Synastry Aspects
If I use pop culture music to express the relation between synastry aspects, these would be some examples... I chose some of my favorite and least favorites (painful vs pleasurable).
Mars Trine Mars: "Power" by Kanye West ft. Dwele - This aspect indicates a strong, dynamic, and energetic connection between partners.
Mars Conjunct Venus: "Hungry Eyes" by Eric Carmen - This aspect suggests a passionate, sexually charged, and intense attraction between partners.
Venus Conjunct Pluto: "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak - This aspect points to a deeply transformative, obsessive, and all-consuming love connection.
Pluto in Opposition to Lilith: "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by Eurythmics - This aspect highlights a complex, psychologically intense, and potentially manipulative dynamic between partners.
Venus Conjunct Venus: "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran - This aspect indicates a strong harmonious connection, shared values, and a deep appreciation for love and beauty between partners.
Pluto Conjunct Sun: "Love on the Brain" by Rihanna - This aspect suggests an intensely transformative, powerful, and even obsessive relationship that deeply impacts one's identity and sense of self.
Moon Sextile Moon: "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri - This aspect points to a strong emotional connection, understanding, and support between partners.
Mars Square Pluto: "Love the Way You Lie" by Eminem ft. Rihanna - This aspect indicates an intense, passionate, and potentially destructive or power-struggle-prone dynamic between partners.

SHADOWs of GHOST Character Playlist💜
Heyo! So I’ve been working on this over the course of the year, typically having some days where I go on a rabbit hole to find songs and then other times just throwing songs in as I hear them and see them fit. It’s finally at a place where everyone has a fair amount of music to share: I’ve been aiming for 3-5 per character and have finally reached that.
Everyone involved is a major character of the SHADOWs of GHOST trilogy, which includes: E.G.O vs A.L.T.E.R, GHOST vs SHADOW agents, and the Drifters. My goal was to find music with lyrical meanings that I thought fit my headcanons/interpretations of the skins, or music that fit their general vibes (but not necessarily music I think they’d listen to, though I did try to keep it to genres I associate with them). I’ve been fairly picky with every song and though most of them are carefully and intentionally chosen, a few are them are biases from my own music taste/favorite artists (The Warning, A7X, tøp).
I’m aiming for everyone to have 5 songs in the end and will continuously be updating (and sharing the updates as I do, hopefully). Currently, the ones who don’t have 5 are: Maya, Jules, Outcast, Riptide, Chic, Rue
Fusion and Chaos Agent are included, with Fusion having only 3 and Chaos Agent only having 1. Chaos Agent’s one song is intentional; I’m satisfied with Fusion’s only 3 but this might change.
Without further ado, here’s the individual list (with occasional comments :))
GHOST
Midas
The Fever - Foreign Figures
Glitter & Gold - Barns Courtney
Only One King - Tommee Profitt, Jung Youth
Feeling Good - Michael Bublé (a classic and obvious choice, if a bit cliche)
Gold - Imagine Dragons
Brutus
Indestructible - Disturbed
All Eyes On You - Smash Into Pieces
M.I.A - Avenged Sevenfold
This Is What I Live For - Graffiti Ghosts
Fight For My Survival - The Phantoms
Brutus was one of the more difficult ones to choose songs for, I’m not sure why. I’m not 100% satisfied but I don’t hate it either; Indestructible is really the only 100%.
TNTina
Take Cover - UNSECRET, Emily Kopp
Bomber - Girlschool
S!CK - The Warning
The Trouble - Club Danger
Trouble - Valerie Broussard
Meowscles
‘Till I Collapse - Eminem, Nate Dogg
Ready For It - J.Pollock, Manwell
Ready To Play - Club Danger
Die For You - The Siege
All I Do Is Win - DJ Khaled, etc. (i’m obsessed with the emote so I felt obligated to throw this one in lmao, fits decently anyway)
Skye
It Is What It Is - Jenna Raine
Irony - majiko
Cloudy Day - Tones And I
Wildflowers - Maddie Poppe
The Pines - Roses & Revolutions
Maya
again&again - Against The Current, guardin
Younger - The Aces
Best Excuse - Saint Chaos
To My Younger Self - Britton
Drifters
Jules
overwhelmed - Royal & The Serpent
Conversations - Marney
Idle Worship - Paramore
Gasoline - Halsey
CHOKE - The Warning (bias pick but I also feel it fits her story well.)
