Pulp Ann Arbor reviews Theatre Nova’s Follies in Concert
Pulp Ann Arbor reviews Theatre Nova’s Follies in Concert
Well, this is about the nicest review anyone (who isn’t my mother) has ever written about anything I’ve done on stage. “Roy Sexton is outstanding as Buddy. He has some of the most complex songs exploring the most complex emotions. His takes on ‘The Right Girl’ and ‘Buddy’s Blues’ are vocally strong and emotionally engaging as he conjures up a dialogue with his girlfriend while still yearning for…

Last Halloween in Austin, Shakespeare in the Dark: Macbeth took the stage at the historic and allegedly haunted Driskill Hotel. Adding to the spookiness—and giving special power to its sound designer, Emily Duncan Wilson—the show was performed in pitch blackness, with the audience seated in the middle of moving actors and four audio speakers...
When asked about her proudest moment in the show, Wilson said, “One of the stabbings had to be especially ‘stabby’ and gruesome.” The challenge in depicting such violence aurally, she said, is that you want it to be “not so gruesome that it will take away from the show, but just gruesome enough to be believable.”
She ended up finding a sound clip called something like “food squeeze with someone cutting toast,” which mixed the sound of a cringey crunch alongside the oozing sound of a bloody stabbing.

J2 NashCon 2018 Main Panel
J2 panel starts with a “Good afternoon, Nashville” after the boys do their intro jump!
Jared: We love Nashville. Jensen: Like four people clapped
Fans started shouting where they were from so Jared is singing the States and Jensen is so done lmao. He does the “Hey y’all” wave with Jared when Jared gets to Texas in the song :P
Jensen is confused by a question (I think) and Jared is getting clarification.
Jared: Do you look at people on set? Jensen: Not directly. Because they're not allowed to look at me.
Jensen: Jared does an incredible moonwalk. Jared’s version of the moonwalk is slowly walking across the stage with giant steps/jumping acting like he’s on the moon lol
Happy laughing boys :)
Jensen pretending to sleep during Jared’s long answer.
Referring to a young fan, Jared: She was a child when she started watching. You’re old! (to Jensen lol). Jensen: Thanks! Jared to Jensen: What year were you on Days of Our Lives? Jensen: ‘97. Jared: She wasn’t born yet!
Jared: I think Sam would rather die than have Dean die. Jensen says same for Dean, vice versa.
Jensen if he was on a road trip he would put on an AC/DC track
Smiley boys keep teasing each other lol
Fan to Jared: I was so distracted by your hair... Jensen feels the same :P
J2 talk about supporting their children in their future job choices.
Jared looking for a rim shot lol!
Jensen just made a Back to the Future reference.
Jensen acts out that time a bowl of blood prop was falling and Jared leaped away screaming lol (on the gag reel)
J2 talking about the Andy Warhol-esque pictures from The French Mistake.
Jared: I have that picture of Sam riding a horse from The French Mistake. Jensen: It’s on your headboard. Jared: How would you know? Jensen: Ask Gen. Audience: OOOHHHHHHH Jensen to the audience: She told me!
Fan asks if Sam went to confession in s13 like he did in Sacrifice in s8, what would his greatest sin be? Jared says that Sam would still say that his greatest sin would be when Sam fails Dean *cries*
Jensen thought “bae” was just people being too lazy to type/write/say baby. Jared explains to Jensen what it means.
Jensen’s pet peeve when people texting him is when they write out thx. “HOW HARD IS IT TO WRITE OUT THANKS?”
Boys still cracking each other up lol :)
J2 asked: 500 years in the past or future? Both lifted their mics simultaneously and said "Future!"
Jared says he wouldn’t want to live in the past because of the intolerance for women, minorities, LGBTQ, etc. Jared wants to live in a world where we progress towards equality. Jared: My jam is everyone being equal, regardless of who they love or if they are a man or a woman. Jared said Gen liked simpler times but Jared’s glad that today we’re moving towards acceptance.
