I like to believe they were just straight up wrong about the shrinking aspect in legends arceus, since theres also a lot of arguing about whether PokeGod is a god who blessed us with either space OR time (now known as intertwined ideas rather than seperate) and there being a subplot about space-time distortions
But it also explains the spawning and despawning I guess so idunno
Since the idea of catching Pokemon is implied to be digitizing them in some capacity, I am obsessed with the implication that you can just not be digitized if you fight hard enough.
#maybe the apricorn has the ability to shrink#and i DO say PokeGod in a way that seperates it from Arceus cause afaik no one actually knows of that pokemon and so anyone who believes in#em just calls them Sinnoh

Month of Emmet Quick Write #2
Prompt #2: White
Emmet has been running the Battle Subway alone ever since his brother’s initial disappearance and while he’s elated that Ingo is finally back (and not quite ready to resume his work), he’s definitely… cautious about how the media will react.
Read the whole thing below the cut:
Emmet strode ahead, coffee in hand, sweeping Ingo along the memorized route that they often used to walk along the subway tunnels, never taking his hand off of his brother’s shoulder. They hadn’t gone very far- only half a mile or so.
“These are the service tunnels beneath the A-Line.” Emmet pointed down the corridor toward the servicing doors illuminated by a harsh blue light. “Those doors are connected to a separate line only for depot agents.”
“That, I remember.” Ingo peered closely at the painted-on signs along the way, leaning further into Emmet’s touch as they continued walking along the darkened tracks. “And these tracks are on both sides of the lines?”
“Only one side. Usually on the right,” Emmet responded. He was still reintroducing Ingo back to the subway after his brother’s… unexpected detour to a place he called Hisui. A place Emmet learned had actually been ancient Sinnoh a few hundred years prior.
Baby steps. That was what they were taking. While Ingo was nowhere near being able to comfortably resume his prior position as his battling partner in their workplace, Ingo had shown a rekindled passion for learning all about the muse that had haunted him throughout his entire time in Hisui. It was a step up; a major step up comparing things to when Ingo had been afraid to leave their shared home in Nimbasa, too afraid of the loud noises and flashing lights, likening them to some rather awful experiences in Hisui that had only ever graced Emmet’s ears on particularly bad nights.
Emmet’s Xtransceiver began to vibrate on his wrist. He was slow to pick it up. “I am Emmet.”
“Boss Emmet, this is Depot Agent Cloud,” came a low drawl from the other side of the phone. Emmet could immediately imagine the older man leaning back in his chair with his feet up on the table, probably watching the two of them stumble around the lower tunnels like two wayward Patrats. “Hey. Just thought I ought to let the two of you know; you’ve got lines buildin’ up on the platforms. May wanna get after it.”
“Lines?” Ingo repeatedly confusedly. “I shouldn’t have any lines- the singles, super singles, multi, and super multi are closed for the time being, are they not?”
“They are.” Emmet knew for a fact that they were supposed to be closed. He had mandated it. He had specifically signed the paperwork for it and had sent it to the mayor of Nimbasa and had the documents approved. Days ago. The paperwork mandated that every single advert for the Battle Subway was to be amended to reflect that in no way, shape or form was Ingo to be challenged or sought after for any purpose related to media.
In the past- when the shock of Ingo disappearing had softened ever so slightly- when Emmet was no longer going without food or missing debilitating amounts of sleep- he had begrudgingly allowed guest trainers to star along the multi-line with him if passengers demanded it: Elesa, his talented depot agents- even Burgh or Clay- the latter if he had gambled too much in Nimbasa the night prior.
“Cloud, can you disband the lines on the singles and multi lines?”
“We’ve tried,” Cloud retorted. “Both Cameron and Furze went over there to get ‘em to leave but they aint budgin’. Keep demanding to see Boss Ingo. Aren’t content with hearing the whole story about him not bein’ fightin’ fit. Think they’re entitled to him or something.”
Emmet pinched the bridge of his nose and stopped dead in his tracks, irritation causing his hands to shake. This is exactly why I should’ve closed the Battle Subway entirely… as much as it would have hurt. Working Gear Station paid more than enough, but the Battle Subway had been his and Emmet’s pet project since they had been kids. It had been their life’s work. To set it down for even a moment stung in such an indescribable way that even trying to comprehend the idea made Emmet nauseous.
“And I know you don’t wanna hear this…” Cloud continued, his words dragging along.
“… What. Is it. Cloud?”
“… A gaggle of news reporters are in the main lobby too. Waitin’ to pounce on your brother, it seems. Jackie’s havin’ an easy time rippin’ their ears off, but we’d appreciate some backup up here. But of course, we can call the police if you think it’s too much. None of the regular commuter lines have been disturbed by the gathering… so far.”
“Is that so?” Emmet’s hands were trembling.
Why couldn’t they just leave his brother alone? Why couldn’t they just let Ingo recuperate in peace? Ingo had brought a lot of things with him from Hisui. New pokémon. New experiences. New battling styles. New traumas.
Old diseases that modern medicine had eradicated decades prior. Scratches and scars and stiff joints. A posture that had at first made him appear shorter- one that physical therapy had slowly began to straighten out. It had been months since Ingo’s return- nearly a year- but Emmet wasn’t naïve enough to believe in the first place that Ingo would recover from his ordeal in a quick fashion. It would take a very long time before things ever began to resemble the normalcy they once had. Ingo had become a different person- Emmet was still trying to piece out exactly who the new ‘Ingo’ was.
Emmet had been doing his utmost best to make sure that Ingo was both getting the maintenance he so desperately needed while ensuring that the media- mostly news stations eager to get their story of the week- stayed clear of Gear Station- and most importantly- of Emmet. He had no tolerance for nosy reporters or overeager fans who didn’t listen to the strict warning about leaving Ingo alone. It had always been like that, even before Ingo went missing. He had been on the receiving end of unwanted attention when Ingo had disappeared, cameras being shoved into his face every single hour of every single day. And Emmet hated interacting with the press. He hated being pestered outside of work. His personal hours. If he could have it his way, he’d ban every last one of them from Gear Station for an entire month and then battle them just to humiliate them a little further. Losing to Battle Facility Heads off the clock meant that challenging trainers still had to fork over money. And Emmet knew just the item that would hurt them and their pockets a little bit more while still remaining perfectly legal.
But… Ingo had been the one to twist his arm and force him to relent in the first place. Ingo had been the one to so enthusiastically state his wish to accompany Emmet to work in the early hours just to gain a taste for their own workplace again. It had been Ingo who had gotten so mad when Emmet initially denied his requests. Ingo who had complained vehemently to Elesa about being stuck inside. Ingo who had so voraciously consumed as much media about subways and trains as he could handle, skipping out on sleep just to be able to figure out what the train-idioms littered about his speech finally meant.
Ingo just barely remembered what paparazzi were. He knew exactly the kind of pressure they would exert to see him. To get a good video or picture of him. That kind of trauma lasted through amnesia. Ingo had relented in allowing one of Emmet’s newest Pokémon- a Vikavolt- to distort any picture or video feed that the news stations or nosy fans did capture of either of them- solely to protect him. But that had been the line and Emmet had been itching to make it perfectly clear to the people of Nimbasa- to everybody in Unova- that Ingo was to be left alone in peace.
“- Emmet?” There came a tentative but strong pull on Emmet’s coat sleeve, pulling him squarely out of his thoughts. Ingo’s concerned gaze swam into the view. “You’re dissociating. Keep steady. Remember your safety checks.” Ingo then let go before fixing his posture. “I can… I can face them if- “
“No.” Emmet firmly grabbed Ingo by his shoulder and steered him over to the servicing tunnel door, shoving him in first. “I am Emmet. I will deal with the… guests. I will have them leave and then we will make our way to the back rooms.”
Ingo was quick to turn on his heels the second the doors closed. “I cannot stay hidden forever, Emmet! I must- “
“You do not have to do anything!” Emmet’s voice bounced off of the concrete. Made Ingo flinch, even. “I will deal with them! That is my job!”
“They are only curious! No harm will come if I simply bid them a quick ‘hello’!” Ingo then met Emmet’s gaze, a flame of determination sparking to life in his eyes. “I want to make an appearance,” Ingo iterated. “They will not leave me be unless I do, correct? Then why continue to skulk around in the tunnels?”
“You’re not- “
“We are,” Ingo asserted. He pulled away, striding toward the dizzying ladders as he began to climb. “I don’t wish to hide anymore.”
“Ingo- “
“Emmet,” Ingo retorted back in a slightly mocking tone. And in a much softer but confident tone, Ingo continued, “I want to say hello. My question is, will you support me?”
There came a moment. “Of course I will!”
“Then we both have nothing to fear! If I become too overwhelmed then- “
“- I will escort you to our office where the press cannot follow us,” Emmet concluded immediately. The backup idea still didn’t make Emmet’s heart beat any slower. “Please inform me if you get too overwhelmed.”
“Emmet, I am not the Salamanca Locomotive. You are forgetting that Hisui hosted more dangers than simply tolerating paparazzi.”
“I’m not insinuating anything.”
Ingo didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he led the way as the two climbed the stairs higher and higher, Ingo himself shakily using the PA to order the depot agents to gather every contender in the main plaza of Gear Station for a ‘surprise visit’. The fear in the man’s voice was palpable, present in every shaking consonant as they neared the exit door leading to the departure platform.
And Emmet followed along silently, his hand just barely holding onto the tail of Ingo’s coat. Anything to remind himself that it wasn’t just him facing the press- Ingo was there too.
“…I want to do this alone.”
Emmet paused. They had come to a full stop in front of the exit door, Ingo still standing with his back to Emmet.
“…What?”
“I… I would like to greet the press… alone.”
“…May I ask why?”
Ingo took in a deep breath. “You have… you have been very accommodating, Emmet. You have been nothing but generous and selfless and thoughtful during my reintroduction to Unova. Truly, you are the best brother I could ever ask for.”
Why does this sound like Ingo is about to say something bad? “…What are you even saying, Ingo? I’m your twin. I’m your only brother,” Emmet chuckled weakly.
“I know. You’ve done much for me. But I think… it’s time… to travel along these tracks alone. Not literally, though,” Ingo backtracked, fixing his hair underneath his cap. “I just thought- well, really- it would be better for me to appear alone. It’s nothing against you, really! But I don’t want to be seen as- “
“A liability?” The words hung in the air for a long, long time. So long that Emmet was almost certain that had been what Ingo was trying to get at. “You don’t want to be seen as… incompetent. Constantly having to be chauffeured around the subway, is that right?”
“…You would be correct.”
“Ingo- “
“I can’t help what I feel, Emmet! I just- will you let me greet them alone?”
“…I can take the other exit- “
“- As in, let me speak for myself,” Ingo clarified, grabbing hold of Emmet’s sleeve with a harried quickness he’d only ever reserved for fleeing out a room when the light switch was flicked on. “I would still greatly appreciate you being there to assist me! Please! Do not decouple from me! I simply meant-”
“…Of course, Ingo.” Emmet shut his eyes and nodded. I’m still wanted. I just… have to… let Ingo lead. Emmet tapped his finger against his side. Ingo always used to lead. He’s trying to lead now. So I will let him. “You lead. I will follow.”
The two brothers paused by the door before turning on a heel to face each other instead. Small fixes were made. Ingo’s shirt was tucked back in. Emmet’s hair was fixed. A few pieces of lint were picked off and sent flying. A few scuffed pokéballs were shined and put back in their places. Ingo made the final call, giving Emmet a thorough once-over before turning and slowly lifting his hand to the door.
“…Say the words.”
Emmet chuckled. “Do you even remember them? You don’t even remember yours.”
“But I remember your lines. I never forgot them.”
Those words alone made Emmet’s throat tighten with pain. His voice shaky, Emmet took his place right behind Ingo, placing a calming hand on his brother’s back. Quietly, he began his usual script. “Fine… Follow the rules. Safe driving.”
“Follow the schedule,” Ingo continued, his voice barely audible.
“Everybody smile. Check safety.”
“Everything’s ready.”
“Aim for victory.”
With a deep breath, Ingo pushed down hard on the door bar. Flashes of blistering white light scorched the tunnel. The din of snapping shutters and the howl of anxious, excited voices blasted into the small concrete hallway. Emmet tightened his grip on Ingo’s coat- more for himself than his brother. He then gave the biggest grin he could muster as he stepped out of the servicing tunnel and onto the platform which was thronging with people. Ingo’s tight grip on him only strengthened but his hands weren’t shaking anymore.
“ALL ABOARD!”

