So about five weeks out from opening we had our OG Grantaire experience some Life Stuff that meant they were unable to continue in a role with solos (we kept them on as Mabeuf!) and, seeing as we had already cast everyone else comfortable singing by themself between our dual cast leads, it didn't take too much convincing for me to jump into my favourite character's role.

Grantaire is no where near my range, and I stress-sang this solo about 30 times each night before curtains up, but it's mine and I'm so fond, and I did not at all realise how visible the talk with Enjolras up the back of the stage was but that hair-flip makes me cackle and one day I WILL animate it.

Shout out to this scene being responsible for my mom asking me - after we watched this footage for the first time with the cast - exactly what the relationship between Grantaire and Enjolras was. Such a great conversation that didn't at all have me praying for a localised asteroid touch down.

Ah, it’s the beloved Butler’s birthday today. You gazed at him from your side of the bed, enjoying the look of tranquility that only sleep could bring him. Your hand reached out to rest on his soft cheek, nuzzling your face closer to his. A soft smile spread on his lips, and his arms wrapped around your torso.

“Good morning, hun~” You whispered before he could say anything, enjoying the slight heat radiating from his face.

He hummed and kissed down your neck in an affectionate manner, a routine he’s caught on to whenever you sleep together. “Birthdays don’t mean much to a demon like me, but thank you, my love. I appreciate it nonetheless.”

Mornings like these were always sweet, and calming. A rejuvenating way to start the day, like any other day, full of chaos. You made sure no one would disturb Barbatos and you during his birthday. Though you had to compromise with a birthday celebration at night because Diavolo wanted to have a proper celebration; it’s going to be a small party full of close friends and happiness, just the way Barbatos likes it. Your hands buttoned up his shirt for him while you two talked about anything and everything. You didn’t miss the light in his eyes when he mentioned wanting to try out a specific rare tea, nor did you miss the lovesick look he gives you.

Once you two are ready, you hold his hand and leas him out of the Demon Lord’s Castle. “I know the perfect place to have breakfast at!”

“Oh darling, you love leaving me in suspense, don’t you?” He chuckled, his voice soft like velvet and jovial. Every step he took felt lighter than usual. Barbatos never cared for birthdays, finding them frivolous and boring. It was just another day in his immortal life, nothing special to celebrate another year of living when he himself has forgotten how long he’s lived for. Everyone else seemed to love to make it a huge thing; in a way it’s endearing, but the preparations and planning is just another chore in an already busy day.

But with you, my how you’ve changed him. With all tour little hints about how you’re going to make this day extra special has made him oddly excited. A tiny human, barely has lived a fifth of his life, has managed to cabe into his heart and create a cosy nest in there. Barbatos wouldn’t say he was the coldest person, but he knows it isn’t easy to get close to him. Yet how you’ve managed to wrap him around your pinkie is almost admirable.

Barbatos squeezed your hand gently, and pulled you closer to his side. His hand slipped around your waist and smiled. “If at anytime you feel uncomfortable, do tell me.”

You just smiled and leaned closer while walking down the eccentric streets of Devildom. There were all sorts of activities you planned. First, the cat cafe; next, a stroll through the park while eating some steamed cream buns; then, to the museum!

And yet, here you two were, taking refuge in an arts and crafts store from the acid rain.

“I’m so sorry Barbatos, I- I should have checked the weather..”

“No, no, it wasn’t your fault. If I had been in my right senses, I’d have known earlier.” He tried to reassure you, but your frown only deepened.

You sighed, for what felt like the hundredth time, rubbing your hands together as you looked around. Your gaze laid on some beads, and now you knew how to save this ruined birthday date! “So.. there’s this trend going on in Devilgram, would you like to join it?” You slowly turned to look at him, the once brooding, dark look from the ruined day being cleansed by the excitement in your expression.

“All I need is you, for my birthday.” He held your hand and kissed it, enjoying the blooms of red roses on your cheeks.

