watching the beginning of this show knowing what becomes of them has had me thinking about youngkyu a whole lot more. and how this specific hand gesture is repeated when they’re older, except at that point their hands are (at both memorable times) stained with blood… and bangwon reaches out as a way to remind youngkyu of everything between them. not just of duty, but friendship and devotion.
#star stumbles#kdrama#six flying dragons#star rewatches sfd#idk how long this rewatch will be but i could no longer resist#and just got touched by this specifically#because youngkyu watches bangwon grow from child to adult#from visionary to revolutionary to usurper#and the whole time he just watches. sometimes he offers his opinion but at the end of the day he only follows bangwon#when everyone else puts down their foot youngkyu still does what is asked of him without fail#even when it is horribly traumatizing (ep 36 if you know what i’m saying)#and bangwon capitalizes on that and uses this to manipulate youngkyu#which i think youngkyu knows…but at the end of the day they are so aware it doesn’t matter#because of the nature of their relationship#thinking about youngkyu watching like 10-12 bangwon be horribly changed and what can he do about it but watch?

“I’ll be frank.” “Either you have me act as your girlfriend or you’re gonna meet that teenager in a week and pray that she cheats on you down the line so the engagement gets cancelled.”
SYNOPSIS. Orter Madl's month has been nothing but blind dates inhibiting his work at the Magical Power Administration. All set up by his parents. He's suggested into a relationship of convenience by the woman who occupied his position previously, Rinka Ontarin, in order to solve his problem. Reluctantly accepting the proposal, they must now convince the whole kingdom of their romance whilst fulfilling their duties as Divine Visionaries. More questions arise than answers though as the strings are slowly unraveled.
NOTES. Inspired by business proposal the kdrama, title taken from dreamcatcher's starlight, lots of world-building headcanons, we're following the plot of mashle but it's more obvious later on, also in the same universe as my LOSER=LOVER fic with my other mashle oc, no love triangle, nvm i added a love 'triangle' but that's if you really squint your eyes, NVM IT'S GONNA BECOME CANON ADJACENT???
WARNINGS. Cringe rom-com (let's have fun shall we?), they're kinda ooc sometimes, possible descriptions of death and blood, off screen character deaths with lots of plot importance :>, slow burn in terms of plot and romance, planned bittersweet/sad ending, OH and random swearing?, I'm still writing it so please don't ask me about an update schedule.

Let's have fun! and pray I don't ghost this fic. I wanna change the fic title so hard but I dunno what to name it. So currently it stays because I want to share.
UPDATE I'm rewriting it slowly on AO3 as ALL OR NOTHING instead

do you think season 1 is salvageable? i’m clinging to hope they’ll at least give jinx’s story a decent conclusion but i fear everything will crumble to the power of ship pandering and slapdash redemption arcs. is there anything you would have done differently if you were writing the show (besides rancid lesbian sex)
I really don't know how act 3 could be good I think I'm just along for the wild ride at this point. and to see everyone become progressively hotter
I think everything will always come down to way too many plots there's just no way to make this work in 9 eps. cause what they needed was more rounds of editing, more time to write and more space to develop these storylines because I don't hate the bones - except for warwick and jinx and vi that's just bad. I would make one of them kill warwick sorry I think that would be peak angst and peak reason to ignite a proper fight and make it or break it and make jinx crash out fully. sorry that I'm a visionary!! I would write the kid out and focus on jinxs relationship to zaun and sevika before bringing in warwick and connecting that with vis storyline. and I would make caitlyn worse like after act 1 direction I just don't think she should have gotten a redemption unless it was a very bittersweet one and that's what I would want to see. like some true going through hot coals shit siskjsks
and ofc caitlyn and ambessa would have the nasties lesbian sex you've ever seen on screen like it would have to be cut in multiple countries

what are ur fav nobishizu moments in canon? :)
OHHHH thank you for this ask
Man I could rant for hours.
It's been a while since I read the manga, so I'm just gonna mention some moments from the anime(mainly 2005, since it's so hard finding 1979 episodes)/movies :
(These are in no particular order)
(Movie) - Nobita's New Dinosaur
We all know what's the moment I'm talking about. I'll never shut up on how much I love this scene.
