The Persona 20th Anniversary Radio was a weekly broadcast featuring various voice actors from the Persona series, and it then got released in CD format for the 20th anniversary!

I was always curious about Koyasu's thoughts regarding P2 and his inclusion on this CD because it was the first time he was called out for something anniversary-related, so I comissioned a translation of his radio appearance!

The translation has been done by the wonderful @currytantou so all kudos to her! The video is long and heavy so tumblr doesn't let me attach it directly uhsdfkj

Some things of note:

Koyasu likes Trinity Soul (likely because he voiced Kanzato Ryo www) and wishes others gave it a chance, not to erase it's existence.

Koyasu is a huge Megaten fan and he started with Mainline and Devil Survivor. He was also in other (old?) Atlus streams as well.

Koyasu has also played Megami Ibunroku Persona, and his favorite character there is Nanjo. He wanted to voice him.

Tatsuya's voice was always meant to be deep. Koyasu was told several times to actually deepen his voice when recording for Tatsuya.

Koyasu's favorite option for Tatsuya is Lisa. He immediately replies "Ginko" without a doubt lmao.

He loves Tatsuya very much, and complains about Atlus "removing him when they're coming up with something". He wishes he was more relevant and that he could voice him again.

Unfortunately, not *all* of the CD is translated (I would die x_x, these interviews are so fast paced and like 40 mins each!!!). If you want to know the 345 side of the interviews, you can trust curry for a translation~

But to compensate, this has nothing to do with the 20th anniversary, but I also comissioned an additional message that appeared in the somewhat recent 25th anniversary as well! This is one of the first instances of Maya's VA, Akiko Yajima, to have been invited to an anniversary-related event too!

I'm mostly a p2 blog so I wanted to take the opportunity to post this during Tatsuya's birthday as well. So please enjoy!

This episode was a riot. It was so much fun.

SO many random HP easter eggs and we get some new fun characters!!

Specifically, Margarette Macaron!!

I love them. Non-binary, music magic, and a love of tartar sauce (and a motorcycle in the ending credits!). (It me? maybe.) Despite seeming like an overused Okama-trope, I have hope based on the spoilers I went searching for. I'm so hype for more of them in the next episode.

VA Squee: They're voiced by Koyasu, Takehito!!! The voice of Dio Brando! Touji Fushiguro! Faust VIII from Shaman King! and Clayman from TenSura!!! A very masculine voice that can also take on feminine tones and a perfect fit for Margarette. Manga Spoiler: I wonder if they'll have another va...

Ep 2 Spoilers Under the Cut! Warning IT'S SO LONG THERE'S SO MUCH.

We open in the middle of the decision to execute Mash or not, and Dumbledore, Harry, and Draco having a stand off lmao

We learn that Whalberg/Dumbledore is a famous wizard because he fought with Innocent Zero in his youth.

Does this mean the shadowed Innocent Zero who was called father by Cell War is the equivalent of Grindelwald, and Evil Jesus(Cell War (or cell wall if you wanna be a pun) is Voldemort? (Also is it father or Father lololol)

ALSO, ARE ALL THESE NAMES FROM A RNG OR PUNS CAUSE I CAN'T TELL YET lmao

We get a little speech from Wahlberg reminiscent of one of Dumbledore's speeches, but more importantly, WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF RAYNE ALSO BOWING???

Also his protecting the headmaster is a cute touch

I get that he is one of the Divine Visionaries, but is he more important than the others? He's still a student, wait, HOW DO STUDENTS HAVE THIS MUCH POWER IN THE GOVERNMENT?? NO WONDER ITS FUCKED UP??? Did I miss something??? (His reasoning for not wanting Mash dead also being the flashback to Rayne thanking him for taking care of his little brother?)

And of course Mashle can't be executed, so they set they give him a task to delay his sentencing...

The original goal Mash had in the first place, so ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

Them backing the fuck up as Mash punches the floor is fricken hilarious. The best parts though...

1) Innocent Pero / Innocent Gyro - Thats a great subtitle translation choice, because they can't do a straight translation. Mash calls them Innocent Pero, with pero being the onomatopoeia for LICKING something in Japanese (WHATS THAT IMPLYING :EYES:), so Innocent Gyro is a good choice XD

and 2) the scene cuts to the bad guy's lair... which also seems to be shaking...