Ocean
Protector - City Wolf
Wildfire - The Warning
I Am The Fire - Halestorm
Born For This - The Score
Warrior Inside - Leader
Fade
Last Semester - twenty one pilots
Feel Good Inc. Gorillaz
Bad Habit - Steve Lacy
Dynasties & Dystopia (from Arcane) - Denzel Curry, Gizzle, Bren Joy
Butterflies & Hurricanes - Muse
Fade’s songs are entirely based on vibes if I’m being honest, though I believe Last Semester/Butterflies & Hurricanes do fit more than that. I actually do see him listening to Gorillaz and twenty one pilots :)
Kit
Running Free - Iron Maiden
Riot - Three Days Grace
Burn It Down - Skillet
Welcome To The Family - Avenged Sevenfold
Get Up - All Good Things
Cute little kitten’s built-in emote is rock/metal in game, so I had to incorporate it into his music here. A7X is for vibes and bias; okay maybe most of the songs besides Running Free are for vibes.
Siona
Runaway - AURORA
Subterranean Homesick Alien - Radiohead
Starlight - Muse
Saturn - SZA
No Roots - Alice Merton
Eternal Knight
Noble Blood - Tommee Profitt, Fleurie
Ruins - Ella Isaacson
One Time - King Crimson
Throne - Saint Mesa
Breath of Life - Florence + The Machine
I tried the hardest to match vibes with meanings for her songs for some reason, which was slightly difficult because she’s a knight and so I wanted the vibes to reflect the medieval theme. I feel Ruins kind of breaks that but the meaning fit too well with her journey and falling out with the knights.
E.G.O
Journey
Mountains - We Are All Fossils
Stand By You - Rachel Platten (biased because it’s one of my personal anthems)
Pocketful of Sunshine - Natasha Bedingfield (Journey’s personality is like the definition of sunshine so)
This Mountain - Faouzia
Marigolds - early eyes
Turk
Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
Angler - The Rills (entirely vibes + the title)
It’s My Life - Bon Jovi
Ride On - AC/DC
Somewhere Only We Know - Keane
The decision for Turk to have mainly classic rock was so easy, but not as easy for me to incorporate because I don’t listen to a lot of classic rock. Regardless I’m satisfied with the choice :)
8-Ball
Rain (from The Suicide Squad) - grandson, Jessie Reyez
Raise My Flag - ill Factor, Graham Cochrane
Losing Blood - Weathers
Stressed Out - twenty one pilots
The Unforgiven II - Metallica
Give this guy a hug bro
Remedy
Gilded Lily - Cults
Free To Decide - The Cranberries
CROW - UPIKO
Taking Care of Things - Cavetown
anemone - BAND-MAID
Give her a hug too wow. As a medical professional she’s seen a lot, and in my headcanon backstory she went through some rough patches growing up. These things made up the choices of pretty much the first four songs. anemome is a bias pick because I’m obsessed with the song, but also because I headcanon her as Japanese alongside 8-Ball and Scratch.
