The Mishap of the Misplaced Mollusc - All Tanks Wake 2023

All Saint's Wake of this turn of the year had a most terrible outcome, truly a vile act of theft right here in my very own chambers. While I was gone for a few days - examining a new species of snail - someone stole my precious Ignus Horn Print!

The staff at the Eorzean Aquarium, as well as our very own Inspector Red Herring, worked tirelessly to find the culprit and return the print to me with haste. How it warmed my very despaired heart to see so many adventurers coming from far and wide to assist in finding my precious print.

Through their investigation and collective effort, the culprit behind it all turned out to be my old Studium classmate, Makoiousxous Thresher?! But why? Why would you do such a thing? If you desired the print with such passion, perhaps I could have procured you one..

UPDATE! I got permission from the wonderful Aquarium Sophia to hold my reception there! Yay! So if you already play, you can bring your mains over to do Gposes and have a grand time :)

How to participate:

If you want to join the wedding itself:

Create a free trial account for FFXIV at: https://freetrial.finalfantasyxiv.com/na/  (If you already have an FFXIV account, obviously you can skip this step)

Create a character on the Twintania server, on the Light data center, in the EU region. You must do this even if you have an account already unless you already have a character there; characters MUST be on the same server to participate in an Eternal Bonding ceremony.

Make sure your characters start in GRIDANIA. This means you will need to start as a Conjurer, Lancer, or Archer.

If you can contact myself or Kian (https://selene-ffxiv.tumblr.com/) ahead of time (via here on Tumblr, on Discord, or whatever), great! We’ll help you get set up; we’ll need to add you to one of our friend’s lists and then send you an invitation. If not, we’ll have an organization meeting at the Carline Canopy (the inn) in Gridania one hour before the ceremony starts, so we can get you an invitation and ferry you to the chapel. We can also provide you with a basic tuxedo or dress!

RECEPTION

Reception will be at Aquarium Sophia on the Materia data center immediately following the wedding. This is so that people who already play the game can bring their main characters with all their lovely outfits and such. But don't fret! Even if you're brand new on the free trial, you can still come. The link above has instructions on how to get there and we'll be happy to ferry you.

As for how to visit the Materia data center, my friend Melodic wrote up some instructions to make it easy:

If you have never been to the Materia data center before: The game will not immediately let you take a character and DC travel to Materia. It acts as though there's no road to get there. To build the "road" to Materia for your existing characters, you will need to first take your game client to Materia.

From the main game screen, click on "Data Center"

When the world map appears, click on "Oceanian Data Center", then click Proceed.

At this point, the game will connect you to the Materia DC as though you are going to create a new character.

Congratulations! You have taught your game client how to find the Materia DC, and you can now go back to your existing characters to DC travel them over to Materia and select the world Sophia. Further note: If you've done this before, you *might* need to do it a second time. Just be aware of error messages.

I am putting together goodie bags for Final Fantasy FanFest. There's an aquarium event happening, so I'll have 20 goodie bags just for that! More goodies will be added in the coming days, it's gonna be so cute!

I'm gonna have these in a water-themed bag and let people "fish" them out. I have two special bags with a smol plush narwhal and a truly delightful narwhal sticker, but everyone will get something!

Can't wait to see who fishes out one of the Big Ones!

Mimble's Aquarium Visit.

Visited The Eorzean Aquarium following the suggestion from @discountdps for ideas for my Secret Saint of Nymeia gift.

I can definitely recommend visiting The Eorzean Aquarium (Plot 34, Ward 20, The Goblet, Spriggan, Chaos). NA Data Centre version here.

I liked the Aquamaton, but I'm not sure that actually counts as a fish...

Took advantage of the Oceania DC Transfer Beta to go visit Eorzean Aquarium: Sophia!!! We had an absolute blast checking out all the rooms, which were amazingly designed. Worth a visit if you haven't been before - they've got rooms by zone, a cafe, a touch pool, and some delightful gpose areas.

I took @pumkinbones out on a date to the Eorzean Aquarium on Malboro tonight! I've been a bunch of times, but he had never gone, so it was a real treat to look through the rooms and see all the fish together. We got about halfway through, which coincidentally ended up in the Prism Lake room. Our gay little date was truly blessed by the Warden!