Jensen turns to Jared after being asked what he uses for hair care and doing chin hands lol.
Jared admitted that he uses hair growing shampoo (Nioxin) because he thought he was going to go bald, but he just has a big forehead :P
J2 are making fun of Trump’s hair flapping in the wind lmao!
If they were on Sesame Street, Jared would play Big Bird. Jensen: If Jared is gonna play Big Bird, I wanna play Oscar the Grouch.
Jared just called Jensen a hot dad.
Their first cars? Jared: ‘69 Camaro. Jensen: Four-wheel Nissan Pathfinder two-door.
Will they continue acting after SPN? I think Jensen said yes, maybe directing when not acting. Jared: After SPN, I’d like to get a call from him or someone and do a small part in something. When SPN is over he wants to spend a lot less time in front of the cameras and a lot more time “in front of my kiddos.”
Asked about experiences with real hauntings or ghosts (last question?). Jared tells the story of the haunted hotel in Austin - the Driskill Hotel. Jensen talks about filming into a haunted location and he goes through the basement to get to lunch quicker. Says he feels someone watching him and he turns around: “I dare you!” *walks faster* lol
Rich comes on stage: I’m sure that ghost has a scary story, too. “One time I was minding my own business and Jensen Ackles yelled at me.”
(No more tweets after that, so we’ll have to wait for the videos for the rest! ;))

7 reasons why you should not miss Austin and Boston Ghost tour
7 reasons why you should not miss Austin and Boston Ghost tour
In our childhood, we used to hear many Ghost stories and spooky stories. And still, we love that stories. Mysterious noises that wake you up at night bother you ever in your childhood? Does the basement or attic give you a sinking feeling of dread? Do afraid of the dark? And you still love adventure?
Then you must know the scariest trip of Austin and Boston Ghost Tour. You'll hear stories about the ghosts of the past and present, and you'll even get to see some of the places where they're said to haunt you.
You'll also get to see some of the most famous landmarks in both cities, which are said to be haunted by the ghosts of those who died there.
On the Austin ghost tour, you'll visit some of the most haunted places in the city, including the Driskill Hotel, Congress Avenue Bridge, and the State Capitol Building. You'll hear stories of ghost sightings, eerie experiences, and even tragic deaths that have occurred in these locations.
1 City of the Dead
Did you know that Austin was once known as the "City of the Dead"? This is because the city was built on top of an old cemetery. Over the years, many of the graves have been disturbed and the bodies exhumed, which is said to have created a hotbed for ghosts and other paranormal activity.
2 Driskill Hotel
The Driskill Hotel is one of the most historic and well-known hotels in Austin, Texas. The hotel was built in 1886 and has been visited by many famous guests over the years, including Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and George W. Bush. The Driskill is also said to be haunted by the ghost of a young girl named Emily, who died in the hotel in 1887.
The Congress Avenue Bridge is an iconic landmark in Austin, Texas. The bridge spans the Colorado River and is a popular spot for pedestrians and cyclists. The Congress Avenue Bridge is also home to the largest urban bat colony in North America. Every evening, hundreds of bats emerge from under the bridge to hunt for insects.
3 The Congress Avenue Bridge
The Congress Avenue Bridge is a must-see for any visitor to Austin. The bridge is a beautiful example of Art Deco architecture. The bats are a fascinating natural phenomenon. And the views of the city from the bridge are simply stunning.
4 The Texas State Capitol
The Texas State Capitol is one of the most iconic buildings in the state, and it’s also said to be one of the most haunted. The Capitol is home to several ghosts, and the Capitol ghost tour is the perfect way to learn about them. The tour starts in the basement, where you’ll learn about the Capitol’s most famous ghost, the Lady in Black. The Lady in Black is said to be the spirit of a woman who died in the Capitol fire of 1881. She’s often seen in the basement, and she’s said to be responsible for the lights flickering and the doors slamming shut. You’ll also hear about the ghost of Sam Houston, who is said to haunt the Senate chamber. Houston was a senator from Texas, and he’s said to haunt the chamber because he was never able to pass any of his bills.
