. Yuus height is canonically unverified by Rook, similar to Mickey where his height can change depending on what's needed. Yuu can somehow connect with everyone very easily and will only resort to a fight if there's no other choice, similar to Mickey.
Yuu finds it hard to say no, even without being hypnotized to say yes *cough* Jamil *cough*, and Mickey almost never hesitates to say yes when he has to help someone. Yuu is clearly meant to be a people pleaser, and Mickey is absolutely a people pleaser. Yuu gets spooked by ghosts but can easily cool their head and help Grim beat them, just like Mickey in the ghost short shown in House of Mouse: House of Villains. Even the ghosts are the same! And when Mickey gets through more clearly and explains his situation about Twisted Wonderland in Book 5(minor spoilers), he explains how his friends never heard of it and one even said it was probably a prank. Which is EXACTLY what happened to Yuu at the start of the same Book! There's even a speech choice that says this! Meaning they did the exact same thing and had theorized the same thing before finding it was indeed real(believing it was a dream before realizing it was real).
So yes, even if they aren't native to Twisted, the similarities between Yuu and Mickey is a lot. Almost too many. I probably even missed some myself, so who knows?! It could be stronger than I thought!
Edit cuz I found two more parts: Yuu is supposedly really good with a sword and they struggle with potions, as stated by Silver and Crewel respectively. You know who else fits that?
Mickey Mouse.
The latter given what happened in Epic Mickeys prologue, and the former cuz he is a Keyblade Master! That's not even going into the Mousequeteers!

Molly!Rook vs Adventurous Spirits
Blackthorne Manor, Again
Lucanis: I notice that you are not complaining that Rook is ... 'picking up unconsidered trifles', I think you said? In your friend's manor.
Emmrich: For one, I'm ... not really sure if I can call her 'friend', anymore. For another, this is not Johanna's manor; this is the manor of the sadly deceased Blackthornes. Also, most of this has been mouldering for quite some time - woefully neglected. I only wish Rook's carrying capacity was enough to rescue more of this library.
Molly!Rook: I'm picking up the ones I think you'd really want to save, Emmrich. Except the ones that actively snarl at me.
Emmrich: Oh, that's the one we want! ...Wait. More than one of the books snarls at you?
Molly!Rook: I'm just grateful they're not actively biting me. Anyway, I think this one is it? And I've got a few interesting tomes for you, a couple of the steamier romances for Bellara, and a couple that sound gory enough to satisfy Harding for awhile.
Emmrich: You rescued the fiction?
Molly!Rook: Veil Jumpers study all aspects of the cultures we're studying. You can tell a lot about a culture from its fiction ... at least partly because sometimes it's not fiction. It's just a matter of separating the noteworthy from the nugshit. Now, let's get Manfred to make some necromancer's day. ...Maybe the book won't snarl at him.
Awhile later, in the cellars and sub-basements
Emmrich: This has been quite the day already! Infiltration and stealth ... speaking to the ancient Blackthorne dead ... Manfred talking! I think I'm taking quite a shine to adventure! Now, we just need to find what Johanna's planning--
Lucanis: ...Rook? What's that look?
Molly!Rook: That was a very. Big. Skeleton.
Emmrich: Nonsense. No one could power--
Elevator: *stops to reveal ... very. Big. Skeleton*
Emmrich: ...oh my word...
Molly!Rook: My word for this is generally "fuck", but...
One epic sacrifice and ass-kicking later, in a scene I could not make better if I tried - back in the Necropolis
Lich Lord: YOU CAN HAVE YOUR WARD BACK, OR BECOME A LICH. NOT BOTH.
Emmrich: Before you say anything, Rook, it's because we're supposed to be able to handle death, as we'll see so much of it throughout our immortality, and--
Molly!Rook: No. Well, yeah, partly, but that's not all of it. Manfred's your ward. Basically your child.
Emmrich: Um...
Molly!Rook: You created a body to hold a spirit, and then raised the spirit in that body. Taught him how to walk ... taught him how to talk, apparently ... taught him a whole lot more about how the world works, clothed him, sheltered him, provided for him, named him, assigned him a gender that he doesn't seem to take any issue with so far, assigned him chores, praised and disciplined and if you didn't know what I was talking about, what would you think I was talking about?
Emmrich: ...That ... is a very good point.
Molly!Rook: You can't have two immortalities, is what they're saying. And that's what children are. At the end of the day, we are spirits nurtured in whatever vessel we happened to find. Manfred's the same as any of us. As a lich, maybe you'll teach facts, but you won't raise anyone. You can be a repository of knowledge, preserved like a good library book ... or you can have the courage to really experience the world, and change it with your whole heart into the best form you can, and then pass that world to your son when you're gone. And one day, he or someone he raised will maybe call a wisp of Adventure to inhabit a body, and that'll be part of you.
Emmrich: ...A wisp of Adventure, you say?
Molly!Rook: Sure. I figure a little of who we are remains in the bones - or an imprint of us, maybe - and the rest of us scatters, seeds of the new people that'll be born one day. Maybe my spirit was a wisp of Curiosity once. And you have the fuel for more than a few wisps of Adventure in you. Anyway, the question isn't whether to give up your immortality. It's what form you want it to take.
Emmrich: And in my place, you would...?
Molly!Rook: In case I haven't made it obvious already ... I'd pick family over forever, and love over lichdom. I am a forest creature who belives in growth, not stasis. But it really is up to you.
Emmrich: You are full of surprises, Rook. And quite right, as well.
Not very long later, after a touching resurrection scene
Molly!Rook: Emmrich, have you seen Lucanis? I was-- Oh. Guess I looked in the right place.
Lucanis: Rook; perhaps you can help Emmrich with matters of romance. You would be far better at this than I am.
