Catholic Nico di Angelo headcanons

Nico shows up at Camp Jupiter speaking Ecclesiastical Latin (as that is what is most natural to him) and everyone else is not amused, because the Camp Jupiter kids hate Ecclesiastical Latin and argue with Nico about the superiority of Classical Latin. Since Ecclesiastical Latin is based on Italian pronunciation, Nico stands firm that it’s superior.

Chiron knows the (Italian) priest of a catholic church on Long Island in his disguise as Mr Brunner, since there are several catholic year-rounders at Camp. When Nico comes to Chiron for his first confession since the 1940s (because he wouldn't go to a mortal priest and he considers confessing to a dead one cheating), Chiron takes him to that Church and takes over the confessional booth for the duration.

Some time after TOA/TSATS Nico holds a small memorial mass for Bianca at the same church. Percy, Annabeth, Grover, Thalia, Reyna, Hazel, and Will are invited. Hades (in his Capela dos Ossos monk look from BoO) and Artemis drop by uninvited.

Nico doesn't go to communion, because it's only for Catholics in good standing and he doesn't consider himself to be one of those as the son of Hades.

Nico and Reyna bind over being raised Catholic in 1940s Italy and Puerto Rico respectively.

Scott groaned as he peeled away the scrappy remains of his shirt. The sores decorating his torso had stopped sizzling, but he knew better than to act like things couldn't get worse.

His eyes shut, trying to combat the nausea of pain with darkness, just for a moment.

I should get help.

He curled forward, hands finding the wall of the sink to support himself.

I can't even turn the water on.

The hurt was beginning to send shivers through him. Every place the alchemical accident had touched his fur had become a source of radiating heat and pain. At the thought of trying to climb the sink and turn the tap, his arms cramped up and he hissed like a pissed off cat.

"Someone there?"

Scott could have sobbed. "Up here! Please, I need help."

Muffled cursing and scrabbling claws drew close, until a shadow appeared in his blurry vision. "Oh shit. That's not great."

A strained laugh fell from his lips as tears welled. "Need to rinse the acid off. Can't you turn on the water?"

Martyn hurried to it. "What happened?"

She is betrayed by posers, who hand her over to the police, is tried and executed, becoming a symbol for the revolution, which wins against the system in the end.

Quick little reff for Penn. they/them rat with a love of line work tattoos. They’re a quiet roadie and stage hand with a long music background. Can occasionally be heard singing alone when they think no one is around.

I know rats are plantigrade, they just do tippy-toes because they’re neurodiverse, which makes them taller, which they also would prefer not to be as they are “slightly scared of ceiling fans” tall.