5 Austin Haunted Pub Crawl Tour.
If you're looking for a spooky good time this Halloween, look no further than the Austin Haunted Pub Crawl Tour. This pub crawl takes you to some of the most haunted bars and pubs in Austin, all while providing you with plenty of drinks to keep you warm (and maybe even a little scared). One of the highlights of the pub crawl is the Driskill Hotel, which is said to be one of the most haunted places in all of Texas. The hotel is said to be home to the ghost of Colonel Jesse Driskill, who died in the hotel in 1887. Guests have reported seeing his ghost roaming the halls, and some say they've even felt his presence in their room. Other haunted hotspots on the pub crawl include the Pecan Street Brewing Company, which is said to be home to the ghost of a former employee, and the Little Woodrow's on Sixth Street, which is said to be haunted by the ghost of a woman who died in a fire there in the 1800s. So whether you're looking for a spooky good time, or just a fun night out with friends, the Austin Haunted Pub Crawl Tour is sure to please.
The Boston Ghost Tour is one of the most popular and well-known ghost tours in the country. Many people come to Boston specifically to take this tour, and it is easy to see why. The tour takes you through some of the most haunted locations in the city, and the guides are experts on the history and legends of the ghosts that are said to inhabit these places.
6 Boston Ghost Tour Pub Crawl
The Boston Ghost Tour Pub Crawl is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. And for good reason! The tour takes you to some of the most haunted bars and pubs in Boston, all while providing plenty of opportunities to drink along the way. Of course, one of the best parts of the Boston Ghost Tour Pub Crawl is the opportunity to drink at some of the best bars in the city. You'll get to try local beers and spirits, and you may even find a new favorite drink along the way.But even if you're not a big drinker, the Boston Ghost Tour Pub Crawl is still a can't-miss experience.
In Boston, you'll visit the USS Constitution Museum which is said to be haunted by the ghost of a sailor who died in a shipwreck. You'll also visit the Boston Common, which is said to be haunted by the ghost of a woman who was hanged there.
Media liability insurance is a specialized type of liability insurance that protects the media professional and their employer against lawsuits, judgments, and settlements (some may also cover the media professional's heirs). It can cover a wide range of risks.
7 The Buried Ground
The Buried Ground is located in the heart of Boston's historic downtown. It is surrounded by modern buildings and busy streets, but it feels like a world away. The cemetery is small and intimate, and the headstones are close together. Many of the headstones are worn with age, and some are barely legible.
The Buried Ground is a fascinating place to explore. The headstones tell the stories of the people who lived and died in Boston centuries ago. The cemetery is also home to a number of rare and unusual graves, including the grave of Cotton Mather, one of the most influential ministers in colonial America.
The Austin and Boston Ghosttour is a great way to learn about the history of both cities, and the ghosts that are said to haunt them. If you're looking for a fun and spooky way to spend a few hours, then the Nightly ghost tour is definitely for you.

Abuse of Power and the Legacy of Jesse Lacey
Emily Driskill, writing on Medium: My biggest fear now is that Brand New will tour again in 2018. Quite frankly, in any other job, in any other industry — Jesse would have been fired and blacklisted. But this is the music industry and Brand New clearly doesn’t have a fucking HR department. […] How do we change any of this? I know holding yourself and others accountable is paramount. I know supporting Women Of Color and LGBTQ artists in the music and touring communities is of the utmost importance. I know boycotting or picketing shows of artists who don’t speak out against abuse of power in the industry is necessary. --- Please consider supporting us so we can keep bringing you stories like this one. ◎ https://chorus.fm/linked/abuse-of-power-and-the-legacy-of-jesse-lacey/

Best Weddings 2017 :: Romantic Winter Wedding in Texas :: Emily & Derek
We find it so refreshing to see a few winter weddings making our best weddings of 2017, and this moody Texas affair is no exception! See more of this gorgeous wedding photographed by James Moes below!