(I went and installed a gif maker for this >.>)

DON'T TELL ME. IS THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS UNDER THE BUREAU OF MAGIC????? (This is my theory and I'm sticking to it. Season 1 semi-stuck with random Philosopher's Stone plot points and the secret rooms, so it can be a semi-safe bet that season 2 might follow Chamber of Secrets?)

We then jump to an outing at the near by town to celebrate Mash Avoiding Death.

The entire second half episode is so cute. Mash is so happy to have friends... I'm so happy for him....

Best anime fact ever

In Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, the titular character is dubbed by Richard Epcar, voice of Joseph Joestar in Part 3 of JJBA. In the original Japanese, the same character is voiced by Takehito Koyasu, best known for being the one and only DIO. There is nothing else I can say to make this any more perfect.

#36 [MASH RADIO] - Web Radio feat. Kobayashi Chiaki and Koyasu Takehito

The long-awaited appearance of Koyasu Takehito, Japanese voice actor of Margarette Macaron, is here! As always, brief (and messy) summary under the cut!

Koyasu-san messed up the intro, to the point that Kobayashi Chiaki was laughing and their talk was still heard behind the music!

Koyasu: "Chaa--kiii!!" ; Kobayashi Chiaki: "Please don't call me like that!"

Koyasu said he was confused about how he should call Kobayashi Chiaki, especially since there are a lot of Kobayashis in the seiyuu industry so he couldn't just call him "Kobayashi-kun", so he settled with "Chaki" (from Chiaki), Kobayashi decided to just accept it, though he hoped that Koyasu would call him "Kobayashi-kun" in this radio (Koyasu proceeded to call him "Chaki" again shortly after, though he corrected that to "Kobayashi-kun")

They talked so much already in the beginning to the point that Koyasu forgot to introduce himself, so Kobayashi introduced him to the listeners!

Koyasu said that he auditioned for Margarette and got exactly the role he wanted!

Kobayashi: *explains about Margarette being a strong magician who can use sound manipulating magic and loves tartar sauce* ; Koyasu: Koyasu Takehito loves ise-ebi (lobster). ; Kobayashi: *is surprised*

Koyasu said he loves eating lobster with any kind of sauce, though not with tartar sauce.

Koyasu said that when he likes some food, he will start eating it a lot to the point he becomes bored of it or hates it.

Koyasu praised Kobayashi's performance as Mash when they recorded together (possibly during the Margarette battle) and Kobayashi was really happy!

Kobayashi: "What did you think about Mashle when you were voicing it?" ; Koyasu: "Well, I'm surprised by Ueda-chan (Ueda Reina, JP voice of Lemon)." ; Kobayashi: "Yeah, right! I said that a lot already, but I'm so surprised Ueda-san could let out that loud of a voice! (possibly referring to the scene when Margarette blew on Mash's ear and Lemon freaked out)

Koyasu assumed that perhaps it's the nature of Lemon as a character, that's both innocent and aggressive at the same time, and Ueda performed her character incredibly well, but he was still really surprised at her loud shriek back then. Both Kobayashi and Koyasu were amazed at how loud her voice was when she stood next to the mic.

When performing as Margarette, Koyasu thought of Margarette as a female role to emphasize the "woman's heart" that they have.

One of the listeners' letters said that their elementary school kids used to like Mash and Lance when watching the first season, but their favorite character changed to Margarette after watching the second season, then they thanked Mashle for being a series that everyone in the family can enjoy.

They ended up spending so much time on the Gion quiz that Koyasu was surprised that the radio ended already (yes, there's no Bukkowashitai session because Koyasu and Kobayashi talked a lot)! And that's it for the Mash Radio episode 36!

Megumi and Yuuji's VA are saying Toji has such nice body and they want that body. He's so muscular! (both Enoki and Uchida together)

Uchida says it multiple times 😂😂

Then Enoki asks Uchida if he ever had a conversation with Toji's VA ( Takehito Koyasu). He says yes and Uchida actually calls Koyasu Papa if he meets him on the set.

Inoki and Asami say that's heartwarming relationship they have.

Then they talk about how crappy the Zenin family is and Asami says Toji was good.

It's actually very funny and the cast of JJK gets along so well. ♥️♥️