Cameo
Ready Or Not - HAYZ
Me Too - Meghan Trainor (such an obvious pick when i finally heard the song again)
Machine - Misterwivez
Make It Look Easy - Valley of Wolves
The Rush - JJ Wilde
Outcast
Airhead - Honey Revenge
Six Feet Deep - Neoni, Besomorph
Walking on Water - Astyria
Relentless - Lost Stars
DISCIPLE - The Warning
A.L.T.E.R/SHADOW
Toxin
Maybe, I - Des Rocs
Used To The Darkness - Des Rocs
In The Shadows - Amy Stroup
Cold Blood - Valen
Pick Your Poison - Black Pistol Fire
Hazard
OUTLAW - Neoni
Never Say Die - Neoni
Cynical - Emei
yes & no - XYLØ
Fallin’ - Your Neighbors
Riptide
Get Over It - The Eagles
Leading The Pack - Sam Tinnesz
Come and Get It from Me - Sun Heat
The Hunter - Adam Jensen
Scratch
Last Man Standing - Graffiti Ghosts
Winner - Walgrove
Hustler - Zayde Wølf
Run This Town - Konata Small, Zayde Wølf
Reckless - JAXSON GAMBLE
The last two are also shared with Zadie—I like to imagine them as an epic assassin/mercenary duo before Scratch gets tied up with the Alter Ego stuff.
Chic
Hush - The Marías
Smile For The Camera - UPSAHL
Bubblegum Bitch - MARINA
O.D.D - Hey Violet
Messy - Lola Young
Sorana
Hit and Run - LOLO
Teach Me To Fight - YONAKA
Traitor - Daughtry
Are You Ready? - Kat Meoz
Bad Reputation - Joan Jett
Rue
god sent me as karma - emlyn
Crystallised - The XX
Back With A Vengeance - Portals
Only 3 songs kind of disappoints me but as I said I’m really picky. Technically, her whole thing is vengeance based on her skin description but in SoG there’s a little more going on. I already have two vengeance songs and I don’t want to make all of it about revenge. There was a fourth song but I removed it for that reason.
Fusion
Misfit Lunatic - MISSIO
The One To Survivor - Hidden Citizens, Josh Bruce Williams
Rebel Renegade - Tommee Profitt - Beacon Light
Chaos Agent
The Reckoning - UNSECRET, Matthew Perryman Jones
And finally, what felt like the one and most obvious choice for Chaos Agent.
Thanks for checking this list out! As I said I will continue updating it as I find the last few songs or switch ones out if I see fit. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays or Happy Wednesday everyone!! Have some good food, enjoy time with family, and overall have a great day <3

Eminem vs Cancel culture X'D
this whole cancel eminem thing is making me laugh my ass off. Seriously as a early 90s baby it truly is hilarious to me that so many people are offended by one song. who were not even born when em started his rap game, thinking that this is the first time, he has "offended" people. It isn't. The man speaks his mind, and says so out loud without fear.
this guy has been "dissing people" for years since he started rapping during a time where white rappers, were not allowed in the hip hop/ rap space. Case in point, Vanilla Ice, tried it back then. Vanilla got laughed at and his ass was booted out of the scene. they wanted nothing to do with him.
Then here comes Em a dude who literally came from nothing, got booed at rap battles, lost a few of them. Was told he was never going to make in the rap scene at all, having a horrible upbringing ect. yet look where the man is now.
Managed to bust his ass and gain the respect of most of the black rappers within the rap game. Who also in return give him the upmost respect and are cool with him. Back when they were all trying to come up themselves trying to make a name for themselves and cement their legacy's like Pac (may he rest in peace).
He has managed to cement himself as one of the greatest rappers of all time and has EARNED their respect. It's why he is a legend in his own right and why other rappers won't dare mess with him in the sense of causing beef with him.
In fact, I am almost certain that it seems like a "right of passage" at this point to be apart of or even in one of Em's songs. X'D and he has far worse lyrics in other songs that make "Houdini" sound like a church song on sunday.
"Kim" about him getting into a fight with his ex wife, then murdering her. Due to intense anger towards her.
"Bonnie and Clyde 97'- Him putting his wife's body in the trunk of his car and going to dispose of said body at the beach. With his daughter in the car as well.
"Guilty Conscience"- themes of date rape, murder, robbery.
"Criminal"- murder
"Stan"- the story of an obsessed Em fan who ends up commiting murder on his girlfriend, then killing himself.
