My friend Josh isn’t much of a text-er, and I am far less of one (I am building a greeting card company for a reason, haha).

Started on a letter, ended up writing 21 pages. It’s been awhile!!

Visual Texture is the term used to describe “here is stuff, look at it, it’s neat.”

Envelope flap interiors are a GREAT example of how to make a letter or card REALLY INTERESTING with no cost and very little effort.

Get a highlighter and/or pen and make lines. Make doodles. Add a post script. More, less, mix, match. Stickers rubber stamps collages. Poems and messages. “Oh hell I forgot!” Or additions you left off to add here.

The possibilities are literally endless.

No idea why my ideas of holiday cats always involve destruction... I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I had to superglue an acrylic reindeer back together this morning. Leon.

i think more people need to start making art with their hands again regardless of how bad at it they think they are. i think more people should start reading and writing poetry even if they just want to feel pretentious even if they're not sure what it "really means" even if they're not sure if they "get it". i think more people should start mailing their friends and loved ones letters and packages on a regular basis even if a text is faster. i think we should all take a deep breath and remember how warm the sun is on a bright, calm day. i think it would be nice.

No cos in interviews when someone would asl him stuff he'd be like "oh someone I know really loves that" or he'd say inside jokes for jer when she watches it. Like this man will literally keep a sweet wrapper she gave him as a joke like it's the most precious thing to exist

somebody in the team accidentally threw a wrapper from arvid's pant's pockets and arvid didn't talk to them for a good few weeks, before his gf quite literally forced him to forgive the team member, "it wasn't that serious arvid" "but you gave it to me:((" the guy would keep a toothpick safely if his gf gave it to him

I'm quite grimly fascinated by the YouTube pen pal creator sphere. Like… first of all, these people are just putting their full name and address on screen, huh?

Also, Idk, it just feels kind of disingenuous that they're always all "It isn't about the decoration or the extras! A simple heartfelt letter is what's important!" when they've built their entire online brand around elaborately decorated letters—that they, again, show in full on screen to millions of people who are not the recipient—with a bunch of stickers and tea bags and bits of confetti and washi tape samples added as gifts on top of what's used for decoration. Like, I don't know, if you have to disclaim a million times that having a pen pal is Not A Stationery Swap and that people shouldn't expect to be given these things, maybe you could reflect for a moment on what may have created this impression?

Like, personally, I never for a second believed that I needed more than "just an ordinary sheet of paper and any pen at all uwu" to send a letter, so it's sort of baffling to be gently reassured by people spending hours of work designing a visual aesthetic for their letters that, of course, I don't have to do it like that. Like, yeah, no shit, Sherlock.

I mean, I'm all for people having fun with stickers and washi tape and markers and whatever, but I feel like they've created this very false barrier to entry that I'm not about. It's bullet journals all over again.

trunk or treat. trick or treating days before the actual holiday. spirit halloween opening in early september. christmas decorations being on shelves at the same time as halloween.

no fucking wonder kids are so disillusioned with all of this and live in their phones. nothing is special anymore. whats the point of even having holidays like this when nobody even celebrates them on the holiday anymore???
