it's a straight up miracle that ml is a coherent and enjoyable show despite jeremy zag doing his level best to literally blow it up to smithereens in every possible aspect with his incompetence and ego. i want to say i'm astounded that morons on here and twitter are twisting themselves into pretzels trying to pin the blame on thomas instead of jeremy, but this is honestly par for the course with the collective brain worms disease that infects social media and especially the saltier and whinier parts of this fandom. also it's painfully obvious to anyone with a brain that a good 75% of the drama that thomas "caused" on twitter with snark about chronology/releases/writing/censorship/abruptly shortened story arcs was him having to cover up for jeremy's idiocy and greed to keep himself from being fired from his own show, but then again expecting a functioning brain cell is too much from most of you i guess.

This week's episode is a little peek into the day to day picks I make to get through my day. A few old favorites (ok, quite a few), some fantastic discoveries at the used record store, and some fabulous new vinyl reissues. The main highlight this week is the brand new reissue of Twin/Tone's Big Hits of Mid-America, Vol. 3. Long out of print, Back Groove Records has just put out a limited edition set remastered by Justin Perkins at Mystery  Room Mastering, Milwaukee, WI with vinyl mastering by Jeff Powell at Take Out Vinyl, Memphis, TN. This is one of the great landmarks of late 70s Minneapolis underground rock.

As for this week's edition of the "52 Weeks of Teenage Kicks", I've got a recent discovery by The Main Grains. Led by former Wildheart bassist Danny McCormack, the track can be found on their Don't Believe Everything You Think EP. Like I do every week, however, I must again plead with y'all for more versions of "Teenage Kicks". Per celebrare i 10 anni dall'uscita del primo Sharknado, torna nelle sale il primo film della serie. Esilarante, da gustare in compagnia. L'unica volta che è concesso commentare a voce alta il film al cinema. TRASCRIZIONE [ENG translation below] Cos'è Sharknado? È un film che parla di squali. No, non è vero. Sharknado è una serie di film, il primo uscito nel 2013 esattamente dieci anni fa, tenetelo a mente, e ne hanno fatto poi mi pare sei, dovrei saperlo perché li ho visti tutti, sì, mi pare che siano sei. Cos'hanno di particolare questa serie di film? Non sto spoilerando molto, anche perché di racconto non è che ce ne sia tanto nel primo, né negli altri poi seguenti ancora meno. Io non so come abbiano reagito i produttori, se abbiano pensato che fosse un'idea geniale oppure una di quelle idee così brutte da risultare belle, sta di fatto che il primo Sharknado ha una qualche velleità di... non dico che vuole sembrare reale, che vuole verosimiglianza, ecco non mi veniva la parola, ha qualche, così, sentore di verosimiglianza che una persona, se proprio proprio proprio la tira, cioè dice ah beh, sì, una cosa del genere potrebbe succedere. Già, però verso il finale del primo film Sharknado, quello originale del 2013, si capisce che è una cosa del genere non potrebbe mai, mai, mai, mai succedere nel mondo. Poi man mano che si va avanti nel Sharknado 2, 3 eccetera fino all'ultimo, che appunto mi pare sia il sesto, le cose diventano così inverosimili, così palesemente esagerate che c'è, mi pare che nell'ultimo film ci sia un bambino, un neonato che con una sega elettrica apre la pancia - mangiato dallo squalo scusate - mangiato dallo squalo e con una sega elettrica il neonato, forse ancora non è nemmeno nato, sta nascendo, apre la pancia dello squalo ed esce fuori, cioè cose veramente che non stanno né in cielo né in terra. Ma perché vi sto parlando di Sharknado oggi? Perché appunto, ora che ricorrono i dieci anni dall'uscita del primo Sharknado, ci sarà una riproposta del primo originale nei cinema, completamente rimasterizzato con nuovi effetti sonori mai visti, effetti visivi mai visti prima. Niente, quindi sarà di nuovo al cinema e sicuramente sarà una bella esperienza andare lì tutti insieme, yeah! E gridare e ridere.
