I'd looove to hear a little about your worldbuilding process if you don't mind sharing. How do you go about it? I know you have shared in a few posts already but just wanna know moree. Also where did it all begin? What inspired you? (eating it all uppp!!!)
hi!! I know I wrote a big long thing like last year or the year before about the process to making a setting but I cannot be arsed to find it rn so here's some disconnected thoughts
Overall I don't really make Headworlds or Worldbuilding Projects the way a lot of people do (which is why u keep hearing me say 'setting' over and over) because mainly what I make are stories in the order of characters -> plot -> world. those three things have to serve one another in that order of importance, so the world itself bends to serve the narrative. for example, ultimately idgaf where the holy beasts' skeletons come from, that is not important because the beasts are basically just a big plot device to serve the story. i can make some post-hoc justifications for their existence (and i did) but at the end of the day it will not and does not matter how they work or where they come from. the world is full of mysteries that will never be solved because the characters are not in a position to solve them. aside from a single border conflict, the world outside the mezian empire is nebulous and unimportant.
I don't enjoy working in a world -> narrative order because what I want to produce isn't just a series of info posts or artpieces about a setting, but a closed and self-contained story which is the justification for the entire world's existence. Headworlds that are all world and no character don't interest me.
So basically in the process of worldbuilding, I have to serve the story. A while back I made a post about continental history around Inver, all these wars and occupations and schisms and so on. All of those exist solely to provide a particular political climate, justification for Aquitan's theocratic structure, and the spread of the southern church north into Inver. I already had the idea of this church, that it would be integral to the country as a main political faction, so now I have to figure out how it got there and the political ramifications of that. It's all worldbuilding for sure, but it's a support structure underneath the story about how that church eventually changes world history, because i wanted to write a story about a church lol.
I guess if I wanted to explain The Process for a world -> characters setting i'd just be giving you How To Write A Story 101 lol. But basically: I think of a concept which interests me (big mechs yay). Then I think of a conflict that might arise (where does the fuel come from? who controls that supply? what might that do to the concentration of power in this area?). Then I put a character in what I consider to be the most interesting position to observe the effects of this conflict (a knight, an enginesmith, an exile), and honestly the main plot generally writes itself after that. I extrapolate the hook from that.
In terms of characters, I try to avoid calling them 'ocs' because in my mind 'oc' tends to be a very static stand-alone thing. Like I couldn't make a useful ref sheet of my characters because they are all changed by the story. I couldn't say 'he has a carefree personality' because in a few chapters no he fucking won't. in the same way i struggle a LOT to talk about my Siren setting which as close to a specbio 'headworld' as i'm ever gonna get, because I am worldbuilding in vastly different time periods at once in a world which is always changing, i can't make a post about for example a map of Siren because that's just a map from one era, I'd need to make a dozen maps to show how things change, how time affects it all, etc.
Because nothing is ever static and everything is in flux, pretty much the only way I can handle a setting like this is, again, just to focus on a few small stories centered around a cast of characters separated by time (i have... 4 distinct stories in Siren. maybe more). this is actually a frustrating barrier to me sharing any information at all about this place lol i'm the struggler
Where did it all begin? When I was 11 I used to write stories in my copybooks in class. There has never been a time where I was not making stories and where my stories were not the only important thing at all to me, superseding literally everything else. I learned how to draw digitally in 2011 because I wanted to draw my characters.
What inspires me? Everything lol. I actually don't have time to Consume Media much, I struggle watching movies or tv and I mostly hate video games because I would much rather be productive and sitting and watching a screen feels like a waste of my time. but I like reading books because I can take them with me on my phone. I get ideas from all sources but mostly non-media sources, like obviously mythology but also my history with the church and my scientific education. Usually nonfictional sources interest me the most (i was going to write a whole story that was a post-apocalyptic plague plot based on canine transmissible venereal cancer haha and even to this day that's where "the Immortal Hound" title comes from, little easter egg in inver)

Hi! I know this is kind of embarassing of me, but your DonOdin art gives me life, especially that Howls Moving Castle AU art you made, those artpieces are like beautiful paintings! I know you made art about them like four years ago, but I still appreciate those artworks so much! DonOdin for life!!! 😁💙💚
asfsajfhkjsaf??? thank you so much for your kind words @bullfinch-lover! I adore them, they're such an iconic duo, your honour they have my entire heart- duno absolutely for life!
I've been in an art funk for a while and irl things are busy, so I haven't been around but thank you much for loving my art! Has it really been four years aaaa??? I remembered had other funny ideas for that au like how the triplets were cursed to be one person, and Donald finding it out by meeting each of them at different hours of the day (Huey in the morning, Dewey in afternoon and Louie at night) but I wasn't sure how to draw it out so that idea had to be left behind. Maybe one day I'll be inspired to draw for that au again, especially the swallowing star scene!
Meanwhile though, please have this smol doodle as my thank you for your sweet message! Have a good day and thank you again!
#sobs#thank you#duno#bullfinch-lover#paperinik#duck avenger#my art#man i don't even remember what tags i used for duno kalsjfasdf it's been so long#i hope it's okay i post this?? lemme know if you want it taken down?#ask

posting the painting without the rest of the artpiece because it vibes just by itself, i also need to say that painting the background was super easy for some reason, i was very surprised (thank you square brush you saved me) i might get into painting landscapes more often or doing some studies out of pictures i've taken myself, should be fun 👍 btw the outfit is a mix of different traditional clothing from Galicia because representing, not entirely accurate though

The more fascinating aspect of AI to me is how it's unpacking the relationship between effort (or perhaps perceived effort is a better way to put it) and resultant artwork in a similar way to how the debate surfaces around abstract art, but from a much more concrete basis.
Surely, we can't measure the personal (specifcally, non-monetary) value of art by the effort that took to compose it as a piece, we know by now this is a tired argument that ignores major artistic developments and pieces especially from the last century (Marcel Duchamp and Barnett Newman being well-known examples), but the angle of those discussions is usually through its abstraction, i.e. a lack of aesthetics that would otherwise be expected for the average gallery viewer. Now, when speaking on AI art, we arrive at these discussions not speaking on any lack of aesthetics (though there is extensible criticism of those differing aesthetics, but that's unrelated to my point) but on the lack of perceived effort required to make that picture.
And my thoughts here are, it's not really helpful to call this "not art". Art is, at least to me, a piece of expression, what it expresses and whether that means something to the observer is the variable of 'quality', but to call something 'not art' is to dismiss its cultural effect and existence entirely. We can't make a useful argument here on the grounds of 'lack of effort', nor can we really make one on a basis of derivation (otherwise, we would owe it to ourselves to throw out collages and sample-based musical works as well). Arguments about 'humanity' are non-material, not just for the idea of a 'soul' going into it, but because it excludes a lot of art created/generated by tools, and thereby excludes a lot of art made by those without means or ability.