Arc Phone Services AU: on his first day of journeying into Kanto, right after getting Pikachu, Ash got an anonymous package containing an Arc Phone only he can use (Arceus decided his Chosen One could use some communication help). Legendaries can contact and call him on it, provided with their own phones.
It is not as glamorous or epic as it sounds, it mostly serves as a way to give Ash house calls or alert him he's trespassing on a grouchy Legendary's turf (this means often incessant backtracking here and there during his journeys, even in other regions, when one of them needs his help). Some even clog his inbox with useless junk like memes only Pokemons would get (at least Pikachu and his Pokemon teams like 'em).
I see your lore and I raise you this.
Phone ringing
Ash: Hello?
Rayquaza: Chosen one, it is good to hear your voice-
Ash: Rayquaza? Why are you calling me at... 4 in the mroning!
Rayquaza: Why did you pick up after the first ring?
Ash: I had to pee >:(, now, whats up, your not one for usual chatter.
Rayquaza: ....
Ash: Ray-
Rayquaza: I am... In a bit of predicament-
Ash: You're stuck in a tree again, arent you.
Rayquaza: No!
Ash: Uh- hu, so what is it?
Rayquaza: ....
Rayquaza: I am stuck in an Onix tunnel :(
Ash: For the last time, you can't expect to fit- ya know what, Okay, Where are you so I can get you out.
Rayquaza:....
Rayquaza: I am in Sinnoh.
Ash: Mmm, X to doubt, wanna try that again?
Rayquaza: I AM in Sinnoh!!
Rayquaza: Just great Sinnoh...
Ash: AGAIN! Mew fucking- hold on, gimme 10 minutes while i frantically text Celebi
Rayquaza: Am I-
Ash: So much fucking trouble, Im sending you to go get scokded by Dialga!
Rayquaza: Seems acceptable-
Ash: And Im cutting off your Poffin Supoly for a month!
Rayquaza: D: No! My Sweet Berry Surprise!!!
Ash: Maybe this will teach you to not be so dumb!
((Writing this out, Im VIVIDLY reminded of my legendary Tamer AU XD))

Hey Clay, have you ever gotten to work with the Paldean variants of Tauros before? The ranch I work at just took on a couple of each as fosters and I’m thinking about adopting one of the aqua breeds. He’s surprisingly gentle for a Tauros, and absolutely loves his cuddles. He responds to the name Aster (which is what I’ve been calling him these past few days) and he always runs up to see me, but he never charges cause I guess he realizes I’m fragile.
I've had the opportunity to foster a 'couple of Paldean Tauros, yes! It was just a temporary stay, as our ranch here is built for Kantonian and the weather in Sinnoh is too cold for them to live here comfortably, so they were just here for health checkups and quarantine before sending 'em off to Paldea.
Acua breeds are an amazing form caused by their environment, and they tend to be the gentler form of Tauros; as they defend themselves with ranged attacks more than straight-up trampling. And Aster sounds like such a gentle soul! The only recommendation that I'd give is that, if you don't have other Tauros (any breed will do!) you should adopt at least two other Tauros with him. They're herd 'mons, and they do better in groups!
#i hope you do adopt him he seems amazing tho#ask#clay talks#pokemon rp#pokeblogging#pokemon irl#rotomblr#tauros

Enjoy this piece I've had sitting in my drafts for easily over a year and never finished.

