Since I'm far more comfortable being weird on 40k tumblr than I used to be, I'm gonna say some unhinged things.

Now that you've all been thoroughly warned, I'm thinking about which Primarchs would be the best or worst to deal with if they got pregnant:

Lion-You do not know he is pregnant. He would preffer it that way. He seems crankier, meaner, more reclusive, amd just a bit rounder, but you don't know about it until he winces and slinks off during a meeting, then returns a few hours later with babby in tow. No one is allowed to touch or even look at babby for at least a week.

Guilliman-He's doing pretty ok, but very anxious. Lots of body aches, but you have a hell of a time trying to convince him to ease off the work and rest. You often find him fast asleep on top of his desk. Constantly craving olives. Overall not too bad.

Horus-VERY proud papa-to-be. Constantly showing off his big ol belly and bragging about how knocked up he is. He has a canonical breeding kink, he's wearing every embarrassing maternity t-shirt he can find. Mortifying ordeal, but could be way worse.

Konrad-OH GOD, whoever impregnated this man, answer for your fucking crimes. Anyone who so much as breathes too loud in his vicinity is a skinless splatter on the pavement. Mercifully, he doesn't seem to want to leave his room. Just avoid him as much as possible and you might survive.

Sanguinius-Glowing, positively GLOWING! He's vibrant, elegant, happy, the type of thing people tell you being pregnant is like to try and convince you to have kids. Happy to let anyone rub his tummy. (Would he even give live birth or just lay an egg?) He's eepy, so very sleeby eepy. He just wants to nap. That just serves to make it cuter. The only issue is that in the later weeks he starts going broody. That will not be a fun time.

Fulgrim- Also an idealistic glowing beauty, but probably is a struggling a lot more than he lets on. You just know he's nauseous as hell and his feet hurt like a bitch. Give him a foot rub , he deserves it. Has a bunch of super long baby names picked out, Definitely rearranged the nursery seventeen times at least because it's "not good enough". And the second fact that thing comes out the womb it's dripped tf out. Little fuck is leaving the hospital in a Dior onesie. Fulgrim insists on doing his makeup before leaving the maternity ward, because he refuses to look as worn out as he is. Let this poor man REST.

Ferrus-Oof. I don't know much about him, but he strikes me as the type to have body image issues. Baby has a normal ass name like "John" or smth. When it's born he's scared to hold it with his metal hands, but bub doesn't care, falls right asleep in them.

Perturabo-ABORTION. He has no time for kids. But in the chance he does keep it, he's even more cranky and insufferable than ever. Yells at his own belly bc MiniPerty is kicking him while he's trying to work. Sending u prayers🙏

Dorn-Hmmm, idkkkk. I have not read enough about him. Dorn fans answer this one for me. But from what I do know he'd have a hard time describing as his complicated emotions about it. Would swaddle the Dornling in his grandpa's blanket.

Angron-OH FUCCKKKKKKK. You thought Konrad was bad!? The sad part is, all of the parts of him that want and love the baby are being punished for it by the nails. But can you fucking imagine a pregnant hormonal Angron!? The galaxy shakes in fear. The second sperm met egg, Khorne shifted uncomforably upon the Skull Throne.

Magnus-He's having a great time! Studying every parenting book he can find (TAKE NOTES EMPS!), getting cool belly tattoos, doing mysterious pregnancy rituals, psychically communicating with MiniMagnus once they're developed enough. Has a BIG belly, sometimes hard to maneuver. Probably twins. Sons always happy to give it a lil rub when he walks last. Often found lounging in his tower, lazily talking to bubby while reading, go ahead and give him a back massage.

Mortarion- As much as I think he'd look cute with a baby, I don't think he was ever at any point in his life healthy enough to carry one to term. Isha, fix his uterus, he needs to be a daddy immediately. If he was miraculously to get preggers, he'd definitely be cranky, but not overwhelmingly so. He'd love the kid, but occasionally pat his tummy and gently admonish it for being such a little nuisance.

Corax- Drawing a total blank here. Raven guardies tell me plz. But he might go broody too, goes with the bird theming.

The Khan- Continues riding his bike until he's physically too big to do so. You can't even try to stop him. Little Jag is travelling at Mach Fuck You every day. Labor is 5 seconds long, and as soon as the kid's delivered he's strapping it to his chest and getting right back in the saddle.

Vulkan-Biggest cuddlebug EVER!!! Joyous and glowing, always up for a belly rub. You just know his ass is 8 months pregnant and still in the forge, working on little practice weapons for his lil Salamander. His water will probaby break and he'll beg you to let him quench a sword in his own amniotic fluid (don't, that's gross) Prone to hot flashes, get him a nice cold drink plz.

Lorgar-A baby is joyous blessing! He's insanely happy about it, going on about how his body was "chosen to bring forth a wondrous being". Touching the tum is a religious experience. Gets a new tattoo to celebrate, if he can find the room.

Alpharius/Omegon: You either have no idea which one's pregnant, or they all somehow get pregnant at once. Twins are a guarantee either way.

I love your Kara. I’m so used to her being a one note racist when it comes to Kon-angst. Don’t get me wrong. That’s entertaining for easy angst. But it’s never criticized by anybody. How is she still on the league?

It’s nice to see her be a supportive figure who is worried for him.

Ty! ❤️ I will say I haven't read too much of Kara in the comics (Mae and Linda were my OG Supergirl back in the day and I just vastly preferred them when I was doing most of my reading), so I mostly got her vibe and backstory through the cartoons and fandom osmosis and then extrapolated a few things I hadn't seen explored about her much IN fandom for the takes on her I've written. But like, I've only really seen her be, like, REALLY anti-clone in the New 52, so I don't like to characterize her too strongly by any anti-clone sentiments even if I do sometimes include a bit of them underscoring what she's thinking/doing. Like, more like the kind of low-level ingrained bias you get from growing up in a culture with some shitty beliefs that you haven't ever had a real reason to examine than anything genuinely hateful or anything you actually REALLY believe yourself, if that makes sense.