My conclusion here of a better criticism to make is by piece, by generator, with the acknowledgement of that it IS art, that it IS a piece that expresses something and has a ripple effect across culture, but it oftentimes by the individual piece is shallow! Boring! Uninteresting in what it is often used for. Big titted anime waifu smoking a bong is not interesting as an artistic premise by itself, and what a lot of non-machine art has as an advantage over it is that the artist can make it more interesting than its premise, utilising a high degree of customisation and control around its presentation in a way that AI tools and related are unable to do to the same effect. And this, by way, opens the door for AI-generated artpieces that are more generally interesting in themselves.
There's no need to take a big paintbrush to AI as a whole when we have already seen such interesting things arise from it, good or bad in your own judgements, just this discussion ALONE makes it extremely difficult to say it is 'not art'. We don't need to call things we dislike ideologically not art! We can acknowledge what it is without that acknowledgement needing to be a compliment in any sort of way.

“III’M NORMA BATES!” Continueing the tradition of turning all my hyperfixations into ponies eventually. This one took quite a bit. Progress pictures in the readmore Ah, as to why I made Norman a Pegasus, I just found it fitting with the dozens and dozens of bird motives all up in the movie. Seriously, someone make a drinking game out of it.
My sketches tend to be very hit or miss and are one reason why I try to finish artpieces the same day i start them. My sketches are either hyperspecific or blue blobs that not even I will remember the meaning for in a week...
Outlines are by far my least favorite part of making art. One would think this means I prefer doing lineless art, but that always looks unrendered in my style, blurred and unfinished. So lineart it is...
Base colors and slight textures. This is the moment, that I am thankful the original movie was in black and white. Less colors means less of an eyecatcher, but it also means less work for me. I am allowed to be lazy in personal artpieces. Time for my favorite part: the rendering
Lighting is key when I want my art to be atmospheric. Conedy pieces and small cute things can work without lighting or with cellshading. You CAN make atmospheric pieces with cellshading alone, but it will always have a bit of a “batman the animated series” vibe. As long as thats okay with you, you dont need 12 multiply and highlight layers. I chose to spend more time on Norman, and then had to reshade the entire rest because he was rendered much more detailed. Can you tell I like this character? X,D
I now compressed the image into four layers. Lila Crane+Lamp, “Norma” Bates, Room background and cellar hallway with Sam Loomis. Gave the four new layers different focus, and added the final lighting touches. The scene has a swinging cellarlamp and I wanted to incorporate that somehow, whilst conveeeeniently putting more spotlight on “Norma” Bates

I have a question 🙋 Are you working on how Seto and Eve met or working on other artpieces that your working on?
That's such a rough and mixed question, and I feel bad about answering it ;-;
This is a long post so I apologize
The short answer is currently no. I'm actually working on a piece for one of my favorite video games, but because my life outside of art is so busy, I essentially only get to work on one piece at at time.
HOWEVER, I do have a pile of WIPs that sit in my iPad, and such a large pot of ideas that it nearly overflows at times. The only issue is... Half the time I tend to drop them, or get distracted by other works that I have. And what makes it worse is that I tend to struggle with my ideas and putting them into thoughts or words or images. Heck, I have a whole sketch of a comic for how Kaiba and Eve met, it's angst-y and scary, but I just. Haven't touched it, and I genuinely don't know when I will because my mind keeps changing what I want to do vs what I need to do.
What also makes this worse is that I have sketchbooks and sketchbooks and piles and piles of completed artwork of these two, mini comics and summaries and wholesome moments and scary moments, but I just don't share them. I'll admit that I'm a perfectionist at heart when it comes to social media, and despite having these literal mounds of small and messy doodles I don't tend to share them because I don't think they're worth being shared.
Mind you, the ENTIRETY of this AU is planned out. I've worked a long few years in every minor detail, to the anatomical differences Eve has versus a normal person to help adapt to her smaller life, to an entire time line of key events going from Millennium world to DSoD, to the tiniest of fun facts like Eve wears her choker because Kaiba gave it to her as her first gift or Kaiba hates being compared to storybook giants because he thinks it's an insult to his intellect. And I'm more than willing to share these details through asks and comments, but it'll take ages if y'all want an image or a comic ;-;
So TLDR from such a long and boring post, currently no. I am not working on an image/comic on how Eve and Kaiba met. But I want to, and I know at least two people on this app want to see it. And I want to show it to everyone. But it's going to take time and effort and I'm unsure when I'll finally be able to put it into that piece.

Pushing Boundaries, Student Competitions in Games Art and Design
Blog #1
For our 5th assignment, we are tasked to participate in an art and design competition. There are many options on the internet for the same along with the ones provided by Neil in the canvas.
After going through many of them, I decided on choosing "Secrets of Luminara" by kitbash 3d as the contest I want to participate in.
Secrets of Luminara, is a challenge by Kitbash 3D, where you have to make an artpiece from the provided assets and then present it. The reason I am choosing this over other contests is because
1. Wide array of options to choose from
There are three different parts of this challenge, which are totally independent of each other and have completely different and targeted judging criteria. The three categories are;
Conept Art: For this, the official instruction is to "Craft visuals that capture the essence of the Luminara’s epic landscapes." which for me translates to bashing assets together to create some of the most immersive and lore-driven renders.
In-Motion: The official instruction for this section is to "Create animations that bring Luminara’s stories, characters, or environments to life." And this gives more flexibility with things like composition and alignments as ur hero asset would be the one that would majorly be telling the story and not your set design.
Game Submission: The official instruction for this section is to "Build an engaging Fortnite Island with UEFN to share your Luminara adventure with explorers." Which by definition would be the most technologically advance section of this challenge as it requires the use of a very specific and modern game engine called Unreal Engine for fortnight, but at the same time it will be the easiest one from a storytelling perspective as the user would be completely immersed in the content given the game aspect of it, so the compositioning and set design would take an even bigger back seat as compared to the animation section.
2. Long Deadline
Apart from that, this challenge started back on Oct 7th and the deadline for the same is November 30th, so I still have almost an entire month to work on this project, plus given that we have our reading week coming in, We will have even more time to perfect the final submissions.
3. Networking Opportunities
Apart from the wide range of choices for submission and an appropriate amount of time for the deadline, one of the other factors that is affecting my decision is obviously the cast of wonderful and industry-leading artists who will be the judges for this challenge.
And a cast of judges like that obviously would attract a cast of very enthusiastic participants as well. Plus KitBash 3D is a big name in the industry so thousands of participants participate in its contests for example "Mission Minerva" a contest that was hosted by kitbash back in 2022 had more than 32000 participants from 174 different countries. So that naturally makes it a great place to network with passionate individuals from around the world.

