when i was like 6 or something i got hit in the head with a catapult (long story) and had to get stitches and when it was time to take those stitches out we go to our family doctor and i'm very nervous bc i'm 6 and our doctor goes

"well, haven't you heard of the stitch fairy?"

obviously i say no

"she's just like the tooth fairy, but for stitches! you can take these home and put them under your pillow and you'll get a dollar!"

wow mom can you believe it!

so i took the stitches home and stuck them under my pillow and when i woke up in the morning i had a dollar

sharing a recipe because around here it's gift-your-neighbors-the-overabundance-of-forearm-sized-zucchini season (apologies I'm American so imperial measurements listed). The zucchini makes for incredibly moist bread slices that are delicious for a treat or breakfast because you're an adult and you can. Chocolate Zucchini Bread 2 1/2 c flour (all purpose) 1/2 c cocoa powder 2 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1 1/2 sticks of butter (softened) 2 c granulated sugar 3 whole eggs 2 tsp vanilla (watching you tumblr, TEASPOONS) 2 c grated zucchini (you want it finely grated but if its a little thicker thats fine too. work around your texture preferences) 1/2 c milk (we've always used 2% unsure how others would alter it) 1 c chopped nuts (completely optional, some people add chocolate chips but I skip this part) 3 bowls 2 loaf pans

Sift together dry ingredients in first bowl. In a separate bowl (you want a big bowl, this is your final bowl), cream butter and sugar together until fluffy. In a separate bowl, mix eggs, vanilla, zucchini, milk, and nuts. Alternate the wet and dry ingredients with your creamed mixture (in your final bowl, that's why we want big for room). Spread batter into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until it passes the toothpick test. If you don't know what that is, gently stab a clean toothpick in the middle of your loaf and if it comes out goopy still, bake longer. Clean, you're good. Slice it while semi warm and eat the fruits of your labor. I like smearing it with a bit of butter myself for maximum goodness. You can also freeze these if you end up with a lot of zucchini thanks to that mystery veggie fairy. Obviously you could shake it up and pour it into muffin tins and alter the baking time, play with it and find out your favorite.