If you’ve read our recent post on whether or not to do a first look and you’re still on the fence, this couple’s amazing photos might just help you decide! (I honestly cannot get over how excited today’s sweet groom Derek is in this picture, and believe me, you’ll want to see the rest of the of this very special moment, so be sure to read on.) This couple’s oh-so-visible love for each other helped them to create a day that was warm, meaningful and personal, both for them and for every one of their five hundred guests! And it was also pretty darn gorgeous – Emily & Derek took full advantage of the romance of wintertime and included dark green ferns, soft blush and lilac florals, plenty of candlelight and one seriously incredible oversized Christmas tree!
Did you include any traditions in your wedding? I did! I followed the ‘something old’ traditions. So my something old and something borrowed were my two gold and diamond bracelets. One of them was given to me by my mom, which had been given to her on her own wedding day by her mother. The other identical bracelet was given by my mom to my sister on her wedding day. Something new was my lace veil and something blue was my garter (which was tossed at the reception!)
PS – these may just be two of the most darling child attendants we’ve ever seen!
Getting ready on your wedding day isn’t only about all the girly prep – it always makes me so excited to see elegant photos of the boys getting ready, too! These shots of Derek and his groomsmen before the ceremony are so Mad Men, and completely timeless.
That First Look
What advice do you have for other couples in the midst of planning a wedding? And is there anything you would do differently? Honestly, there’s not much I would change, besides my general approach to wedding planning. It’s easy to lose yourself in the details and worries of the next thing to organise, without taking the time to stop and remind yourself of the purpose behind what you are trying to achieve. Some woman desire a fairy tale wedding, and I am definitely one of them! But if you’re not careful and get swept up in the details and logistics, you’ll find yourself unprepared on your wedding day for what it’s all about – you marrying your person. With that being said, enjoy it all, be creative, drink lots of champagne, have fun at the events leading up to the wedding, and don’t forget to cherish the one you’ll be standing with at the altar.
Emily says of their twenty-five person wedding party: “it was full of dear friends and family! Derek and I asked each other’s siblings to be in our wedding, because when we considered the future, we felt that it was important to share the most treasured memory of our lives together with the people who would always be there! So although our wedding party was insanely large, we enjoyed every moment with the ones closest to us and have loved seeing them all together in our beautiful photos.” (And we just have to add that if you’re planning a winter wedding, don’t feel like you have to be restricted to deep, moody hues. The palest blush and muted gray Emily’s bridesmaids are wearing look gorgeous in the soft wintery light!)
What was your favorite thing about your wedding? I loved that our ceremony was in the evening. It gave our whole wedding ‘day’ an elegant and magical feel, especially during the holiday season when the city is all lit up, everyone is bundled up in their warm coats and anxiously awaiting the moment we all get to unwind and celebrate!
The Ceremony
Why did you choose this location for your ceremony? Austin has always been one of my favorite cities to explore and spend time in. While studying at Texas A&M University, I spent a summer living in downtown Austin doing an internship. I fell in love with the city all over again and dreamt of one day having an urban wedding right in the middle of the hill country! I grew up in Midland and Derek’s family is from Sugar Land, so conveniently enough Austin made for a great half way marker between the two. Central Christian Church was my number one pick when looking for downtown churches for the ceremony. Originally, it wasn’t available the weekend we wanted it but our incredible wedding planner, Melanie of Mayhair Design, made our dream happen!
Your ceremony in three words. Life-giving, memorable, elegant.
What was your ceremony music? Processional: To My Knees by Hillsong Young & Free Worship Song: Faithful to the End by Bethel Music Communion: Be Thou My Vision Recessional: You Make My Dreams by Daryl Hall and John Oates
Emily says “all of the people we chose to sing at our ceremony were dear friends of ours and not only beyond talented, but also have a marvelous destiny in their lives to go places with their music.”
