Enjoying the little things

Today I was feeding and watering my birds, I've made a habit of just sitting with them while their baths fill and it's come to be a highlight of my day. I would have taken some pictures today but I've decided that when I'm outside, digital devices stay inside, with the exception of when I'm deliberately taking photos or I'm on a run and listening to music, I find instead of becoming districted by trying to take cute pictures of my animals or reply to a text or checking countless notifications I actually sit back and enjoy my surroundings. Today I watched my ducks play in their baths and play tag, my goose keeping an eye on everybody making sure the chickens be nice to his ducks, my baby turkeys chasing flys at my feet, thirsty honey bees resting on feathers in the baths having a much needed drink, a muma hen keeping a close eye on her babies as they frolicked. Sometimes we forget how good life is and how it's the little things that are often the most wonderful, I hope you all take a moment in your busy lives to sit back and enjoy the little things.
