I'm sorry but some of you really overestimate how pro-god Orym is

#just because he is the most pro-god of bells hells doesn't mean he is actually pro-god #some of you heard “the gods are watching” and took that as his only view of the gods #and a lot of you forget that he is oyrm of the air ASHARI #you know? the people who primarily worship the natural world?#we've heard his mother (in-law) and leader say how they worship the natural world #it's not a stretch to say that orym was raised on those views #orym has stated over and over again about his worries about the potential environmental consequences of releasing predathos #and more importantly orym has always talked about how many people have died and could die as a consequence of releasing predathos #some of you think it's “ew ludinus wants to kill the gods”#when really it's “ew ludinus is willing to kill people and potentially destroy exandria in order to kill the gods”#i'll probably make a whole post with all my evidence when i have the time #orym of the air ashari #orym #critical role

I'm seeing a lot of folks online and IRL who are (understandably!) excited about Kamala's momentum after the debate (and T Swift's endorsement) last night. But I want to caution people against holding her up as some infallible, ideal candidate. Read the fact-checking transcripts from BBC and NPR. Understand what her position is on subjects that are important to you. Her platform is significantly more moderate than it used to be because she's trying to appeal to Republicans that are disillusioned with their candidate (it's working!).

But that means that if you care about things like the genocide which continues in Gaza, the expansion of fracking and other environmental concerns, decriminalizing border crossings, student loans, disability, and healthcare policies, you need to be attentive to the platform she's running on and the new promises she's making, not what she may have said or promised in the past

If she wins this, it will certainly be a win. Kamala is far and away the best candidate. But a Kamala win won't signal the end of the work we need to do. I don't want to dampen anyone's excitement, but holding any human being up as a faultless icon is a recipe for disappointment.

i thought my problem with hobbies was that i hate being bad at stuff so i always quit but it just hit me that it's actually always been at least partly a money issue... like it's not just that i don't want to be bad at something it's that i can't afford to buy supplies and THEN be bad. i stopped decorating my bullet journal not just because it didn't look as good as i wanted but because it didn't look that good AND i was spending money on supplies. i quit film photography not just because a lot of my photos were shit but because film is expensive so every photo had a price tag and having some of them turn out bad made me feel like the money was wasted. i never got to a point where i was good at any of this stuff because in my mind, i couldn't afford to keep going.

#this is such a huge realization for me but it's actually so obvious when i look at the hobbies i do have...#like giffing does require skill and i WAS bad at it at first but it's free #meanwhile so many hobbies i quit because i felt bad for buying stuff for them and then making shit things with them...#then add all the environmental concerns on top of that...#basically i view everything i do as a waste :)

"what would your character be like without their trauma?" is such a hard question for me because it makes me feel like a massive asshole LMAO

(im attaching a picture of a tundra literally to add context to my ramble in the tags because my posts are structured by a sane person) (you should read the ramble in the tags i talk so much about rivers fsr)

#like. rivers would probably just purpose funky things for the hell of it and study lizards and stuff #i think environmentalism would matter to him since he was created long before the great equalizer when there was like. actually a view #have you guys ever looked at a tundra for real theyre so pretty. i think the colours would be funkier though #purples and blues along with the reds and oranges i think but id have to draw it tio be sure its not ugly #anyways. rivers would probably be interested in nature conservation especially since the ancients destroyed the world-#but the iterators construction obviously had a massive part in that so hed feel ownership #him and glass wouldve got along VERY well in this circumstance since that matters a lot to her (specifically animal conservation though)#but at the same time glass doesnt exist without rivers trauma right. she cant exist if flowers isnt in his life because he Literally built #her (glass) just to be mean to rivers #doomed for real #i....... want them to be friends in the walky au. my massive block is trying to think of some reason nights Needs to leave his can because #he wouldnt if not required. and glass just wouldnt leave him. in no circumstance would they willingly separate from eachothers company #theyd ALSO need to be really fast because the only opportunity nights would get to get out is when odyssey goes to him to help her build #the weapon she needs to kill dune. (odyssey has the gift. the twins dont know anyone else who does((other than phrases obvsly)))#this happens a considerable amount of time after phrases and rivers escape. they have like. a month's time on them #odysseys like “if you guys are for real about leaving do NOT go straight south. dont. dont. dont. youre like 2 feet tall you WILL die”#nights is like “DEAR GOD SERIAL KILLERS??????” and glass is like “wtf youre only like a foot taller than us”#anyways i think glass and rivers would get along and rivers has a positive arc here right and realizes hes wrong and hes glad he didnt.#kill the twins. yeah its good you didnt do that dude #i jsut really really think theyd get along if rivers had the chance to associate her with anything but flowers horrid treatment of him #because in the normal story all he sees when he sees her is flowers. and like flowers could the twins can tap into his work and see his #files and logs and such whenever they wanted. they didnt do this very often- glass really never looked at rivers work unless she was told t #but rivers was just made SO paranoid by flowers abuse that thinking of being watched makes him feel sick and horrible #and his whole thing is trying to find a way to feel less horrible right so thats (part of) why he decides to get rid of them #hm. if rivers wassnt traumatized hed like nature and creatures. anyways #oc posting #look to the tags for the oc posting