------
Six months after suddenly reappearing, Ingo encounters someone he thinks he remembers. Only problem is, he can't remember anything before he returned to Unova, so it's hard to say
Word Count: 2200
Emmet walked in-step with Ingo as they traversed the empty streets of Nimbasa. Their day bags were slung across their shoulders, gently bumping against their sides with every step they took. All was quiet. The dark sky sprawled above them. Emmet fully believed stars were up there, he had seen them himself, though with the light pollution from Nimbasa City, it was hard to see them now. A stiff breeze blew down the long street, whipping his white coat and trying to nab his hat off his head, pinching at his ears and making them sting. Autumn was well on its way to Unova. The Deerling he and his brother had fought earlier was molting its summer green fur to make way for the denser, coarser orange.
Emmet glanced at his brother, still half-paranoid he would not be there. He was still right next to Emmet, his small, neatly trimmed beard and longer hair reflecting the streetlights. His eyes wandered from streetlamp to streetlamp, as though he were still enamored with electricity. He could be. Emmet did not know.
It had only been six months since his reappearance, that day ending the longest three years of Emmet's life.
Emmet had scoffed in annoyance when Elesa barged into his home yet again, tugging by the arm insistently. It was not the first time she'd done this. "Emmet, you have to come with me. Now."
"Elesa, I am busy." It was not incorrect. He was working through some reports from that week that he'd fallen behind on. It used to be Ingo's job but since he was absent, the duty fell to Emmet. He sat at the wooden desk with his hat off, his hair long and unkempt, his ungloved right hand resting on his forehead, the fingers intertwining with his silver hair as his left scribbled out some nonsense on the notebook paper. A couple Joltik that had been sleeping by the eraser jumped and skittered away in surprise, leaving sparks in their wakes.
"Emmet, seriously. You're coming." She continued to tug on him, effectively pulling him to the ground.
"Elesa," he snapped. "I am busy! I cannot get air right now-"
"Emmet. They found him." He stopped struggling immediately, staring blankly at her from the floor as she continued to speak. "He's in Sinnoh. They're flying him over here, I just got the call from Skyla. They're landing at her airport in two hours. He's coming home."
He laid still for another few moments as the information sank in, his eyes wider than saucers. Then he stood so suddenly, he nearly knocked Elesa over. "I am Emmet. I am prepared. Let us depart immediately." For once, she didn't tease him for leaving his paperwork behind as she hurriedly led him out the door and away from the apartment. He was so shocked, he’d forgotten his hat and shoes.
He spent an hour fretting in the lobby. What if they were wrong? What if it wasn't him? Why was he in Sinnoh to begin with? Had he left? Was he sick? Elesa hadn’t mentioned anything about that, and surely she would if he were, right? She had not said a word since she had fetched him from his home. What if she didn’t mention it just to make him feel better and not worry? She wouldn’t. Would she? What if he hadn’t wanted to come home? What if-
What if it was his body? What if he was dead-
“Em, talk to me.” Elesa had shaken him from his thoughts. Without him even speaking, she read him like a book. “He’s safe, Em. Doctors checked him over and said he's a little malnourished, but fine.” She had assessed him before continuing, watching the runway with him. “They did mention one thing, though.” He felt white-hot adrenaline spike through him. This was it, this was where the other shoe dropped. “He… he has severe amnesia. He can hardly remember anything about Unova, his pokemon, or anything else from before he disappeared. And while he was gone, he doesn’t remember much from that, either. The doctors said to be careful with him and-”
“He’s got amnesia?” He had turned to look up at her and listen to her response-
“Emmet? Are your systems operational?” Emmet blinked a couple times and refocused himself, looking at his brother. They had stopped walking at some point and Ingo was watching him with concern. It seemed he had been trying to get Emmet’s attention. He seemed to do that quite often.
“I am Emmet. I am alright. Destination: home.” He began to walk again as Ingo set his hand on Emmet’s shoulder.
“Do you hear that?” Ingo was watching something just past Emmet, not quite focusing on him.
Emmet knit his brow, but heard nothing. “I have hearing loss, Ingo. I cannot hear well.”
“Ah! My apologies.” Emmet had reminded Ingo of this fact many times before. He was still trying to remember many things about his life before Hisui, as well as his life while there. Emmet had never heard of a region called that before and neither had anyone else he’d talked to. Perhaps Ingo was mixing up a name he’d heard with the region? He had definitely been in Sinnoh. “I hear something like scuffling from over there.” Ingo nodded to the mouth of an empty alleyway. Emmet cocked his head, not able to hear anything. Ingo did have better hearing than him, though Emmet’s eyesight was better of the two of them.
“Toss out a pokemon, just in case,” Emmet advised. Ingo did, tossing out the large Gliscor he had carried home from Hisui. Ingo approached the alley, his body taut and ready to spring. Emmet hung back, as it was obvious that Emmet was much less prepared to deal with this than Ingo was.
Gliscor peeked into the alleyway first, screeching loudly after it saw something. It flew into the alley and a few small pokemon burst out. Trubbish. All were honking and gargling as they quickly took off, shuffling out of the alley and scattering into the night. Ingo plunged into the alley as soon as the last one left, leaving Emmet to scurry in after him. What was he doing?! Gliscor seemed to have it handled-
He saw a girl. She was wearing very little, only a pink and white dress with ostentatious tails and several bangles on her arm. A pink headpiece adorned her head. She was pressed against the wall, shaking horribly, her pale face almost ghostly in the low light. Her eyes were wide with fear. Gliscor was flitting around her, screeching in happiness. Her eyes followed the creature closely. She was hardly blinking. Did it know this girl? Emmet was unsure.
She knitted her brow as Ingo came into view. She watched Emmet’s brother verrry carefully, confusion in her gaze. Ingo had stopped too, watching the woman. He cocked his head.
“Hello. I… feel that I may recognize you. Might I ask your name, Miss?” Ingo’s voice was startlingly loud in the space around them. Emmet almost wanted to cover his own ears, though he knew his own reception of it was muted.
She continued to stare at him for some time. Emmet wondered if she could talk.
From her mouth tumbled a series of words that Emmet could not understand. She was still watching Ingo with wide eyes. Her body was beginning to shake like a leaf in the wind.
Emmet blanched. His mouth dropped open with Ingo’s response, in the same language she must have been speaking.
The girl breathed out a sigh of relief and nodded. Then she said something else Emmet could not begin to comprehend. Ingo’s posture relaxed some as the two spoke. This continued for a minute or two before Emmet grew bored. He stepped forward and placed a hand on Ingo’s shoulder. The girl’s attention flicked to him, making her tense up again even as her eyebrows knitted together again. “Brother, who is this? Do you know her? She speaks the same way you did when you reappeared.”
“Ah! Yes, I do believe I remember her… somehow. Not very well, mind you. She says she simply appeared here, she seems to have fallen. She hid in this alley because the cars and lights were confusing to her. I believe we met in my last terminal.” Ingo’s eyes flicked between Emmet and the woman.
“What is her name?” Emmet asked him, tilting his head. Ingo met his eyes but said nothing for a moment.
“She cannot remember.” He turned his attention back to the girl, who was looking between the two of them, her eyes wide. She spoke, asking a question, from the sound of it. Ingo responded in kind.
“What are you two saying? I cannot understand.” Emmet grinned a little in confusion as he said this. This was not how he expected his night to go.
“She is asking about you. I am explaining our relation, currently. I am concerned for her, though. I feel that she was rather close with me in my last terminal, but I cannot remember why…” He brought a hand to his chin as he thought.
“Like a girlfriend?”
“No!” His voice was louder than even he had intended, and the girl flinched. “You know that neither of us care for those kinds of connections! She is merely a friend… maybe even a close friend. Perhaps I will recall more as time goes on.”
“Hmm.” Emmet simply hummed his affirmation, smirking at Ingo’s outburst. “What is she going to do?” he asked.
Ingo shook his head. “I fear for her. It is clear she has nowhere to go. Perhaps… would it be alright if-”
“Yes. She can stay.” Emmet did not need to hear the rest of the question in order to understand what he was about to ask. Ingo relayed the information to the woman, whose posture began to relax slightly again. She said something in return. Ingo nodded and beckoned, whistling to Gliscor. It was still sticking close to the woman, though she did not seem to share the sentiment it had. She recoiled from it.
The girl followed the twins home, glancing feverishly at the buildings and the pokemon around. Thankfully, not many people were out anymore. It did not take long for the three of them to find their way to the twins’ apartment. Ingo led them inside as Emmet unlocked the door, swinging it open. Several Joltik met them at the door, sparking and buzzing in excitement. Emmet smiled brightly as he scooped them up. “Did you wait for us? Oh, look at you, guarding the house while we are gone! Come on, babies, I’ll feed you. I know you lot are hungry- Marvin, stop trying to get to the sockets! I told you no!” He scooped up all the Joltik he came across, sweeping them into the kitchen so that he could feed them properly. After he was finished and the spiders were all happily munching, Emmet went back to the main room to remove his uniform. Ingo already had.
“Emmet, take your shoes off.”
“My babies needed nourishment.”
“It is nearly time for this batch to go be released anyway-”
“Do not ruin this for me, Ingo.” Emmet grinned as he shrugged off his coat and neatly hung it up in the closet. Ingo rolled his eyes as he retreated to their bedroom, likely to change and prep things for their guest.
Speaking of which, she stood by the door, watching him intently. Emmet waved at her, still smiling. He might as well try to be cordial, he figured. “I am Emmet.” He pointed at himself. “Emmet.”
She tilted her head slightly. “Em-met?”
Emmet nodded vigorously. “Emmet! I am Emmet!” Then he pointed at her. “You?”
She shrugged her shoulders, casting her eyes down at the ground. Emmet noticed that her cuffs were adorned with light-colored stones, all cut perfectly circular. “Emmet?” Ingo emerged, his hair mussed from his hat, hauling a blanket. “We have no guest room, so I believe we may have to make do with the couch.”
“That sounds doable. If she does not remember her name, how should we address her?”
“Allow me to ask.” He turned and translated the question. She paused, not speaking, picking at her cuffs in embarrassment.
“What if we called her Pearl? She seems fond of them.” Emmet pointed at the stones in her cuffs and necklace, making her flinch. Ingo asked her a question again in the strange tongue, which she replied to eagerly.
“She likes that notion. She says that the word holds some sort of importance for her, though she cannot remember what it is. Regardless, it will suffice for now.” Ingo clapped twice. “Bravo! Now, Emmet, if you would like to shower first, I can show Pearl around a bit. Perhaps make sure our partners do not get too close. She seems rather frightened of pokemon.”
Emmet nodded and strolled from the room, grabbing a towel and a change of clothes as he marched into the bathroom. Afraid of pokemon? How unfortunate. What an odd night it had been, he marveled to himself.