This mess mainly started with me. I didn’t plan to make this public, but I have just about had it and my patience is running thin.
On June 20th, Kumamoto’s admin had reached out to me to make birthday art for their OC, Aoba. I, in all my excitement, ignored all red flags and got started with the consultation and begun the drawing process straight away.
That is where I am at fault and most certainly could have avoided this entire situation entirely.
The process had felt oddly demanding despite the lack of responses, the image below being one of few examples.
I was of the understanding that there was a language barrier between us and let it slide, although these sort of interactions had been very hurtful. On top of that, two alterations to the artpiece were requested (the first borderline demanded, the second being more polite) when things should have been settled during the consultation, and not during the process.
They received the final artpiece on July 15th immediately upon completion. That was the moment they brought up an issue with their preferred method of payment.
This back and forth of me reminding them to pay and then only responding when I brought it to their attention continued for the next three days with nothing being done. I would catch them talking in the discord server we were both a part of at the time, they even dared to bring up Aoba’s birthday while I was being kept waiting.
Images below show the time stamp between private DMs and the group server. I implore readers to take a close look at the times and the dates which are recorded in [month/date/year]
I’ve stopped reaching out to them on July 17th to give them some space to figure out on their own despite the fact that they had several weeks while I worked on the art to get things sorted out.
Fast forward to July 21st, I reached out to them yet again. Only then had they been more apologetic and better well-mannered.
It was then that I realized that I made a major error of not realizing sooner that this particular client, who also once had full access to the 18+ areas inn our shared discord server, participated in NSFW week when it was made clear that minors were to not interact, and sought after adult OC's, was a minor this whole time. They have made several other admins uncomfortable with their antics, and to find out about this information now, it is unacceptable. I'm only lucky to have not blindly reported them prior to learning about this fact, seeing as this could've gone south.
I had hoped to keep this a private matter and to settle it on my own. However, knowing how this small mess ended up affecting other wonderful people in this community, I'm coming forward with the truth. I will still settle this matter quietly, seeing as this was my own issue to begin with.
Regardless if this admin is a minor and is low on options, they must be held accountable for their actions. It is no different than a dine-and-dash. I have been extremely generous in extending their deadline date to send in final payments multiple times now. However, seeing Aoba's birthday event carry on while I've been cheated out of several weeks' worth of work is the final straw.
If any other comm artists comes across this, please do not follow in my footsteps. Take proper precautions, no matter who your client is.
If you've made it this far in reading, thank you so much for hearing me out and I sincerely hope this doesn't happy to anybody else. Have a good day, afternoon, evening, or night, people of the internet. This has been Zephyrine Willburn, admin of Akihabara Division (Pixel Syndicate) and Minato Division (R.I.P Märchen).
Side note: even through all this, everyone may have their own opinion. But don’t go and harass Kumamoto’s admin directly. Leave them be and do not engage. Thank you.
ATTENTION!
Hello everyone, I have some rather unfortunate news regarding the server, don't worry I'm not deleting it but I am going get rid of the invite link on the masterlist (not that it matters since it's most likely expired by now).
I'm sure you all have questions as to why and the reason is that we've recently had a troubling encounter with a minor (who you all may know as Kumamoto Division) that was lying about their age and was in our 18+ section. I will take partial responsibility since I did not put up the proper precautions nor did I push for them to reveal their age (which they most likely would've lied about again).
Again, I would like to take responsibility for my part of the incident as server owner and apologize, I intend to correct this mistake by officially declaring the Hypnosis Microphone OC Community Discord Server as an 18 AND OVER SERVER WHICH MEANS THAT MINORS SHOULD NOT JOIN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, THIS IS AN ADULT SERVER FILLED WITH ADULTS. MINORS AND PEOPLE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE ARE NOT ALLOWED AND WILL BE REPORTED AND BANNED WITH NO QUESTION SHOULD THEY GET CAUGHT LYING ABOUT THEIR AGE. (Looking at you Kumamoto).
Another thing I would like to note, since I am removing the invite link from my masterlist, that does not mean that those interested (and are over 18) cannot join the server. All you have to do is DM me saying that you want to join, the only REQUIREMENT we have is that YOU ARE OVER THE AGE OF 18 PLEASE.
I believe that's all I want to say, while I am disappointed that a situation like this has happened in our beloved community, I am glad to have been acknowledged so that I can make sure nothing like this can happen in the future.
Thank you for understanding.
- Renata (Sai)

My newest hyperfixation (New is relative I’ve been on this for weeks now) is Aquascaping, the concept of taking a fish tank, maybe a small one, maybe large, and creating an artpiece with it from living things. Like LOOK AT THIS
And THIS??
They tell stories with the tanks, worlds contained in a cube of water, entire landscapes with fish like dragons, shrimp like birds
And the community is massively nice, they share tips and tricks, advice on where to find the best plants and animals, they’re insanely dedicated to the health of fish, FISH! I’ve hated the pictures of Bettas in tiny sterile glass jars, where they get sick swimming in circles of their own waste. Aquascapers with a betta?
They make them the STAR of a prized exhibit, water changes once a week, blood worms as a treat and reward for tricks. THEY TRAIN FISH!?!! And they welcome everyone new to the hobby, with a tiny tank and plants, or a massive tank and an axolotl it doesn’t matter, all are celebrated because the more people who get into it the more they can rant and obsess over this artform. What could they talk about? TONS! There’s different styles of aquascaping!
“Nature Aquariums” are the ones above, and this style was invented by Takashi Amano in the 90s, it emphasizes the beauty of nature both terrestrial and aquatic.
“Iwagumi Style” aquscapes are about simplicity, a field of moss with a single rock to the leftmost side and a school of guppies drifting above or a hardscape made to emulate rocky gnolls with a cover of grass. This style was also invented by Amano in the mid 80s, and although it looks simple, the slow growing moss is hard to cultivate in the perfect way.
And then there’s the Dutch Style, invented in the 1930s by the Dutch Society of Aquarists, this style is about CONTRAST, vibrancy against muted tones, hot and cold colours mixed to draw the eye, a great explosion of planted art.
And there’s so much more! I could rant for ages, about the time it takes to grow the plants and acclimate the water, and test for water hardness or CO2 injection, or ammonia levels, the debate still raging about whether or not you need UV light for optimal growth conditions, the diet planning for different species of fish, it goes on! I just... I really love this niche hobby that has been around for over a century quietly passing on a passionate love for the beauty of aquatic life.

My Captain
Pairing: Captain Walter Syverson x Reader
Summary: You are the only one by his side to heal him after Captain Syverson gets attacked in the field. As an army medic, you do your best to stay professional, but Syverson makes it a bit of a challenge.
