Apologize to Nnamdi Kanu, declare state of emergence in Kaduna – Reno Omokri tells Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has been asked to apologize to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, if a state of emergency is not declared in Kaduna State. Reno Omokri, a socio-political activist, made the call over El-Rufai’s verbal attacks on Buhari and his government. El-Rufai accused Buhari of allowing evil individuals to use him to fight and defeat the All Progressives Congress, APC. He also claimed the same people were plotting a military takeover. El-Rufai said those people who are using the president as an instrument to defeat the APC are doing so because they failed in their bid to force their own candidate on the party during the June 2022 primaries. The governor was reacting to Buhari’s pronouncement on Naira redesign policy and the ongoing currency crisis Nigerians are experiencing. He stressed that the old naira notes would be valid in Kaduna State. However, Omokri said the governor had defied the directive of the CBN. Ganduje exposes Emefiele’s alleged plan to destroy APC’s chances at elections

The Governor of Kano State on Friday said the naira redesign was never the agenda of the All Progressive Congress, APC, but a calculated plan by the Central Bank Governor, Goodwin Emefiele and a few cronies surrounding President Muhammadu Buhari. He made the allegations during an interview on the BBC Hausa radio service. The currency swap has already put over two hundred million Nigerians under pressure as people in some parts of the country’s southwest have begun protesting the lack of physical cash flow. Ganduje said that by next week if issues regarding the currency issues were not resolved following a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and state governors, the governors would take a step to ensure that the plan by the Central Bank Governor and a few other people do not plunge the country into crisis. Speaking with newsmen after the meeting in Abuja, Ganduje said the CBN Governor, Emefiele acted to deceive President Muhammadu Buhari into redesigning the naira because he failed to make it at the APC primaries which brought Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima as its Presidential and vice presidential candidates. Also speaking the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai said the meeting with the president centres on the lack of flow of cash across the country. “We were told that the CBN so far mopped up over N2trn from circulation but only printed about N300 billion, which is not enough to go round over two hundred million people looking for cash. The President asked for time to have a discussion with the Central Bank and we are going to wait for the aftermath of that meeting.” Governor Elrufai said. Kaduna State House of Assembly passes bill to ensure Pastors and Imams obtain license before preaching in the state . . The Kaduna State House of Assembly today Friday June 7th, passed into law the Religious preaching Regulation law 1984.   . . Speaker of the House, Aminu Abdullahi Shagali while reading the bill during plenary,  said a state inter-faith Regulatory council has been established with a chairman to be appointed by the Governor on the recommendation of the Secretary to the state Government. . . He also said  two members representing the Christians and Muslim faith  are to be  appointed by the Governor among others respectively.  . . According to Abdullahi, the bill when signed into law, will ensure that in each of the 23 local Government areas of the state, a committee to be known as the Local Government Inter-faith Committee must be established. . . The bill states that any person who plays religious cassette or uses a loud speaker for religious purposes between the hours of 11pm to 4am in a public place, and uses a loudspeaker for religious purposes other than inside a church or mosque commits an offence and shall on conviction be liable to imprisonment for a term of not less than two years or pay a fine of less than N200,000 or both.  . . The bill adds that any person who publicly insults or seeks to incite, contempt any religion, by making false statement in such a manner as to be likely to lead to violence and breach of public peace, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than five years,  a fine of not less than N100,000 or both .  . . Emefiele outsmarted El-Rufai, politicians from using redesigned naira to buy votes – Adeyanju reveals

A socio-political activist, Deji Adeyanju has said the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele has outsmarted politicians using the Naira redesign. Adeyanju said Emefiele outsmarted the plot by politicians to unleash stockpiled billions on voters during the upcoming elections. In 2022, CBN announced the redesign of N200, N500, and N1000 notes. Emefiele had fixed December 31st as a deadline for the swap of the old naira notes with the new ones. Following the outcry that greeted the deadline, Emefiele announced an extension of the date till February 10. Amid the deadline extension, the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna alleged that the redesign naira policy was targeted at the party’s presidential drive. However, Adeyanju said politicians would not get the new naira notes during the 2023 elections. In a chat with DAILY POST, Adeyanju said the CBN should stop bank executives from delivering the new notes to politicians. According to Adeyanju: “No matter the tears elRufai and others shed during this period, nobody is delivering new Naira notes to anyone’s house in a Bullion van this time. “New naira redesign is one of the best decisions of the Emefiele-led CBN, Tinubu’s tears notwithstanding. “CBN outsmarted the plot by politicians to unleash stockpiled billions on voters for vote buying.