Pleasant moss colored green and almost lime green beads lines the bracelet with the enchanting colors of your eyes. It wasn’t much, but to Barbatos whose love language is gift giving and quality time, it was almost like the Celestial Realm. He had the most softest gaze, and the sweetest smile as he watched you carefully slip the beads in the thread. The perks of being as efficient as he was, he could spend the rest of the time gazing at you.

“My dear?”

“Hm?” Your eyes never left the thread as you tied it.

“Thank you.”

You paused, and looked up with the brightest smile. “This wasn’t what I had in mind, but I’m glad you’re enjoying it.”

A moment of silence as you slipped the beaded bracelet on, the sound of the beads clashing and the patient smile of your partner’s distracting you both from the rain’s abrupt stop.

“For many more years to come, I hope I’ll be there for all your birthdays.” Wishful thinking, but no need to ruin the mood with depressing thoughts. “I’ll never ever let go of you Barbatos. I hope you know how special you are to me.”

You held the hand Barbatos was wearing the bracelet on with yours, and locked eyes with him as you kissed his palm, his fingers following.

“One of the human traditions is to kiss their partner the number of times as their age on their birthday. It’s going to take a long time, shall we go home before the party starts so I can get a head-start?”

Barbatos is a powerful demon, able to control time, and easily win any battles. But with you, he’s reduced to nothing but a lovesick demon ready to go to war with al three realms for you. Birthday’s weren’t all that special to him, but you were, and that’s all that matters to the beloved butler.

Last week i saw Les Miserables (the Arena Tour) for the first time in my life, so here's my thoughts about it (actually it's just me praising every performer of this production, but they deserve it) (oh and also, sorry for my bad english, it's not my first language).

Okay. First of all: Jean Valjean. I didn't get to see Killian Donnelly as Jean Valjean and I'm a little bit sad about it because I really hoped to see him once in my life (especially as Jean Valjean) BUT MY GOD DANIEL KOEK THE MAN THAT YOU ARE. THE TALENT. HE HAS A FLAWLESS VOCAL TECHNIQUE. I actually feel so lucky to have witnessed his talent. I encourage you to go on youtube and listen to him singing who am i or bring him home or anything, you won't be disappointed. 

Javert. My beloved Bradley Jaden. I couldn't be happier to have finally seen and heard him live, his voice and his acting are out of this world. I love his Javert with all my heart, he is so stiff at the beginning but as the story goes on he becomes so feral, almost animalistic. I love him. Again, go listen to his version of stars, it’s incredible. And the suicide soliloquy!! MY GOD!! i can't even describe it, he is so angry and desperate, so feral. Oh Bradley Jaden, the things you do to me.

Channah Ewitt as Fantine is fenomenal. So delicate but also so powerful in her vocals and her acting. Finally hearing I dreamed a dream live has been such an emotion for me and i'm so happy Channah has been "my first" Fantine live.

Cosette. Beatrice Penny-Tourè. My God. Like a month ago I saw a video of her singing a heart full of love from one of the very first shows they did and I fell in love with her voice (and I listened like 30 seconds of her singing), so you can imagine that I was so excited to listen to her live. But nothing could prepare me for the transcendent experience that is listening to her live: she makes every note seem effortless and the way she embodies Cosette is incredible. She is exactly how I imagine Cosette.

Jac Yarrow is a fantastic Marius, so in love, so cute, so sweet. His voice is so beautiful. Obv he made me cry during Empty chairs at empty tables.

Nathania Ong as Eponine in something out of this world. I'm still in awe of her performance. She reminded me again why Eponine has always been one of my favourite characters. Her On my own is powerful and emotional, and of course she made me cry like a child during A little fall of rain.

The Thenardiers are SO FUNNY. Even though the concert version doesn't let them move as much as they do on the "staged" production, they made the scene look so dynamic  that at some point I felt like I was dancing and cheering on stage with them.