Pokemon/ Kaiju No. 8
Recollection Chronicles Volume 3.
Brave The Shadows, Heroes!!!
A simple trip to Professor Krane to give some items that have been given to Trainer by Gramps turned into another major adventure and right after Trainer had just gotten done with the Sinnoh League. The kidnapped Professor Krane, the diabolical Team Cipher, Shadow Pokémon and the enigmatic leader behind this crisis now facing the small Region of Orre. Trainer would face off against the crisis and save not only Professor Krane but the Pokemon and people in danger of Team Cipher. However Trainer wouldn't be doing this alone as Trainer not only called back a lot of their friends on the Isle Of Armor, and would also gain New Pokémon friends that would fight alongside Trainer to save their fellow Pokemon and the region.
These are a few of the Pokemon that fough by Trainer's side and would become invaluable friends.
The Orre Region is where Trainer met Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Hitmontop. However Hitmontop was the first one Trainer met, it was when Trainer was on the hunt for Cipher Grunts at Mt. Battle when Trainer came across an injured Hitmontop that was wearing a cool set of Safety Goggles. When Hitmontop saw Trainer they were very wary of Trainer, thankfully that waryness disappeared when Trainer spoke to them using PokeTalk. Having never met a human that could speak Pokémon before they were very surprised.
After a bit of talking and treating Hitmontop's wounds the Pokémon told Trainer what had happened. Hitmontop was chasing after a Team Cipher Grunt that was the one responsible for catching 2 of their friends Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee. A band of Grunts attacked the trio and while Hitmontop managed to escape their friends were not so lucky and all Hitmontop had left of their friends was there signature items. Hitmonchan's Muscle Band and Hitmonlee's Wide Lens, Hitmontop was both saddend and enraged and chased after the Grunts eventually finding the one that had captured both of there friends. Hitmontop chased the Grunt up Mt. Battle and eventually confronted the Grunt that took Hitmontop's friends. However the 2 Pokémon had unfortunately been subjected to the Shadow infection and turned into Shadow Pokémon and the Grunt used them against the Top Pokémon. Hitmontop was unable to bring themselves too hurt their friends and instead called out too them. Despite calling out to Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan the 2 Pokémon were deaf to Hitmontop's calls. Hitmontop ended up taking a lot of damage from the super effective Shadow moves, Shadow Rush, and Shadow Break. Hitmontop knew that if they fell here then their friends will never be rescued from Shadows iron grips. Hitmontop acted quickly and used Sandstorm to push back Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, and also too cover Hitmontop's escape from battle. After Hitmontop was done with their story, Trainer had made there mind up and told Hitmontop that Trainer would get Hitmontop's friends back and cure them of the Shadow Affliction. Trainer left Hitmontop too rest in a safe spot while Trainer entered and began the treck up Mt. Battle. It took awhile but Trainer eventually found the Team Cipher Grunt and told the Grunt to let go of Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, the Grunt of course said no and sent out the 2 captured too fight Trainer. Trainer sent out Grimmsnarl and Crustle too fight Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee so Trainer could catch them with the Snag 'em Arm. The fight was harsh since the 2 pokemon had Shadow moves which were strong and super effective aganist any type, that combined with both Shadow Pokemon attacking with reckless abandon, with no care for there own health made the fight even more tricky. Even with paralyzes from Grimmsnarl's Thunder Wave and tanking a powerful Rock Wrecker from Crustle, both Shadow Pokemon kept up the pressure. Trainer was about too switch out there Pokemon when an unexpected Hero joined the fight. Hitmontop had followed Trainer up Mt. Battle and while Trainer and Grunt fought, Hitmontop had gotten too a higher vantage point, putting on there Safety Goggles they jumped down upon the unsuspecting Shadow Pokemon and knock them both down with a Ice Spinner and effectively pinned the 2 Pokémon, Hitmo top called out to Trainer to do whatever it is they needed to do to help Hitmontop's friends. Not needing to be told twice, Trainer activated the Snag 'em Arm and threw 2 Pokeballs and since the 2 Shadow Pokémon were damaged and paralyzed the Pokéballs snapped with success. Thanks too Hitmontop both Pokemon had been captured and the Grunt was given the boot ( Hitmontop made sure of it) and ran away.
Later on in the day everyone returned back to Professor Krane's lab to get Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee purified and the next day thanks too Professor Krane, Hitmontop was reunited with there friends and the 3 hugged each other in happiness to be back in business. Trainer would have let them all go rest up at a Poke Ranch like the other Shadow Pokemon Trainer had caught an purified but all 3 Marshal Pokemon made the unanimous decision to join Trainer on their quest to save other Pokemon that had been afflicted by the Shadows and joined Trainer's team
The next Pokemon was the Steel-Fairy type Mawile. Mawile had been captured and turned into a Shadow Pokemon, a Shadow Pokemon that was given to a higher level Grunt in charge of distributing Shadow Pokemon across Orre's cities. Trainer had caught up to the Grunt while visiting Pyrite Town. When Trainer fought the Grunt, Mawile was brought out and the Steel-Fairy type had a strong as Mawile constantly fought aganist the Grunt's commands fighting the Shadow affliction within itself. This caused Mawile too go into Hyper Mode and eventually start attacking the surrondings. When the going got tough the Grunt just ran away from Mawile's rampage. Trainer however stayed and called out too Mawile using PokeTalk. This had the desired effect as Mawile responded too Trainer and thankfully calmed down Mawile out of Hyper Mode. However the Shadow affliction still raged on and caused Mawile a great deal of pain so Trainer quickly caught them and rushed Mawile back for treatment at Professor Krane's lab. The purification didn't take long for Mawile as it seems Mawile had fought back aganist the Shadowification process and retained part of there mind and emotions. Mawile was tough and Mawile made it known when they stopped Trainer and asked to battle alongside them wanting some good ol' payback aganist Team Cipher. Trainer asked if Mawile was up too fight alongside Trainer, and Mawile gave a resolute yes and Trainer smiled and gave there new friend a fist bump.
The final Pokemon for this recollection is the Hoenn Water-Type starter Mudkip. Mudkip lived in a secluded area of Agate Village with other Water-Type Pokemon. The area was a small pond that led into a small river. Mudkip along with the other Water-Type Pokemon there had lived in peace there, however when Team Cipher started there hunt for Pokemon too make more Shadow Pokemon, the pond was quickly found and a couple of Team Cipher Grunts started too try and catch the Pokemon. Mudkip however was not going too let this happen and managed too beat up the Grunts and send them packing. Mudkip quickly took too protecting there fellow Pokemon and guarded the pond. When Trainer got too Agate Village, the Elder of the Village told Trainer about the Pokemon that lived in the pond and how Team Cipher was trying to capture those Pokemon and asked thrm to visit too make sure everything was fine. Trainer did as the Elder asked of them and when they got there, Trainer was mistaken for a Team Cipher Grunt by Mudkip and got attacked. Thankfully Trainer's PokeTalk defused the situation immediately and talked too Mudkip and the other Pokemon at the Pond. Trainer made sure everyone was ok before leaving and left too rest for the night. The next morning Trainer decided to pay the Pokemon a visit and bring them all some berries, however when Trainer got there the Pond was once again being attacked this time by a Team Cipher Boss who had brought a couple of Grunts with them. Mudkip was holding out as best they could but they were not strong enough too handle this many Grunts and a Boss, so Trainer immediately sent out there Pokemon too help defend the others. The battle was troublesome and Mudkip had almost gotten hit by the Cipher Boss's Electrode but Trainer blocked the attack for Mudkip by taking the hit instead, this shocked Mudkip but also angered Mudkip that this Cipher guy dare hurt one of there new friend's, and with the rest of Trainer's Pokemon knocked out all of Team Cipher's Pokemon. At the end of the fight, Trainer, there Pokemon companions, and Mudkip kicked the butts of Team Cipher Boss, Grunts, amd saved the Pokemon. The bravery shown by Trainer and how Trainer saved Mudkip, inspired Mudkip too fight by Trainer's side too help save other Pokemon. After relocating all the Pokemon too a safe place in the Professor's Ranch. Mudkip joined up with Trainer and would help them no matter the obstacle
Come Hell Or High Water
These are some of the Heroic Pokemon that helped Trainer take down Team Cipher and end the Shadow Pokemon
I just imagine Trainer telling everyone this story after a lesson about Branch Evolutions as the Hitmon trio were brought out to help. Soshiro is going to get them a name tag that says 'Problem Child' because again what the hell? I bet a majority of Trainer's scars probably came from this adventure since Shadow Pokemon in general are quite vicious.