Warning(s): gore, injury, mentions of suicide, handjob, blowjob, dirty talk, slight voyeurism/exhibitionism
Word Count: 3,930
A/N: Apologies for no gif, i couldn’t find any that fit this scene and I didn’t want to settle for a random one of Sy, so I put nothing:(
The door to the bathroom slams open as you half-limp to the bathtub, your captain struggling to remain conscious. Syverson is a big guy, even for military standards, but your thorough army training allows you to help keep him on his feet, though you struggle to do much more than that. You place him in the bathtub but accidentally lose your grip at the last second. He falls with a cringeworthy thud that is sure to leave a deep bruise on his glute.
“Shit, I’m sorry--I lost my grip,” you get out as you hurry back through the captain’s main room--damn, his quarters are way nicer than yours; he’s living like a king in comparison to your shared dorm--and find his emergency aid kit. There’s enough gauze and stitches in it to cover his wounds. You rush back to the bathroom and turn on the faucet. Hot water comes pouring out, instantly filling the room with steam.
Syverson’s eyelids droop. That’s a worrying sign, especially since the skin around his mouth is still blue.
You reach for your swiss knife on your belt--the last clean weapon you have--and slice open the captain’s bloodied shirt. He isn’t much help in getting his clothing over his shoulders and down his legs, but after a minute or two of awkward struggling you toss the ruined clothes in the corner to deal with later.
By now the tub is halfway full, sloshing around Syverson’s legs as you maneuver around his body, trying to clean out the wounds on his arms before stitching them shut with half-shaking hands. You’ve dealt with wounded soldiers in the field before, too many times to count, but this is different. This is your captain, your leader, the person you and the rest of your unit turn to for guidance on anything and everything, and he’s bleeding out right in front of you--while simultaneously suffering from hypothermia.
Syverson mumbles something, but he speaks too softly for you to understand him. Still, the sound of his voice gets your attention and you look up to see his eyes closed. You tap his cheek three times to get him to wake up again.
“...fucking hurts,” you hear him mumble.
You nod. “I know, but it’s almost over. You just gotta hold on, okay? Keep your eyes on me, okay?”
You turn your attention back to his bicep, pulling the thread through your last stitch to his bullet wound. You sigh in relief just as you see the water begin to stir. One glance down at Syverson’s body tells you that his legs are shaking--he’s shivering.
“I shouldn’t be… shiverin’ … in hot water, right?” He struggles to get out through waves of fatigue and pain and cold.
“It’s good,” you assure him. “Shivering means your body is warming up again. You were too cold to shiver before. The blood loss wasn’t helping either, but your wounds are closed now, so that should help.”
Silence passes between you. He makes an obvious effort to keep his eyes open and not let his teeth chatter. You watch as the color in his face returns to normal, a lively red filling his cheeks and lips again.
You begin to rise to your feet. “Okay, I’ll wait in the room--”
He grabs your hand before you can move. You stare down at it, your brain trying to process the sight in front of you. He didn’t just grab your hand. He laced his fingers through your own. He holds your hand with a desperate grip, a terrified grip. Syverson has never let himself look like anything other than a god of war in front of his men. But right now is different. Your captain is in enough pain to make him scared; ten minutes ago he was giving death a stare-down, so you can’t entirely blame him. It’s just… alarming. You’ve never seen him look like this before. He’s never seemed so… human.
Just one more thing to add to the neverending list of things that makes Syverson hot as fucking hell.
“S-stay,” he whimpers out. His voice is so weak that you suddenly feel bad for ogling over him, even if it was only for a few seconds.
“I won’t go anywhere,” you promise him and move to sit beside the tub.
The water fills with blood and dirt and grime quickly. You have to drain the tub and refill it twice before the water is anything close to clean. By that point Syverson is back to his senses and refuses to tell you how bad the pain is, no matter how many times you remind him that you’re the medic and it’s crucial that he be honest with you.
I ain’t dying, so quit acting like I am, is all he says.
Now that the mood in the room has settled, you can no longer ignore the fact that your captain is completely naked in front of you. You force yourself to keep your gaze on his wounds, refusing to look anywhere south of his chest, but the temptation is still there. A taut warmth makes its home in the pit of your stomach. It takes everything in you to not focus on the… particular body parts you can sneak into your peripheral vision.
Stay professional, you scold yourself.
“I’m dirty as all hell,” Syverson says suddenly, breaking the tense silence. He nods towards the sink. “There’s a sponge under the sink. Hand me it, will ya?”
You find it easily, though hold back from laughing at the fact that Captain Walter Syverson owns a pink shower puff.
“Don’t you dare.” He scowls as he takes it from you and begins to scrub his arms clean of dirt, careful to avoid his fresh stitches.
You hold your hands up innocently. “I wasn’t doing anything.”
“You were thinking it.” Syverson struggles to reach his shoulders and winces as he stretches to scrub his back.
You move to sit behind him and tell him you can do it. He offers you the shower puff and you slowly, gently begin to clean his back, mesmerized by the artpiece between his shoulder blades. You’ve never seen Syverson completely shirtless before, so this is your first time seeing the tattoo. It’s two rows of dates written in thick Roman numerals: 08.12.1980 - 09.11.2001. You’ve seen these kinds of tattoos before. They’re in remembrance of someone you’ve lost, usually their birthday to their death date. You get the urge to ask Syverson who died, who he lost, but you know him well enough to know that he’d be grateful if you didn’t pry. So you stay silent, instead continuing to scrub his back and the parts of his arms he missed.
Once his back is clean you move back to his side and start to clean his legs, starting at his ankles and working your way up. You’re so focused on the water and soap in your hands, in every scar and fresh cut your hands rub against as you clean him, that you hardly hear him speak.
“It was my brother,” Syverson says.
You look up at him, not knowing what he’s referring to. “What was?”
“The tatt,” he confesses. “I know you saw it.”
You’re quiet, resisting the urge to voice every question you’re thinking right now. You never knew Syverson had siblings, let alone a brother that he’d lost.
“Thank you,” Syverson says as you make your way to his knees, your heart racing faster the further up his leg you move.
You pause. “Why are you thanking me?”
“You didn’t ask about it,” he explains. “Most people are too curious to be respectful and shut their mouths. And you didn’t look at me with pity when I told you it was my brother. Everyone does. I fucking hate it.”
You shrug. “It’s your story. You shouldn’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to.”
“You’ve lost someone,” he realizes.
You’re quiet. It’s hard to grow up in a military family and not have lost a few people. Of course you’ve lost someone. Doesn’t mean you ever want to say the words out loud. But Syverson told you, and it’s only fair. “My cousin. He, um… he killed himself.”