Who officiated your ceremony? How did you choose him/her? Tyler Hardy, who is the lead pastor of Antioch Community Church in College Station, Texas, where Derek and I attend church. We chose Tyler to officiate our wedding because of his character and integrity in all aspects of his life. Tyler and his wife, Ashlee, have been committed and faithful in walking alongside us throughout the course of our relationship and still continue to challenge, encourage, and inspire us towards loving God, loving each other, and loving the people around us. Derek and I will always be thankful for the impact this couple has on our lives and for offering us the sweetest gift of all – their friendship! Plus their little girl, Evelyn, was our sweet flower girl.
How did you go about planning your ceremony? I had a very specific vision when it came down to planning the flow of the ceremony. It was important to Derek and I both that our wedding ceremony paint a clear picture of Jesus Christ and His Church as clearly as we could! We wanted our pastor, Tyler Hardy, to reference this as often as he saw fit and for our first act as a married couple to be taking the Lord’s Supper together. Derek and I have been on a crazy journey throughout the course of our relationship and saw it fitting to make sure Jesus received all the glory and honor for bringing us to the altar to make a life-long promise to never leave each other’s side. We wanted the worship to be life-giving and to refresh the heart and soul of every listener!
The Reception
Why did you choose this location for your reception? Initially I imagined our reception outdoors on a grassy lawn underneath an elegant tent, with chandeliers and candles. However when we took into consideration the unpredictability of Texas winter weather, we started looking for an indoor venue that would create the same feel of the reception I had pictured. The Driskill Hotel‘s incredible ballroom brought some Texas history to our reception. (And I have to say when we were given a tour of the space, accompanied by complimentary mimosas and sweets from the hotel’s bakery, we were sold!)
How would you describe your reception? Romantic and moody with beautiful shades of white and nude, along with hints of peach, mauve, antique lavender, and burgundy, mixed with textured foliage. The evening was sophisticated and elegant, yet also completely magical.
What inspired you when you were planning your wedding? I’ve always loved the moody colors of the Pacific Northwest and feel as though those deeper shades give off a warmth that is particularly lovely in the winter time. I was never the type of girl that started planning her wedding at a young age or building an endless Pinterest board, but I knew I wanted to get married in the winter the exact feeling and atmosphere I wanted to create.
What was your first dance song? Father/daughter or mother/son dance? First Dance: Heaven’s Knife by Josh Garrels Father/Daughter: I Loved Her First by Heartland Mother/Son: My Wish by Rascal Flatts
What was your favorite moment or part of the reception? InsideOut made our reception an absolute blast! The entire feel of the night would not have been the same without them performing. They were able to set a romantic, elegant tone during the cocktail hour as guests arrived, then build the excitement throughout the evening, right up to our departure!
What type of cake or dessert did you serve? We served both a Bride’s Cake and a Groom’s Cake. The Bride’s Cake served 250, and included four tiers: the bottom two tiers were Italian Cream; the second tier was Wedding White with Strawberry and the top tier was Almond Vanilla with Vanilla Buttercream. The entire cake was covered in deep marbled buttercream (a mixture of light grey and light peach) with flecks of gold. // The Groom’s Cake was a lumber jack cake of Valrhona chocolate with slated caramel filling and chocolate bark.
If you’ve been thinking even for one minute about a Christmas time wedding and all the warmth and fun that time of year brings, I’m just going to leave you with these last two photos…

Source: http://udallasathletics.com/sports/sball/2016-17/releases/20170423yoalmo
IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas softball team swept a doubleheader Sunday and earned a series victory over Austin College. The Crusaders started conference play at Trinity with a 3-1 series win, and cap the regular season over a league opponent with the other 3-1 series result of the spring. Overall on the eight-game home stretch, Dallas went 5-3 and won five-of-six contests. In all five victories, the Crusaders pounded double-digit hit totals, including a season-high (15) in the first game. In game two, UD erased a five-run hole early and would score nine runs. Three of games in this series had the victor posting nine runs.