Jacksepticeye bashing Mr Beast made me love him even more. I am now Sean’s #1 fan.

#I don’t really watch his content much anymore but he’s always come across as a nice and genuine guy #whereas mr beast is definitely not genuine - like he might have been at the start but his being besties with Elon musk and investing heavily #into crypto after doing several environmental projects proves he is now just doing things for the views #I mean he made a comment about how a dream video of his is to force a guy to sit in a circle without any entertainment and count as high as #he can and whatever number he reaches will be his cash prize (like that’s supervillain behaviour)#honestly Sean comes across as a lovely guy and I’m glad a big YouTuber has called out mr beast to whatever capacity because his whole thing #is dystopian charity but because it is ‘charity’ everyone always gets upset when a smaller name calls him out on it #jacksepticeye

#Marvel #Marvel comics #Phases of the Moon Knight #Moon Knight comics #latest release #Moon Knight #Nakia Hunam #coming out swinging criticizing both the bourgeoisie AND populism is a bold choice #but gosh there’s just a lot of biting commentary here in general of both colonialism and the colonized #I refuse to dig and see what kind of wild takes people are making about this story but I can bet it’s made people uncomfortable #probably raised questions of who gets to make such criticism #because yeah we can all agree that colonial kidnapping of great artifacts is a travesty #cough cough the British Museum being the most infamous offender cough cough cough #but I have seen (not saying I endorse it) push back saying that by painting colonial powers as solely swooping in #and stealing artifacts negates the active role some members of the colonized population had in the industry #which some people feel is patronizing and creates an over-simplified view of history #other people still will push back against THAT by saying the economic power imbalance between colonized #and colonizer inevitably leads to the latter taking advantage of the former including in the archeological industry #I’ve seen some parallels with the environmental question #a colonizing power will come in and raze the land/extract wealth in minerals and ancient treasures #then a century later turn around criticize formerly colonized countries for clearing land for farming or trafficking artifacts #with some representatives of the latter saying «you ruined us now it’s our turn to try and do what we can to develop»#there’s also something there about formerly colonized countries with rich histories losing irreplaceable goods due to political instability #with a history of colonization not being able to be discounted as a major contributor to that instability #anyway it’s a tough topic and as per always please take my ramblings with the biggest grain of salt you’ve ever seen #what I do know is I would love for Nakia and Layla and Marlene (maybe even the Moon Knight What If..? version?) to have tea together

ngl i get way more mad at reactions to Just Stop Oil activities than the actual actions they took. like stop being patronising to these ppl who are desperate for more people to actually listen and do something

#tweets like 'if they spent their time builidng wind farms they'd be more successful than if they paint stonehenge orange'#like. wtf do you think they're doing. this IS them trying to get more ppl to build wind farms. because no one was listening before #and also sidenote building windfarms will do nothing if we don't adjust how we use and distribute energy #technological solutions cannot solve climate change. capitalism NEEDS constant growth to stay stable #and constant growth is impossible in a world with finite resources and attempting it will lead further into environmental destruction #but accepting that would mean changing your way of living and world view and some ppl would rather drown in the next flood than do that #emma talks

the parallels between hatred of children for not knowing how to do things like emotional regulation or fine motor skills parallels with a lot of attitudes around disabilities that I hadn’t made the connection with before

#like the blatant frustration and impatience ??#whenever young kids and babies scream and cry I view it as like. an environmental circumstance if that makes sense #like an ‘ah dammit I happened to be here at a time where the stars aligned for this child to start screaming’ and put on my headphones #and then i’m baffled by parents who do nothing to soothe a child in Active Distress ??? like how are you able to tune that out #physically AND emotionally I mean #which i know is a result of no community support and poverty being a drain on emotional availability #so like.. that same Hatred is transferred onto disabled people as well who ‘inconvenience’ others #disabled people and children are viewed as burdens if there’s no way for them to ‘compensate’ for these things

going to local ER instead since I’m losing too much blood, way too fast! last week was bad but this is scary and I need to be monitored ASAP!

