Man I've dragged this on too long, I don't want to go through that again (and possibly a third time if it doesn't change anything).
Theron, give her a hug, she's had a rough day and the writers forgot she has a bleeding heart and hates seeing innocent people die.
All right. Fine. I will forever accept this stupid fate even if it's the wrong decision because this is a MMO and there's no such thing as save states and
WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT RECORD SCRATCH
YOU. YOU WERE STABBED IN THE GODDAMN CHEST
THEN SAHAR SAID AS SHE WALKED AWAY
and then the camera pans back to show Grey look at:
wounded Cathar Lady.
So. Who were you talking about just then Sahar??? Wait... were you talking about my precious Mando MLM Babe? Why not just say his name?
I... You know what. Nevermind. We're at the end. Fine. I just freaked out over nothing apparently.
Okay, I launched the first cutscene I'm into it, going along and then the camera pans over
"Oh hey look, we're hanging out with Rass and--"
"goddamnit I forgot to change her back into her normal outfit ESCESCESC"
Change outfits. Get ready to start the cutscene again. And then
I'm getting nowhere at this rate. As usual.

Honestly, it just feels like the devs gave us whatever it was they had planned for 6.4 and 6.5 in terms of story and put a DLC brand on it... And it's a damn shame, because I probably wouldn't have said a damn thing about the content if it had been branded as a simple story update (even though, I have to admit, the Manaan arc was... Lackluster, to put it delicately)
#swtor 7.0#swtor 7.0 spoilers#swtor spoilers#I'm guessing someone#(and by someone I mean EA)#Absolutely wanted the team to put out a DLC in time for the 10th anniversary#Regardless of the team's actual budget and capabilities#And now we've got this#It's not all bad but it's definitely nowhere near finished#And it's not a DLC ffs#Haven't done Elom yet

im also thinking about that apology scene being like The moment splinter accepts his past, because hes had like. major ups and downs with this. like theres the “greek god” comment about his body and he just in general exudes confidence, but then theres also the whole thing where he is so very obsessed with lou, which earlier could just have been taken as being narcissistic, but really turned out to be like a cover for idolizing a lost past hes really not over being taken from him that he didnt entirely know how to cope with. its even to the point where he didn’t tell his kids he was lou because he didnt want to disappoint his kids about being a Whole Washed Up Rat
this is why im really like. pleased to see his kids being an integral part of his acceptance of what happened: the development from ELOM where the kids made it clear that he was the dad they loved unconditionally, him and his kids really valuing time together (like how in the movie return episodes the boy were excited about hugs which is. really cute. or the destruction durbey), splinter shredding his ancestors because they said the boys should be martyrs (and the fact he didnt train them: if he didnt believe in the shredder thing, he saw no point to make them Warriors and just let them be kids, as shown in the train episode where they just lost their personalities and were horrible fighters because of it)
then this apology scene where splinter, depsite every bit of trouble and misstep he’s had while raising the turtles due to being thrust into it inwillingly, truly realizes he’s doesnt regret them being apart of his life and its like. a really selfless moment for this dude who use to be a pop start diva to both admit and mean that, as well as a sign of maturity he seems to lack at times. he’s just a really great character and dad and his son like emphaize this so well
#grounded grumbles#rottmnt#rottmnt spoilers#splinter and draxum like live in my mind rent free 24/7 babey and have been since elom

SPOILERS
Ok so I’ve been thinking about how the giant heads view warriors like Draxum before the alchemy. Note that this is completely theoretical because we barely know anything about the heads.
The heads seem really bias in what certain yokai should and shouldn’t do, like how they say ‘warriors shouldn’t mix with alchemy’ implying that once they see someone in one prefixed profession they see no reason to do other things.
They see Draxum as Draxum sees the turtles, the should be controlled soilders.
Donnie and Draxum comparisons are nothing new but I would personally love a moment of Draxum realizing how he treated/treats the boys is the same way the heads treat and viewed him, the same realization that Donnie has when Mikey compared him to splinter.
But this should be a middle or final stepping stone for Draxum, it shouldn’t be rushed but rather a future point in time when he truly understands and feels that the boys are truely his family and when he realizes that he would’ve reason with the heads to atleast have safety precautions for humans rather than the heads mocking him for what he felt is right.
Draxum by no means becomes good guy but instead does what’s good not just for yokai kind but for what the boys are passionate about.
And with that ominous thing possibly own by big mama kidnapping the villains we may get that villains turtle teamup with Draxum this time to help instead of being the threat.
#rottmnt#rottmnt spoilers#spoilers#tmnt#draxum#im open to disuss this rember its a theory and will most likely change with more content given#feel free to add#ELOM#Hopefully meatsweats isnt dead so this wont fall apart