Also lbr, it's just more interesting to me to make Kara-related issues be things like culture clash and apocalyptic levels of grief and rage that most people around her don't understand and kinda just ignore and, like, an overall frustration with other people not having the cultural context to REALLY understand what she's saying/thinking/doing, a lot of the time. Like, this is a character with a dead planet and a dead SPECIES who if things had gone to plan probably would've been "Superwoman" LONG before Clark grew up enough to even develop powers at all, much less be SuperMAN, and who SHOULD be older and more mature/experienced than all of these superpowered adults that she got dumped in the middle of who historically do NOT do all that well with surprise teenagers while also having the possibility of growing up STRONGER than Clark but simultaneously getting shit on by both the narrative and said superpowered adults, and also she's just never seemed as integrated into the hero community as, like, Dick or Babs or Kon or Tim or whoever else. Like she's just that LITTLE bit disconnected from them all, it tends to feel like to me. So there's a lot to mine there, character-wise! Like way more than just one-note clone-racism!

Anyway tl;dr: I got a lil' carried away there but I love the whole entire concept of Kara and I always wanna write her being MUCH more complicated than I usually see her getting handled. I wanna do our girl some justice!!

Ancient Egypt and Ostrich Feathers

Have a question for the Egyptologists and knowledgeable fans of Ancient Egypt about ostrich feathers.

(btw is there an Egyptologist Tumblr community? I follow @thatlittleegyptologist but don't know of any other accounts. HMU!)

When I was in Egypt last month I went to the Grand Egyptian Museum to take the very limited tour of the atrium they offer now. It... wasn't worth the money. Anywho, our tour guide did his best to make it seem valuable by talking a LOT about each thing he showed us.

Next to the colossal statue of Ramses II that dominates the atrium there's a table showing the emblems of royal iconography. The sun disk, the nemes headdress, cow horns, and a feather. He asks us if we know what that last one is and I or someone says it's the feather of Ma'at. Correct! Do we know what bird it comes from? The ostrich, someone else says. Why did they choose ostrich feathers for Ma'at and also certain crowns?

On this trip I had gone to the Nubian museum and thus had just seen several pieces of art from pre-historical peoples that utilized ostrich eggs, including a famous one that had three pyramids etched into it along with some animals. So I said something like: The ostrich has been an important animal even before the pharaohs. They relied on it for food and made art with the eggs. The tour guide (Mark) said: That's an awfully materialistic view. No, that's not why.

Now... I know I'm not an expert even though I know a lot about ancient Egypt. But "a materialistic view"? Like somehow it's not enough that ostriches provided food and probably were used in other, important ways? Why do you think Hathor is represented as a cow and there are cow horns incorporated in crowns? Because they look cool? wtf?

Mark then goes on to tell this story. Back in the dawn of civilization in Egypt the Egyptian man didn't have much to do during the day. (eyebrow raise) So he started collecting feathers from all the birds that flew above him in the sky. (...um... wait...) He would collect and then count the barbules and do you know what he discovered? Only the ostrich had the same number of them on both sides. That's why this is the feather of balance and justice.

Friends. I have never wanted to scream SHENANIGANS or at least CITE YOUR SOURCES so much in my life. Like... what?

Leaving aside the implication that ostriches were somehow flying above ancient Egyptians or that there was some point where men didn't have a dang thing to do all day but count the little hairs on feathers, I feel like this explanation is complete hooey. I mean, it could be that all or some of an ostrich's feathers have the same amount of barbules on either side of the middle bit. You might even be able to convince me that this isn't true for any other bird that someone from the Nile valley 6,000+ years ago had access to. But I'm going to need a ton of supporting evidence that this is the sole reason why the feather of Ma'at is an ostrich feather and not for the "materialistic" reasons I cited.

Also, I'm sorry, but I'm real sure predynastic Nile valley dwellers were far more concerned about food and shelter than coming up with complex reasons for using a certain kind of feather to represent a metaphysical thing.

However, I could be wrong! So I'm asking: is there evidence for Mark's version of events? Is this, you know, written somewhere in a papyrus or on a temple wall or another place? I would honestly love to read any papers on this subject, whatever the background on it.

As to the Grand Egyptian Museum, I really hope that whoever they hire to give tours when the whole thing opens are better at this than Mark. I wasn't impressed with his tour overall and eventually gave up listening to him once I saw that there was a gelato place open for business inside.

🛝: What do they do in their free time, if they have any?

A general rule of thumb is that the elite members of Spina Venatores often choose to spend their free time with each other, due to their obsessive codependency and need for companionship. Venison is the most extreme example of this!

They have no problem inserting themself into the routines of others, following them along and just lingering, or engaging in some parallel play. Venison is also entitled and confident enough to drag whoever into any shenanigans or to slack off, just for the sake of being entertained.

Ironically, despite Venison's role as the leader of Spina Venatores, they're given a lot of free time - Forget Me Not considers their clingy personality a great way to monitor others and prevent people from deserting, as well as to help Spina's members grow closer together and become much more susceptible to manipulation. It's two birds in one stone.

And even if we were to talk about their hobbies, they're also heavily influenced by either their desire for companionship or their work, because Venison is a character whose existence is defined by their relationships with others, a parasite that cannot stand on their own or be left alone. So, when it comes to their hobbies or what they would do if there's no one around to indulge them, then...

People watching and stalking - they absolutely love observing and studying others, taking note of every single reaction no matter how subtle, which helps them read others like an open book to absolute FILTH when needed. They love to know what their favorite people do when no one is looking.

They enjoy writing letters, and some arts and crafts, but even THOSE end up focusing heavily on their role within Manus/Spina lmfao. This mf has a talent for making every aspect of their life revolve around a SINGLE thing

🎉: What thing(s) in the 21st century would they really like or enjoy?

Social media, especially how easy it becomes to keep tabs on others and how difficult it is for people to get rid of their digital footprint.

This mf would be OUT THERE with the perfect daily routine to check on absolutely everyone they cherish or are obsessed with, managing a couple dozen accounts just in case. They're not a tech genius or anything, but for the sake of seeing what everyone is up to, they would definitely learn whatever is necessary to continue stalking others.

On a less intense note, I think Venison would also enjoy fandom spaces and online culture overall, given how it can both be precious moments of community and a cesspool of toxicity. I can absolutely see them building a little community for dead dove fics and being That One Guy people go to for advice when writing gore because they just happen to know a lot about how the human body works in specific conditions

🛝: What do they do in their free time, if they have any?

Mutton is a tricky one, because she insists that she has no free time at all - working on logistics and keeping everything in check takes up all of her time. But she's a desperate workaholic, using work to keep herself busy and avoid thinking too much about things she'd rather forget.