When I watched this movie (just a month ago, a few days after Sky Utopia brought back my doraemon obsession), I was NOT expecting to be given nbsz crumbs. I wasn't even as big of a shipper as I am now LMAO. This moment hit me so hard that I became a shipper.
(Movie) - Three Visionary Swordsman
I rewatched this movie just yesterday. It was so funny when disguised Shizuka met Nobita as the silver swordsman and said :
Blunt Shizuka is funny.
(The subtitles are a little off, but it's the only one I could find)
But well, then she saw him being doubtful on killing the dragon.
"You're so kind"
Let's all remember that one of the things Shizuka wanted in her romantic partner is that they're kind:
Source : 2005 anime episode 128 - Shizuka's present is Nobita
Source : Shizuka's character song "the princess next door"
So....
😁😁😁
The ending scene was also really cute
(Movie) - Stand By Me 2
Alright, confession time : I have a love-hate relationship with the Stand by Me movies. Younger me loved Stand by Me 1, so much. Mostly because of the Doraemon-Nobita bond. Adult me(as in, now) definitely has more opinions about it though.
As for Stand by Me 2, I kinda hated it on first watch. But now, well, not so much.
But this post is not about criticising Stand by Me! Sooooo...pushing aside everything, I loved the scene with adult Nobita and adult Shizuka at the end of Stand By Me 2.
Shizuka looked so happy here...
(2005 anime) episode 128 - Shizuka-chan's Present is Nobita
Shizuka treasuring the handkerchief that Nobita made for her...
I looped the ending scene over and over because it's just too cute...(especially with the instrumental of the song "the princess next door" playing as background music)
(2005 anime) episode 249- I don't like Shizuka-chan being like this!
Another one of the 2 Shizuka birthday special (that I saw) with a common theme : Nobita making a present for Shizuka and it kind of sucks but since he made it himself, she loves it anyway.
(Everyone else had mistakenly called it a jar, and she's the only one that correctly refers to it as a vase, Shizuka is truly a gem 😭)
(2005 anime) episode 373 - Nobita's bride
Since there's two versions of Nobita's Bride in the 2005 anime, I'm referring to the 2014 one here.
One of the things that's lacking about nobishizu is definitely Shizuka's perspective. So, it's nice to see what she thought of Nobita.
(2005 anime) episode 245 - Nobita's night before wedding
Although I love the 1999 version of Night Before Wedding so much more, this version has this cute (and a little corny) moment :
Also, the way Nobita didn't even think twice to cover for Shizuka, even though he had to embarass himself?
(2005 anime) episode 124 - Goodbye to you
I love it when there's scenes that remind us how Nobita is one of Shizuka's closest friend and vice versa. Shizuka is not just Nobita's 'future wife', she's his friend. For me, they're best friends first, lovers second. With Nobita thinking that the what-if telepon booth was actually broken, their emotions are genuine here. Nobita must have really regretted ever messing with the booth...
(this ep gave me an AU idea where Nobita actually did move to America lmao, it's being written somewhere in my notes app)
I love the 1979 anime's version too, especially since the animation is so much better. However, I couldn't find the episode with english (or indonesian) sub anywhere 😭
(2005 anime) episode 71 - Conclusion Yarn
I know the way Nobita is using the Conclusion Yarn to basically force Shizuka to be pulled to him is kinda...hmm. But well, he got a lot of consequences (dragged everywhere by the gadget, getting beaten by Gian)
So, it's kinda poetic how, in the end, Nobita doesn't even need the Conclusion Yarn to make up with Shizuka.
(They don't need gadgets to connect them since they're already connected guys🥲)
Every moments in the 1999 Nobita's Night Before Wedding
How did they make adult Nobita so cool in this special?!?!!?!?!? modern writers pls take notes
ALSO, as I said in my nbsz fic, it's so cute how everytime Nobita found something fun to do, his first thought is to call Shizuka and invite her to have fun with him. His love language is probably quality time.