Syverson doesn’t say anything, just nods, but the look in his eyes when he holds your gaze… you feel seen. You feel like he’s heard everything you didn’t say. It’s a weird feeling. Not bad, but not exactly good either. But it helps.
You return to cleaning his legs. You move as slow as you can, making sure to clean over every inch of skin twice, but it’s only a matter of time before you make it past his thighs and have nothing left to clean but his navel.
“Um…” Shit, your breathing is unsteady. He can no doubt hear the nerves in your voice. You avoid his gaze as you ask, “Do you want me to…?” Do you want me to clean your navel? I’ll happily clean your cock too, just say the word.
Instead of answering he grabs your wrist and draws your hand and the shower puff towards the pit of his stomach. Your heart skips a beat. Two. Fuck, you can feel how wet you are suddenly. For the first time you let your gaze drop to his manhood. He’s blessed with a good eight inches and thick girth, so thick you have to wonder how the hell he can get inside a woman without splitting her in two. Dark hairs curl above the base of his shaft, and his balls look heavy and smooth. Heat rushes to your face as you feel your mouth begin to water. What the hell is wrong with you? You have no doubt that Syverson is aware of exactly which part of him you’re staring at, and you can practically feel him gloating. Still, you can’t bring yourself to tear your eyes away from him.
“Sy--”
“I want you,” he confesses.
You swallow, unable to meet his gaze. He’s delirious from the blood loss, or maybe the heat in the room is getting to you and you’re hallucinating--
“I’ve wanted you since that night you walked in on me and Captain Gonzalez,” Syverson continues, and his words bring back a flood of memories that, until now, you’ve managed to suppress.
You’d been wandering to the captain’s quarters--you were bringing something to him, but now you can’t remember what it was--and stopped to knock on his door when you heard the sound of someone moaning in what you thought had been pain. So you’d opened the door, your mind switching from Sergeant to Medic in less than a second, and froze when you saw what was actually happening.
Captain Gonzalez, one of the three captains on base, was on her hands and knees. Her black hair--normally combed back into a perfect low bun--was knotted and sticking to her face with thick droplets of sweat. Her eyes were closed in what could only be described as pleasure so intense it’s borderline painful. She gripped the bedsheets in front of her like they were a lifeline while Captain Syverson fucked into her from behind like a dog in heat. The muscles in his stomach and arms flexed with each thrust, and the way his brow furrowed in concentration on top of the animalistic grunts he made with each movement made you gasp. Luckily, Gonzalez didn’t hear and therefore didn’t open her eyes amidst her blissful orgasm, but Syverson heard. Syverson looked from his lover to you. His pace didn’t stop, merely slowed as he held your gaze. And then, when he realized you couldn’t seem to look away, he sped up his movements, pounding into the other women with such strength and intensity that the headboard banged against the wall. He was putting on a show for you. A predator toying with his prey, making you completely aware of every ounce of power inside his body. Making you aware of everything he was capable of, the pain and pleasure he was able to make someone drown in. For several seconds you stood frozen, unable to walk away from this side of him. He was the pure embodiment of strength and dominance--though there was nothing pure about it. You raced out of the room as soon as your brain figured out how to work again. You didn’t dare look back.
You thought he’d forgotten about it. You thought you’d imagined him catching you. You thought the entire encounter had been a dream.
But Syverson’s words make your worst nightmare come true.
You pull your hand away, dropping the shower puff and letting it bounce on the surface of the water. “I’m so sorry, I never meant to walk in on you--”
“But you were glad you did,” he says. “I can see it all over your face. You haven’t been the same around me since that night. You barely look me in the eyes anymore. Because you liked it, right? Because you liked watching your captain fuck someone, liked knowing I can make a woman scream so easily, huh? Tell me, did you touch yourself to the thought of me when you went back to your dorm that night?”
“Syverson--” you begin.
“Would it make you feel better if you knew I jerked off to the thought of you, too? The way you looked at me, that cute little blush on your cheeks and your eyes glued to my body--fuck, it left me unsatisfied even after Gonzalez had had her fill.” He lifts his hand from the water and grips your chin between his thumb and forefinger, forcing you to look him in the eyes. He searches your face for something. “I want you, and I know you want me.”
You open your mouth but he beats you to it.
“Am I wrong?”
You hesitate before shaking your head, admitting what you always swore you would keep secret. “But you’re my captain.”
“I don’t care about rank,” he insists. “Not in here. Not right now.”
You swallow, unable to walk away from him. You want this--god, do you want this with him. You didn’t realize how much until that night you walked in on him, but it was undeniable after that. And you’ve spent too many nights since then getting yourself off to the thought of him fucking you just like that, doing your best to muffle your moans into your pillow so as not to wake your roommate. You’re tired of just using your own hand to find your release; you want to know what it would feel like with his fingers between your folds instead.
“I want you to touch me,” Syverson says. “But I won’t force you. You’ll only do this if you let yourself.”
You hesitate. You don’t even know where to start. “H-how?”
“The way you’ve thought about doing since that night.” His voice is barely more than a whisper, but it sends shivers down your spine and steals the breath from your lungs.
Before you can talk yourself out of it you lower your hand into the water and wrap your hand around the base of his shaft. He’s long enough that his tip breaks the water’s surface. You can see how red it is, and you can’t tell if it’s bath water or precum making his tip shine, but you want to taste it nonetheless.
“Fuck, you’ve no idea how long I’ve wanted to see this,” Syverson curses. “How long I’ve wanted to feel your hand wrapped around my cock. Go ahead, baby, move your hand up and down.”
You’re hesitant at first. Even once you begin to move, your hand is shaky and unsure. Syverson wraps his hand around your own--fuck, he makes your hand look so tiny, it’s almost laughable--and guides you up and down his cock at a pace and grip that he prefers. He closes his eyes in pleasure. The sight of him like this--open and vulnerable and lustful and godlike--makes your thighs clench together. You almost lose yourself in the sight of the blissed-out expression on his face before remembering that you have a task to do and you turn your attention back to his shaft. He drops his hand back to his side and lets you continue. You take pride in the fact that you know how to do it now, and when he releases his first “fuck!” and a deep moan quickly after, you’re practically glowing with pride. Or you would be, if the sight of him and the sounds he’s making only for you weren’t so arousing. You speed up your ministrations and even add a second hand to the water to begin massaging his balls. You’re not entirely sure what you’re doing--you’ve never actually been physical with a guy before--but you’ve watched enough porn to know the basics. Syverson’s breathing speeds up and he throws his head back. You watch with lustful adoration as his abs clench and unclench with every breath he struggles to take.
“Does this feel good?” you dare to ask, your voice breaking through the quiet in the room.