"Kill you"- theme of rape
"The Real Slim Shady"- directed at Christina & Brittany Spears. (which disses both of them and it's funny as shit!)
"Cleaning out my Closet" - About Em's mom
Which every kid now adult of my generation knows about these songs. And i'm sure that they could name many different ones even though these song are controversial in nature it proves how crazy of a story teller that Em can be.
The only people that he has truly dissed within his career and had actual issues with was MGK for talking about his daughter and Ja Rule who did the same thing. which is understandable you don't go after a man's daughter and get away with it. But everyone else who are apart of his songs, he has got no real beef with. In his very own words he said himself, that if the name fits with the song then he is going to use it. It is nothing personal for him unless, someone does something to make it personal like talk about his daughter.
So all of those who are "offended" by the song. You are going to have a long damn way to go if you decide to travel down that rabbit hole. he's got a lot of them.
This isn't the first time Em has been talked about due to his controversial lyrics. And it certainly won't be the last I'm sure, but the world seriously needs to get over itself. Not everything needs to be taken so damn seriously.
Em's not going anywhere there way too many people who like him and respect him for what he does. Besides, the man has already proven himself enough, he has nothing to prove anymore. He showed himself and the world that he could become a great rapper and he did it. he did it all to give a better life to his kids.
But if you are easily that offended by THAT then I dare you to sit down and listen to "Dancing with the Devil" by Immortal Technique all the way through and then come back and tell me you are still offended by Eminem.

🍄 ROUND 2: MATCH 6 🍄
🍄 Vote for your Favorite Fungi! 🍄
Descriptions Below ⬇️
Hattifatteners
"this is maybe too mush of a stretch but [they] are basically sentient bioluminescent fungi creatures
pretty sure the fungal nature of the hattifatteners is established in moomin summer madness specifically" - Askbox Submission
"Hattifatteners are mysterious creatures whose only motivation in life is to keep moving towards the horizon. They are pale grey-white in colour and look something like mushroom stalks with paws that extend directly from their trunks. They grow from little white seeds - but only if the seeds are sown on Midsummer's Eve - and can become charged up with electricity in lightning storms." - Moomin.Com
Moomin Wiki
Amanita
"There are villains in just dance, apparently. This is one of them. She is the dancer for "without me" by Eminem. For some reason. Because there is an Eminem song in a dance game that somewhat markets to kids. For some reason. And this is the "extreme" version of the song. There are two versions of the choreography for this song. For some reason. And the extreme version has a mushroom lady as the coach. For some reason. Kind of a girlboss, I suppose? For some reason?" - Submission 160
"saw your post about someone submitting her and went "oh i should submit her too." but yes just dance does in fact have lore connecting different songs! for amanita's story, you get most of it by watching "without me" from just dance 2021 and paying attention to the background. she's also the dancer of the without me extreme version :] (there has also been a comment from the just dance loremaster that the coach of boss witch turned her evil bit that's a bit more obscure lore haha)" - Submission 163
"'she eeeevillill & canonly up against the other without me coaches lol" - Submission 187

So I've noticed something in recent years about media consumption (I know your eyes are probably already glazing over). Well it's probably been a thing for a long time but the idea of waning or waxing popularity with time. I mostly want to talk about waning but for the waxing side I feel like I've always seen it with music. An album comes out, has kind of mediocre reviews or is generally seen as good not great, but a few years later and it's revered as a classic with some of the best songs the artist has ever made. An easy one to point at for that here is Eminem I mean he literally mentions it in one of his songs too, but that aside onto the waning. I've seen this with almost every major popular thing in recent memory but I'm going to hone in on video games and the latest example being Baldur's Gate 3. The way it went from receiving nothing but praise to nothing but criticism. The pedestal it was put on being ripped away by fans right away for any conceivable thing that wasn't