Vourison exhaled slowly, eyes closing again at the sound of skittering against wood outside his nest. A moment later he felt something climb inside with him, and the feeling of tiny talons gripping into his thick hide and climbing up onto him was what made him open his eyes again, squinting in annoyance at the two on his back.
"Why'd you wake me up now? It's way too early." He groaned.
"Well, technically," The blue head piped up, "In the northern hemisphere in the Sinnoh region, a town called Bloom Burrow just went through a time shift and-"
"Alright, alright." He groaned, pushing himself up, the small dragons falling onto the soft ground with an 'omph'. "Get off me, I'm up. 'Time shift' my tail. You two are just brats who want to annoy me."
"Not true!" The pink one protested, "We've got tons of important things to do! Like guiding souls! And training! And-"
"Eating all the Shade Berries you can get your grubby little paws on, huh?" Vourison said with a playful huff, pulling himself up and out of his bed. "You two are little hellions. Its a wonder they haven't gone extinct yet. I don't know why I even bothered bringing you back to my forest."
"You love us!" The blue head crowed, the two clambering up and out of the giant bed after him, "Besides, even if you hadn't brought us here we would have hunted you down either way!"
"We're like leeches."
"Hey, don't call us leeches!"
"Well that was the first thing that popped into mind! What else should I have called us?"
"I dunno, something cool, like a geode."
"Geodes don't stick to things!"
"Kid's please. You're killing me here. You're killing your Grunkle." Vourison gestured towards the door, "I'll be out in a bit. Go tell Eroubus to get ready for training. Give em a good spook if you find them slacking off or something. Now scram!"
The sound of laughter left the two tiny dragons as they scampered away, leaving Vourison alone once more. With a fond sigh, he turned around and began straightening out the bed he had just climbed out of. Maybe now was a good time to ask a question?
Vourison is now open for asks!

pokemon question from a guy who doesnt know much about pokemon. I am just now realizing that despite seeing them a lot I don't have a ton of context for the submas guys. what game(s) are they from, and whats like... theyre whole deal? (<- genuine question but also giving you an excuse to talk about the train guys)
ingo and emmet are the heads of the battle facility in the unova region :-] this basically means that they are the final bosses of an optional challenge mode in gen 5 (pokemon black & white / black2 / white2).
instead of gaining experience you're meant to fight several battles in a row with all pokemon set to level 50 to try get a streak as high as possible. there's regular battle lines where they're the 21st battle, and then "super" lines / infinite lines where they're the 49th battle but you can keep going indefinitely even after fighting them
they also have a mandatory story battle in pokemon black 2 and white 2 that isn't in the originals where they fight you with 2 pokemon that evolve when traded which i think is really cute :-] they have a similar thing in pokemon masters where they have an alt with pokemon that only evolve when traded with the other specifically... so emmet has dialogue that's like "my escavalier used to be ingo's karrablast, i'll continue to take good care of it for him!" which is really cute to me
but yeah in general they are just 2 guys who are really strong trainers in-universe and love trains.
the deal with them / why they got such a resurgence of popularity recently is because of pokemon legends arceus. it's a game that takes place at some ambiguous point in the past in a different region (sinnoh, the region for the gen 4 games diamond pearl and platinum). and the protagonist is sort of brought there by arceus to complete the first ever pokedex in the region while also saving the world LOL. and like. so this game takes place like roughly i'll say 200 years in the past from other pokemon games, and also in a different region from the one the subway bosses are from.
ingo is there. for some reason ingo is there. and he has amnesia. and he's very miserable about it. he was already a really popular character in the original games and now all of the people who recognized him (myself included) were like WHAT??? OH MY GOD??? OH NO????? WHAT IS HE DOING HERE. because he's just like so miserable and obviously misses unova and his pokemon and emmet a lot even though he barely remembers anything about it... so it's really conducive to like fix-it type stuff LOL. he does something similar in these games too where he organizes battles between the player and other people (himself included) but it's not as fun for me because he's a huge pushover in that game so there's not really the same thrill
but yeah he has a lot of dialogue that just kind of boils down to "i really miss these things and these people. even though i can't remember them my heart feels the absence" and stuff... if you do fight him and once he starts organizing battles he directly quotes something emmet says in the b2w2 mandatory fight and then after you beat him says he doesn't really know what it means a lot of the time when he says things like that but hearing those words fills him with strength 😭 he talks about missing his chandelure (one of the pokemon he uses on the super line battle) and that he's starting to remember a man who looks like him. it's just a lot he's doing really bad. he's still wearing the coat and hat he was wearing when he got to hisui (<- what the sinnoh region was called in the past in this game) even though they're like in tatters now alongside other parts of his old outfit you can see like presumably the shoes and his belt... he's really clinging to this stuff and it's sad because you can tell how homesick he is
he is definitely a minor character in pla and him and emmet were barely even in black and white as npcs but they're very endearingly written so i get why people like em so much