In between the contests, Dallas recognized five players graduating in May. Forming the quintet were: Alexandria Compte (Houston, Texas), Avery Finch (Jamul, Calif.), Allison Kotlar (Edna, Texas), Katie Lee (Houston, Texas), and Christina Torre (Novato, Calif.).
GAME 1 INFORMATION
Team Scores: Austin College (8), University of Dallas (12)
Team Records: Austin (8-31, 3-20 SCAC), Dallas (13-26, 8-15 SCAC)
Pitcher Records: W) Galvan (8-11), L) Wright (1-13)
NOTABLE STATISTICS
- Dallas scored a season-high 12 runs. The Crusaders have broken double figures in run column for times – all in April. Three of these games occurred during the homestand with a pair of 11-run wins over Centenary College.
- The team clubbed 15 hits, which bested the previous marks of 13 on two occasions against University of Scranton (Mar. 16) and Southwestern University (Apr. 1).
- Melanie Savala (Bryan, Texas) went 2-for-4 and led the run production with a personal-best four. The cleanup hitter posted three ribbies at Trinity University this season and once in 2016. Savala also tripled, scored a run, and stole a base.
- Jade Miller (Plano, Texas) was perfect at the plate (3-3) with her fifth game of the year to have a trio of base knocks. She also crossed home just as many times for a career-high and stole two bases.
- Finch (2-4) and Compte (2-3) rounded out the other multiple hit performers for Dallas. Finch snagged 100 career bases and had a game-high three. Compte drove in a pair and was the only Crusader besides Savala with more than one.
- The Crusaders continued swiping bases with six on the game. It matched the most recent game on Saturday to tie for third by the squad on the spring.
- Lee started for her 120th appearance in her career and went 2.1 innings. Lauren Galvan (Bryan, Texas) earned the win with 3.2 innings of relief. She allowed two runs (1 earned) and yielded six hits.
- Austin College pounded 17 hits, with doubles by Lauren Mara and Courtney Gonzales. Cassidy McDaris smacked a home run as part of a 5-for-5 game.
- The top four hitters in the lineup were 13-for-19 and drove in six. Emily Low and McDaris were the number two and four hitters and tied a team-high two RBI. Gonzalez was the other player with multiple RBI and matched the duo above.
HOW IT HAPPENED
There was plenty of offense throughout this game. The 'Roos jumped in front with an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Three-of-four stolen bases by Austin College occurred within the first five batters at the plate and one out in the game. McDaris ripped a single to left field and scored Beth Massey.
The Crusaders answered with a huge six-spot in their first trip to the plate and batted around the lineup. Finch singled on a bunt and stole second base immediately to give 100 total for the all-time leader in the program. A walk to Mackenzie Tano (Wylie, Texas) and bunt single for Miller loaded the bases. Savala cleared them with a triple to right center. After one out was made, Torre reached on a fielder's choice and advanced to second as Savala drew a throw home but retreated back to third safely. Compte clobbered an RBI single to right. Torre and Compte completed the scoring by coming in on wild pitches.
Both teams got a pair of runs in the second inning. AC benefited from its second three-hit inning of the game, which included back-to-back singles by Low and Ashley Mayorga to plate runs.
Dallas found a way to get another pair of runs and increase the advantage back to five (8-3). Finch started by reaching on an error. After advancing to second and stealing third, the center fielder scored on an opposite field single from the left-handed batter, Miller. The right fielder eventually rounded the diamond and scored the other run on a passed ball.
The visitors got back in the game in the third with three runs. McDaris led off the team's highest scoring inning with a long ball over the right center wall just left of the scoreboard. Back-back singles and a walk led to a pitching change. A force out at home got the second out but a single by Massey and walk accounted for nipping the margin to two (8-6).
There was another three-run inning in this game, and the Crusaders claimed it in the fourth to match a season-high 11 runs at the time. UD punched five base hits, which were highlighted by doubles from Tano and Driskill. Driskill's two-bagger drove in a run after Savala had the first RBI prior to her. Compte etched a two-out RBI two batters later with a ball that hugged the third base line and would hit off the bag.