Whenever there's nothing to do, Mutton fusses over everyone else within Spina, taking on their workload and putting even more stress on herself. THAT's what she does in her free time. WORK. HARDER. Part of her does it out of genuine care, but overtime that's become just a surface justification of her controlling mindset. She's too used to filling the role of matriarch, a strong and reliable figure for those who look up to her, and instantly assumes that everyone will do a poor job, that she's the only one capable.

Despite being the complete opposite to Venison, the two get along extremely well because they follow the same pattern of behaviour - both of them need to make their entire lives revolve around something or someone that isn't themselves for whatever reason.

So her hobbies are also related to her people: Mutton is into fashion, she's a master seamstress and tailor. All these extravagant uniforms that all members of Spina Venatores wear? She made them herself by hand, even the ones that Disciples wear. Every single one. She loves to cook, and always overindulges everyone in Spinas with their favorite meals in excessive amounts. Mf is really the world's most fucked up, cynical, divorced housewife and mother of a couple dozen cultists <3

🎉: What thing(s) in the 21st century would they really like or enjoy?

The revival or renaissance era of old trends. Like, people going "we should bring back bell bottom jeans/we should start dressing again like we're in the 20's/we should go back to this and that". I think Mutton would find that endearing, silly and nostalgic, especially if they're given a modern twist - that's something she can definitely appreciate.

There's just something about people constantly yearning for things that already passed by and trying desperately to bring them back, but it's impossible to truly relive the past so what they end up getting is something brand new instead. Like electro swing <3! Yes there's a metaphor somewhere in there about being unable to let go, anyway. moving on.

Other than that, Mutton would also enjoy telenovelas and soap operas in general, or movies and shows full of drama focused on relationships - especially the ones that get EXTREMELY convoluted like Why Women Kill or The Handmaiden (2016). She'd get SO heated up about them, projecting so hard onto every character that mildly resembles her LMFAO

Chevon is a rare case within Spina Venatores, because unlike the others, he actually has fucking normal hobbies that he indulges in during his free time that don't necessarily carry copious amounts of emotional baggage.

He likes to garden and flower arrangement, specifically. Not that he's any good at it, everything he touches tends to die pretty quickly, but he still likes to do it anyway!

More than often, Chevon will be accompanied by Poultry, the only one with actual knowledge when it comes to plants and flowers, and who keeps him from destroying the whole garden where she grows her materials.

Chevon is very interested in the process of decay when it comes to flora and fauna, so while his natural lack of skill in caring for something as easy as a cactus can come in handy for that sweet, sweet plausible deniability, everyone knows better than to fall for that that. This mf is out there trying to find the perfect point between life and death, growth and decay to preserve a living body forever, similar to how Druvis III can preserve plants in a frozen state but applied to actual people

But he also likes to read, Chevon will read literally anything, just because he's so very curious about other perspectives, even if he does consider each and every one of them useless and waaaay beneath his own. Complaining and criticizing others is also one of his hobbies, so be careful when it comes to him reading your work lmfao.

Whereas Venison is the guy you go to for undying support and blind love bombing, Chevon is the guy you go to if you need to be humbled to fucking shreds because of how direct and brutally honest he is with his opinions. It SUCKS because despite him being such a little hater, he does give extremely good criticisms and observations in that soft spoken and entirely aloof demeanor of his.

🎉: What thing(s) in the 21st century would they really like or enjoy?

Chevon wouldn't be as terminally online as Venison nor Poultry, but I like to think he would be SUPER into those fucking weird ass nonsensical things that are impossible to describe to ppl who haven't experienced them online - such as Goncharov, long furby plushies that you can actually buy, whatever the fuck Garten of Banban is, Redditor Island, Alexandria's Genesis with the purple eyes

Like, he would ACTUALLY have one of those centipede furbies with spider legs. He would eat EVERY single deep dive video on the most fucked up outlandish events to ever happen online. THIS MF'S SMALL TALK WOULD CONSIST OF SHIT LIKE "hey did you hear that they can run Doom on a stomach bacteria now? yeah its 1 frame each 70 hours"

Chevon is just mesmerized by the fact that God gave everyone free will and the ability to live beyond the year 1999 and THIS is the type of shit people chose to do with their time

Poultry's hobby and passion, the one thing that consumes her entire life (as well as the entire reason she's the only fully conscious human within Manus and Spina) is to study and research arcanum through human methods, and see if it can be utilized and manipulated in ways no one has yet figured out. So her free time is spend borrowing a page from Mutton's work and studying/working even more!

She's constantly asking questions to any arcanist who passes by, following others like a lost duck, using Disciples like guinea pigs and potentially doing experiments that would put the Foundation to shame

I like to think that she was ruthless in her research, that she would often go days without sleeping or eating and push her body beyond its limits - that's how she managed to get results worthy of Manus Vindictae's recognition prior to being recruited, after all - but that, after joining Spina Venatores, she considerably calmed down!

...which is both good and bad because sure! she's getting healthier habits just by being so easily influenced by her seniors (Venison, Mutton and Chevon) and their weird habits that rub off on her all at once, but also her entire fucking life hinges on being useful to Arcana and Manus so it's a bit of a tough spot for her

🎉: What thing(s) in the 21st century would they really like or enjoy?

She would really love every single advancement in every single branch of science. Every single discovery, no matter how small, even if it's something in a field that she has absolutely no fucking clue about. There's just something so exciting in knowing that there's still so much to find out about the world and the universe, though it does tend to lean towards the excitement of being the first one to make those discoveries.

But I think that's it for now? Poultry and Veal are characters that I'm still working on, so I don't have as much to say about them as the first three! I'm still trying to figure out what she even likes about her current time and situation, lmfao

🛝: What do they do in their free time, if they have any?

Veal is a mystery to everyone, including some members of Spina and ALSO INCLUDING ME. What does this little guy do in their free time? Who knows! I don't!

Given how they're a shapeshifter and their whole lack of identity, I assume Veal spends their free time stealing someone's identity and just trying to mimic them to the best of their ability. So it's not too rare to see Chevon somewhere in his room and then find a second Chevon somewhere in the gardens.

This would also work as training and as a show of affection, since Veal believes that imitation is the highest form of adoration.

Other than that, I would say that Veal would spend their free time trying to find out ... something to do with themself, to start forming an identity beyond the whole fucking mess that is their existence as a doppelganger, but that's something that they'd do after Spina Venatores dissolves and Vertin takes them in!

Same as the previous answer, I can only theorize about what my OWN OC MIGHT LIKE OR THINK ... Hmm ...