@koffing-time getting down into the weeds on Houndoom burns here instead of clogging the other post. or as much as i can before some other researchers start yelling at me to just write a paper already. buckle up folks.
to start with i'm gonna paraphrase a Xander rant on why they're so vilified. in the eastern regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh) most fire types fall into at least one of three categories. they've either been domesticated for centuries (Torchic/Numel), live somewhere remote or inhospitable to humans (Magby/Slugma), or were once revered as a near-Legendary Pokémon (Arcanine/Ninetails).
Houndoom are an obvious outlier and justified or not are often blamed for livestock going missing. with the most potential for human conflict this makes them the most likely Pokémon in these regions to badly burn someone.
let's get something straight. third-degree burns are a nightmare to treat now with all of the options available. in olden times? if you could live without whatever was burned amputation was the simple answer. lot easier to keep a cut disinfected.
so while we now know that a Houndoom burn actually does have more lingering effects than other sources at least some of the reputation is a mythos. chopping off your own fingers to avoid the pain sounds better than saying "i'd rather not get sick and die".
that out of the way let's get into how it actually works.
i'll use the Charmander line as a basis of comparison since they're so well known. they also have a gland that they use to spray fire. they let some of the flammable liquid (essentially crude oil) pool in their mouths then ignite it with a spark tooth (won't be getting into the details but it's piezoelectric). with this pilot light burning they expel a larger amount of oil that ignites immediately (giving their attacks a characteristic explosive start).
aside from having a gland in the same position Houndoom are completely different. they (as well as Houndour) have no sparking mechanism and need some other way to kickstart the process at body temperature.
(Tix i'll send you the actual chemical names later. to stop people's eyes from glazing over any more i'm just gonna call 'em by letters.)
in the gland is primarily chemical A. A being extremely unstable and fairly volatile it's stored under pressure and mixed with an inhibitor (chemical B) to stop it from breaking down or evaporating.
when released from the gland the mixture travels through a channel during which most of B is reabsorbed for future use. meaning that nearly pure A enters the mouth where it undergoes a rapid decomposition reaction into chemicals C and D as well as a fair amount of heat.
out of the mouth C and D react further with oxygen to produce chemicals E, F, and G. the exact ratio depends on available oxygen and heat. more specifically there's a consistent starting ratio but G can further react with oxygen to make trace amounts of E and F but mostly water.
E is extremely flammable and ignites as it is formed using energy from the previous exotherms. F has a significantly higher flash point but actually burns at a lower temperature and this is what's actually burning when a ranged attack hits the target. with something like fire fang E is still going strong which is why those burns are usually worse (for the amount of time that the fire's actually in contact).
i'm familiar with the case that you mentioned and that's a bit of a weird one. i won't mention the patient's name (though you can find it fairly easily) but they were hit by a fire fang in a low-oxygen environment. so E burned up entirely but F was left behind and got in through the open wound.
their situation was atypical in that it left them with a source of chronic pain. hadn't thought of the tattoo analogy before since i don't have one but that's a pretty accurate summation of what happened to that patient.
but wait you might ask. if that's unusual then what actually causes the typical hypersensitization to pain in the afflicted area. it's actually our old friend G. as mentioned earlier it mainly decomposes to water so the body can process it but it takes time. and in that time it acts as a mutagen. affected cells (and their daughter cells since the DNA itself is affected) together release certain classes of prostaglandins in much higher concentrations than they should.
the net positive of this are that further wounds in the area clot faster are less likely to become infected and heal at a marginally better rate. the far more prevalent downside is that the tissues will experience a disproportionate amount of inflammation and pain at the slightest disturbance.
NSAIDs like Aleevee can help temporarily as they specifically reduce the rate of prostaglandin release. they should not be taken constantly without a physician's approval though as they work on the entire body rather than a targeted area and there is potential for long term side effects.
all this being said it's not something that most people need to worry about. Houndour end up producing G at lower concentrations so it's almost unheard of with them and even with Houndoom it shouldn't be a problem unless they were aiming for a third-degree burn (meaning that they were legitimately trying to kill you or your Pokémon). unless they're horribly trained this should never happen in a league battle but best to leave the wild ones alone in case they fear for their lives.
fuck.
i just thought of something this could actually be used for. now i've gotta write a damn paper and cite this post so it doesn't get flagged for plagiarism. how you gonna tell me i'm copying my own work. i wrote it dumbasses.

hey, if you want fun human facts? How about plushies!
They found a preserved plushie from the pre-celestican period up in northern sinnoh, in the shape of a starly. It was stuffed with stantler fur and made of some sort of felt they haven't yet identified yet, and sewn up very carefully.
multiple cultures have independently developed plushies and dolls! If you know where to look, you can exchange spheres for them underground!
It is human nature, ingrained in our very being, to create something soft and holdable, and give it a name and give it a shape and call it a friend. and personally i think that's wonderful. This is bulbabuddy! And this is Bonbon
[Attached are two images; one is of a smiling bulbasaur plush wearing a yellow bandana. The picture is taken on what appears to be someone's lawn, with vibrant natural lighting and clover and wildflowers. The second image is of a rather floppy, worn buneary plush with matted fur. it's clearly been well loved, and the side has been neatly sewn up at one point with thread just a few shades too dark. This one is taken indoors, propped against a couch.]
@gotta-pet-em-all
Wow! That's super cool!
I always wanted to have a human plushie, but mama wouldn't let me. Papa got me one a few months ago, though! A Leon plushie!
Bulbabuddy and Bonbon look really lovely!

some more silly questions for ur pokeman au
is the au set in a specific region? if so, which one?
what do you think about gyms? maybe the crew could grow up into the role?? or the gym leaders be the tng crew?
tell us some other fun facts if u want!!!!!!!
they travel a bit so no specific region but i did have an idea of where they came from (hopefully i remember it right)
Spock is ORIGINALLY from Johto where he met I'chaya as a teddiursa when he was really young and angrily practicing his lyre in the woods cuz sarek basically told him it was too loud to play that badly in the house💀 then he moved to unova without catching I'chaya (cuz he was too young) and got snivy as a starter (they travel to Johto at some point and they're reunited)
Jim is from unova and he met Spock when they were getting starter pokemon (i know spock is older so they wouldn't get them at the same time shut up shh) Jim picked tepig and they had a battle that spock surprisingly won despite the type disadvantage (it was at this moment jim realized he's kinda ass at battling and wants to get better)
Bones is from Paldea and he picked quaxly as a starter (even though he already caught/was adopted by a chansey that found him when he got hurt when he was really little) and he met jim and spock after assembling a fair bit of his team (he already had an egg (togepi) he's such a good egg dad)
Scotty is from sinnoh and he picked piplup as a starter cuz he thought it was cute (later on he heard it became steel type and looked into steel types and became obsessed)
Uhura is from the alola region and she picked popplio as her starter because she got to the starter picking place and there was this weird lookin dog thing trying to serenade her (howl and scream) and she loved it (she will try to teach her to sing better dw) she wanted to travel a lot and she went to sinnoh first where she met her bestie scotty and they started traveling together
Sulu is from kanto and he picked bulbasaur (it's a fat little plant frog are you kidding of course he'd pick bulbasaur) and met scotty and uhura when they traveled there and he joined their group (they stayed there for a bit so he could catch his oddish uhura caught her vulpix and scotty got his elekid and magnemite)
i do think some of them could grow into gym leaders (not sure who maybe jim if he doesn't succeed in becoming champion (gym leader jim))and since im starting to get into tng i might ignore how time works and just have tng characters in the au as well
Khan had a legends arceus type of moment after he caught a cyndaquil in the wild in hisui (he was dared to cuz everyone was afraid of pokemon back then) and got sent forward in time to sinnoh instead where he didn't MEET scotty but he did stare longingly for a while before scotty ran off with uhura
Stonn started in unova and got lucky when he picked his starter a year before jim and spock so he has a shiny snivy (he will 100% rub it in every time he encounters spock) and then moved to galar to start his journey (he will regret this action later) because he heard about this really cool pokemon called toxtricity that has 2 forms that are both badass (surely there's not a catch) and hunted down 2 toxels so he could train em up (SURELY THERE'S NOT A CATCH) he hasn't slept since
T'Pring is from kalos and she picked fennekin as her starter (she stays in kalos most of the time) and she will grow up to be a gym leader I just decided (ignore the different types on her team)

