I think another frustrating thing about the season 5 finale as someone who’s been following this show since 2016 is that the very premise of ml—sentimonster adrien aside, though certainly in addition—is that it’s nature was always one of impending angst. it loomed in the underbelly that Adrien and Marinette would be hurt when the truth came out—of their identities, of Gabriel’s, and of Emelie. the premise didn’t leave room for adrien to live happily ever after with the mother who should be dead from her hubris. the show didn’t make us care about Emelie apart from her source of grief for Adrien, and her resurrection feels uncanny and undeserved. the emphasis has always been that, despite the tragedies and hurt, adrien and marinette would always be there for each other and make it through alright. because they are partners. they were not partners in this finale—hell, they aren’t even living in the same reality.
the lesson of human arrogance (fullmetal alchemist style) is a cautionary tale—not a fairy tale. and if this “happy” ending is genuine, and we’re to accept with smiling faces that Lila is the new baddie, Adrien has his mom again, Gabriel is remembered as a hero, and Adrien/Marinette can be together amidst deception, then it’s going to severely misdirect the remainder of the show and miss every beat with which the premise wooed its audience since the beginning.

“The Cia-Chair designed for plants first and humans second” by Alice Hultqvist, Emelie Sjöberg and Linnea Nilsson
https://www.yankodesign.com/2024/03/21/this-chair-allows-plants-to-grow-on-it-and-puts-nature-before-human-needs/
Critical Planet-Centric Design: The Chia-Chair prioritizes plant life over human comfort, symbolizing a shift towards respecting nature. The idea is to let the plants be the main users of the chair, and humans are just visitors. The designers emphasize that humans should approach it with respect, recognizing that it’s a living thing. They acknowledged that throughout the last century, humans have prioritized their needs at the expense of nature and wildlife, leading to severe consequences. The Chia-Chair, therefore, serves as a symbolic gesture, aiming to redress the balance by placing the plant at the forefront and demanding reciprocity from its human users.
2. “Aufstehhilfen” der Wiener Linien
Hostile Design: In general “hostile design” refers to objects in public spaces that tend to disadvantage specific vulnerable groups. It refers to the design of objects in public spaces that, through their design, materials, or composition, enable certain actions while preventing others. What's unique about them is that there doesn't necessarily need to be a direct sanction; rather, the nature of the objects or space dictates how we can or cannot act. For example, Wienerlinien has a metal bracket in the middle of the benches, which leads to preventing someone from lying there and eventually sleeping. 3. “DRM chair” by Les Sugos
Th DRM chair is a piece of furniture that self-destructs after 8 uses. After eight people sat on it, a lick of smoke starts to come from the joints. The joints then melt down and the chair falls into a pile of parts, The DRM chair was created over the course of 48 hours for a global project called “The Deconstruction”. The Deconstruction is described as "a game about re-thinking the world as we know it, taking it apart, making a few adjustments, then putting it back together a little awesome-er." Teams participate by thinking up and building projects in a short time frame. I find it quite interesting to think about how it would be that Furniture only has a limited amount of uses.
4. “The Uncomfortable” by Katerina Kamprani
A collection of everyday objects that have been intentionally redesigned to be impractical. The works intend to challenge assumptions about the functionality and purpose of common objects, and to encourage us to rethink our relationship with the world around us. Its not really furniture but I count in the same category of like everyday objects, like furniture is.
5. “Disposture chair” by Jessica Ross, Emily Wallace and Cathrynn Healy
The curved sections of the chair make it impossible for users to find a comfortable seating position, whether sitting on the chair, or resting on the floor and leaning against it. The team researched the long-term impact of prolonged periods of sitting, often experienced by office workers, but initially struggled to find a solution.
"In experimenting with different bodily angles and shapes we found it difficult to come up with the 'perfect' sitting angle," Ross said. After coming to the conclusion that "there is no such thing as a comfortable chair", the team decided to create a seat that would be deliberately awkward for people to sit in. "By forcing the user into this 'C slump' right from the moment they sit down allows the user to recognize how uncomfortable and damaging it can be to the body," Ross explained. I like the approach of critically rethinking and making people aware of sitting too much, like we all do, based on jobs etc.

Their normal babysitter has been unreliable since she got her braces off (actual reason), so the mom hired a friend of the usual babysitter: Anna. We see…

so I watched Emelie
Tumblr media
Better than I expected! It’s pretty unique and a solid horror movie.
It has some uncomfortable themes in it but they really add to the creepiness/weirdness/unsettling vibe this movie has. Emelie has plenty of suspense too, which I loved.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend it to other horror fans! Not so much spooky as it is eerie. I give it a 7/10

I don’t know about anon but I’d love to see your rankings of Sofia’s Nobel dresses
Sofia nobel prize dress anon here- I’d love to see your rankings!
Well if you insist hahaha. Thank you both for asking! So the thing I did on Instagram was just the Nobel Prize Ceremony on 10th. The event on 11th is the King’s Dinner for the Laureates which I didn’t include because it would have gone on for way too long haha.
6) The pink Ida Sjöstedt gown from 2014. I usually like her stuff but the fabric looks cheap and it looks to me like something a teenage girl would pick out for her school dance
Tumblr media
5) The red Zetterberg Couture gown from 2017. This is the inflatable tube man dress. I think I’ve said more than enough on why I hate this gown hahaha
Tumblr media
4) The green Dagmar gown from 2016. I like that she tried something different but it’s a bit stiff and shapeless - it doesn’t look that well constructed even though I’m sure it is
Tumblr media
3) The blue Emelie Janrell from 2019. Again I appreciate her doing something a bit different but it feels a bit informal for the Nobels and the proportion on the sleeves is a bit off
Tumblr media
2) The pink ida Lanto from 2017. It’s a nice gown. Very appropriate for the Nobels and very quintessential princess but it’s slightly dull
Tumblr media
1) The black Oscar de la Renta in 2015. I love this gown. It feels grand but still has her sense of style, I think the neckline and the pattern on the skirt are really interesting to the eye but unfortunately it’s just really hard to photograph and she had to hold it up to get down the stairs so most photos don’t show it in its full glory

As their parents head out for a date in the city, the three young Thompson children – Jacob, Christopher, and Sally – immediately take to their new babysitter Anna (Sarah Bolger, THE LAZARUS EFFECT), who seems like a dream come true: she’s sweet, fun, and lets them do things that break all of their parents’ rules. But as the night creeps along and Anna’s interactions with them take on a more sinister tone, the kids slowly realize that their caretaker may not be who she claims to be. Soon it’s up to big brother Jacob to protect his siblings from the increasingly nefarious intentions of a very disturbed woman whose weapon is trust, and whose target is innocence.
Featuring a tour-de-force performance from Bolger and its three young leads, EMELIE is a multidimensional, uncomfortably tense thriller that asks the question: how can you put an end to horror after you’ve already let it in