“Shit, baby, you’re gonna make me cum if you keep that up,” he growls.
The way he says baby with that Texan accent of his makes you swoon. How can he make such a simple word sound so dirty?
Your hand moves up and down his shaft twice, three more times before he squeezes your wrist to make you stop. You freeze, thinking you’ve done something wrong. When you look up at him, his blue-eyed gaze is on you.
“I ain’t wasting my seed in this bathwater,” he says. “The only way I’m coming is if it’s inside of you.”
Your eyes pop. The alarm must be written all over your face because he’s quick to explain himself.
“Your mouth, baby,” Syverson says. “I wanna cum in your mouth.”
His candor leaves you speechless. Your entire face is burning with an intense blush and your mouth is dry. You know you won’t be able to answer him verbally. So instead you turn towards the drain and pull it up. Syverson’s gaze is so intense that it burns a hole in the side of your face, but you can’t bring yourself to look at him. He’s turned you into shaking putty, but you’re not complaining. The way he makes you feel wanted more than any other woman with just his words, the way he makes you feel sexy and powerful with the way he looks at you… it’s definitely startling, but it’s addicting too.
“When I’m healed,” Syverson begins, “and I can actually move without it feeling like every bone in my body is breaking, I’m going to fuck you.”
He’s not asking for permission. He’s telling you. There’s something so dominant about that. It makes your toes curl.
“I need to be inside of you, darlin’,” he continues. “I need to know what you feel like when I enter you, need to know the sounds you make when I fuck you to your fifth orgasm. You got that?”
You finally bring your eyes to his and nod. Somehow your body is burning up yet covered in goosebumps. Have you ever wanted someone with the intensity that you want your captain?
The last of the water finally drains out of the tub and you hop inside. Syverson is large enough that it’s a tight fit with the both of you, but you manage to fit between his legs. You move to your hands and knees, staring at his cock just inches from your face.
“Put me in your mouth baby,” he moans.
And you do. The salt of his precum hits your tastebuds instantly, but it’s not a completely horrible taste. You manage to fit the majority of him inside of your mouth, something he’s clearly surprised about.
“Fuck baby, have you done this before? Let other soldiers fuck that perfect little mouth of yours?”
You don’t answer, instead just focus on not gagging too much around his shaft. You don’t succeed for long. By the time you pull back and take in a deep gasp of air, spit is running down your chin and your eyes are watering.
“You’ve no idea how fuckin’ hot you look right now,” Syverson says, sounding like he’s under a trance.
His filthy words spur you on and you put him back in your mouth. You begin to bob your head up and down and move your hand along the base of him, which you still can’t manage to fit inside your mouth. He only lasts a few seconds with you in control. You jump when you feel his good hand move to the back of your hand.
“Can I fuck your mouth?” he asks.
You moan in response, and you hope he knows that means yes.
He knots his fingers in your hair and begins to move your head along his shaft at a much faster pace. You can’t breathe through your mouth anymore and instead focus on getting air through your nose as your eyes water again. Syverson makes a sound you’ve never heard from him before--a sound of someone tumbling over an edge, a sound of losing control and loving every second of it--and a second later your mouth is filled with the warm, salty taste of his cum. You swallow every warm drop that falls against your tongue.
It’s only when you finally pull away from him that you realize the gravity of what you’ve just done. You just gave your boss a blowjob. You just bathed him while he was completely naked. You just admitted that you have a crush on him, even if you didn’t use as many words.
“Shit,” you breathe out.
“What is it?” Syverson asks, still fighting through his haze of pleasure.
“I can’t believe we just did this,” you admit. “I can’t believe I just…” You can’t even say it out loud. What had you been thinking?! You hadn’t been thinking, that much is clear.
“No one has to know,” he assures you. It doesn’t make you feel any better. So he adds, “And if someone does find out, which I’m sure as hell won’t happen, I’ll tell them the truth.”
You frown. “The truth?”
“That I came onto you,” he says. “And with me being your superior, you didn’t want to say no.”
“Syverson, that’s not true--”
“No one needs to know that,” he assures you. “I ain’t gonna let you get in trouble for this, alright? You gotta trust me.”
Well… he’s never let you down before. He’s kept his promises. He’s a good, trustworthy leader. You have no reason to not believe him. But still… “I can’t let you take the fall for this.”
He shrugs, then winces, instantly regretting the nonchalant movement. “The worst that’ll happen is I get probation. I won’t be able to go out to the field with y’all for a month. You’ll probably be under Gonzalez’s jurisdiction for a bit. That’s all.”
“That sounds serious,” you say.
He just brings his good hand to the side of your face and brushes his thumb across your cheek. “I knew the stakes when you carried me in here, Sergeant. I took the risk anyway. I’m gonna be the one who takes the fall for it. But trust me when I say it’ll be okay. I ain’t letting anything happen to you.”
And with the way his blue eyes shine with sincerity, you can’t help but believe him.

Greetings wonderful artist which art I adore. You are a major inspiration, especially with the cloth designs coming around.
However... I wondered if I could ask for a little something, I'm also an artist but somehow I'm managing to get the audience to see my art, recently (as I type this... Yesterday) I finished this little portrait.
I wondered if you could give your honest opinion and perhaps a little bit of advise on how I could get some audience.
With care,
👑 Romano ( @the-royal-prince )
P.S. I was talking about this artpiece:
https://the-royal-prince.tumblr.com/post/679226536660008960
P.S.S If you are curious for my few other pieces #Romano Creates, there isn't too much arts around. But I love them and I would like a little bit of affection for them, honesty speaking.
Hey ! First of all thank you so much, I'm really glad you like my designs ! ♥
Artistic feedback is always a little difficult for me. Everyone's got their styles and preferences and different tools / programs / processes, and I have zero technical training for anything to make me even remotely legitimate. For what my opinion's worth though, you've got an incredible eye for poses, and the level of attention to details (those SHOES DARN), anatomy and texture is wonderful ! I would use more saturated colors with a change of hues for shading (watch me try to give at least a bit of useful advice) but once again, that's up to everyone and what style / effects you want to achieve.
As for the audience reach, I don't know if I'm all that qualified to give much advice either, I'm kinda going with the flow without much of a strategy regardless of the platform. Some of my posts do flop hard. But I can definitely try !
One, we're talking about Tumblr here -which means that you don't have to fight an algorithm, it's great news ! Instagram is much crueler (although it gives you the reach of your post, which is useful data for comparison purposes). It doesn't mean things are perfect, but still, as long as your post shows up in the tags*, your audience will mostly depend on whether or not people reblog it.
