okay listen. I get the urge to talk about my favorite life series ship like it's Canon in every season...BUT. THAT HAS NEVER ONCE BEEN THE CASE.

Yes, Jimmy would be upset if Tango canaried (technical scientific term for that). Everyone would be- even I would be, and I've never watched a single one of his videos. Canarying sucks, and it hurts. Of course I would be upset. THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT I THINK JIMMY WOULD BREAK DOWN SOBBING FROM A CHARACTER STAND POINT. They have had only like... THREE on screen interactions. One is Tango murdering a man infront of Jimmy and another is Tango cheerfully burning down something one of Jimmy's teammates worked very hard on. WildLifeChara!Jimmy has more reason to hate or be afraid of WildLifeChara!Tango than to be madly in love with him.

I promise you, if Tango had offered Jimmy a life instead of Ren, people wouldn't shut up about for MONTHS. But, because it's Ren, somehow the interaction isn't NEARLY as homoerotic??? I understand having NOTP's, but the Jimmy/Ren ship doesn't even show up ONCE on ao3. Zero fics. ZE-RO. There's no reason to hate something that doesn't even exist.

This same concept applies for Flower Husbands as well- not just in Wild Life, and Secret Life and Limited Life and Last Life and Real Life though- in Empires.

I have no clue about Empires Season 1, but they barely interacted in Empires Season 2- and yet the amount of ship art I sift through on a weekly basis for my side blog is actually insane. Yeah, the few interactions WERE important, but I think Scott only flirted (in video) with Jimmy maaybbeeee three times. I have no idea what the count of that for streaming is, but I swear it is not enough to keep that number so inflated.

Although, honestly, this problem might just be affecting me because of my personal view on shipping- if it's in a context where it doesn't make sense for the characters to be romantically engaged, I won't read it or write it.

For example, my beloved Solidwood! I mostly get their vibes or read their fics from the following series: Evo, Last Life, New Life, Empires2, Secret Life. That's because those settings make sense! They are active, they are engaged, they have near constant interactions or very close base locations. It makes SENSE for them to be shipped. However, if you showed me art or fic of them in, say, Limited Life, I'd furrow my brow and tilt my head and say "no, that doesn't do anything for me." BECAUSE THEY HAVE ZERO REASON TO BE INVESTED ROMANTICALLY IN ONE ANOTHER THERE, AS A STAND ALONE SETTING.

Most of the major Jimmy ships, though, don't follow this rule. I can understand loving a ship so much you want to see it everywhere- but, I promise you, stepping back and looking at which characters actually have chemistry regarding the new setting and social system will do wonders... you won't have to think of new Au's to insert your favorite ship into a new setting... all ships will be your favorite ship (unless they give you the ick). Join the multishiper hivemind /j

No but honestly it's gotten to the point where I will like or dislike a creator/character of theirs by what ship is their most popular given the context of the setting. Like, Tango in Double Life? Awww the sweetie!! I love him :) and then Tango in Empires2 sets off alarm bells in my brain screaming at me. He is NOT meant to be here bringing that ship here, this is NOT its territory. Same problem for Scott in nearly damn near every SMP both Jimmy and him are in... except Wild Life because he's actually been pretty nice and not condescending or forcing on Jimmy. I guess also power imbalances in how fans view them is a major no-go for me...

Idk if you read this whole thing thanks I guess... for anymore needed context I am a Jimmy rarepair obsessed multishiper.

TLDR; Lots of popular ships are inserted into settings without a thought for what that would mean for the setting and any changes in the established social connections, which gives OP the ick. I'm also not policing ships I'm just begging people to please either understand more ships using in setting context or list their AU details in the summaries of the fics. This goes hand in hand with misinterpreting characters in writing also... the more ships you like the more characters you will get to get good at writing!!!!