(I only have clips from the movies, but there's a lot of example in the show/manga too)
I'll have to end it here because if not, you guys will never hear the end of it. I love the both of them so much I literally procrastinated my math assignment to write this askdnjofcjsoij (even though Nobita does annoy me a lot sometimes, but well, he's ten)
These are just some of my favorites, I still have 28 movies and hundreds of episodes left to rewatch so I'll definitely found more moments that I love.
#sorry if my english are all over the place#I hate the animation in early 2005 anime but it has some of my fav nbsz moments#anyway pushing my best friends to lovers nbsz agenda out here#kinda interesting how most of these are anime originals#sorry I took too long to respond I was gathering the clips lmao#nobishizu#ask#long post

Mashle 2 Episode 2
Other Episodes-> ep1 ep3 ep4 ep5
This episode was a riot. It was so much fun.
SO many random HP easter eggs and we get some new fun characters!!
Specifically, Margarette Macaron!!
I love them. Non-binary, music magic, and a love of tartar sauce (and a motorcycle in the ending credits!). (It me? maybe.) Despite seeming like an overused Okama-trope, I have hope based on the spoilers I went searching for. I'm so hype for more of them in the next episode.
VA Squee: They're voiced by Koyasu, Takehito!!! The voice of Dio Brando! Touji Fushiguro! Faust VIII from Shaman King! and Clayman from TenSura!!! A very masculine voice that can also take on feminine tones and a perfect fit for Margarette. Manga Spoiler: I wonder if they'll have another va...
Ep 2 Spoilers Under the Cut! Warning IT'S SO LONG THERE'S SO MUCH.
We open in the middle of the decision to execute Mash or not, and Dumbledore, Harry, and Draco having a stand off lmao
We learn that Whalberg/Dumbledore is a famous wizard because he fought with Innocent Zero in his youth.
Does this mean the shadowed Innocent Zero who was called father by Cell War is the equivalent of Grindelwald, and Evil Jesus(Cell War (or cell wall if you wanna be a pun) is Voldemort? (Also is it father or Father lololol)
ALSO, ARE ALL THESE NAMES FROM A RNG OR PUNS CAUSE I CAN'T TELL YET lmao
We get a little speech from Wahlberg reminiscent of one of Dumbledore's speeches, but more importantly, WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF RAYNE ALSO BOWING???
Also his protecting the headmaster is a cute touch
I get that he is one of the Divine Visionaries, but is he more important than the others? He's still a student, wait, HOW DO STUDENTS HAVE THIS MUCH POWER IN THE GOVERNMENT?? NO WONDER ITS FUCKED UP??? Did I miss something??? (His reasoning for not wanting Mash dead also being the flashback to Rayne thanking him for taking care of his little brother?)
And of course Mashle can't be executed, so they set they give him a task to delay his sentencing...
The original goal Mash had in the first place, so ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS CHANGED.
Them backing the fuck up as Mash punches the floor is fricken hilarious. The best parts though...
1) Innocent Pero / Innocent Gyro - Thats a great subtitle translation choice, because they can't do a straight translation. Mash calls them Innocent Pero, with pero being the onomatopoeia for LICKING something in Japanese (WHATS THAT IMPLYING :EYES:), so Innocent Gyro is a good choice XD
and 2) the scene cuts to the bad guy's lair... which also seems to be shaking...
(I went and installed a gif maker for this >.>)
DON'T TELL ME. IS THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS UNDER THE BUREAU OF MAGIC????? (This is my theory and I'm sticking to it. Season 1 semi-stuck with random Philosopher's Stone plot points and the secret rooms, so it can be a semi-safe bet that season 2 might follow Chamber of Secrets?)
We then jump to an outing at the near by town to celebrate Mash Avoiding Death.
↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ The normal one ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓
Finn is the only actual normal one, WITH STYLE AT THAT, and I love him for it. (However he might also be the target of a Brother Complex and end up on the receiving end if Rayne can get over himself>o>)
The fucking Koalas...
What The Fuck Lmfao. That's all I have to say (but also this is a common gag for Japanese comedians and high school boys so... Still WTF. (This had my Beetle killing himself with laughter))
3 Wizards and a Macho walk into a wand shop and...
And the Macho is the one to get a wand. I'm so fascinated by this. How much damage is this thing going to do when Mash finally yeets it at someone???