#I’ll be watching all of your recs when I’m there 🙏#I also have so many updates and posts that I haven’t felt the guts to ever say #I’m sorry I’ve been a bad mutual but I’ve been a bad friend to all the online friends and friends from my university #im lucky I live in a condo community w/ lots of extention of family + help! my coastal city - particularly our part of the city #in a particular building where we all meet up together in the front on weekends #even at my sickest - I’m still pretty involved since we see eachother physically & I love cooking + baking for everyone on a 2x monthly #and we all walk the dogs together every afternoon in our dog walking by the harbor group #even then these old people have me in a group text and drop flowers off for me and me for them #living in a community is so helpful but it open my eyes that I’m not even just sick or even a bad friend but those two factors strained #my online relationships bc the effort was so much behind the scenes w/ my health and even typing something out that it makes messaging or #even blogging but I’d like to change that bc I want to be more overt online #and I explain how that relates to Palestine and findinfing joy + $$$ in this end stage capitalist nightmare #I want to be better but I also want to show people the joys of my city (a literal hidden gem yet is a national park) and so between fusing #ideas of environmentalism - community out reach & even descalation of yt Supremacist mentalities when doing outreach + volunteer #even our coastal environmental causes to such great causes that help indigenous latinx members of our community in particular #their rights and their accomplishments in agriculture & how fruitful this place is #we have the best strawberries + berries since they are indigenous plants but anyways from environmentalism to damn farmers markets #I live in a slice of heaven so why leave to go to LA and NYC when I create such beautiful joy by the ocean every day #we have such incredible water views in our condo along with the stunning plain mountains framing the water and sea of palm trees #every sunset is like Santa Barbara (we close!) w/ pink/purple/orange skies that are so vibrant that they make you take pictures constantly #especially with the herons nested there w/ there babies - so close to #is that we watch them all day long + the other coastal birds #all this Shit is random but I realized that if I put my effort into a few things academically that I haven’t even shared in these tags -#that I can have an incredibly fulfilling life while sick as long it pays for itself and I think I can do it w/ a few different plans I’m #creating but I’m setting up a couple of businesss for passive income - go back to grad schooo but for medical research or political science #IR my old life of international relations and start publishing my research on Palestine and Jewish studies #I just need to publish either medical or political but if I do that - have my east businesses that not only highlight my life #but may help the people and animals of my city #but I feel the change finally coming and maybe it took something like this to wake me up #so many funny typos but this was just a quick way to explain that I need to be more comfortable on video + online w/ you all but on tiktok

its actually nuts how missing a single vaccination has shaped my entire fucking life. like not only would I not be deaf if I had gotten it on time but I probs wouldn't have adhd either 🫣

#like yeah I have a family history of adhd but im pretty sure the current model suggests u can be genetically *predisposed* but the actual-#development of adhd is thought to be closely linked to environmental 'triggers' like childhood stress or head injuries lol #or in my case brain trauma. fun fact: a suspected 62% of kids who survive hib meningitis later develop adhd symptoms #vs. 5% incidence in the general population.....#when I first heard that I was still in denial bc i thought of adhd as a 'natural' condition like ur just born that way #so if meningitis survivors displayed symptoms that didnt mean they were ACTUALLY adhd. except literally all adhd is-#is a collection of symptoms its not some tangible 'switch' thats flipped in some ppl and not others. maybe thats a rly obvious statement-#but I found it kinda hard to get my head around. i guess just bc of how a lot of psychology is viewed by the public innit #anyway being deaf + nd kinda fucking sucks yall better be jabbing ur babies with every vaccination possible or im coming for ur knees #its funny bc it sounds like im saying watch out !! vaccination may PREVENT neurodivergence NOT cause it !!#*andrew wakefield voice* u wouldnt want a child with autism #but thats not what i meaaaannn obvs ur kid not getting xyz disease that could kill them is the number 1 most important thing #its so cringe actually bc hib b incidence has been down to abt 2 in every 100 000 babies since the vax was introduced in 1985 #so I was one of like. probably less than 10 babies to get it in the fucking country and they misdiagnosed me a bunch of times #bc it was so uncommon + I had some rarer symptoms plus the only way to actually CHECK is to test spinal fluid which is a faff #if theyd realised earlier then i also wouldnt be deaf bc it wouldnt have been as severe. just a series of unfortunate events i guess #anyway. immunology is so fascinating i wish id focused on it more in my degree tbh #over and OUT #.diaries