With how little info I have about Veal right now, all I can think of is that they would unconsciously gravitate towards things that remind them of their friends and family, both within and outside of Spina Venatores. Something something, you are made up of small parts from all the people you love, etc etc.

Okay, we…we found it. We actually found it.

How does this…how does this work? I mean, it sure seems like you were here, once, given the sheer volume of radios and…other equipment that I haven’t even begun to figure out yet. I think there’s some recording stuff, which is helpful—I wonder if I can figure out a way to rig it so that it can listen to every frequency and record whenever it detects a message.

That sounds way beyond my capabilities and maybe impossible. But at the very least, I am going to spend some time testing everything out. And overall, it seems like a pretty good hideout—it’s a lot more spacious than it looks from the ground, and I bet the signal and transmission reach is amazing. There’s nothing in the way of supplies, really, but we passed a town a while back and there’s a visitor’s center a little further down the mountain from here, so I think we’ll be set for a while as long as I keep the car in good working order.

There are two beds here—did you have a friend with you once? Was it Fox? Or did you somehow supply this place for us. It’s…well, it’s covered in dust. But everything in this world is covered in dust.

But you’re…you’re not here. I’m not sure I really expected you to be, or at least, I tried not to, but I’m still disappointed. I still hoped…

You were here once though, weren’t you? This is where you…where you listened to all the other timelines? Where you communicated with whoever it is you communicate with? Where are you now? Another timeline? The right one? Or somewhere else entirely, somewhere in between?

I assume…I mean, there is a visitor’s center. I assume that this was an active fire watch tower before. I’ve taken a few photos and everything looks pretty much the same in them, and there doesn’t seem to be anyone there but…I don’t know.

Shockingly, Harry was pretty gracious about the fact that she’s been proven wrong—that you seemed to have led us to a good place, a useful place. She admitted she was wrong, something that is still all too rare. And she told me—she said she still doesn’t trust you, but she trusts me, and that’s enough.

Is that trust enough for me? Is that trust worth anything? What else is she going to do but trust me? What else could I do but trust you? Is trust less valuable when it’s forced by circumstance? Or does that just make it more honest?

Now that we’re here…what do we do? I’m glad to be safe, to be out of Fox’s view, but you promised me answers.

The idea turns my brain to mush and makes my heart swell. I like both in general. The concept of reward tickles is super flustering though, especially if the ler decided to be a bully and talk about how this was all for me and my benefit... but also I have a hard time with stuff like that. My main thing with tickling has always been I don't want it done because I want it. I want my ler/lover/play partner to want to be doing it. So I think I enjoy punishment tickles more for that reason.. knowing that whoever is doing it because that's what they wanted to default to. Knowing that I can push buttons and be silly and test boundaries, without feeling this worry or dread that I shouldn't because if it was something where I fucked up then my ler wouldn't be going to something more intimate and fun and silly. That knowledge that I'll still be wanted even after I brat off. Plus on a much less depressing note there can be extra flustering with my partner then going in with teasing on how if I wanted attention so bad I could have just asked or other forms of calling me out and shit hcmakfbsljkl. And then there's also that I just kind of naturally swear and say no or similar things during a session so that would make me feel... weird in reward tickles. Doing good so I get a reward and then I'm swearing at them? Eehhh...

100% It would be my closest friend in the community @missamyrisa2 I'd like to think we've gotten close through our multiple blogs and always rekindling when new accounts are made, as well as the other various accounts on differing sites. One of my absolute favorite writers, but overall just also an amazing person 🥰 I don't even mean a meetup with tickling either, though ya boi would not have any arguments with the knowledge we both have on each other, but just as a get-together as friends would be so nice. I’m seeing a lot of healing here. You’ve won or gaining attention for something, maybe someone who was emotionally immature and insincere. watched scott pilgrim takes off. thoughts under the cut

first off what an amazing feat this was of voice direction and communal understanding of vision from everyone involved. bringing back the cast of the movie to voice the anime was a heartfelt move but one I couldn't help but worry about a little after a long string of movie stars just not being fit for the voice booths that animation and game companies shove them into -- acting and voice acting are two very different talents! they're not mutually exclusive but I can think of a few examples where celebrities don't understand the difference or don't have enough guidance on the studio's part to understand what exactly they're giving voice to.

that isn't the case here. whoever they got as the booth director for the english dub definitely had the passion and familiarity for the role, enough that even little quirks and pauses in the animation are accounted for in the actors' delivery. In hindsight, I feel kind of stupid worrying about otherwise in the first place with how this whole project started with michael cera responding to a 9 year old email, which in itself should've prove that brain o'maileys work had long been on everyone's minds. but such a sentiment being shared in the animation and music as well really does make this feel like way more of a complete package then what you typically get from netflix. especially with how different of a concept this show is.

I don't have much to say in that regard that other people haven't already; it does characters justice, commits to everything the movie didn't, etc. I laughed a lot at the meta jokes but I also can't help but feel upset of the lack of media literacy for scott pilgrim that provoked a lot of them. I still wouldn't call scott's entire thing in this series a fully-fludged 'redemption arc' but its close within runtime confines and only ever almost fully-committed, much like scott himself, so it works -- not that I was ever looking for that. it was much more pleasing to have a story more focused on everybody else for once. always fun bechdel test your characters into not talking about your mainline protagonist. still didn't feel like everybody got the same treatment as the comics (envy, the twins -- & I'm of the opinion that kim is only marginally more fleshed out in this)

scratching my head a bit at the outcome of the last fight scene. got upset at young niel's comical struggle to write cause it hits so close to home. enjoyed wallace. enjoyed yuri. unless its a sequel doing something else with the universe I don't think we need any more scott pilgrim. as per the gif above, I just want to see fanart of knives chau being happy doing other stuff. for some reason stephen was always my favorite and he still got less screentime than the other characters but capturing his hysterical side was good enough for me.

9/10 overall. god I fucking wish future canada suburbs are just as overgrown and tech-less as they are in this anime.

chapter 9: pool

A few practice matches occurred the following day. You couldn't keep your eyes off of a certain blond, and often you'd find him also looking at you in between rallies. You assisted your team, congratulating them and giving them constructive criticism for what they could work on. They played particularly strongly against Nekoma earlier, and it was clear that the training camp was benefiting them greatly.