Emmrich: Hardly the admission you want to make in front of your paramour, Lucanis.
Lucanis: Well, they like coffee. And knives. Also they know Strife.
Molly!Rook: Strife? Really? ...When I said to really experience the world, you listened, didn't you?
Emmrich: Well ... we'd been flirting and ... now there is to be an outing and I don't know what kind of outing to have with a man of adventure! Or ... would he want respite from adventure, all things considered?
Molly!Rook: Strife likes to show off. Go cave-crawling. Hold your own but let him save you from something nasty at least once. And since I'm such a nice person, I'll look after Manfred while you're gone.
Emmrich: Oh, surely we won't be gone that long. Not on a ... first outing... Would we?
Molly!Rook: Well, I mean, first of all, his picnics are generally two-day expeditions, so yeah, you really would. Also, you may be used to Nevarran propriety and all that, but that doesn't fly in Arlathan Forest so if you display full and enthusiastic consent, you are getting so laid.
Strife: *enters* Okay, what's the wastrel telling you about me?
Emmrich: Oh ... just that you might enjoy exploring the caves behind that one large waterfall. I was going to offer to bring them anything particularly useful or shiny we come across as payment for looking after Manfred.
Molly!Rook: *slight smirk* Also how much rope you'll need. *to Emmrich's aghast expression* You're going to be climbing...
Emmrich: ...Right! Yes! Of course! *hurries off to collect some things*
Strife: *watching Emmrich exit* Adventurous sort, for a city mage. Good butt, too. ...Lots of uses for rope. Depending on what he's into.
Molly!Rook: Look, you do you ... or him, assuming consent ... but leave me out of it. I can warn and I can tease, but I'm not getting any further involved in the boots-knocking of Father Figure and Benevolent Intellectual Uncle. Just remember you're getting involved with a single parent.
Strife: ...wut.
Manfred: *walking over in full apprentice regalia* Hello!
Strife: ...WUT.
Molly!Rook: See? Now you and Emmrich have things to talk about when your mouths aren't otherwise occupied!
Strife: ...You are a gremlin.
Molly!Rook: Aww. I miss you too, Strife.

25: What specialization best represents your Rook?
Thank you so much! I even have cool weapon shots to go with this one, lol!
[50 questions for Rook! (Non-spoiler Edition)]
Tumblr media
Minerva I intend to build with the Slayer specialization because... women with epic giant axes, tbh. What more do I need to say? xD But also because she's inspired by a dragon hunter oc I had several years ago, and giant weapons seem appropriate for fighting some of Thedas's most giant beasties! It's also been hella fun so far. She's not far enough along yet to actually be within the specializations yet, but the Weapons area skills around it that lead into this specialization chain have been so much fun already. Thank you Veilguard for giving me a fun time playing Warrior for the first time in this series, lol! I hadn't been entirely married to a damage type to hone in on with her just yet, but the burning weapons on takedown effect with the dragon hunter inspiration? Heavily leaning into the fire theme, I think!
Also, of my 3 started Rooks so far, she's 1 of 2 whose specialization doesn't match their faction, lol, which is a lot of fun, I think. Min is a Grey Warden! And she's the only one I have action photomode shots of so far, lol, which is both because I simply had that much fun with how her build's going and bc I... might've not thought about it for the first 2 because I was busy doing story, lol.
But we'll give them some love, too, because I'm feeling self-indulgent <3 [Slightly more spoilery nature for the boys' pics because they're from cutscenes]
Tumblr media
Tyr's my Rogue, and a Duelist. Tbf, I'd already pretty much determined he was going to be m first + main + most likely canon Rook, but the second they dropped dual wielding melee Rogue, there was absolutely no other way he'd ever have been played unless I'd absolutely sucked at the build, which thankfully wasn't the case because I adored it. It was everything I needed and wanted from a gameplay perspective + what I wanted to replicate the fighting style I'd imagined for him.
Right up until they'd released the backstory tidbits, I'd been on the fence between setting him up as a Shadow Dragon or an Antivan Crow, after all, so it just worked out that the Shadows fit his backstory better, but his fighting style is still heavily aligned with what likely influences the image of the Crows. (And as a bonus fun fact, when I'd put him in Inquisition for fun, I think he would've ended up with Josephine, so another little fun dueling moment for him, lol.)
Heavily a necrotic damage + stagger & takedown build. Not just because they have epic, powerful detonations with his beloved Neve, but that was certainly a cherry on top! xD
Tumblr media
Which leaves us with Theo, who is ironically the only one who seems to have listened to the memo about the faction-theming with the specializations for all the other listening he hasn't done, according to Viago's complaints. xD Theo's my sword & orb Spellblade, who - as you may guess from that - also nearly ended up as a Rogue and who I might play around with a Rogue build for one day. Outside of DAV, Theo's original training was as a dual-dagger type rogue who started to dabble in learning about magic after one of his early jobs went a little sideways and had him on bedrest for a while. And Theo simply could not take staying completely idle like that for long. Sort of as a happy accident then because purple's kind of his color, it's worked really well that this is a heavily-lighting damage focused build and I think his hotbar is... completely shock & lightning based skills atm. And they are so pretty. As a backup, I've got a little necrotic damage going on with his staff usually.
I'd really just told myself I wasn't allowed to play two duelists back to back. xD Maybe if I go with a Rogue rebuild, I'll give saboteur a try? He gets along well with Bellara and Emmrich because he... well, Viago would probably say he's the type that can't leave well enough alone even when it's going to bite his hand, but at its best, it's curiosity with how to make odd things work. His DAV edition in particular can be quite a bit emotionally... charged, but he's also kind of the epitome of an improviser. The only direction to move is forward, and Theo's adaptable enough to tackle that with a sledgehammer or a lockpick as the situation calls for.