Two, it will probably seem really obvious but the more people reblog, the more your piece will go around. The growth is exponential, so once you hit a certain number of reblogs, it will keep going. I recently made a piece I'm really fond of that took hours of my time, and got 11 likes / no reblogs. That's it. It didn't reach the mark, and got stuck. What I mean is that you don't have to reach an audience of 500+ or whatever people yourself, it doesn't look as impossible and daunting when you see it that way !
Three, if it's only been a day, don't sweat it too much. It's not Instagram. Sometimes it can take a bit of time for a post to take off -hell, my puppet series got unburied from the depths of my blog today and I have no idea why. I still get notes for my Lis2 and Night Vale stuff, and it's old. You never know when / if something's gonna happen.
On how to hit that "reblog mark", though, I'm not entirely sure. As I said, some of my stuff doesn't. Posting for big, active fandoms, making funny stuff even if it doesn't look too good, as well as drawing ships or several characters on the same piece / post (shows up in more tags) seem to help. Posting a lot means that people will see you a lot, too, and might follow your blog -meaning they'll never miss anything you draw from there on (careful not to burn yourselves out though it's not worth it I mean it). I noticed the notes going up when I do that, if it can be of any use to you ? I DON'T KNOW ?
Finally, as a reminder for everyone, including me : quality doesn't seem to affect the numbers that much, as I'm sure all artists have experienced some "my big piece is flopping why do my stick men meme doodles get so many notes" moments. It can be disheartening when people don't see it and don't share it, but... It doesn't mean the quality isn't there. It's important to still have fun while drawing, regardless of the results ! Which is easy to say, sure. But still, it's important.
*This site being notoriously broken, sometimes posts just don't appear in the tags. You can search the tag to check if things suddenly start flopping out of nowhere.
#Hi I cannot for the life of me be concise#I had made another post about this issue but I can't find it anymore#I'll try looking for it later#I have no clue how I do it folks if a post takes off it's a happy coincidence#my notes have been declining recently and I get why I think#I get disappointed for a hot second and shrug it off#there's almost always an explanation and it's usually not related to your worth as an artist#but I do get the feeling I do and it's okay to feel that way ! it will come eventually I'm sure#I hope I made sense

" Looking at my pussy, you decided that this soul doesn't deserve anything that every human does...
My single pussy said a lot about my whole life when i was just inhaling my initial breaths, but why couldn't my other organs that resembled a male body were not able to do the same?
Your eyes grimaced on my pussy, but they couldn't reflect any pride on my hands, my shoulder, my head, my heart, that you felt on a body with a protruding urethra...
This infant was so unaware of the wicked scribbles of bleakening sexism being circumvoluted around her life, until that she cried like any other infant, smiled like any other infant, resided on this earth like any other infant and then she learned to understand things, then she learned that what her body had between her legs wasn't what everyone had, that the world was divided into two physical categories based on the urethra, mere urethra when she learned the epistrophe of her entire life.... "LIKE A GIRL".
~She was taught to be like a girl; her laughs shouldn't be heard, guess the world couldn't even bare women to be happy,
~She was told to talk like a girl;
that meant to stay silent as
much as possible, guess her voice and words were never meant to escape her body,
~She was suppose to behave and look like a girl; like an artpiece, that meant that people should know you existed but your existence wasn't meant to be felt, that meant you only breathed to decorate the lives of men,
~She was born to live like a girl;that meant no dreams, no voice, no opinions, no choice, no emotions, no worth and no life, like?? Yeah like a marionette.
So she now knew everything that her pussy spoke about her, or i should say, she only knew about what her mere pussy spoke about, because rest of her didn't say anything. She learned to worship men, yeah who were given respect beyond humans, considered as gods. Why? Because of that thingy between their legs, but she had no problem with it, she knew that she was a female and that meant nothing, of course nothing in front of men, female have been below humans in this hierarchy of livers, where women were at the bottom of this ladder, humans were supposed to be in the middle and men were above human. So actually, neither of them were humans where men were not mere humans because they never heard of them being just a human, in every aspect they have been treated like supreme, as a father, he's a god, as a husband, he's a god and as a son he's a god where as females weren't human because they never were treated like one. Why?? Yess! Because of that thing between her legs, because her human body didn't speak or wasn't heard, the only thing that was heard was her silent sleeping pussy! 🌸
The human inside her was killed much before when she didn't even know how to speak. This is why when you have to insult a man, you tell him to wear bangles, when a lil boy cries, you tell him not to cry... Like? Yh "like a girl", when you have to embarrass someone, you tell them "don't be a girl", Why? Because women are not humans, they are never considered one and on the flip side when you have to motivate someone, you say "man up", don't you? Because the men are considered leaders, representatives and the ones with innate power. Why? Because of that hanging thingy between their legs, so now you know why "like a girl" has always been a bad adjective and "like a man" is a spirulina capsule.
So "like a girl" is as weakening as "Abra kedavra"
And "like a man" is as magnificent as Harry potter spell "Expecto petronum" .
Now she grew up, yh the one with pussy and realized that there was more to the tale of physiological differences between male and female crotch, far away from being mere a urinary passage. So now this property of man, she went through some nightmares and woke up to another nightmare of her life where the one with pussy gave birth to another one 👶, with pussy, so now she was judged upon her own pussy and her daughter's too!
Now whatever this female had gone through her life was passed on to this lil human who was not obliged to be a human. Why? Yess! Because of that thing between her legs.
Sometimes it feels like this hanging thingy is like a wand;a wand that chooses its owner to be a male.
But the sad part is that the ones with wands, all want to worship "Voldemort"!
So now I ask you, who are you?
Are you the one with the wand? If you are, please try to be a Severus or Albus and if you don't have the wand, lemme tell you this doesn't make you a muggle so what if you don't have the wand, you must have heard of the wandless magic✨.
AND DON'T LET YOUR PUSSY BE YOUR WEAKENING DEFINITION,
YOUR PUSSY AIN'T A BAD LUCK, IT'S YOUR POWER!!!
LOVE YOUR SELF, MENTALLY, EMOTIONALLY AND PHYSICALLY TOO.
Let's not pass on what we have been through, let's be our power, and learn to rise, let's put a stop on rape culture, we're strong enough, yh the one's with pussies♥️🌸"

Digging through the archives 1: The ReBoot drama
Hello and welcome to one of the first “subsections” of posts I am going to make on this tumblr for the sake of an easier overview. This one is titlted “Digging through the archives”, because it will always relate to something I will find by literally looking for some of the oldest “opinion” or personal related stuff about Dobson that there is. So think of this here less as me tackling his comics and more of my own version of what the Hypocrisy of Andrew Dobson does.
With that explanation out of the way, lets just briefly talk about Dobson and his idea of fan entitlement; If you have followed Dobson throughout the last year or so, you know he has a very low opinion on fans of the original She-Ra and He-Man, 80s cartoons in general and Star Wars, to the point he thinks the people behind it are all potential alt righters (link red flag comic) or basically man children.