Kiyoko had sent you to fill the water bottles, since the boys' current game against Ubugawa was only a few points from being over. You brought the carriers out into the hallway and filled them up individually, which was an admittedly tedious and boring task. It honestly seemed to be taking much longer than it should've, the water pressure seemed a little low. After what felt like forever, and you were sure the game must've been over by now, you were done with the last bottle. You screwed the cap on and readied yourself to lift the carriers.

"Need some help?" a voice came. You turned to see one of the Shinzen players, the captain actually, if you weren't mistaken. Ogano was his name.

"No actually. But thank you" you responded. You weren't weak, and the bottles really weren't that hard to transport due to the carriers. He didn't seem to want to let it go though, determined to feel like a manly-man or something like that. As though you weren't more than capable of doing it yourself.

"Really, I insist" he said, attempting to take one of the carriers off of your arm. You attempted to keep it away from him, resulting in a struggle between the two of you. He pulled hard enough to both break the handle off of the carrier, causing half of the bottles to break open and leak onto the floor, while also pulling you forward to him and causing you to lose your balance.

Basically, you fell forward onto the now soaked ground, landing on you palms which now stung and overall getting your clothes wet. You didn't really have time to understand what had just happened. You heard the boy stuttering out apologies and further trying to help you, but you just ignored him. You tried to fight back the tears that threatened to leak from your eyes, and mostly succeeded. It's just that your knees and palms hurt now, and you were pissed.

"Get away from her" a familiar voice came from down the hall. Ogano tried to explain himself and the situation to whoever the quickly approaching person was. You thought you recognized the voice, but it was very uncharacteristic of the boy you thought it was to yell. When the figure finally got to the two of you, he shoved Ogano away and told him to leave for a second time. You looked up at your savior with teary eyes, and Kei caught your attention. He was still sweaty (and probably thirsty, considering the lack of water bottles due to this incident), looked exhausted, and even a little out of breath. But he was there for you, so you swallowed the lump in your throat and tried to ease your mind.

He then gazed down at you with a pitiful expression, like judging you for weakness. You looked away, deeply embarrassed and upset that he had seen you like this. Surprisingly, he knelt down in front of you while avoiding the water, and placed his hand on your back.

"That guys an ass. Don't even waste your time thinking about this" he bluntly stated. It made you feel better. You accepted his outstretched hand, and attempted to wipe the excess water off of you. He offered his sweat towel, which caused your face to twist in disgust despite the fact that you were the one that looked like a wet dog.

"I haven't used it yet, relax" he said. He wiped your eyes with the hand not around your shoulders. After your face was dry, he stood up.

"Thank you," you couldn't really communicate just how appreciative you were. Especially from him.

"Don't let people walk all over you" he said, holding his hand out for you to grab. You gratefully accepted it as he brought you to your feet. He never took his hand out of yours.

"I'll walk you to your room."

You smiled.

As it turned out, there was a pool at Shinzen. As a way to cool down, teams were allowed to go there after the practice matches were done for the day and before it was dinner time.

Up in the managers room, all of you were changing into your swimsuits. You complimented Yukie's (respectfully she's fine), and in return she told you how yours looked amazing on you.

After your interactions with Tsukishima, you were more than excited and hoped that he would be down in the pool as well, while hoping Ogano would skip out on it (though he was a teenage boy so you highly doubted it). You had no doubt that Kuroo and Bokuto would be there already, Akaashi was the only one you weren't too sure about. Your Karasuno boys would definitely be enjoying the pool, and likely most of the other teams might have some guys there too. The guy-to-girl ratio was of course a little questionable, but the large majority of the guys respected you all so you weren't too concerned.

When you got down there, though, it certainly was a sight to see. A majority of all the players from every team were already in the giant pool (picture this as just an indoor high school pool). Some of them were playing water polo, some were racing, and a few were wading. Some of the guys weren't even in the pool, Kenma was sitting and playing his handheld while occasionally observing the tomfoolery in the pool. Some of his teammates were trying to get him to join them, but he seemed to want no part of it.

Bokuto slammed the water polo ball down, causing Lev to jerk aside and give up a point, which in turn caused Yaku to shove his face down into the water. Kuroo burst out laughing at the torment of his underclassman. You noticed Ogano in a race with another Shinzen player and cringed. You would definitely steer clear of that side of the pool. On the other end of the pool, you made eye contact with Tsukishima, who was standing next to Yamaguchi. You gave a small smile and wave and he didn't react. You decided not to take it personally.

You set your towel down before stepping down the ladder. You decided to stay in the shallow end due to most of the deep end being taken up by the water polo game. You headed over to Yamaguchi and Tsukishima, receiving some 'ooh's' from the other managers, though Yachi decided to follow you. The two were standing on the incline between the deep and shallow end, likely because the water wouldn't even reach past their waists if they weren't. You walked over (extremely slowly) to the two.

"Hey (l/n), hi Yachi" Yamaguchi said. You smiled at him and gave a brief 'hey' in response as Yachi's face heated up and she nervously waved. You stood near to Tsukishima, who you now noticed up close didn't have his glasses on. He squinted down at you, so you moved closer to him to try and make it easier for him. He quietly complimented your swimsuit. Your heart fluttered at the attention from him. You thanked him just as quietly and turned to see the interaction between Yamaguchi and Yachi, which was just as shy as you would expect.

You watched them with a very smug look on your face, which Tsukishima noticed (because he hadn't taken his eyes off of you).

"What's up with you?" he whispered. You gave him a side eyed glance before reaching up and cupping your hands.

"She likes him. I think it could work" you whispered in his ear. He huffed out a laugh and turned to look at the two. Yachi looked incredibly embarrassed, stuttering her way through their conversation. Yamaguchi was much calmer, but there was some pink in his freckled face. He looked back down to see your goofy smirk and couldn't help but smirk at your attempt at matchmaking.

Then, Ogano splashed a little too close to you guys, and Tsukki glared in the general direction. You made a comment on how blind he was without his glasses, which made him roll his eyes at you. You playfully splashed him, before running to hide behind Yachi. She freaked out a little, but giggled when she realized what was happening. You decided to join in on their conversation, floating back over to Tsukishima as you responded to something Yamaguchi said.

Someone had come up with the absolutely amazing totally not dangerous at all idea for 'chicken battle royale', which would be everyone versus each other in the pool, with the last team standing being the winners. It was to be expected from a bunch of high school boys.