as good as it could be. It makes me think that once we start declaring something is amazing, perfect, a classic in the making, that there is going to be an inevitable heel turn on it. Now I can't confirm every corner of the internet (I swear I do touch grass sometimes) just what I see online so anecdotal as this may be I'd be curious to see if others have noticed it too, but I see almost everything that the game received praise for now being given back in criticism. "It was a perfect game the characters were deep and there's so much to do!" Into "The story was really lacking, half the play throughs weren't that good and honestly the characters didn't do enough/weren't eccentric enough." Which I kind of find fascinating. Personally I don't have hard feelings on it, I think the endgame pacing could be tweaked and some more content for Wyll added, but overall I enjoyed the game plenty (200 hours) and then moved along. I find it really interest to see the overall narrative start to slide hard though, the way those little things are not becoming detriments and that Larian need to add x, y, and z things or the game is terrible. I don't think this is exclusive of BG3 either, it feels like something that sort of permeates fandom these days. The idea that when something is so good in the eyes of many there is an inevitable tearing it down as soon as enough people decide it could be better. On the flipside midling games or content that slowly gets better seems to have it's public perception in a better state a few years after the game vs games that came out with incredible reviews and response that just let their finished works be. It makes me wonder if say No man's Sky, Cyberpunk, etc games that people would say sucked on launch but got way better with updates would stack at their peak against a BG3 in fandom eyes. Would those games have gotten the inevitable tear down too? Idk this is all just a ramble I've been watching the slow change from happy to disgruntled within this fandom for a little while now and I just think it's interesting to talk about from a fan pov.

Dede, 2000.
I met Dede at the turn of the millennium through the channels of community college’s media wing. He wasn’t just as enthusiastic about music as I was, he was part of a two-piece synthpop outfit which I won’t mention. He stood out as he was into Depeche Mode, New Order, Joy Division, darkwave, brit-pop, and industrial. Two out of six to me wasn’t bad and I was alien to the others, but we became quick friends along with the other writers who also were musicians themselves. Long story short: he had summer backyard parties, held performances which I (was forced to be) frequented, and even went as far as getting me a job at his pool place, simply because he was really awesome.
As an up-and-coming local musician, Dede always poured it on me to hear this, hear that, hear what he’s into at this moment, at this minute, and this lifetime. Coming from Port Jefferson, he was raised on the Music Den where they sold the best in obscure and underground titles and the town population wore their trendy shoegaze, indie, and brit-pop medals with pride and discrimination. So it was no surprise he would offer me a free mixtape because he eminated awesome. He was the ultimate tastemaker who believed he knew what’s best for everyone that came into contact with him. In other words, he was center of the universe.
Outside our time as friends, it was a heavy rotation of post-performance diner nights amidst never-ending drama with the community-college demographic. Cock-blocking by friends ensued. An interest who severely burned me and played a great game with her friends against me ended up in one of my classes. Not good. All was not lost in a still-burning hell. I kept in touch with a New Jersey girl over chat rooms during the dawn of “the internet” who sympathized with all I was going through, which was the only thing I wanted to look forward to. So it wasn’t a total flush.
Perhaps Dede’s mixtape was one of the only few good things I have from an era of uncertainly, unease, and awkwardness. At the time I was very heavily into DHR, The Prodigy, Underworld, Autechre, and started getting into noise. Dede’s tape is a reflection of polarizing musical tastes between us; a mix of what was happening around him, his personal favorites, and how one new-wave brit-pop band endured the decades while never shaking off the Eighties tags forever with them. A mixtape where Covenant’s “Tour De Force” (1999) was his voicemail music, Apoptygma Berzerk’s “Eclipse” was played tirelessly on WUSB, and Eminem, Moby, and Robbie Williams enjoyed endless spins on radio and television.