SWTOR 7.1
Non-spoilery/technical stuff first, then spoilery stuff under the cut.
Overall, the dialogue choices feel good -- there’s a spectrum of how you want to play the char and whether you yourself remember previous lore.
There’s definitely an increasingly noticeable gap in quality for new NPCs vs. the player and earlier NPCs (Kira, for example). They really need to give the base textures an upgrade, both for the chars and for their clothes.
I would say there’s about another 2 hours or so of non-repeatable content, with more to unlock with rep gains.
The main story is not a lot but it is significant --it’s very densely packed. It is disappointing that this was not in 7.0 as intended; I still think this was inadequate as an expac for endgame, however. (I’ve already expressed my appreciation the for the leveling revamp).
Manaan has more content than I thought it would. To get to Manaan -- don’t go to regular Manaan. It’s like Corellia and its special daily area. So get on your ship, travel to the planet, and then you have the option to go visit Ahto City (where you met Theron or Lana for the first time in the SoR lead-up) or you go to the daily area.
Do the purple missions first -- Captain Kasto gives you toys to wreck shop faster. Then do the dailies/yellow ones. Don’t pick everything up when you land. And yes, you drown if you touch the water XD
You can still fall through the earth on Elom, but only halfway -- ./stuck fixes it.
Minor camera transition issues - things get snagged if you skip through dialogue.
The Manaan rep items are going to make people with the Manaan stronghold happy asf. With the Baby Progenitor tank on cartel market, you could make an entire shrine to the KOTOR Manaan plotline.
DISLIKE: There are no LS/DS points for your decisions here. Grrr.
Spoilers for 7.1 below
TALOS!!! Talk nerdy to me!
The two Twi’lek siblings remind me of the sibs from the Mandalorian jail episode -- not in terms of demeanor for the padawan, but in the general premise of sister breaks brother out of jail....and then immediately run into the arms of Heta Col and the rogue Mandalorians.
Keeping Malgus on fleet is so kriffin’ dumb. I will sing this song til I die.
Protective Theron <3
....but boy, is the commander an idiot facing Malgus alone - and you can’t opt out of being an idiot.
I do like that the player can be self-aware enough to know that Malgus is changing tactics and that has to be explained, somehow.
Arcann, hey guy.
...dude, the last time I cleared my head, I ended up camping with Satele and Marr. Oh, I’m going to my ship --
wait, where’s my ship. Fuck. I think that’s a graphics error.
AHA the convergence point of the plotlines. How exactly this knits together, unsure, but at least something is tying back onto itself.
I like what they are doing with Kira and her past as a Child of the Emperor. I wonder what the romanced letter looks like in comparison (if there is one).
Most of us know the IRL reasons Scourge is not there (actor was sex chatting with minors). We’re either going to get Scourge “cardinally changed” by whatever he finds out there (new voice actor and model?), or they’re going to snuff him.
Manaan area feels good -- lots of content.

oooh that would work. if they were both in the cave until post game, they would have just heard about the invasion. and any information about the hoaxe himself sparse and filled with rumor? (they arent going to tell everyone that the big bad became half tree and they just left him there, so only explorers or roaches would be able to tell that info)
now iirc, the elder roach is still up there and can probably give them the deets about who hoaxe is why he's there w/e. tho i think it would be more interesting if they didn't, and elom and tekci slowly got that info out of him while they wander around nearby? and just come check in on him periodically.
kind of a "oh hey we brought you some water you look thirsty and are kind of wilting a bit? also did you know that the giants have xyz?" situation. and hoaxe just hast to either ignore them and suffer, or be helped at the mercy of strangers who could betray him/leave him at any time.
and im sure that's a real fear for him? cause like the art book comic he gets saved by wasps, only for them to treat him like garbage for no reason? (other than his garbo personality im sure). as far as we know, he did nothing to deserve being taunted and physically attacked.
i'm sure he would be reluctant to accept any kind of help, on the assumption that they are only helping him to tear him down later. how long would he be able to refuse kindness?
would he tell them all the horrible things he's done in attempt to get them to leave? ooooh does he even know his actions suck he just wanted revenge. or does he have a hero of his own story kind of mentality? hmmmmmm having thoughts about hoaxe now
What if, somehow, Hoaxe got stuck mid-transformation after his defeat? Part tree, part fly. A horrific sight. Painful but perpetual.
Would anyone tend to him? Would anyone try to help him flourish? And maybe change? Without any magic, he couldn't do anything even if he got help and the tree part of him grew stronger.
#bug fables spoilers#chit chat#haven't had a lot of thoughts about hoaxe... gonna have to let those thoughts marinate.#oh my fav trope of reluctantly domesticated villian#i genuinely had no idea who elom and tekci were... i had to look them up and then do the sidequest lol#tekci strikes me as the kind of person to ramble abt whatever she seen bc she thinks it's so exciting to her#and she doesn't really care if anyone is actually listening#someone please get elom some therapy tho jeez. go get some sunlight and exercise dude pls im begging its good for u promise