To anyone who knows Dobson however, it would be no surprise now to learn that he has a tendency to be the same kind of way to other people and creators. Like when he whined to an actual writer on a Frozen related property about the necessity of giving Elsa a girlfriend, which even resulted in Aaron Sparrow being involved at one point, a professional animator and comic writer on the Boom Comics related Darkwing Duck issues. A prime example on how Dobson will literally make himself also unsympathetic to the people he wants to work for/with.
But then there is what I found in relation to a little animated series by the name of ReBoot and that is really where both his entitlement and egotism kinda shine.
For those unaware: ReBoot was a computer animated adventure show produced by Mainframe Entertainment and ran from 1994 to 2001. It is actually listed as the first fully computer animated cartoon out there and is fondly remembered by a lot of people. Unfortunately, I myself have never watched it so I can’t give a “valid” opinion on it. All I have seen so far are clips on youtube but I will admit that what I have seen in them looks fun and intriguing, even if the animation at parts (especially in season 1 related content) has not aged that well. But hey, early computer animation, that is forgivable. And any media that manages to make an episode that is also in a way a huge tribute to Evil Dead of all things in a children cartoon is a big win for me.
youtube
Now, how is ReBoot connected to Dobson? Dobson has been a fan of ReBoot, a fact he made publicly known when in 2007 rumors of a continuation of ReBoot emerged. Something Dobson, again, the man who is pissed about the entitlement of She-Ra fans, has not been very happy about.
But Dobson, what is so wrong about being “different” from the past? After all, let the past die! The original show had terrible artwork! And not everything back in the day was good, right?
Yeah, it is pretty obvious how his complaining and stands against “modern” fans ring pretty hollow when he himself acted as the entitled brat he thinks critics of new She-Ra and Thundercats Roar are, back in 2007 already. Also I honestly feel that at the very least the creators of that idea gave their fans still more “control” than Rian Johnson did. And we all know how much Star Wars suffered in terms of reputation because of it.
BTW, this webcomic continuation mentioned? It is actually not just a rumor that went nowhere, but one of the most fascinating aspects I found when reading up on ReBoot via Wikipedia. The idea was that of the five potential pitches (so again, there was variety given that even could have been expanded on) people could choose one that would be further adapted. Additionally the people behind the idea were looking for more active input by fans, giving people the chance to apply as artists working on it if they decided to submit samples people could vote on. Something Dobson jumped actually on. And tried to manipulate in his own favor
The thing that catches my attention at first is how hyperbole Dobson is. Claiming the fate of the show is in their hands and treating voting on this thing like it’s a live or die situation, with pointlessly writing stuff in caps as if we are reading the headline of some trashy newspaper article. It just comes off less as someone who is a fan and more of a fanatic of the show. Second, I just find it hilarious that of all the plattforms online Dobson decided to post that “VERY IMPORTANT” information people should act immediately on, was deviantart. Did he genuinely expect people would flock to what he wrote in order to immediately do something about the vote? Deviantart even back then was mostly for posting fanart, few people read journals and even less people cared for ReBoot. I don’t know if the /co/ board of 4chan existed back in 2007 already, but he would have had more success posting on there and get the information out, than on dA.
Lastly, the shameless self promotion. Stating he does not care which pitch wins, when only three day prior he whined how they all suck and he wishes the show would be done justice by someone. That someone obviously being him, the person who is so hardcore as a fan, because he already waited 8 years just to watch season 3. Damned be any other artists or pitches that may be better or more popular than him, HE is the true messiah and that is his chance to shine. So don’t be “neutral” and judge fairly based on actual competence, talent and effort, just vote for him blindly or else Trump wins the second term and your beautiful nation turns into the fourth rei- I mean, Dobson will be a very sad guy who has come to terms with the fact he is not talented enough to work on a reboot/continuation of his favorite children show.
Well, it seemed to have had some impact though, as four day later he posted this
And obviously Dobson is pissed his favorite pitch did not win and instead of being grateful for the good ratings some of his artwork got he focuses instead on the fact that his Enzo and Megabyte pic had the lowest rating. Which in my opinion it kinda deserved. I mean, look at those artpieces:
Enzo is okayish looking but the rest? That is not Megabyte and a genuine background, it is a cola light version of the entire Ripley disaster with the Samus Artwork commission. Also, Enzo’s hands just look weird. His fingers more alien than they need to be and the position of his legs not really adjusting to how the hip is supposed to move. The comic sample page that Dobson drew being okay overall, aside of the fact that Enzo in one panel HAS FOUR INSTEAD OF FIVE FINGERS ON ONE HAND DESPITE HAVING FIVE FINGERS IN A PREVIOUS PANEL. I am also not really a fan of how Dobson puts emphasize on the word “FAN” and “PAGES” in the post, indicating he thinks he is a better and bigger fan than any of the people who submitted their entries too, off handedly praising them but also making it obvious he thinks he is the most fit for the job, because he can also “copy any artstyle” and adjust to the needs of his superiors. Yeah, sure. That’s why you are nowadays and with even more time and effort put into your work so “good” at imitating Ladybug, your comics look exactly like in the show…
Now considering that Dobson does not have ReBoot under his resume and likely tried his best to bury any enthusiasm for it, you can imagine how this chance at being an official artist ended up.
Not even much of a follow up or introspective in why he may have not won. His enthusiasm died within two days.
And honestly, I am surprised that as a result he did not fake depression and rage quit doing comics for a month or so as he did here and there.
And that is pretty much the end of the ReBoot drama, at least as far as I know.
If you are interested what happened with the comic project, here is what I managed to gather:
The project did actually not die in development, but “ReBoot: Arrival” would be reimagined under the name “Code of Honour” and be published online in three “issues” over the course of the next few months. The comic’s status as “canon” continuation of the show is however very much in the air, as quite a lot of people think it is something of a fanfiction, others think it is a good enough continuation that unfortunately still does not deliver on an “ultimate” ending of the franchise. That said, with additional plans like a movie trilogy never been realized and the “reboot” known as “ReBoot: The Guardian Code” having been perceived as an insult by fans and a disappointment by most audiences (which Dobson was surprisingly silent about) this comic seems to be the best thing fans can still hope for and read.

Yeah, I am not even kidding. The comic is still up. Here, have two links to independent pages if you want to either read it for the first time or revisit it for the sake of nostalgia.
As for Dobson, if he reads this, I just have one thing to say to you: Don’t you ever again try to whine about how entitled fanboys are, if you felt entitled enough yourself you tried to manipulate a competition in your own favor in the hope to become a writer and then exploit ReBoot for your own agenda and benefit.
