Energy X-Prix: Cristina Gutiérrez y Sebastien Loeb consiguen el título de Extreme E para X44 y Lewis Hamilton, Nasser Al-Attiyah y Klara Andersson ganaron en Uruguay

Una definición al rojo vivo tuvo la Extreme E en Uruguay, luego de que Cristina Gutiérrez y Sebastien Loeb se quedaran con lo justo con el título de campeones 2022 tras conseguir exactamente el tercer lugar que necesitaban más los puntos del Continental Traction Challenge. Fue una carrera difícil para Gutiérrez y Loeb afectada por el polvo y solamente lograron la P3 en los últimos metros cuando se anunció una penalización de 7 segundos sobre el Andretti United. En cuanto a la carrera en sí, ABT Cupra dominó completamente las acciones con Nasser Al-Attiyah y Klara Andersson logrando su primera victoria en la serie de SUV eléctricos.

La carrera arrancó con Sebastien Loeb teniendo una gran partida por fuera y poniéndose primero, pero desafortunadamente se pasó en un par de curvas y fue superado por Nasser Al-Attiyah primero y luego por Tanner Foust de McLaren y Timmy Hansen de Andretti después. Con el polvo no le era posible progresar pese a mostrar que era más rápido, y así se mantuvieron las posiciones hasta el cambio de pilotos. Ese fue el momento trascendental luego de que Andretti United cometiera un exceso de velocidad en la calle de boxes y fuera penalizado. Con McLaren, Andretti y X44 muy apretados en el final de la carrera con Emma Gilmour, Catie Munnings y Cristina Gutiérrez respectivamente, el equipo Andretti United cayó al cuarto puesto y quedó fuera del podio, subiendo a X44 con Loeb y Gutiérrez al puesto que necesitaban para ganar el campeonato. Adelante, Klara Andersson confirmó el gran manejo de Al-Attiyah y terminó ganando con cómoda ventaja. 

Los comisarios de todas maneras investigan un contacto entre Gutiérrez y Molly Taylor de Veloce en la tercera vuelta, que terminó con el auto de Veloce fuera de la pista.

A equipe da Mclaren vai anunciar a sua nova dupla de pilotos no devido tempo. Más um chute para o posto de pilota feminina poderia ser a Hedda Hosas que correu a última rodada dupla no Chile, e também a Klara Andersson que correu as duas últimas etapas de 2022 e a temporada de 2023 pela ABT Cupra.

Veloce Racing parte la temporada 2023 de Extreme E con victoria en el Desert X-Prix I: Molly Taylor y Kevin Hansen ganaron en Arabia Saudita

El equipo Veloce rompió el maleficio de la primera carrera en Arabia Saudita que los había visto golpearse fuertemente en 2021 y 2022 para ganar la ronda de Neom en el Desert X-Prix I 2023. Luego de encontrarse en segunda posición en la Final tras una sólida ronda de clasificaciones, Veloce recibió el triunfo luego de que una penalización importante fuera cargada al Rosberg X Racing cuando Mikaela Ahlin-Kottulinsky pasó a alta velocidad y por fuera del trazado en una zona de banderas amarillas por el accidente de RJ Anderson. Así, Rosberg cayó a tercero en la Final pese a haber cruzado la meta primero y Molly Taylor junto a Kevin Hansen recibieron el triunfo.

La maniobra clave del evento finalmente terminó siendo una en la que Molly Taylor inicialmente había cometido un error, al aplicar el Hyperdrive a pocos metros de comenzar la zona de neutralización por el accidente de Anderson antes de un salto. Ahlin-Kottulinsky frenó demasiado tarde y pasó por fuera del trazado, en tanto que Taylor logró detenerse antes y también respetó el circuito. La maniobra le costó a Taylor unos seis o siete segundos, que fueron vistos por los comisarios y que le valieron 136 segundos de penalización al equipo de Rosberg. 

En el segundo puesto y luego de una carrera bastante solitaria terminaron Mattias Ekstrom y Laia Sanz del Acciona Sainz, que demostraron su velocidad ganando el Traction Challenge con el mejor tiempo en el sector señalizado.

Cristina Gutiérrez y Fraser McConnell del X44 debutaron con un cuarto lugar luego de sufrir problemas mecánicos en la Final. Christine GZ y Timo Scheider del Carl Cox se quedaron en la Redemption Race para los que no pasaron a la Final y terminaron segundos en esta competencia, quedando así sextos generales en la primera prueba del año.

La Redemption Race tuvo dos vuelcos con Timmy Hansen golpeando a Scheider y perdiendo el control en la largada para el Andretti United y Nasser Al-Attiyah volcando luego de tomar muy agresivamente una curva intentando pasar a Tanner Foust por la punta de la competencia. Ambos terminan en el fondo de la tabla en este fin de semana. Foust y Emma Gilmour ganaron la Redemption Race para McLaren.

Mañana se disputará una segunda carrera en Neom.