First impressions on 7.0 story
I did the story on both Imperial and Republic sides, but only one time, so my thoughts and impressions might change after another replay. In general, it felt lackluster. Not without some bright moments, but 7.0 leaves more questions than answers and confuses me even more.
Spoilers under the cut!
Since I don't have backup characters (not main characters, so if something bugs I won't be disappointed) to experience new story, I took Airistan (DS-neutral Knight, Republic loyalist) and Jett (neutral-light BH, still unsure about loyalist/saboteur thing, both are terrible options for her, so I have 2 versions rolled with different options, today it's Imperial saboteur).
Didn't expect Manaan to be first, kinda figured it would be a story between the overall plot with Malgus and war. I didn't know what to expect from this plotline other than "we need kolto!" for either Republic or Empire, and, honestly, the game didn't get me invested. I don't know how to put it, but when Onslaught came out with the whole deal about Meridian complex, I had a sense of importance of either defending or destroying it. With Manaan I didn't have this feeling. Maybe it was my sleep deprived brain (can't rule it out), maybe it was lack of necessity of this mission in overall plot. Other than one "if we had that kolto shipment we'd get you more soldiers" line, Manaan's story don't have impact on anything else, at least so far. I'm willing to wait until next story updates release and see if the result of mission on Manaan has any more consequences.
Underwater mission was fun though. Gave me a little nostalgia from KOTOR.
New area looks good (even if it burns my computer and I have to lower shadows to get better fps and not hurt my eyes). Also happy about characters using their class ship.
Republic
Glad to see Arn again, congratulations on passing the trials and becoming Knight, even if his doubts are still there. Too bad Airistan can't help him much with his struggles as a Jedi (because she doesn't care about Jedi path).
Colonel Gallo is cool, hope she appears again (but pls don't make me come back to Manaan if it's gonna be so slow again).
Surprised that Airistan chose to save people instead of kolto, but in retrospective it makes sense - kolto isn't exactly a resource that's going extinct, and gaining trust by saving Selkath over kolto can help in future relations with Selkath. Airistan is devoted to win the war by any means, but she is also clever. Usually.
Empire
Ooops, another Dark Councilor is dead on Jett's watch, must be a coincidence. Shouldn't have gotten overly ambitious. In other words, Darth Norok didn't impress me.
Colonel Korrd wasn't super interesting at first, but with time I got more invested. Jett even didn't expose him and told to go Odessen.
Anri is great as always. I felt shame when she said "I know I can trust you".
Kolto was sent to Odessen, but to be fair, Jett would do so regardless of saboteur/loyalist status.
I still have characters ready to do Manaan, so maybe my opinion will change.
(about Darth Nul) "Even so... I struggle to think of anyone else with the power to wipe someone from history so completely" ever heard of Black Codex? (people who main Agents, pls tell me that they make a comment about this)
Then we finally get to the main plot of the, ahem, expansion.
Elom is even better looking, but I could not get through this flashpoint without lowering graphics. A few more updates, and even NASA computers won't handle SWTOR at highest graphics.
Anyway, I'm intrigued by Darth Nul and hope we learn more about her work in future.
Absolutely didn't expect to capture Malgus so early on, seeing how he is the main hype about this expansion, but it's not the last time we see him, plus they seem to focus more on Sa'har now.
Republic
Okay, but you can't convince me that Tau and Lana's bickering isn't them flirting.
New girl gang shot just dropped! (maybe not as iconic, but still cool)
Love all the Jedi who come to capture Malgus. Arn, Tau, Aryn, Gnost-Dural, SATELE HELL YEAH!!!
"Malgus is too dangerous to keep alive. We should kill him while we have the chance" ah yes, good old Airistan, finally back.
Empire
[Not this guy...] Heh, poor Rivix, Jett gives no cares about you.
"If he crosses us, we kill him" even better xD, making life difficult for Acina.
Rivix's interactions with Lana are fun as well.
Was wondering how non Force-users go about Malgus throwing a big ass rock at them (Jedi and Sith simply stop it with the Force and throw back at him), such an iconic slide.
So, Imperial cameos - Xarion, Krovos, as expected; even Acina decided to show up? (or Vowrawn if he's the Emperor, I guess).
As much as Jett enjoyed taunting Malgus on Ossus and Corellia, this time it would be outright asshole behavior, and she kinda understands not wanting to serve the Empire.
Lord Eldrid... hm, name drop and possibility to replace Savik on the Dark Council? I have a feeling we'll see Eldrid again.
In general, story was very short, yet at the same time it felt so long to get there (especially Manaan). I have mixed feelings about it: on one hand, not much happened, and Manaan didn't feel overly important, on another hand, I loved some characters, and story seems to have only started, so here's hoping it gets better with new story releases.
My thoughts on all technical stuff (combat styles, conquest, GS 2 and all that) will be later, as there's still many new things to try.
#this is short and nothing too specific bc i will play more and form my opinion better#swtor#swtor 7.0 spoilers#oc:airistan#oc:jett#manaan felt like a slog tbh#and i was annoyed when we had to backtrack in flashpoint