As it happened with Killian as Valjean, I unfortunately didn't get to see James D. Gish as Enjolras. I heard him sing the part in some videos and i really wanted to listen him live (his voice is so powerful i'm sure it will resonate in my bones ahah), BUT AGAIN WHAT A PRIVILEGE IT WAS TO LISTEN AND SEE ANDREW MAXWELL AS ENJOLRAS. His voice is so beautiful and he embodied Enj so well I'm afraid I fell in love. Also his voice is more similar to how I imagine Enjolras’ voice would be like so again I couldn't be happier to have witnessed his talent. (also, in the les mis website it says that this is his professional debut so again CHEERS TO THE FENOMENAL SCOTTISH KING THAT ANDREW MAXWELL IS!!!)

What can I say about Raymond Walsh as Grantaire? He is perfect for the role. He made me laugh in ABC cafè and he made me cry in Drink With me. I feel so lucky to have finally seen him perform in this role live.

My endless love for Enjoltaire made me follow them during their scenes. During ABC cafè they bicker a lot (I giggled a lot). In drink with me Grantaire sings his entire part towards the audience and Enjolras tries to stop him but someone stop him before he can reach Grantaire. R doesn't look at E, if not for a brief moment, and when he finish his last line he just starts walking to his spot but Gavroche stops him with a hug (Granaire and Gavroche dynamic is so dear to me and i'm so happy that it is maintained in this production). Then they go sitting and Enjolras follows them and OH MY GOD while Enjolras starts to step on the stairs he stops and looks at Grantaire for a very long moment, while Grantaire looks in front of himself. It felt like Enjolras wanted to say something to Graintaire but then he changed his mind and went to sit on his spot (my heart was bleeding for them, I love these two so much) (maybe I will draw this exact moment so you can understand better).

Then let's praise the backbone of the show, THE ENSEMBLE. Fenomenal, outstanding performers. Sometimes I would get too much caught in their background scenes that I would lose track of the main scene. One thing that made me emotional is that the performers how plays the barricade boys don't have the time to go change their costumes after their death (they actually stay on stage all the time), so during the Marius and Cosette's wedding you can see the barricade boys singing and cheering for Marius on the background (i cried a lot). They also do a little silly dance when the Thenardiers do their part (I giggled a lot).

One last thing (I promise), let's make a round of applause for the lighting and sets designers (and all those who work in the technical department), they did an amazing job. A huge part of the scenography is made by the lighting trusses that move up and down and for me this is such a clever and brilliant idea (like "the scenography on the floor can't be moved or changed? Let's create something IN THE AIR!"). Oh, and also a round of applause for the orchestra, 25 musicians who sound like 60, so much love and respect for them.

Bravo to everyone!!

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

I mean really where to begin, I could go with anything, but I'm going to highlight something I think doesn't get enough attention in fandom: I like that he's cool. Hawkeye is the big man on campus. He's popular. Guys like him, Radar looks up to him as a male role model (bad idea but also maybe good idea), women adore him, the man gets laid all the time. He's very good at his job, so he's respected professionally, but he's also well-liked. He's well-liked because he's funny, hot, friendly, and usually nice. He's also kind, but he's nice to people, too, unless he feels they've earned derision (e.g. they support the army). Hawkeye is a chad! He's also very anti-establishment. I've called him a jock before but I think he's more of a greaser. A hero to the students, despised by the principal (beloved by the cool teacher, Henry). This is a really important part of the show. If Hawkeye were an underdog outsider it wouldn't have the same impact that he hates the army so much. MASH uses his strong social position to communicate the morality of the show, which is topsy-turvy by conventional standards. He loves sex, booze, and gambling, he breaks rules and flouts authority, but he's morally right because he knows war is wrong. And through loving Hawkeye, maybe we start to think about whether sex, booze, and gambling are really so bad, whether rules shouldn't be broken sometimes, whether authority shouldn't be questioned. I like that he's the popular kid.