"Tch, how dumb" you heard Tsukishima mumble behind you. You could practically hear the eye roll. "Well you're gonna be my teammate so get ready for the dumb-ness" you told him. You smirked back at him and he gave you an irked expression. Your expression was basically 'sorry, not sorry' before you told him to get down so you could get on his shoulders. He pursed his lips and looked at you to see if you were actually serious before sighing and bending down slightly. You took the opportunity and jumped up onto his shoulders. He held your legs tightly, palms squeezing your thighs to balance you. Luckily, his hair was short enough and wouldn't end up obscuring his vision, and his absent glasses left no weakness for your chicken pair.

You managed to take down Noya (Tanaka wasn't the most reliable base, and you had caught him when he was staring at Kiyoko). They had been standing relatively close to you, so you made quick work of them. You directed him towards the middle of the shallow end, sticking way out of the water. You were about to get Yaku (who was on Lev's shoulders), when Lev randomly toppled over, eliminating both of them. Yaku resurfaced and immediately started reprimanding him. Unfortunately, you were backstabbed and pushed over by Kuroo, as Bokuto laughed.

Bokuto and Kuroo had won the entire thing (which wasn't surprising at all). You were still next to Tsukishima, though you started to shiver from the difference in temperature (since your top half had gotten wet when you lost).

"I'm cold" you told him. You totally didn't take your time heading over to the ladder. The two of you got out of the pool and you wrapped your towel around yourself before following Tsukishima to his towel. He quickly wiped his hair down before putting the towel on his shoulders. He then put his glasses back on and blinked a little, letting his eyes readjust. Once they did, he looked down at you just so he could take in your visage again, now that it was no longer a blur.

You didn't stay long, as you both made your way out of the loud pool room and went up to your respective rooms to change. The two of you had promised to meet back up when you were ready.

Sifting through your backpack, you found a comfortable pair of shorts and a tank top (since you had been less chilled than you were at the pool). You left your hair to air dry and headed back outside, where sure enough Tsukishima was already waiting for you. He was back in a plain white t-shirt and black sweatpants. You gave him a smile and closed the door to the managers room before you two headed down to the road.

The two of you walked for who knows how long, off into the fields behind the school. The Saitama Prefecture had beautiful, spanning fields with plenty of diverse flora. You hadn't really gotten the chance to fully explore the grounds surrounding Shinzen, so you were eager to do so now (especially with Tsukishima).

He was walking silently alongside you, staring off into the distance. You had no idea what he was thinking about, but he seemed at peace. His beautiful golden-brown eyes analyzed your surroundings, watching as the sun sank further down. When you noticed this, you realized the others were probably eating about now or at least getting close. "Should we get back for dinner?" you interrupted the calming silence. You looked over to him eagerly, since you would oblige to whatever answer he came up with. He shook his head and encouraged you to keep walking, though not before he looked down at you. His usually harsh gaze was much softer, something you'd noticed he did for you often.

When you reached the top of a hill, you had a good vantage point of both the school and the skyline. It felt like a nice place to sit down and appreciate everything. The weather was nice and the sun was setting lower in the sky, creating a beautiful pinkish-orange. Plus, your company made it even more refreshing. The two of you didn't even need quiet conversation, you could enjoy the silence and occasional sounds of the surrounding town.

You shut your eyes and laid back, breathing in the fresh air and clearing your mind. Schoolwork, manager duties, chores, and anything else didn't need to matter to you in that moment. When you opened your eyes again, you caught Kei staring at you. To your surprise, he didn't look away. You smiled and faced him, feeling your heart beat faster with the presence of his intense stare.

Feeling bold, you did something that was probably arguably extremely strange with a guy you weren't dating (and didn't have concrete evidence that he liked you). You opened your arms, clearly gesturing for a hug. Looking back, it was super embarrassing. To your shock, he stood up and then basically collapsed on you (it was with a little more care than a total collapse, but you were being dramatic). His head made its way to your chest, and you were sure he could hear your heart beating so fast it might explode.

Your hands made their way up to his hair and ran through the short locks. Without even realizing it, you were essentially giving him a head massage. You were about to apologize when he readjusted so that you could continue. The grin on your face only expanded, and you felt like you finally understood what true happiness was.

"Your heart is beating quickly" he lowly hummed, "calm down". Your entire body vibrated, and you felt chills. His voice was unsettlingly deep from not talking.

"I'm sorry" you said, for what reason you didn't know. What were you even apologizing for?

He only laughed at your pointless apology, bringing a hand up to grab one of yours and to intertwine your fingers. Scratch that, now your heart was definitely beating much faster than before and would probably annoy him, but you didn't care. It was so nice to just be in the moment that you didn't mind if he commented on it, he clearly wasn't going to get up. You tightened your grip around him and closed your eyes, smiling sweetly and filled with pure bliss.

The sun had long since set when the two of you finally stood back up. You gave him a smile and he smiled back at you, it was beautiful and bright and filled you with joy. He was warm, contrasting with the coolness of the night air around you. His arms around your waist and his chin on your head both produced featherlight sensations that turned your skin to fire. If you would die right now, you would die happy.

You couldn't help but notice how high in the sky the moon was when the two of you finally went back. Gorgeous, glowing, and full.

What is the main lesson of your story (e.g. kindness, diversity, anti-war), and why did you choose it? Honestly my themes kind of grow from the story instead of the other way around, but overall I'd say it's something along the lines of discrimination and how dangerous hate can be. (<< sounds cool, has no idea how she's going to actually write this) But I will say there's a lot of like - mini themes in it too, because each character has their own issues and needs to learn different things to grow. Stuff about communication, about self-care, about finding yourself, about courage, etc etc. Very scattered, ik.

What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding (like real-life cultures, animals, famous media, websites, etc.)? I'd say there's a lot of like?? Mythological creatures?? Y'know the classics like vampires and werewolves and selkies and what not. And then I just. Turn it all on its head. All the myths of them still exist in-universe - they're just wildly inaccurate because humans have been passing the stories down for decades. In actuality, Beasts are much more different. (Also and this is rather embarrassing to admit, but I've been stealing aHeM taking inspiration for characters from all of the media I've been watching. Which is. Mostly anime. Plus some worldbuilding details from fanfic aus I've thought up.)

What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, help readers grow as a person? Honestly? I have no idea. As of now, he's mostly trying to survive. I think the issue with Crys is that largely he's not someone who actually has a goal he wants to achieve?? The growth he experiences is not a thing he really decides he wants, but more something he needs, which the narrative basically has to drag him into. As for me... mostly I just want to write my stories and have them reach someone somewhere. It's probably the same for a lot of us who share those stories.