Please Be Fair to Other SWTOR Players
With Legacy of Sith being only a day old and riddled with bugs (as to be expected). For anyone who has managed to get into the server yesterday and played Manaan arc and Elom, please put in a spoiler warning tag.
This includes short videos of gameplay, cutscenes, screenshots, and even GIFs.
Some such as myself are waiting for the bugs to be 90% cleared or the game-breaking ones removed.
Please do not spoil the story for either side, may it be Republic or Imperial loyalist or saboteur.
Again, please be fair to those not going near the story until the bugs are mostly cleared. Put that spoiler warning onto your posts.

since its been about a week, ill go ahead and put my thoughts on legacy of the sith below, i think ive caught most of the spoiler tags, but if ive missed any please let me know!
starting with the story, i dont want to harp too much on the length, but it was... really very short huh. about the length of return to iokath or ossus, which is weird bc those were both between expac patches.
the two parts of the story really dont fit together, considering the relatively short amount of content, i think it would have been better to focus on either the war in regards to manaan, or on the malgus storyline. trying to do both left each part feeling underdeveloped and incomplete.
and considering the marketing content and the literal title of the expac, id have voted for dealing with malgus. (also elom is so pretty id die to be able to actually spend more time exploring there)
as for what actually happened in the story... not much did. it really felt more like filler. no narrative progression seemed to happen at all, we’re back where we were post onslaught more or less. yeah, we caught malgus, but we didnt learn anything abt his plans. or darth nul. or that twi’lek padawaan.
all that makes it feel like we’re just going in circles.
my sister mentioned the flashpoint felt like where the expac should have started, and i have to agree.
caveat that i have only played the imperial storyline so far, perhaps some of these thoughts will change once i run pubside, and if they do ill be sure to come back and edit them
now about mechanics/ gameplay changes of course i love the idea of the combat styles, however the class changes leave... a lot to be desired. besides the fact that none of the classes seem to be affected to the same degree as each other, most of the changes seem to be made with the intent of balancing pvp, which, for a more or less strictly pve player, SUCKS.
i lucked out being an assassin main where most of the changes are just annoying rather than completely gutting, but knowing other classes got much worse isnt great.
the ui is... it looks weird, considering only some of the elements are changed. and its a bit on the eye straining side. also the character screen is too big!! its just too big. and you cant even do anything to change that.
not to mention the changes to the outfit designer just make it clunkier. i cant preview and outfit without applying it, and also somethings refuse to be un- color matched. which. is certainly frustrating and i find it hard to believe thats intended.
overall... not too positive. which sucks. :/ hopefully things improve as they receive player feedback and fix bugs.
#lots spoilers#legacy of the sith spoilers#swtor spoilers#swtor legacy of the sith spoilers#swtor 7.0 spoilers#swtor lots spoilers#7.0 spoilers#meredith plays swtor#kept this to thoughts strictly abt the expac#my gripes with the saboteur storyline still stand but those are for another post#also didnt go into detail abt the actual events of the story#didnt feel like they were too necessary#am currently trying to get a character besides my pub main to this point in the story#which will take longer than i thought since now all the enemies for onlaught are. for some reason. 75.#which is funny. bc onlaught is supposed to start at lvl 70. :))))
