So i know we all like to hc that legolas knew at least aragorn before the quest, or the elves of imlardis.

But honestly, au in which legolas is genuinely just some random elf that showed up to deliver a message, was roped into the council and saw the most amazing oppurtunity to fuck with everyone and took the elf spot in the party?

Like, no-one knows who tf he is, he’s just a messenger (no one knows he’s thranduil’s son) and elrond gave him a seat at the council out of indulgence. And then this one motherfucker no one knows ends up joining one of, if not the most, important quest in ME.

Legolas, knowing damn well no one’s got a clue who tf he is: hold on, i sense an opportunity to do the funniest shit ever.

And after he volunteered himself, it’s not like elrond can just go: no, wait a minute.

Legolas has got the audacity. He’s sensing all the imlardis elves’ daggers in their eyes and is full on cackling in his head.

They are having a horrible time and legolas is thriving!

The walkers themselves don’t know untill after the quest.

I volunteer as a recess monitor at my kids' school once a week, and while I was there today, my youngest kid's teacher pulled me aside and said that my kid had informed her that I was a "Tolkien expert" (they're reading the Hobbit in class right now) and could I advise her about a few things? 😅 Oh man. Like, I would not call myself a Tolkien "expert"... at ALL, haha... I would not say "expert!" I mean, I'm a FAN! And I had to try to explain this to the teacher, because apparently my child thinks I'm a foremost Scholar in Elvish or something, and has been telling everybody as much. 😂😭

For months, he had been playing the part. Allowing Elgar'nan to believe he had broken his spirit and turned the heart of the rebellion in his favor. But Solas had a game, and tonight, he would win it.

Maybe it was petty, but he didn't care. What was life without a little bit of fun? It might have bristled every time he had to give Elgar'nan a compliment or admit his past stupidity for ever trying to deny his glory. But it would all be worth it now.

Solas sought him when the clock drew near to the midnight hour. It would soon be a new year, and Elgar'nan would be in a good mood—reminiscing on all his splendid achievements over the ages and the countless more to come. He found him easily. On the balcony to his personal quarters, overlooking his empire.

"You are aware of the tradition of your subjects on the hour of the new year?" Solas asked, his way of announcing himself. But he did not wait for a response. He drew close and ignored the way his stomach revolted at the proximity. As expected, Solas' efforts had paid off, as Elgar'nan did not protest.

Solas raised a hand, putting an enticing finger under the other’s chin to invite him near. "Oh, Lusacan..." Solas purred under his breath, closing his eyes as he leaned in. He could feel Elgar'nan's hot, sour breath ghosting against his lips, and the corners of his own lips turned up in a wicked, wolfish grin. Right before they touched, he paused.

"If only there was someone out there who loved you."

You know how Santa (Scott) says how the elves would lose their job, if he stopped being Santa? I think that’s bs bc the elves did pretty good on their own for that whole year without a Santa in the first film. Disney can’t stick to continuity to save their life, and this is why we create AUs instead of sticking to the canon material. So, what I’m saying is elves can’t disappear if there’s “zero hope for Christmas” and they can do perfectly fine on their own without a Santa. End of rant.