How many chapters is your story going to have? No idea. 40-something?? 50??? I always underestimate my end wordcount and my chapters vary wildly in length.

Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it? Original content!! I've been thinking about tweaking some stuff in Crow Wings (book 1) after I've finished first drafting Witch's Book (book 2), then I'll probably throw it up on ao3 and maybe simultaneously post it here.

When and why did you start writing? Sometime when I was a kid I think?? I'm pretty sure I was vaguely upset and bored and then I just picked up a pencil and started going at it. It was titled 'Survival' and it was basically a ripoff of I Am Number Four, littered with grammar and spelling mistakes, and all the cringefail, mary sue tropes small me could think up. I kid you not, the main character was named Emma, she had blond hair and blue eyes, and she was so good at fighting she was better at it then boys, even. Gasp!! Color me surprised!!!!! Anyway I still have it with me due to nostalgia reasons but it is hidden in my drawer under my bed where the light of day will never reach. Don't judge me, I was like nine.

How do UK bros, as individual persons, gain their societal status within the governments (i.e. getting recognized centuries ago)?

So, I think it happened similarly for all of them, and many many years ago

Starting to go their own way after initially spending most of their time together, they would have been drawn to both the largest groups of their people and also wherever the power was. Ports, markets, large community groups- they wouldn't have stayed just one place but would have moved between them all. This far back, there wasn't just one king, or one structure of power either. Different clans and different Kings ruled different parts of the island all at once, nothing at all like it is today

To each, they would have gone for a time and tried to get close

I think that when they were still very young, explored in this fic and this fic, there was more of an innate knowing amongst their people about who they were. Their mother's people, deeply tied to the land and the seasons and their gods, revered her and them, and understood without being told what their kind were. Their role and their existence gave them status. This began to wane after she died but this far back it still wouldn't have been hard for them to attract the attention and open the doors of who they wished to see. I like to imagine that, whilst most people would need to be told who they are to truly understand, overall there’s this quality to them that makes their people notice them and want to listen. Something like a particular type of charisma, or a draw. You know that they’re someone special and important, and a child with large, worldly eyes would have been taken in by the old kings even if they didn’t know who they were initially. They’d feel like they knew them, would want to know them, and would believe them when they revealed their identity.

From there, they stayed. It's easier with a monarchy, slightly explored in chapter 15 of Reset, and going from one Monarch to another made their continued, unexplained existence possible. Very rarely do they experience issues with humans not believing them (COUGH Stephen). They stay about power because they can keep an ear and eye on their nation as a whole and want to be right where the historical shifts and changes are. It makes sense for them to be close to leadership to give advice, or warnings, and to maintain a key role in the goings on of their culture.

Today then, that’s where they are. Their nature itself, whilst making them memorable, also makes them forgettable. It’s strange to be around them if you don’t know what they are, and to make sure they blend in, they’re hard to notice unless they’re explicitly pointed out. People just accept that they’re there and don’t question things too much, although certain people, more perceptive than most, may spot them (like The Cleaner)

The UK bros all have titles- minor ones so they’re not questioned too much, but enough to ensure that they're not barred from anything on purely a class basis. They have several names they like to go by every generation or so and before the invention of cameras they got by quite fine like this (A key plot theme of Reset). They’re also members of the House of Commons and their own respective parliaments and float about all of it, working with those who know them and hanging about those who don’t

They don't really have an official status written down. Some younger nations so, like Canada, but they're so old and self assured in themselves and what they are they never worry about convincing someone, or proving. They just are and they're left to it. Whoever is in power knows full well who they're dealing with, unless, for whatever reason, the brothers withhold telling them

I've had so many weird experiences of people assuming my race wasn't white or that I was mixed over the years. A lot of the benign. But not all of them.

I think about that time a guy in a MAGA cap came up to me in a crowded Farmer's Market and started mimicking Spanish after overhearing me speaking French with my partner - I guess assuming we were talking about him - and fucking punched me. Left a bruise and I was scared to go out for weeks.

I think about being followed around stores and being called racial slurs out of pickup trucks (why is it always pickup trucks).

I think about how when I got into high school I started nervous about getting too tan in summers as I'd noticed people treated me worse when I was. I think about how I'm chronically vitamin D deficient and my doctor is always telling me to get more sun. I'm thinking about how even this summer I saw that familiar shift in people's behavior as I got darker.

But mostly I think about how I wish I at least knew why I look different.

All I know is I'm pretty sure someone in my family is lying about something.

I've been told for a long time that we're pretty much just German though the most recent immigrant in the family tree was Welsh. My dad took a DNA test and apparently it came back as him having a not insubstantial amount of North African (possibly Italian I wonder?) markers. But I haven't been able to figure out where that might have come from in the official family tree.

Some indigenous markers too but I've given up looking for that. Whoever covered their tracks there did a great job. Whether they meant to or not I'll never know.

Maybe this sound ridiculous but it reminds me of how even if I'm not actively trying to present male, I'll get dirty looks and called slurs and harassed because my facial features aren't feminine enough to a lot of people. Hell even when I wear make up, I've been accused of being a trans woman.

But I kind of know why that is - I naturally run a fair bit higher testosterone than most folks with ovaries and have been at points testosterone dominant. Had a bit of a delayed puberty and all that. My features developed to be kind of in the middle. I like them personally, regardless of other people's reactions.

But it's uncomfortable to feel like I'm missing some key part of my family history, to not know why so many people seem to clock me as something that too my knowledge I'm not. Like I'm experiencing some of the impacts of racism (though they're substantially less given the overall privilege my family has) without like having a connection to a community of people who also get it. It'd be nice to be able to find other white folks who've had those experiences because I super do not think it's appropriate to share mine when folks of colors connect with each other over theirs.

Voting with youre wallet works for consumables and corporations like food, wear, entertainment, fuel, anything where there is supply and demand for the most part

if you take away demand, then they wont supply because supply costs money and thats the only reason why supply is there, because people buy it

When I decided not to vote for Biden it was hard because last time it was about stopping Trump. Trump was the biggest threat, to us and everyone else.

But now seeing Biden, though he has done maybe a few good things to taste, overall he has done nothing plus some.