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

This one is really hard because even the bad things make him a better character to me... I genuinely don't even mind that he's kind of sexist, like, I'd be surprised if he wasn't. I guess my least favorite thing is some of the attempts at character development... I don't mind Hawkeye being less interested in casual sex (for him as a character, I actually do kind of mind the show going that direction in the conservative 80s because nothing exists in a vacuum) but the way it's handled in Who Knew totally sucks. He says he always made sure the women he slept with knew he'd be gone if they wanted a more serious relationship... that's what you're supposed to do! That's being honest! It's okay to only want casual sex and the way it's framed suggests it's not! But I think if they'd gone the other way, and had Hawkeye actually take advantage of women by implying he was open to something more serious than he really was (as is implied early on, although there's often subtext that the nurses are just in it for fun too which softens it a lot) it would come off too gross and make him too unlikable.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

9. Could you be roommates with this character?

Yes, but if we had a third roommate that person would kill us both. Our place would be disgusting, but neither one of us would get mad at the other about it because we'd both be equally responsible. We'd be complete disasters but I think we'd have fun.

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks....

This is a difficult one! I've loved a LOT of characters over the years even if the current blorbo of interest is NHS from MDZS/CQL bc he's just such a fun little guy BUT lets see if I can try to do this chronologically and not in like, any character ranking fashion:

1 & 2: these two characters are absolutely the rulers of my heart: Huang Rong and her father, Huang Yaoshi from Legend of the Condor Heroes by Jin Yong. I just love my beloved spoiled conwoman princess and her insane evil wuxia version Maes Hughes dad so much. I could write so many essays about the Huangs and how they mean so much to each other and also to me. I'm always insane about family members who have complex relationships with each other and that's super evident with them.

3. Uchiha Madara from Naruto. Now, people who have known me for a long time know that I am a Naruto girlie, and that I skipped all the way to "Sasuke's Insane and Sad Pathetic Ancestor" on the character likes list. I love insane murder men and Madara is an insane murder man! He's also very sad. What's there not to like about him truly.

4. Mirasol from Chalice by Robin McKinley. I have a deep love for beauty and the beast narratives and this one ALSO had magic bees. I love Mirasol for her kindness and her devotion even in the wake of massive change and I have a special fondness for the entire story of Chalice both for the lovely worldbuilding and also Mirasol herself.

5&6. Sansa Stark and Cersei Lannister from A Song of Ice and Fire. I really really love both of these characters for entirely opposing but also really similar reasons! I love them for their flaws. For being stuck in their positions in a world that's really just! not! kind to them! and how they take that and go in such different directions.

7. Sheng Rulan from The Story of Minglan. I have such a soft spot for Rulan. She's petty, she's spoiled, she has so much love and holds onto her principles and her dreams so tightly, she's her father's least favorite child despite also being a legitimate daughter, she finds love, she's so cute, she's the clearest sighted of all four of the Sheng sisters, she's got such a growth arc to her, I love her SO SO MUCH. (I love all three of her sisters too don't get me wrong, Rulan is just my favorite.)

8. Wei Yingluo from The Story of Yanxi Palace. Yingluo! My girl! Never have I ever seen a female lead with so much pent up rage and desire to get even in a story that does not judge her for her hard edges and her propensity for violence. I love that about her. I love how kindness and cruelty and how her quest for vengeance never destroys her ability to love and care for others and recognize other people's genuine kindness and the difficulties other people face in life. I love her shrewdness and her determination to survive too! I'm just! So fond of her!

9. Jaskier from The Witcher (TV). I RARELY TALK ABOUT. MY UNAGING BARD BLORBO. BUT I LOVE HIM. I love the messy relationship Jaskier, Geralt and Yennefer have in the Witcher TV show and I REALLY love the way that Jaskier is portrayed. I don't know anything about the games but! I just! I love! This annoying kind of foppish man because annoying foppish male characters are another beloved character archetype for me, see below.

