I'm literally so honoured and overjoyed, I can't even find words!! This incredible care package came from the immensely talented and kind @ninjaofdeath16 who made this cushion of Kitty and Sid by hand?? What??? Every process pic they sent me injected so much brightness into my days, and now I actually have it in my studio!!!! It lives in Rodger's lap now ^_^

forever thinking about royal’s bad ending. my thing with it is that maruki doesn’t necessarily give anyone what they want most, he gives them what’s most appropriate for them to want within a maruki-approved framework. iirc there’s a really interesting text sequence in the game where he just straight up changes someone’s career because they’re not “good” at it, regardless of whether that’s what they actually want. why struggle at all? ever? right?

and so ultimately i don’t think goro akechi’s greatest wish is necessarily ren. i think it’s a wish for sure, but his greatest wish is his own agency. despite any regrets he has and the fact that shido and yaldabaoth treated him like a pawn, he's generally pretty adamant about owning his choices and their consequences. he doesn't want that erased. and instead, you end up with pleasant boy™ if you take maruki’s deal. maybe maruki (incorrectly) thinks sanding off all of akechi’s rough edges will make him easier for ren to love. but the crux of it is really that maruki has to essentially lobotomize him to preserve the illusion of his perfect reality, because their ideologies are so diametrically opposed that akechi would spend every waking moment fighting back.

this isn’t to undermine ren’s importance to akechi btw — he explicitly acknowledges that he wishes they had met earlier, and there are countless moments throughout their confidant that underscore how much it means to him that they mirror each other so well. he absolutely does want more time with ren, just not under these circumstances.

and that’s also what makes ren’s choice on 2/2 doubly devastating. he knows that either way he loses akechi. and if he takes maruki’s deal, he loses him knowing that his last moments with the real akechi involved the two of them being unforgivably out of sync.

Ohoho well now I am extremely intrigued with your Snake of Ithaca AU. Specifically how the reveal goes of Crowley’s curse, and/or his being the Snake of Ithaca..?

If you’re planning on getting to that eventually, and don’t want to spoil then by all means, ignore this ask. I am just quite curious haha.

After a while Beelzebub gets impatient with Crowley because he's not killing Aziraphale as he should, so they send other two mercenaries, Ligur and Hastur, to do the job. Crowley tries to fight them off to defend Aziraphale... problem is that the more he fights the more his snake features emerge, and he can't stop or Aziraphale will die!!! Crowley manage to defeat Ligur with a trick, but Hastur was about to kill him when Aziraphale just KNOCKS HIM DOWN. Boom, like that, almost effortlessly, "of course I can fight Crowley everybody in my family took military training and I'm also very good at body combat, I just DON'T like fighting!!"

And then when they reach a safe place Aziraphale is like "Oh NOW my vision make sense, you ARE the snake that Apollo's told me will be my friend!" but Crowley being Crowley he just:

...I don't read WFA but I got sent the latest chapter and I just. It's not worth pointing out issues that have already been talked about before, but there's something that's sending me in terms of WFA!Bruce vs our unhinged God-given comics Bruce. They've got him benching the Family and forbidding them from going after Joker because he's afraid they'd get hurt. Meanwhile, in King's run, after Dick, Jason and Damian nearly died:

Bruce literally stores them away in stasis tubes within Clark's Fortress of Solitude to keep them safe, and you can bet he didn't ask them if they wanted that prior to it. Including Clark's reaction to it all as well because it's hilarious.