He has not only done nothing, but rolled back, failed to stop things from happening and above all else is aiding in a genocide

When i was mulling over how to deal with voting in this election, thinking about how bad trump is and still working off the 'best of 2 evils' in my mind, i finally remembered something that i think a lot of people have said in some way or another:

If i were back when the Holocaust was happening, I wouldnt have been a nazi. I would have done something. I would have helped and i would have fought. I wouldnt buy into the propaganda. I wouldnt stand by such an injustice. I believe i would sacrifice something, even myself if it meant not participating in genocide.

I have said something along the lines of that throughout my years when the subject comes up, showing my disgust and the unfathomable stance of being a fascist or even being someone who just stands by and lets that shit happen.

I, and a lot of us like to believe that in that situation regardless of how it affects us, that we would do the right thing

and i realized i literally have that opportunity right now, to do what i said id do in that scenario.

Now obviously im not going to sacrifice myself, no one is asking that. You dont need to suffer in solidarity.

And I also am in a privileged situation where I am able to make the decisions im making, in boycotting certain places and not voting for biden

But i still can be affected by trump being in office again. my family can. my friends can.

But i cant vote for someone just for self preservation, that which includes those i know and love, simply because its me.

What would it take, otherwise, for me to not vote for biden or trump but third party?

where is the line drawn worse than a genocide? at what point is it so bad that one stops voting for the one that might do a little good, rather than focus on the actual foundation of our cities and states and country like voting locally, getting involved, focus on community etc.

I KNOW its going to be bad if trump wins but its going to be bad if biden wins. Even if its only bad for Palestine, a genocide, an eradication of a whole culture and history and families and generations is enough for me to stick it out

Again its easy for me to say in my privileged positions, i am not going to be affected by trump compared to biden as much as someone else. But it is still easy for every single one of us to vote for whoever, because we are not in a current genocide.

Trumps slogan could be "Round up the Queers and Shoot Them All" and I would still vote third party. Not because 3rd will win because i know it wont

Because i will do what i can to fight what that slogn proposes and emboldens.

I will show people at least that third party, every election, is worth supporting.

If voting for the lesser of 2 evils does next to nothing regardless of who you choose, then you build up and strengthen everything under it and around it

This is my take, and i want people to think about it themselves. Because you can vote for biden, and regardless of how i feel its your choice. This year it really is just about choice bc there is no voting in a better evil bc that doesnt exist.

there is no answer right now in that regard. the only answer is to prepare right at this moment to be active where you can

many of us are disabled and cant do hardly anything. but the people who know you, you have a lot of power when it comes to them.

Just voicing my opinion is going to influence someone who follows me or who knows me to change their mind.

But thats not my goal with this, its to help people look past the phrases and slogans and look into what will work. And that is local elections, being active in community run programs and getting involved in anything politics.

Not voting isn’t the same as a boycott. Because you can’t bankrupt a government by not voting. All you get by not voting is less control over what the money is doing.

The money comes from taxes, not voting. Abstaining from voting does nothing to reduce the governments ability to get money and spend it on shit.

So yes, sometimes you vote to reduce harm because not voting WILL NOT REDUCE HARM.

They are all aliens, but currently living on Earth (and really bad at disguises as you might have noticed). They are very much intelligent and they know exactly what they’re doing

Muffin is not the strongest out of them but he is the most aggressive and dangerous to humans. He has no desire to verbally communicate with humans so he makes no effort in learning any language or human society norms (not like he would obey any rules anyway). He's chilling and don’t want to be disturbed. Will not hesitate to harm whoever gets too close to him. But he might approach people himself if he feels like it (which is rare but happens). Tolerates chubby/fat people more, but only because they’re soft to lay on.

Muffin is surprisingly cuddly, it’s the safest to approach him when he is sleepy and in search of good place to hit a hay. He might even let you lay beside him, but he surely will have a death grip on you and it’ll be over the moment you wake him up by moving. Don’t touch him, he will  touch you if he want’s to; don’t  look at him too long he’ll get annoyed and you’ll be injured.

Overall the biggest asshole out of them.

Jelly. Not as aggressive as Muffin, on contrary very approachable and actively seeks attention from humans. But not completely trustworthy either. Jelly is very curious about everything that has to do anything with humans. He’s especially curious about languages and tries to learn as much as possible, which leads to rather annoying habit of trying to repeat everything he hears.

Now why is Jelly is not trustworthy. Jelly’s way of “exploration” works by rule “What you do to me - I can do to you”, any action towards Jelly he takes as a permission to do something he thinks is equal to your action. His curiosity has no limits, knowing that humans can be curious about him aswell, he actively tries to coarse people to push further and, for example, make them harm him, so Jelly would have “permission” to do the “same” thing. You see, considering the strength and durability of Jelly, you can’t actually hurt him, he would even allow you to stab him, but doing so you give him permission to gut you one day, when he gets curious about what’s inside you. He also is not above kidnapping if he finds the person interesting enough. If Jelly doesn’t like you - he will ignore you, until you bug him enough to harm you.

Overall he is safe, but you have to be careful about what you do around him, because you can’t really tell what Jelly sees is “equal” to your actions.

Honey is a shapeshifter. If Muffin’s resemblance of a cat is purely accidental - Honey choose to change her appearance this way because she noticed human’s positive attitude towards dogs and assumed she would look less intimidating and more friendly that way. It didn’t work, but she tries. Her original form is much bigger and looks more like Sugar’s.

She doesn’t seek human’s attention, but she also is not the one to harm them. She’s mostly chill and approachable, she’s friendly enough to indulge in possible curiosity of the humans but she does have her boundaries and won’t let you do anything like Jelly. Has an actual human friend

Hates Muffin to guts, and is actually stronger than him, but Muffin has his ways of escaping the deserved ass whooping.

Sugar is precious and have to be protected. But if being serous, while being the strongest, Sugar is a pacifist and actually a vegetarian, so he has no interest in your giblets

Sugar is not the brightest one, but he’s good natured and can be easily befriended by giving him a good big amount of vegetables, he especially likes cabbages, tomatoes and carrots. Very careful with any small things, but he panics in small spaces and does the exact opposite of being careful, freaking out and tripping over everything. Doesn’t like the other three, but tolerates Honey.

You literally cannot physically hurt him, it will take an anti tank rifle to do him some actual harm, so being almost invincible he has no fear or caution over who is approaching him and with what intentions. Try to stab him - he’ll look at you confused trying to figure out why you’re poking him all of a sudden but won’t assume that you were trying to harm him. His skin is a bit cold, but he will definitely let you sleep hidden in his tentacles if you ask for it. 

Overall Is the safest to hang around