10. Nie Huaisang from The Untamed/Modao Zushi. Beloved Blorbo. Little crimes man. Unfilial and spoiled. Beloved for being SO jiggly and full of trauma and his tragedy is writ large to me because it! powers! the plot! without his tragedy there is no plot! he burns down his social circle because he loves his brother! There's just so much in here that's like, oh god. I love that he's an annoying foppish dandy and that he loves his pets and creature comforts and that he doesn't enjoy working hard and has so many problems. This too is life. I love this little guy I want to rotate him for a good long time.

Hmmm, okay, well definitely Jesus. He's really cool, and there's just so much to thank Him for, lol, but ya'll probs don't want to read a freaking book, so let's move on to the second one 😂

Writing (usually, lol) makes me happy. I love to develop characters and watch them try to find their way through the plot, and then give them a happy ending! (unlike some evil authors/movie directors I know)

Friends, family, and acquaintances of course. Ya'll make me so happy, life would be lonely without ya 😊

My beloved flute Xylia, (and the flute which I rented, but had to give back sadly). Music in general makes me happy, but making it with other people is even better. And being with the Kids In Band (not Band Kids, that's offensive to them XD) is always fun, no matter what you're doing.

Reading books/watching movies and obsessing over them is probably my second favorite hobby! The fandom life is mostly pain, but for that small part of it that's enjoyable, it's totally worth it.

It's about time I did a post like this. Hi, I'm Charlie, known to my close friends as Charles or Ferre, and I love writing.

I'm a polytechnic student, and am currently studying for my diploma in Story and Content Creation (for media). I am a huge theatre fan, mainly Les Miserables, and I kinda go batshit crazy over Star Wars at times.

Alright, with all the introductions out of the way, I've been thinking about being more active on Tumblr so I'll be opening writing requests to anyone who may be interested. I mainly write Star Wars and Les Mis, you may check me out at archiveofourown.org/users/CharlesAndCo for the works I have published. (I implore you to ignore my Marvel fics...) But before everything, I do have several boundaries when it comes to writing for requests, so please, I hope you'll respect them if you're thinking of requesting for any fics.

I will absolutely not write /reader fics, even gender neutral readers or male readers.

The ships I specialise in are as follows: for Les Mis, Valvert, Enjoltaire, Courfius, Combeferre/Jehan; for Star Wars: Obikin, QuiObi, Anidala. I would not be opposed to exploring other ships, but I will put my foot down if it comes to any ship I am uncomfortable with, which does not happen often but if it does, consider this a warning.

If I have any ongoing WIPs when you request, especially oneshots that are meant to be gifts to my friends, I will not prioritise your request over the works for them. I love my friends to hell and back, the only way to get around this would be to become my friend, I guess.

NSFW is... well, it depends. I may or may not write NSFW depending on how I feel about it. To put it simply, I have had bad experience when it comes to sex, and so sometimes certain things do trigger me and bring back bad memories. So unless you really think that I would enjoy writing the NSFW request you send in, I'd appreciate it if you mainly stick to SFW works. Thanks :)

Warm Blood lives in my head and my heart. The "Comprehensive Guide to Topping Kenny Omega" is just beautiful. My girlfriend and I have said for YEARS that people should come with sexual CVs and it was beyond beautiful to see something similar written here.

I also love that it's a switch awakening, and they do rarely get written in fic. It's just beautiful.

For FFAU - I love the way you write the fae nature of the Bucks. The fact that they are, as Pratchett would say, terrific - they beget terror. The air of menace and "not right" is beautiful. I get very annoyed when fae are written as benevolent or kind - they aren't. They operate in a way we don't comprehend, and I love that you have them being so unsettling.

And now for the ratings. There were some really good ones and some I genuinely Did Not enjoy listening to. Oof.