The entire second half episode is so cute. Mash is so happy to have friends... I'm so happy for him....
But Also. Poor Finn. Look at these Freaks (affectionate).
YOU'RE ONE TO TALK. But Also Poor Finn.
The last bit. Our introduction to Margarette Macaron.
The fucking... shrimp.
Literally
It took Too Much Time for my ace-ass to realize they're THRUSTING the shrimp into the tartar sauce.
I love them? I love tartar sauce too. It's delicious.
They are so over the top. I love everything about them.
I've added too many photos to this post and tumblr is yelling at me.
So I will leave off with my hype for Rayne vs Margarette in the next episode!!!
↑↑↑↑Imagine me making this same face in anticipation↑↑↑↑

M.A.S.H
I finally reached the end of my watch through of MASH - all 11 seasons of it. (And yes, I'd have reached the end sooner if 2023 hasn't been The Year of Burn Notice when I watched BN all through four times and barely anything else...) I saw some MASH when I was a kid - my grandma used to watch it, and I saw some eps sometimes when I was visiting her, but that's different from a serial watch. The first few seasons are... patchy. It's a comedy very much of the time, with some entertaining moments, but also some moments that make you cringe with the sexism and racism. Around season four and five, you can see when the creative control started to change hands. When the cast took more power and began to shape the narrative. When Loretta Swit walked out and wouldn't come back until her character was treated as a career woman instead of a sex object. And damn, do those later seasons hold up, even all these years afterwards. They address serious issues on every scale, from the traumas of war to the aforementioned sexism and racism, to overpowering familial expectations, to queer narratives. And obviously there are pure comedy episodes too, but the comedy stops being at the expense of any particular group. The character development is beautifully done, and yes, the ending absolutely made me cry. MASH really shows what can happen when the people controlling a show care about what happens in it, are invested in it, and pour their souls into it. And unlike some shows where the creator was a visionary from the start, MASH was appropriated by the people who cared, and was completely transformed by it. Now I'm considering what retro comedy from the American past that I missed out on to go to next, and I think it might have to be The Golden Girls...

Some scary ds9 episodes that make me stare at the wall in silence after it ends:
Hard time / Inquisition - being trapped in your mind for no reason is so messed up man. Then again the matrix was scary to me as a kid.
In the Pale Moonlight - the moral and ethical demands start to get veeeery uncomfortable. if you haven't noticed it happening throughout the show, this is the episode that spells it out for you.
The Assignment - classic "a loved one vs everyone else" scenario but with a deeply sinister vibe. I feel the fact that keiko got possessed but could still act "normal" is a metaphor for something...
Visionary - sometimes I remember that miles isn't "our miles" and I get a bit spooked. I don't like to think about it.
Field of fire - imagine if you were Will Graham with his murder visualization skills, but you're just a poor girl trying to live your life.
Bonus: Empok Nor - lowkey got jumpscared at times. what is this silent hill shit. (I have never played silent hill)
I don't want to put all the tough choices/horrors of war episodes in this list because it would be too long, but trust me they were all scary as hell, esp. stuff like "The Abandoned" (jem'hadar engineering being obscenely inhumane) or "The Siege of AR-558" (literal war ep hits hard man, plus quark's civilian pov was too real).

ive got a one free sincere poetical diatribe coupon that expires this week so im cashing it in on waxing lyrical about my favorite band for a minute cause im stupidly sleep deprived and its gonna be a long night so
the thing is this.
