I don’t normally make posts like this but I wanna spread awareness to this topic
Cats in China are being brutally tortured and killed maliciously by various groups of people around - young people, ones who should know better.
They adopt cats and then murder them, often putting them through hell beforehand. Doing things such as chopping off all their limbs and hanging them up as “cat bugs”, skinning them alive, putting them in blenders, and many, many other cruel things.
It’s due to the lack of animal protection rights in China is why these people can get away with these things so easily.
They use live footage of cats eating from local feeders in order to capture them, and they’ve already gotten over millions of innocent felines - one of which was a kitten known as Mr. Wink, who was found frozen solid after one of them had drowned him.
These people also go about live streaming footage of themselves torturing and killing kitties that’ve done NOTHING WRONG for views, money and fun. And they gain more and more followers and views everyday.
This shit is not okay at all. They are still out there targeting these creatures, and even had set up a bounty to both find and kill Mr. Fresh (orange cat shown from a live feeder famous for his “side eye”), the money ranging from about $500-600.
Although Mr. Fresh is thankfully safe and in the care of a vet/new guardian. However, there are still many other animals, not just cats themselves, being tortured in China.
I highly recommend visiting and following @feline_guardians on Instagram and to sign their petition for animals to gain more rights in China.
Thank you for listening.

Plus I’m adding a picture of my cat that I redrew cuz he’s silly (and all kitties deserve both love and respect)
Save cats yall!! Every sign counts.

I’m gonna draw a comic about how locally and recently animal shelters were open in the rain, possibly leading to the deaths of several animals.
or used reduced hours as an escape from giving them proper food or water

It is revolting that YouTube won’t do anything to put an end to animal abuse on their platform, and I am not standing for it anymore. It is unfortunately very easy to come across videos of baby monkeys being ABUSED. At the very very least, they could incorporate an algorithm to detect these videos before they’re published. These videos can be several years old, and YouTube does NOTHING about them. NOTHING. Reports don’t even work. This is a disgrace, and I encourage some sort of group action. Unfortunately, I am a small, 50 follower tumblr account who can’t do anything. If anyone with a bigger platform sees this post, big doubt, please, please do what you can to raise awareness. 🙏
At the very least, I am glad that for once, the BBC is doing something useful, but it’s not enough.

This video shows a deeply disturbing and tragic example of the cruel treatment and horrible practice faced by animals at the hands of Chinese cat torture rings." These rings, often operating in the dark corners of social media platforms like Telegram and other Chinese social networking sites, like Douyin and Weibo are notorious for filming and sharing graphic content of animals being subjected to extreme pain and suffering for the purposes of shock value, entertainment, and exploitation.
The poor baby in the video above is either dead or still being tortured as you read this. The perpetrator has not released the video of what he has done to her yet. All we know is that these rings are morbidly creative with the torture they inflict. An example of which a pregnant cat was starved for weeks and was then fed by her torturer her own babies as she gave birth to them.
These actions are not only an immense violation of animal rights, but they also reflect a deeply troubling culture of cruelty that must be addressed globally. Such videos are not simply entertainment; they represent a brutal, premeditated act of violence against vulnerable creatures.
It's crucial to remember that behind every video, there is a real, living animal that is being abused for the sadistic pleasure of others. As global citizens, we have a responsibility to speak out against these acts of cruelty, support organizations that are working to end such practices, and call for stronger laws and enforcement to protect animals from harm.
Chinese animal advocates and activists are speaking out with growing urgency, urging people around the world to help them push for stronger animal welfare laws in China. For years, China has faced criticism for its lack of comprehensive animal protection legislation, which has allowed widespread cruelty to animals without any repercussions. That's why Chinese activists are asking for international support in their efforts to compel the Chinese government to adopt animal welfare laws. The global community can play a pivotal role in amplifying their message and increasing pressure on Chinese policymakers. By raising awareness about the issue and calling for stronger protections for animals, people outside of China can help make it clear that animal rights is a worldwide concern.
Please, spread the word. It’s time to bring global attention to this urgent issue and make sure animal welfare laws are passed in China — for the animals who need our help and for the activists who are bravely fighting for change.
Each person can make a difference by sharing, signing petitions, contacting the media to shed light on this issue, and by peacefully protesting in front of the Chinese Embassy that is located in your country.

