WIP WEDNESDAY:

"Hey Loki," Thor greets as Loki takes his place at the table.

"You know each other?" one of the other players, a man with curly salt and pepper hair and a bit of a sour expression asks.

Thor rolls his eyes. "Calm down, Banner, he deals here, our paths have crossed." He gives Loki another smile. "Nothing wrong with that."

Loki rolls his eyes because he's starting to get the measure of Thor; this is a man used to winning, a man with charisma and the looks to make it work. "Still not cool, man," the other player grumbles, but lets it go.

As it turns out, the other player- Banner - is a decent strategist. Decent enough to move on to the next round alongside Thor, in fact. Loki deals for several rounds, watching Thor merrily joking his way through win after win. When he loses, he takes it in stride, and Loki finds that he's almost enjoying himself as Thor seems to make friends with everyone at the table.

Soon enough, and sooner than Loki had expected, his rounds end and he finds himself standing on the sidelines, watching the remaining competitors. "You did great, Kitten," Gast says, sidling up beside Loki and snaking an arm around his waist.

Human AU, Loki is a dealer at Sakaar Casino and Thor is a “professional” card player. Their paths cross, and cross, and cross - and Loki cant help but see the downward spiral. Thor/Jane, Loki/Grandmaster, eventual Thorki.