the thing is that maybe there isnt quite magic in this world but theres something to be said for the pure unfettered serendipity of a million little things conspiring to have certain peoples paths cross and the way this can change entire worlds. maybe i dont believe in magic but i believe in the unshakable fucking certainty that a 17 year old joe trohman had when he met a 17 year old patrick stump in a bookstore by sheer chance and listened to his demos and Knowing that he should sing despite patrick not being a singer and not particularly wanting to sing. i believe in the stone cold rock solid belief this kid had in this other kids voice to the point where he dragged his buddy over to his house to prove he had the pipes they needed. i believe in pete wentz hearing patrick stump sing in person for the first time and realizing wait, yeah, actually hes our golden fucking ticket. i believe in the last second just before patrick was about to get on the kit to record the drums for take this to your grave, andy hurley comes swinging in fresh from recording an ep with another band and knocking out every drum part damn near flawlessly. i believe in a band of scrappy dumb punk kids who grew up in the suburbs of the midwest and took over the world and didnt plan for any of it to get as big as it did. i believe in this weird fucking band with their weird fucking idiosyncrasies, this band of four guys who dont look like they should be friends let alone making music together: a heavily tattooed vegan straightedge beefcake drummer, the ambitious visionary bassist with the 50-megawatt grin, the tattoo-sleeved lanky guitarist with an inescapable rock 'n roll bent, the pixie-pale and painfully anxious frontman with the voice of a soul singer.
i believe theres a special kind of chemistry that only makes sense with the four of them, together. its the guy with the visuals and the words, this bassist who was supposed to be a lawyer or a star soccer player but instead crafts stories from the narratives he crafts in his head. its this guitarist with his love for the interleaving of sounds and ability to seamlessly jump from front-facing to incredibly restrained and his indelible blues-rock momentum. its this singer who never intended to sing but whose soaring, clear tenor is so utterly distinct that he quickly became one of the most iconic and versatile vocalists in the genre, if not in the world of music in general. its this hardcore drummer who pulls everything together and forms the throbbing heartbeat of the band, whose grit-edged metalcore backbone not even the poppiest of all pop choruses can truly file away.
i believe in this: andy hurley's unshakable faith that the band would reform during the hiatus, despite all evidence to the contrary. patrick stump writing the song that would become "miss missing you" for his solo record but then setting it aside because it didnt feel like it was for him, again, despite every indication that for all anyone knew, fall out boy was done for good. pete wentz, moved by a miserable blog post from his split-up bands singer, reaching out and sparking what was unheard of, especially for bands like them - a renaissance, a successful resurgence, and one of the best comebacks any musical act can say theyve had in decades. joe trohman picking up the phone and preparing to tell patrick stump that he wasn't ready to go back and do the band again if he wasn't going to be writing music, only for patrick to take the words out of his mouth and insist that he should be writing more and he was too talented a writer for them not to allow him space for that.
i believe in the little things. i believe in a band that was never expected to last a summer but has become an indelible part of music history, naysayers be damned. i believe in the unique chemistry of four guys who have no monetary or logistical reason to continue doing this thing aside from the fact that they love it so - they love the process of creating with one another, and they love the car crash hearts whose hearts beat in sync with theirs. i believe in joe listening to the first pass of "fake out" exactly once, picking up an acoustic guitar, and walking into record the instrumentation that ultimately pulled the entire song together in one take without thinking twice about it. i believe in andy simply knowing that "heaven, iowa" would make the final cut of the record despite patricks reticence and his not knowing how to make the song something he could say he was proud of. i believe in pete pouring some of his most vulnerable feelings into his, fearful of how well they will be accepted but making that leap nonetheless, only for the crowds to sing every single word back to him.
maybe theres no such thing as magic or fate and maybe theres no point. but i think of stardust. i think of four guys who poured so much love and time into this record and named it for stardust and i think of them as this: fistfuls of cosmic dust who all sprang from the same etiology. i think of them and its a romantic fucking notion but i allow myself this, i entertain the thought that when the cosmos formed and the detonation of planets and the dissolution of comets created that far-flung scatter of so much (for) stardust, that starry residue liberally dotting the broad span of the black, the four of them all came from the same origin point and like magnets ended up snapping together and thats the way theyve stayed. for years. for decades.
what i guess im trying to say is this: when the universe formed we all came from stardust and we will all return to stardust and i cant help but wonder if those four guys all came from the same stardust too.
like i said. its a romantic fucking notion. i believe in the little things though. and you know what they say about believers (never die).
#*making poasts#*mine#*writing#im running on no sleep here. its a long night for me#so im letting myself say some silly words#this is more than i usually pour into this blog but idk. ive always considered myself more of a writer than an artist#so i guess i should start embracing that here a little bit more#this is rebloggable or whatever i dont care. if it resonates thats great if not thats ok too