Dede’s mixtape:
Apoptygma Berzerk “Eclipse”
Robbie Williams “Millenium”
Covenant “Tour De Force”
Wolfsheim “Lovesong”
Moby “Honey”
The Cure “Maybe Someday”
OMD “Tesla Girls”
Pet Shop Boys “Radiophonic”
Apoptygma Berzerk “Love Never Dies”
Eminem “Bad Meets Evil”
Radiohead “Karma Police”
Pet Shop Boys vs. Village People “New York City Boy”
Pet Shop Boys “The Ghost Of Myself”

The Ceaseless Eve Playlist: Let's Discuss
⚠️ The following contains spoilers for any & all of Ceaseless Eve ⚠️
So, the playlist has about 75 songs on it right now, and I reference over 20 of them here. I thought I would divide them into different catagories so you could see why I decided to put these types of songs on the playlist. Also, the playlist is open for suggestions, so if you see a song you think should be on here, please let me know! And, if you're curious about any song in particular I didn't sort on here, lmk, I'd be happy to answer an ask about it or something :-)
General pjo songs: • How Far We've Come by Matchbox Twenty (Viria's 2013 video my beloved) • Ophelia by The Lumineers • Renegades by X Ambassadors • Achilles Come Down by Gang of Youths • Viva La Vida by Coldplay • & every Imagine Dragons song lmao
Songs referenced in the text: • California Gurls by Katy Perry & Snoop Dogg • Love The Way You Lie by Eminem & Rihanna (These two are referenced as playing on the radio just to show the time period, though I might be a bit more wibbly-wobbly with it in the future rather than making sure everything is strictly 2010. Meaning, I might reference a Hunger Games T-shirt or something, not TikTok lmao)
• Hotel California by Eagles (this was just referenced as it was the first thing to come to mind, but it makes sense—the monster doesn't want them leaving. Plus it's a good song!)
• Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus (the original title of chapter 19 was "leo experiences the death-zone", referencing when he passes out, but also kind-of the "friend zone"? Until I realized that's dumb as hell and the "friend zone" isn't real, so I changed it. Besides, if you look into the lyrics of Teenage Dirtbag, it's about a kid who's insecure and thinks his crush doesn't like him back, when really she does...remind you of anyone? 🤠)
Songs that have the general vibe of the plot: • Run Boy Run by Woodkid • Mr. Sandman by SYML • I Ran (So Far Away) by Hidden Citizens • Skyfall by Adele • Once Upon A Dream by Lana Del Ray • Bottom of the Pit by The Living Tombstone
Cool instrumental/electronic music: • Tetris by Game Chops & Cement City (This song always makes me think of Leo fighting with Nico's sword, like he does in chapter 4) • YOU'RE TOO SLOW! by squirl beats • Leni (Crystal Castles vs GoodBooks) by GoodBooks & Crystal Castles • INCOMING by MC ORSEN
Why so much Hot Freaks? Hot Freaks was my favorite band for a while during the writing of CE. While I don't have a favorite band at the moment, I still like HF and I think a lot of their songs are relevant to CE, particularly as Leo songs or valdangelo songs. You should give their new album a listen, especially the songs that are on the playlist 🤠
Bonus Song:
• From the Start by Good Kid
(This song is actually for the sequel, Ivory Rain. I thought I would add it and see if anyone picks up any vibes or has any guesses for what the sequel might contain :-) )
That should be all, again lmk if you have suggestions, questions, or just what your favorite song on the playlist is <3

IM THE LEAD WHY AM I NOT LIKE HOW EMINEM SAID ID BE!!!!"
Like I just made all that up. Bc i dont read idol rhythm game stories because theyre boring lol. And I talked to wiener abt d4dj bc he actually reads stories and found out im completely wrong about everything and muni is actually annoying as fuck like goddamn this isnt even a fanon vs canon moment its just my delusions vs canon

I’d like to add some shows and art as suggestions. I don’t know if these are considered problematic? I would call them controversial, and of mature content. What you do on the internet is your business but the intended audience for all of the art I highlighted below is 18+ adults, in my opinion, so enter at own risk. These have all had a profound and long-lasting impact on me.
- Salad Fingers: This animated show gave me nightmares. Topics include insanity, self harm, depression, suicide.
youtube
- Zoo station: The Story of Christiane F. An auto-biography. I prefer the book over the movie. Topics include: taking hard drugs & sex work while underaged, self harm, and death.