Day 30 - New Friends
Fic if you want to read every posted day : https://archiveofourown.org/works/51386731/chapters/129854215
While Ingo was in front babbling with Cynthia about Pokemon battle, Emmet in his case, preferred to stay slightly behind to let them the space they needed to talk in peace, Next to him was the champion Dawn, who, since the start of the day, seemed to avoid initiating any conversation, as she seemed lost in her head for some reason.
It was strange, but Emmet didn't pay any mind, she was probably occupied with more pressing matters about the league, and as much as it was an honor that she accepted his request – something he was still surprised about, as he was thinking he was going to be turned down - he cannot stop himself to feel bad for disturbing Dawn and Cynthia in their already busy schedule, that don’t mean he regret anything, he is satisfied that his plan for Ingo’s anniversary and their vacation worked better than he through it would, but he still feel bad.
It took a long time to put their perfect vacation in place – even if there was no train, so it wasn’t totally perfect – He knew his brother by heart, and how to make him happy, so his best bet was to find someone who would share their love for battle and would be okay to guide them around in the new region, and lucky for him there was the Champion of Sinnoh and the previous champion who were more than happy to help.
They even got the chance to have a battle against them!
And even if it was a shame to have lost with flying color against Dawn and Cynthia, he was happy that his brother got to have fun with it.
“hum….Excuse me?”
The tentative voice of Dawn startled the silence between them, It was slightly surprising to say the least, a good one, but still a surprise, he slowly tilted his head.
“Yes? Is there a problem?”
“Oh no, no, no no no, there is no problem!!” she started to shake her hand rapidly, before turning her head away with a thoughtful look as if she was trying to find how to explain what she wished to talk about. “It’s just that…. I have a question, if you don’t mind, it has been bugging me for a while now”
“Oh! I am Emmet, I will be happy to answer your question!!”
That seemed to be enough to encourage the Champion to talk more. “Well, I was wondering about why you asked us to surprise your brother?” Oh….that was that sort of question, Emmet nodded ready to answer, but he rapidly realized that she was not finished. “Don’t get me wrong!! I would have accepted either way to meet you two, It’s not everyday that a strong trainer from another region asks you to make you visit the region for an anniversary, This is the first time even, but I just don’t understand why, why here, in particular Em, you could have ask everywhere in the world but...you decide to come here so….”
Emmet stayed silent for a moment, trying to register the question and all the words she just spilled on him, before finally answering, “So you were curious about my reasoning?”
She nodded to confirm that it was what she was thinking about, That was a simple question that Emmet was more than happy to answer to “I thought it was a good idea, So I did it, there is no profound reason behind my reasoning, I just wanted to make Ingo happy”
“Oh...yeah I understand that make sense”
There was a silence between the two for a moment yet again, more awkward than before, as neither knew how to continue the discussion, They even tried to avoid looking at the other one as the silence was getting progressively worse...finally Emmet decided to talk again, hesitantly “So...You call me Em, Why?”
That seem to surprise Dawn who look more than embarrassed now as she realize her error “Oh... Oh shoot!! I didn’t mean to!!! I just said that by reflex, and …Arceus!! I am so sorry Emmet, I didn--”
The reaction of the champion just made Emmet chuckle loudly “Do not worry, I don’t mind, it is just that there is... not a lot of people who use this nickname, even Ingo does not use it, so I am surprise”
That seemed to reassure the young adult who sighed loudly before hiding her head in her hand to the further amusement of Emmet “Still, this is very embarrassing!!”
“Embarrassing? Yes, but it is very funny too”
“Of course this is funny to you, why am I not surprise?”
“Because I am Emmet!!”
And that seems to break the glass between them as they start to joke and talk more naturally, the tension that was building before seemingly evaporating slowly as the two learn about each other slowly but surely.
______________________
Their vacation did end up on a very good note, as Ingo and Emmet had the chance to visit and try multiple interesting places that Dawn and Cynthia knew about, They even had the chance to fight against other battle facility heads who were more than happy to meet the twins!
But all good things come to an end, The two brothers needed to go back home at the end of their two weeks in Sinnoh, and that also meant that they needed to say goodbye.
“It was a pleasure to have meet you two, My brother and I will never be grateful enough to have take time out of your busy schedule to guide us around”
Cynthia simply laughed it off, smiling at the duo. “It’s nothing really, I am happy that you have been able to enjoy the region!”
“I am Emmet, and it was very fun, thank you!”
“Good to know that it was as fun for you as it was fun for us!” declare loudly Dawn, as she herself smile ear to ear, even if she was clearly sad to see them go so soon, Emmet can understand where it came from, he himself going to miss her.
The announcement in the airport made them know that their plane had arrived at the station, cutting their goodbye short as they had to go, but before Emmet was able to follow his brother, Dawn suddenly stopped him, putting something in his hand with a serious look.
“Em, before you go, I just want to make you know that if you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to make me know okay? I would be more than happy to help”
And before Emmet could ask any questions about this sudden change of tone, she was already back near Cynthia, waving at him, He was certainly confused but decided to think about it later on, turning around and catching up to his brother who was already ahead.
It was only when the two were on the plane at their designated seat that Emmet decided to take a curious glimpse at what Dawn had given to him.
“Well, Emmet, I must admit my defeat, your idea for our vacation and anniversary was excellent even with the lack of train”
“Hum?!...Yup, I know, I told you that you would like it”
“You did tell me it is true”
“I am Emmet and I am always right!!”
As his twin laughed loudly at Emmet shenanigan, the latter simply smiled as he put in his pocket the paper where was written the number of Dawn.

can you say anything about Cynthia and sycamore’s dynamic in villain Diantha au? :00
THESE TWO CJKDNDKD
Their dynamic also makes me insane
No bc they're like, a much saner version of Diantha and Geeta, they've been friends since they were kids, they've always been there for each other despite the distance too, and after Cyrus died it's only the two of em left and they always try to make sure the other one is safe
Cynthia knows about Pa Sycamore. During his time in Sinnoh, Augustine told Prof Rowan about his father and how he never got to meet his own mother, unbeknownst to them Cynthia and Cyrus were listening, and they barged in comforting Augustine. And just cjmdnd y'know, Augustine kept saying it's fine, because his sister sent a letter to him saying how she became Champion, and when he finally goes back home to Kalos, he'll live w his sister, he doesn't have to go back to his father again
Ofc, Augustine kept in touch w them even when he got back to Kalos, they'd send letters and messages to each other making sure they're doing well too. But then one day, Cyrus stopped sending messages, one day Cynthia said she also became Champion of Sinnoh, and one day they all stopped.
During that dense silence, Augustine was completely unaware of what's happening in Sinnoh, being busy w his own research too so he'd finally be realized as a legit professor. So imagine his surprise when he sees Sinnoh on the news, Cynthia and Cyrus on top of Mt. Coronet, and suddenly... Suddenly Cyrus was taken by Giratina. Can you imagine how devastated he'd be tho, how he tried calling Cynthia after that but she wasn't answering his calls, as she's also grieving the lost of her friend.
It's just a mess.
And it took a few years before they had contact w each other again. With Augustine heading to Sinnoh, visiting Prof Rowan again. And Cynthia's there too, and they finally met again, and it's just so fucking quiet between them until Augustine broke down crying, running to her and pulling her into a hug. Taken aback, Cynthia pulled him closer too, afraid that he'd also be taken away from her.
And just jcmdnd despite everything they're still so important to each other y'know, and after that meeting they made sure to always keep in touch, to never distant themselves from each other, especially now since they lost Cyrus. And Augustine did help her grieve, those two had always been close since they were kids, and suddenly he's gone now.
And y'know everything's going so well, they're close w each other again, almost like when they were kids, they know each other's secrets, know what troubles the other, they just cjmdnd they just know, and suddenly the shit that happened w the champions, and now Augustine is scared he'd lose not only Diantha but Cynthia as well. He can't lose two more people he cares about, he already lost Cyrus and Lysandre, he can't lose Diantha and Cynthia too.
#imagine how paranoid this man actually is at this point tho#like hes always on guard always wanted to be sure that the others are safe#i wanna say that he did ask cynthia a favour to be w him while this whole crisis is still going#but he also knows that cynthia is still a champion and thus she has to be at her own home region if ever smth happens#and cynthia wants nothing more but to be w her friend. she knows how much augustine needed the comfort#and the moment cynthia wasnt there. sycamore finally saw diantha again#just ncmdbfkdnd oughhh#this au will be the death of me too hahaha#villain diantha au#an ask and an answer#thenawidow