As a long time httyd fan who has been heavily involved in the fandom since the first movie and who has spent years working in the animation industry, I’d like to share my thoughts on the new httyd movie. Keep in mind, this is just my personal opinion and it's completely fine if you disagree with me. I just want to say a little something about all this that really bothers me.
The core reason that Dreamworks and Universal made this film is that it’s a quick and easy cash grab for them. Thats it. They don’t care about telling a good story or making a “better” version of the original movie for fans or even having an accurate portrayal of the characters/story. It’s purely about money. They know that fans of the original film will go see this movie, whether it’s good or bad. And those guaranteed ticket sales are all that matter to the studios. And with Universal, it has the added bonus of being a cheap promotional and merchandising opportunity for the new HTTYD land in Orlando that opens around the same time that the film is premiering in theaters.
And to help the studios make even more money out of this, they are using non-unionized VFX companies around the world to make this film, so that they can get cheaper labor and push the artists to do more that would be against American union standards. The same thing has probably happened with the costuming and fabrication for the filming, hence why the costumes look un-weathered and the sets look cheap. They don’t want to pay for the extra time and effort that it would take to make the practical bits of the production look good.
On top of all this, Dreamworks has already announced that they’re shutting down all their in-house animation projects in favor of using AI and outsourcing projects to cheaper international non-union studios.
With all this in mind, I just can’t support this film and I will not be seeing it in theaters. And I hope that others will do the same.
The only way to stop all these horrible “live action” remakes (which are actually just realistically animated remakes) is to not buy tickets to see them. Money is all that matters to these studios, and if they don’t make any money off of it, then they will stop and try something different. Maybe they'll even go back to focusing on original stories!
That’s the power that we hold as audiences. Our wallets help drive the decisions that the executives make. So support unique storytelling and gorgeous cinematography in movies. Support indie films. Support animators as they're fighting for fair pay and better contracts. But don't support a mediocre shot-for-shot remake riding on the coattails of an already successful film.
And I just want to wrap all this up by saying I have absolutely no hate towards anyone that has worked on the new film. Toothless looks incredible and I know the artists and creatives involved in this project did the best they could with what they were given.
But I also know that those same artists have so many more brilliant ideas that they would’ve loved to be given the creative freedom to do. I just wish hollywood would be willing to take a chance and let them do it.

What response would you recommend to people attacking shipping? For that matter, what response would you recommend to Hamas doing that thing they did last October, which everyone has decided didn't happen and wouldn't matter if it did? I don't think the current response is good, but the alternative being offered is literally "roll over and die."
We are so far past a reasonable response to what Hamas did in October that “well what would you have done?” feels like a question that’s in extraordinarily bad faith, whether or not you mean it that way. A policy genuinely aimed at preventing massacres like the one in October starts with not illegally occupying territory, stalling a peace process indefinitely, and persistently dehumanizing and abusing a large civilian population—by the time we’re asking “how do you respond to a group like Hamas attacking civilians” we are already in the realm of abject policy failures, because a group like Hamas only exists because of Israeli policies. An honest response would be something like “fundamentally reassess our approach to Palestine.”
But if Israel has the kind of politics, and Netanyahu was the kind of leader, capable of doing that, it’s hard to imagine things getting this bad in the first place. This is one reason it’s important to put pressure on governments like the UK and US to criticize Israel’s actions, because the push for restraint is not going to come from within Israeli politics.

For the turning things into cats asks, could I get Mangle and/or The Puppet from FNAF as kitties?
Tumblr media
Ms Cinderella, formerly known as Mangle, is our newest rescue here at Freddy's Animal Rescue. She was surrendered to the shelter by a concerned neighbor of her previous owner, who is currently being prosecuted for his crimes. Cinderella is a very anxious cat, but we're all hoping that with love and affection, her spirit will shine through!