This book helped me understand my own addictive tendencies and be more mindful of them. I also never took any drugs, not even alcohol or cigarettes, because I felt that by reading the book I had experienced what it was like. The book describes the experiences very vividly. The good, the bad, and the ugly, so to speak.
- Oz. A TV show. Includes a variety of topics, such as prison, concepts of right and wrong, power struggles, male abuse, rape, religion, homophobia, racism, drug use, murder.
- Philadelphia. A movie. It’s about HIV/AIDS, court, racism and death.
- Game of Thrones. A TV show and book series, which the show is based on. Topics include war, violence, incest, feuds, revenge, emotional & physical abuse, murder, manipulation.
- Jessica Jones. A TV show. Focuses on the idea of consent and manipulation. Also includes death.
- 300. A movie. Topics include death, war, revenge, rape, being set in one’s ways and thereby causing more damage than the good or justice one hopes to attain.
- Spartacus. TV show. Lots of sex scenes. Topics include slavery, being used & abused, death, physical pain, infidelity and loyalty VS disloyalty. (Also includes real life death if you’re looking at interviews, BTS stuff etc)
- The Mists of Avalon. A book (also a movie). Topics include incest, magick, scewed perception of reality, manipulation, death, war, loyalty, insanity. Similar to Game of Thrones, except it’s based on the legend of Arthur Pendragon, takes place in somewhat historically accurate Wales & England and doesn’t contain any dragons.
- there’s a lot of music out there as well that tells difficult stories. What popped into my head is Stan by Eminem & Dido. Topics include obsession, parasocial relationships, death, abuse.
youtube
- Fish Tank. A movie. Topics include underaged person falling in love with adult. Infidelity. People are human and make mistakes.
- Requiem for a Dream. Movie. Topics include heavy drug use, insomnia, racism, psychosis, sex work, self-harm.
- The Crow. A movie. Topics include rape, revenge, murder, incest. (Includes real life death if you’re looking at interviews & BTS stuff)
- Mysterious Skin. A movie. Topics include drug use, sex work, alien abduction, and child molestation.
- Dallas Buyers Club. Topics include drug use, sex work, death and HIV/AIDS.
- If These Walls Could Talk. A movie about pregnancy, abortion, and death.
- The Color Purple. A movie. Topics include religion/faith, rape, racism, incest, genital mutilation, jealousy, being queer and black in early 20th century America.
- The Boondocks. Animated TV show. Topics include racism, bigotry, breaking the law, growing up, sex work, degradation of women, social commentary, prison, drugs.
- Fight Club. A movie about capitalism, vandalism, mob mentality, and mental illness.
- Blue Is The Warmest Color. A French movie about lesbian love and infidelity. Includes sex scenes that were so intimate it was debated
- Pin. A movie. Topics include schizophrenia, abortion, masturbation, and attempted murder.
- American History X. A movie about neo-nazi cult, white supremacy, racism, in-group mentality, grooming, prison, rape, murder, and American politics. (This is almost 30 years old and still very relevant today.)
- Girl, Interrupted. A movie about mental illness, including schizophrenia, BPD, OCD, anorexia, includes suicide, and plays mainly in a mental institution.
- Patch Adams. A controversial yet uplifting movie, I find. Topics include suicidal thoughts, mental illness, humor, naivety, murder, compassion and spirituality.
- American Horror Story. A TV series. I haven’t watched all of them yet. Includes topics of good and evil, the supernatural, murder, abuse.
- All In The Family. TV show from the 70s/80s. Explores bigotry in all its different aspects.
- finally, this talk by Rowan Atkinson, on free speech and censorship:
youtube
PS: one thing I believe to be controversial but haven’t watched yet is Masters of Sex. A TV show.
Honorable mention: The Golden Girls and Queer As Folk.
i recommend being a fan of 1 problematic piece of media at least once in your life