2011 Madrid: I LOVE how all-out they went with the orchestra for this one. But then again, this whole album slaps, so I'd have been surprised if this one'd been on the low end of the ranking. 9/10

1991 Paris: THE CRESCENDO BEFORE ENJ'S PART !!! Really well done. However, the "all together" part... It's not the best, especially the weird fuckery they do with the volume at the end, and since that's THE part of the song, I'll deduct a point for that. 7/10

French Concept: Yes I'm counting this despite it being a slightly different version, especially ending-wise. Still, I really love it and because of that I'm adding it to the ranking. 8/10

2020 Live: Just a great version. The all-together part is understandable, yet A Lot like it should be. 9/10

2008 Dutch: I just think the voices fit SO well in this version, but I might be biased. I don't really care though. 9/10

2010 Live: This Marius, this Enjolras, this Javert... I'm sorry, 2010 really isn't the recording for me. The parts where everyone is singing are decent though. 5.5/10

1998 Flemish: Thanks, I hate it. I like the usage of the drums though. 1.5/10

Symphonic Recording: Only slightly better than the Flemish one, but as you might know from previous rankings I don't like this recording At All so it's not really a surprise. 3/10

10th Anniversary: Not my favourite, but definitely an okay recording that I like listening to. Philip my beloved. 6.5/10

2012 Movie: The pain of just wanting to listen to One Day More and then having that last part of On My Own on the recording. Other than that, controversial opinion, I really like this version. The all-together part is really well done imo. Maybe it's nostalgia. 8/10

1985 London: Has the OG ever landed high up in the ranking? No. And it won't now either. The all together part is decent though. 4/10

1989 Vienna: I LOVE GERMAN THÉNARDIERS !! Just a decent version, could've been better if it'd had more power. 6/10

French Concert: I kinda like this version, but something seems... Off? I don't really know what, though. 6/10

I'm putting this under a readmore bc another of the players follows me here and they don't have this information yet, buuutttttt…..

YEAH, she absolutely got her ass turned into a vampire lmao. And there's SO MUCH symbolism and narrative themes and implications and character growth!!!!!!!

This is the fancy explanation of where we're at rn, basically she split off from the entire rest of the party in the middle of the night and tried to save a sailor who was getting attacked, but ended up getting bitten herself. When she started to turn, instead of drinking the blood of the vampire that bit her, the captain of the ship came in and fed her instead, becoming her sire. So now she belongs to the Fallenswallow bloodline (wealthy duchess who is scary nice to us and also is scary good at scrying/divining/Knowing things) instead of the Vander bloodline (guys who are Just The Worst).

Since the last session just ended with Nico on bedrest, the rest of the party doesn't know yet whether or not she'll turn, and they definitely don't know about what the Captain did :3 so it'll be fun to watch that information slip out.

Also fun fact becoming a vampire in pathfinder makes you CRAZY strong, like, at level 5 nico now has 22 strength and a +24 bonus to sense motive (insight). And sure she can't see herself in the mirror, but like, that's probably fine. Our lovely gm even said that the garlic thing doesn't apply so my beloved italian girl is spared. HOWEVER, the amount of shame and self-loathing and fear that comes along with becoming the thing she hates and needing to feed on the blood of the living? THAT'S what I'm talking about, baybee. WAIT i don't think i've ever actually said what her class is on here? she's an Inquisitor, a really cool pathfinder class that's like a combination of a paladin and a rogue. She's got a lot of fun social abilities, divine spells, and funky combat abilities :3

In terms of ~narrative themes~, the major thing nico's been dealing with is seeing vampires as people and judging them based on their actions rather than what they are - she's had a major stick up her ass and a lot of preconceived notions about what makes a monster. One of the party's favorite NPCs, Atkin, was also unwillingly turned into a vampire and nico had been starting to learn and grow through him - but he got kidnapped a bit ago so who knows when we'll actually get to see him again. (Atkin also knows how to cure vampirism, and when I mentioned this to the GM they got the most fantastically evil look on their face so im VERY excited to see where that goes as well)

Sadly people weren't able to make it to an actual session yesterday so now i have to wait until next tuesday to see how all this plays out 😭but i am constantly rotating her in my mind and i really hope this was helpful (or at the very least entertaining)! i can never remember what i have or haven't shared on here lmao
