you've got to get your hands on those comics when you can, they're excellent! Especially the audiobooks. There's lots of 'extra' content sewn into Gaiman's narration, which is, I think, my favorite part.

He was a bit startled—mostly from being spoken to out of nowhere then the fact that there might be something on him that could be remotely red enough to be blood. “Wha—” Oh, no, wait, no he sees it. That stupid splotch on his shoulder that John thought he had washed out. Well… it’s at least not human but he has a feeling that probably won’t go over uh... very well.

So what clever lie was he going to whip up? “Ah, crap. Nah, were leanin’ up against th’ shop wall the other day, didn’t really notice that they were givin’ it a new paint job if you could believe it.”

Yeah… that’ll have to do.

Matthew really wished that Dream would have gone to see Calliope instead of sending himself. In fact, he had tried to persuade him to go, but the Lord of Dreams was being just as stubborn as ever.

The raven supposed the fact that Dream wanted the muse to be checked on at all was some improvement, based on what he knew of his past. In any case, he was here now. She had not been easy to find, but he supposed that was a good thing, so that she wold not be captured again.

The raven landed, not too far away, perching on a lower hanging branch. He assumed she had seen some strange things in her lifetime, so a talking bird should not be off putting in the least. “Calliope?” He asked, tilting his head to the side ever so slightly.

you're  a  basic  slasher.  not  basic  as  in  boring,  but  that  you're  what  most  people  think  of  when  they  think  of  "slasher".  you're  very  efficient  in  what  you  do,  you  know  what  you  need  to  get  done  and  then  you  get  it  done.  probably  a  semi-tragic  backstory  that  could  have  been  solved  without  killing,  but  whatever  works  I  guess.  you  use  some  kind  of  handheld  blade  to  kill,  and  you're  pretty  good  with  it.  you  aren't  flashy,  but  you  are  well  known.  nice.