Gonzalez pulled the 'Roos within an 11-8 deficit in the sixth on a two-RBI double. Dallas responded with an insurance run in the bottom of the inning. Tera Espinosa (Caldwell, Texas) doubled and Britin Strobel (Parker, Colo.) singled her in.
GAME 2 INFORMATION
Team Scores: Austin College (7), University of Dallas (9)
Team Records: Austin (8-32, 3-21 SCAC), Dallas (15-26, 9-15 SCAC)
Pitcher Records: W) Galvan (9-11), L) Herrera (4-16 S) Martin (1)
NOTABLE STATISTICS
- The Crusaders posted 13 hits for 28 combined on the afternoon.
- Seven of those hits were for extra bases, including four doubles which was another season-best.
- Allie Driskill (Houston, Texas) boasted a 4-for-4 day with two doubles and a triple. The freshman's career day at the dish included two runs scored and an RBI to give her one in all games this weekend slate.
- Tano (2-3) and Miller (2-4) had the other multiple hit games. Tano doubled, scored, and stole a base while Miller crossed home and stole two times for each category.
- Lety Morales (Fontana, Calif.) tied a game-high and personal-best three RBI. Morales tripled to post her fourth multi-RBI game out of seven contest to drive in a run in the rookie campaign.
- Stephanie Cervantes (Temecula, Calif.) belted her team-leading third home run and Savala added two RBI for the team's other player with more than one.
- UD posted nine runs-batted-in in each triumph today. Overall the team had five stolen bases to reflect 25 this series.
- Galvan earned her third win of the series with six innings thrown. Emily Martin (San Jose, Calif.) locked down her first collegiate save and the team's second of the season, with both occurring on the homestand.
- McDaris had another team-high in hits with four. She doubled for the team's lone extra base hit. Mara went 3-for-3, while Mayorga, Kat Wright, and Gonzales added two-hit performances.
- Taylor Van Kirk and Mayorga drove in three runs apiece.
- Jordan Proctor tossed 2.2 innings of relief. She allowed a run on four hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both team's used five-run innings to bolster another high-scoring game. In this series, the team's combined for 61 runs with the home side etching 36 of them. It was the 'Roos that appeared ready to go in front big for the second day in a row of a latter contest. The guests started with a five-run second to lead by as much for the second time in such games. A quartet of hits along with an error helped set up an inning headlined by Mayorga's bases-clearing triple for three RBI.
Kotlar got Dallas on the board in the bottom of the second with an RBI single to left field. Driskill scored and had started things with a single to right field for her first hit of a perfect result at the dish.
In the game's other five-run inning, the bottom third; Driskill started the scoring with an RBI that plated Miller. She had skied a pitch in the infield that fell in near the pitcher for a double. Baylee Leifester (Belton, Texas) was hit by pitch to load the bags. Ashley Nicholson (Reno, Nev.) walked to force in Savala right before Morales cleared everyone with her lone hit for three bases to left center. The Crusaders had come back to lead 6-5 and never trailed the rest of the day.
Savala doubled in the fourth to plate Tano and Miller who kicked of the frame with a double and single, respectively. Miller stole to get a second runner into scoring position. Cervantes went yard in the next inning to cap UD's scoring. The round-tripper tied the sophomore's total from 2016 with three overall.
The 'Roos did get two runs back in the sixth from Van Kirk driving in two. It was the fourth single in a row. In their final turn to hit, Austin College made two fast outs before back-to-back singles brought the go-ahead run to bat. Martin induced a popup to Driskill, as the team's best hitter sealed the game with her glove to end the regular season with a pair of wins.
UP NEXT
Dallas heads to Seguin, Texas, where Texas Lutheran University will host the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). For the third straight year, the Crusaders will face Schriener University on Friday. Dallas is the fifth seed. Click here for information on the tournament.