Arceus or Genesect for the mythical asks!
@gotta-pet-em-all
So I got asked the Genesect Question twice! I'm gonna start with that one, then!
"What is something you've had for a long time and how has it changed?"
The first thing that came to mind is my favourite hoodie, honestly. I bought it during my first week in Unova and still wear to this day. I've sewn like ten patches on it over the years! My favourite one is probably the one I made myself. I just scribbled "NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE" on an old white glove, cut it out and sewed it right in the middle of the chest lmao.
I also got the Arceus Question re: religious beliefs!
And oh boy, that one's actually sort of a fun story? Or, uh, interesting at least? I think?
You see, my family is kinda descended from the Pearl Clan, and we're... pretty proud of that heritage! I grew up on a bunch of stories and folktales from Ye Olde Hisui. I always sort of latched onto the ones about the Ten Nobles? I'm not sure if those are common knowledge outside of Sinnoh or like. Mega mythology buffs.
Basically there's this story passed down the clans about how, Way Back When, there was a hero blessed by Arceus, and they had ten Pokémon who were Also Blessed By The Creator. Supposedly, up until a while ago, the Clans actually took care and partnered with descendants from those ten - we call them the Nobles! Unfortunately all of them are extinct by now. But they are Very Well Documented in our clan history, to say the least -
(hence my going "By the Ten" in a post earlier!)
The flute songs are still around today! I know the one for Lady Sneasler by heart, lmao

The Sword & The Shield.
May awoke smiling, before the realisation hit her that it was all a dream.
Dreams were something she wasn't familiar with; after all her time under the water, she had failed to differ between the two. A constant state of life and death, held by the threads by her sole remaining Pokémon.
Roselia had stayed in her Poké Ball, taking a well deserved rest.
May should've also rested. But, of course, she was haunted by nightmares and memories.
Of Team Aqua, unleashing a flood across the whole of Hoenn. And, thankfully, only Hoenn.
May was brought out of her brooding by Dusk, smiling at her while putting a cup of tea next to her.
She knew better than to speak, her grip on language faded, so she just smiled back, her lips twitching.
"You know, you're getting better much faster than I had thought," Dusk commented. "Then again, we're a resilient bunch, aren't we?"
May nodded. It was true; it was the only way to explain her ability to survive underwater, and to live Ingrained in the ocean's depths.
"I, ah, also realised I never told you about myself; seo, um." she cleared her throat. "Hi, I'm Dawn Berlitz-Glimmer, or just Dusk, current Champion of Sinnoh. Nice to meet you."
...Huh, another Champion.
Taking a piece of paper, wobbly hands wrote on it. After a minute, she showed to Dusk.
'May Sapphire, Champion of Hoenn.'
"You're also a Champion?" Dusk quickly recovered from her slight surprise, smiling again. "That makes another one; the Champion of Galar, Gloria, is also here. In case you meet her, be prepared for her accent; it's a little... ah, strong."
May nodded. Then wrote, 'Why help?'
A roll of the eyes was her first reply, followed by a verbal one: "May, anyone would've helped... and, well, I guess I just never learn to leave others be."
A small laugh came from the Hoenn girl. Then, she wrote, 'I'm amazed that an inn is still standing, after... that.'
Dusk looked away. Then clicked her tongue. "About that... everything is okay."
...
'WHAT.'
"Hey, don't look at me!" putting her hands up, Dusk looked equally as confused. "I also remember the news about the Great Flood, but here,"
Taking out her phone, she showed the page she was on, 'The Great Flood of Hoenn'; the only articles on there was about the attempted flooding of Hoenn, stopped by a girl who hasn't been seen for 3 weeks.
May looked at it, wiping her eyes, but the words never changed.
How...?
Writing again, her hand writing getting uneasy, she turned the notepad ('Thank you, impulsive thoughts of buying it,' she thanked herself) to Dusk. 'How?'
The Sinnoh girl shrugged. "I have an idea, but nothing concrete yet; off topic, but don't you think it's time to stretch your legs?"
...She isn't wrong.
--------------------
It wasn't the only change that Dusk noticed.
She just thought her memories were out of order, but no, she remembers everything as both Dawn and Akari; meaning, something or someone tampered with the memories of people.
The second thing she noticed was the Champion of Kanto: Not the mysterious and silent Red, but the confidant and equally mysterious Leaf, a girl who went the same path as Red, just as, well, herself. Additionally, while Red was an only child, Leaf had a younger sister, Green, who was the embodiment of the phrase, 'Gotta catch 'em all!'
Things weren't making sense; either a cosmic joke, or something else entirely.
For now, though, she and May were stretching their legs, away from eyes of others. May was quick to bounce back, perhaps a wobble or two, but quick for someone who stayed trapped for so long.
Pokémon Trainers are just built different, she guesses.
It was... peaceful. Amongst the greeny. Something told Dusk it was going to be broken.
"Well, looky 'ere!"
Called it.
Approaching them, a set of bagpipes around her neck, was the Champion of Galar, Gloria Yuuri Arrmour. She and Dusk met beforehand, when the former visited Sinnoh and was surprised at how different the weather was. According to her, the weather in Galar is, 'Shite all year 'round, an' almos' neva nice, ayither.'
That was the other thing; she spoke coherently... just with a strong accent and a tendancy to swear ever other sentence.
Offering a confused wave, May gave an uneasy smile. Dusk gave a small wave, face back to neutral. "Hello again, Glo'. Had enough battles for one day?"
"From you, that's a rich statem'unt, an' only Marine can call me that; bu' no, aye needed fresh air." brown eyes going to May, she raised a brow. "An' 'o's this? Never took ya for tha type to go aroun'."
"This is May, Champion of this region; she's been out of commission for a while, and so I've been taking care of her." It wasn't a lie, per say. Most of it was correct, even.
"...Oh." Gloria seemed taken aback at the new information. Grunting to clear her throat, she tried again, looking at May, but not into her eyes. "Er, sorry, then. I, er... yeah."
"Gloria, I'm not going to send out Empoleon, relax."
"I kno', I kno', jus' be'n tryin'a tone down a lil'..."
"'Tone it down'? ...Well, I won't pry; wouldn't look good on me; anyways, do you want something to eat? Me and May were going to head back to put room."
A shrug. "Oh, why tha 'eck not? Gunna hafta ea' sumthin' ta'day."
----------------------
Gloria wasn't sure of what to make of the May gal.
Thin and boney, yet a bonny in her own right; and unlike that nosy Hilda, is much more quiet in comparison.
Then again, knowing if she joked, May actually can't talk.
Gloria almost wished the weirdness of the world left her be.
Almost.
----------
"Alrigh', now try this."
"FUCK!"
"There ya go, girl!"
Dusk tiredly looked over from the desk she was sitting by, rolling Torterra's Poké Ball in her hand. "I thought Nurse Joy said May should let her voice naturally recover."
"Oh, ligh'en up, ya stick in tha mud! I mean, c'mon, d'ja really think she'd wai' a moment sooner?"
May, her voice box healed through a mix of Nurse Joy's efforts (and no short part of persuasion on Dusk's part), chuckled, a sound that was a new and refreshing sound to hear. "I... well, wouldn't say that... but, Dusk, it's nice to talk again, you know...? Besides, I need to let out my anger one way or another..."
"...I swear to... oh, who am I kidding? Arceus is probably laughing at me."
"Woah there, sayin' ol' A's name ain't gonna get ya above twen'y, Dusk."
Dusk moved like lightning, appearing in front of Gloria, towering of her with sapphire eyes looking far older than they should peering down. "Gloria. I have met God. I know him, because he sent me back in time to complete the Pokédex."
"..."
"...Nah, I'm kidding." Leaning back into her chair, she shrugged. "Maybe I'm just being overdramatic; take your time, May. You have a lot of it; at least, well, until you need to be back as Champion."
May nodded back. She only hopes that this world, if it can be called that, has her old team in a Box.