Here’s your request. I don’t know much about gem and this is my first time drawing her. I didn’t know if you wanted her from empires or hermitcraft so I did a mix of both. I really like how people draw her skin from empires2 so I tried to incorporate that. Her wings are supposed to have crystals in them but I didn’t have time to detail them to look like crystals, sorry-

thinking about empires2 shelby and katherine having “magic dates” where shelby practices spells and potions, teaching katherine some of her easy ones, and them spending hours together in ancient libraries pouring over books trying to break katherine’s curse.

thinking about katherine breaking down to shelby, exhausted from the curse, and shelby offering her lands as a safe haven to escape from it just for a little while. thinking about shelby confessing to katherine that sometimes, sometimes she misses the skulk, and longs for a time when it was easier to control her magic.

Ive been listening to this song for an hour on loop and one of the lyrics is "I don't believe in god but I believe that you're my savior" and I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out what it reminds me off...

ITS THE DYANMIC OF GOD JOEL AND SHERIFF JIMMY VS BAD BOY JOEL AND JIMMY!!!! because after limited life Jimmy has said MULTIPLE TIMES that Joel was the only one who ever really tried to stop the curse and was willing to sacrifice himself if needed, and even though he wasn't able to, that still made Joel his hero. And that's a really intresting parallel to the majority of empires season 2 (which limited life intersected in terms of time) as Jimmy said multiple times to Joel's face that "he wasn't a real god" or something to that effect. He even joined a counter religion with a core tenat being to deny the existence of another gods! sorry for the yap I'm lowkey obsessed with these two idiots

Ok, so after watching Pix’s Empires2 finale, and after hearing the stuff about how the original settlers of Tumble Town were armor stands given life by Mezealea’s King Joel, a headcanon just hit me like an absolute brick…

What if the Jimmy that we know from Tumblr Town was King Joel’s attempt to sculpt his friend back to life?

Think about it! It makes sense! In season one, Jimmy left without ever seeing King Joel again, and it is said at the beginning of season 2 in God Joel’s first episode that King Joel died of a broken heart (we’re ignoring how dubiously canon God Joel’s finale made that lol). So it makes sense that Joel, given the gift of being able to sculpt figures and give them life, would attempt to sculpt Jimmy, his best friend and brother-in-law. And maybe his attempts were always just slightly off… eventually he gave up, leaving one singular sculpture that had ended up being too short and too quick to anger to be his best friend. Maybe that sculpture was put to the side for many decades, centuries, even, until life was breathed into him and he wandered the deserts until he found a hat, and the rest is history. Idk if this even would make sense, but let me know what you think!

Grian saw him when he was bothering Joel up in Statos, a blip of color down on the ground. A blip he decides to go say hi to and look around Chroma as well while he's there. It's at one of the clothing shops that Grian pauses during the tour, noticing a bright, rainbow colored sweater that looked, design wise, incredibly similar to his own. Even down to the holes for his wings in the back. Scott admits it was a custom made gift for him, a welcoming gift to the server, and is very huffy that Grian went and ruined the surprise.

Um.mm I love them??? So so so much. I didn't watch Jimmy's empires2 pov while it was coming out so I didn't get to see them interact in that setting till a bit earlier this year. But even before whenever I saw them interact in the life series I wanted them to hang around each other longer, team up, stuff like that. I got super excited at the start of SL because of yknow them complimenting each other and the prospect of them teaming... instead I settled for them being neighbors with a weird relationship (never forgiving Scott for that). They were absolutely SILLY in Empires, and I am very glad Jimmy (character wise) had an anchor/person to lean on in that time period before the Old Sheriff. And now I am VERY excited to see what they do in Wild Life!

Trails of Pixlriffs on HC9

When I finally got to explore the Hermitcraft 9 world, my first stops were all the places with connections to Pixlriffs. The Rift story line with the Empires crossover was my favourite part of HC9.

First stop: his room in the Crastle with the gifted Emeralds from King Sausage:

Next stop: the Christmas Village. Pix built Santa's Workshop and the frozen river.

Then the highlight: David V in Xisuma's basement

Last stop: Cub's museum, where we meet Piggslriffs from the Pulled Pork Zedvancement and find Archeologist Pix among the other Empires2 members.

The place where Pix punched his first trees, mined his first stone and got a goat horn.

The chest at the entrance to his first cave mining, including some old stone tools and the iron chestplate he never wore, because he got an elytra from Ren, when he came through the Rift.
