So, I promised myself that 2025 would be the year I actually learned to play the various Warhammer games (rather than just painting cool minis) and, as a new version of Underworlds is out, I decided to start there.

Introducing The Jaws of Itzl 🥳 Kro-Jax the Aegis (in blue), So-Kar (in red), Ro-Tak the Guardian (in green) and Sotek's Venomites. Very fun to paint 😁 tried to make the scales completely distinct while still making them look broadly uniform. No idea how successful I was but I like them anyway 🤣

Roll on Thursday! Time to learn how to play! 🥳

Jaws of itzl WIP

For something a bit different... started painting the Jaws of itzl warhammer underworlds squad! (from embergard). Still a lot of work left to do but they're starting to come together

It mentions these Saurus were part of a largescale culling of Skaven (gotta trigger those rats' PTSD from Lustria), but were separated from the main army, trapped by cave-in in Emberguard's ruins.

Glad to know the Seraphon are active. Makes me hopeful for the next Seraphon tome.

Yesterday one of our works was shown in Hang Out and Embergard. Lately we have been in a very depressed mental state, the front is approaching the city, and it seems that nothing bright and joyful awaits us ahead. This video warmed our hearts. Thanks to the Warhammer Community for this gift, just in time for the birthday of the author of these miniatures!

Port Promise . Maker’s Space  / Embergarde - Hannah House

"Oh Sergej? He is just someone I met the first day..no no..you don't have  to come over. He is a nice man..Yes ..he really is...Don’t worry.”   It would be the worst if she wanted to come here , she would probably tie me up and drag me back to Timbergarde.  

Auntie’s voice dragged me from my thoughts as she went on how concerned she was about me and she was really interested in Sergej, asked me questions and warned me not to trust him or any other male in Port Promise.  

"Listen Auntie...I need to go. I will call you soon. Don’t worry about me, Say greetings to Merlyn and Litriel.." I finished  the call and put my phone away. I looked at the pretty view over Port Promise. It was still work in progress but once we would be ready this would be a nice ecologic, green place to live. 

In Timbergarde Hannah put the phone away and opened her laptop. Few clicks at the Simexpress Train Company’s site and she had tickets to Port Promise. She didn’t trust her niece, not one bit, something was going on.

Another Death aligned warband completed 🥳

This time, we have a gaggle of ghouls AKA The Grymwatch from the Flesheater Courts 😁 I was aiming for a "bruised corpse" colour scheme and I'm pretty happy with how these horrible bastards turned out 🤣

We have Crakmarrow with the giant axe, The Royal Butcher with the meat hooks, Master Talon snacking on an arm, Valreek with her bone stake and decapitated head, Gristlewel with his giant bone club, Night's Herald with his stylish bone armour and The Duke's Harriers flapping away at the back there 🤣

Finally acquired and painted the warband for my AoS army; Kainan's Reapers 😁 very happy with how this Bonereaper brotherhood turned out 😊

Kainan is (unsurprisingly) the absolute unit with the soul vials and the giant axe, then there's Khenta with the halberd and melting idol... thing, Nohem with the bow, Hakor with the greatsword, Karu with the mace and shield & finally Senha with the sword and shield.

Love how expressive they all are and I think that the hot, metallic pink really works for them 🤣

For a bit of a break... painted up the Skaven from Embergard boxed set, Zikkit's tunnelpack !

So, after playing it at my local store, I picked up the Embergard box and immediately got to work painting The Emberwatch; the Stormcast warband in the set 😁

Made up of Ardorn Flamerunner, Farasa Twice-risen and Yurik Velzaine, these are a sturdy band of bastards with some neon lightning added in (because it's my current obsession 🤣)

Loads of fun painting these and I can't wait to play more games 😁

Completed the second warband from the Embergard box; Zikkit's Tunnelpack 😁

This is the warband that has won me both games I've played so far and they were tricky but fun to paint 😁

Zikkit has the handheld warpstone drill, Rittak has the miniature doomwheel with another drill mounted on the front, Krittatok has those wonderful knife hands, Nitch has the stiel grenade and, finally, Tik Tik is there ready to go boom 🤣

Deeply silly and loads of fun. With added neon paint (naturally) for a really unstable warpstone vibe 😁

Borgit’s Beastgrabbaz are six crafty grots in search of Trugg, the Troggoth king. What they lack in strength – more or less everything – they more than make up for with cunning schemes and ruses.

Borgit Wolf-Killa fancies himself a hunter, and he’s dragged along his mates Snagz and Hobblin’ Dregg. None of them cut an imposing figure, but luckily they’re joined by Uglug, a smaller Troggoth who dreams of bigger things, as well as Rigg and Shamm, who lead Uglug around by pretending to be his pet squig.

So Much Flavour.

I like all the snotlings as decoration.

Secondly, and maybe even more importantly, Embergard’s mines are still reachable, with all their veins of untapped emberstone. The engineers of Sigmar’s empire need this magical resource more than ever if they’re going to resist the Skaven menace, while desperate soldiers looking for an edge seek out any fragment of the stuff. So while Embergard will likely never be rebuilt, it can’t just be abandoned. Crack Freeguild shock-troops and Stormcast veterans have been stationed above ground, rebuilding the defences as best they can, while in the tunnels below roving bands of Stormcasts from the Vanguard chambers – the Emberwatch amongst them – make sure that the mines remain accessible to sanctioned excavation teams, and protected from any too-eager parties of scavengers. Including less officially-permitted Sigmarites who get greedy for the dangerous arcane substance…

Grim. Dark.

Also Skeleton Pope (Zenestra) is still MIA, I wonder if we will get an Underworlds team or Warcry band looking for her?

New Underworlds warbands reveal next week, probably on Monday?

The new edition of Warhammer Underworlds is now in full swing. There are dozens of warbands duking it out across Embergard even now – and there’ll be another new one to see next week. The design team have been hard at work since release, playing games, observing tournaments and collating data, and they’re ready to unveil the first new Rules Updates and Organised Play Formats documents.

Also confirmation that Book 5 is likely second-to-last for the Dawnbringers Saga.

After a long journey, the Twin-Tailed Crusade is nearing its finish line. Charred scrubland and verdant soil are being broken as two new settlements – Embergard and Verdigris – are raised in Asqhy and Ghyran. There’s still time for disaster to strike, but at least these fraught expeditions will have walls to shelter behind.

"Auntie ? It is me Narya.." I said to the phone while trying to sound like I was doing well here even if  I had no place to sleep or a roof above my head. My lot was just full of trash and empty containers and I hadn’t had time yet to clean it.  "Oh yes...the NAP plans are progressing, I gathered a club...there is Mr. Landgraab and me, Sergej and some others: We are trying to make Port Promise a much greener place, ag good place for everyone to live at” I explained and Auntie muttered something , I could not quite understand what it was. 

“Auntie ? Can you say that again...there was disturbances on the line.”
