so here are my answers:

1. i think she fell in love with her during season 3. however, i don’t think she fully understood that she’s in love with her. this is because she misunderstands platonic and romantic attraction, so she was thinking her feelings for mike were romantic and max was platonic when it was the other way around. that’s why she didn’t realize she likes girls :)

2. el loves max’s confidence, and her ability to know herself and what she wants/likes. she also loves max’s style. max loves el’s powers, sure, but it’s much more than that. max loves that el is so kind, courageous and fearless. she loves how el is willing to put herself on the line for the people she loves. she loves her for who she is, not what her powers are. even without her powers max would love her just as much.

3. some hcs of their s3 sleepover:

- they painted each other’s nails and did each other’s hair

- they gossiped about the boys (and max gossiped about the stuff happening at school to el)

- el opened up a little about some of her trauma and max was there for her

- they sneaked around the house at night and when they got hungry stole food from the kitchen while hopper was asleep 💀

4. they would both support each other no matter what, and they would always find a way to do things together. if el needs to take time to get to know herself and who she is, max would be more than willing to wait for her. they understand each other’s needs and wants and have healthy communication :)

5. max probably felt so sad :( you could tell she really admired el. it was really sad to watch :((

6. i feel like their first actual date would be at a carnival or amusement park! it would be so cute and they could try out lots of fun stuff together :,)

7. i feel like everyone in the party would be supportive. it would be hard for lucas (poor lucas :() but he would be supportive too (honestly in my ideal world elumax is ftw). el’s family would 100% be supportive. el, will, jon, joyce, hop would all be so supportive of her relationship with max. i’m not too sure about max’s family tho…i feel like her mom might be supportive too. if billy and his dad were there i don’t think they would be supportive at all >:(

8. hmm…i think max probably didn’t realize until later on that she likes girls. maybe el was her bi awakening, actually. it could be she had suspicions about her sexuality as she found herself attracted to certain characters on television but idk

Nancy/Max are the little spoons but they will never admit and every time Robin or El mentions something about it they will give them THE glare

El and Max play with each other's hair until they sleep

Nancy likes when Robin lays her head in her lap when they are watching tv or just having a lazy moment

Max melts whenever El plays with the little hairs in the back of her neck

whenever they are cuddling, Robin will say the most random things; from love confessions to crazy conspiracy theories and Nancy just giggles and let her speak

Max hums softly El's favorite songs until she falls asleep

El steals Max shirts all the time and Max loves to see it on El, specially when they are cuddling

Sometimes, when Nancy is the big spoon, she will tease Robin, gently running her fingers on her abdomen and waistline

Elmax cuddling headcanons?

(Haven't though too much about it, as I am not as hyperfocused on Elmax BUT I still enjoy answering so I'm going to try my best ^^)

El is the little spoon majority of the time for sure

In my brain El is just a huge cuddler. Like constantly, no matter where they are she likes to cuddle up into Max's side, cling to her arm, just constantly be close to her.

Max Loves to cuddle El right back

After the Vecna stuff El refused to leave Max's side. In the hospital she would cuddle up as close as possible to Max without hurting her just so she knew she was there.

El never cuddled much with Mike. Maybe it was a boy thing? But now that she's with Max they're glued to the hip.

They both like to be the small spoon when sick (Even though Max refuses to admit it)

El likes when Max runs her fingers through her hair when they cuddle.

El likes to trace Max's freckles while they cuddle

Even when they were just friends they cuddled a lot (It's always been a comfort thing for them)

They cuddled during their first sleep over (argue with the wall)

Hi anon!

I feel like Robin would be closer to Max while Nancy would be closer to Eleven (Though they both love and care for the two younger girls equally).

Both Nancy and Robin were closest to Max at first (Robin could just feel the queer vibes coming off that girl, not even counting her rainbow-striped shirts or bedsheets).

Both Max and El had a crush on Nancy/Robin at some point in time.

Nancy was definitely Max's gay awakening, you can't convince me otherwise.

Robin - at first - is very insecure about her and Nancy's relationship, so when she notices something blooming between Elmax, she hesitates on talking with either of them, instead bringing it up to Nancy who assures all three girls that even if they liked boys before, that doesn't make feeling something for a girl any less valid.

Nancy teaches Max to shoot.

Robin teaches El to flirt ;)

All four of them harp on Steve about how they have more bitches than him.

Robin consoles Max about her having lingering feelings for Lucas, even though she's technically dating El (The two broke up when Max realised - Lucas was cool with it - but she's having regrets). She can't comprehend why she loves both of them and questions if she's cheating on El by even considering the idea of getting back with Lucas.

Robin explains polyamory to Max, who immediately feels comfort with the label.

"As long as there's consent from both sides and no one gets hurt, I say why not?" - Robin at some point.

Ronance just loves their adopted children / sister figures.

Robin and El duo headcanons?

Okay that's an interesting duo! I haven't given it much thought tbh but yes I do think that while both El and Max were mourning for who they lost, Robin and Steve, though not having much idea on how to cheer them up, did take a step forward in an attempt to do so.

They really didn't know El well, sure, Steve hung out with Max and the other kids maybe a couple of times, but Robin? She didn't even know El, yet it was her who offered the idea.

Though it would be a little awkward to just hang around with El and Max so both of them took the group out on a long drive, sure enough, all of them wouldn't fit in Steve's car, so they decided to invite Jonathan and Nancy too, Jonathan drove the other car.

A few weeks later they planned a sleepover in Steve's house too, when his parents were out of town and pulled an all nighter, and even though they did have a couple movies selected for the night, they did not watch a single one because they just indulged into deep conversations all night long, with tears and laughter.

Also, I think Robin tutored El for about a month and a half before they moved to California.

Max. She let it slip while they were cuddling and then kinda panicked about it, but her nerves were immediately calmed when El said it back.

Who would have the others picture as their phone background

They both would. On one of their dates, Max snaps a picture of El and sets it as her background. Once El realizes, she does the same thing. (In a modern au lol)

Who leaves notes written on the fog in the bathroom mirror

They both do. El starts it by writing little messages every so often, like “I love you,” “E + M,” or “Max” with a bunch of hearts next to it. Max calls her cheesy but eventually starts leaving them too, although they aren’t always romantic. Sometimes she slides her hand down the mirror to make it look like a bloody handprint, accompanied by ominous notes like “help,” or “he’s coming.”

Who buys the other cheesy gifts

El. She’s a huge hopeless romantic. She gets inspired by movies and bases a lot of her gifts and date ideas based on those. She’d definitely be the type of girlfriend to give huge bouquets and heart shaped chocolate boxes with little hand written notes attached to them. Max has a box of all the teddy bears El has given her for holidays and sometimes for no reason at all.

Who initiated the first kiss

El. It was during one of their sleepovers late at night, when they were lying in the bed giggling about anything that came to their minds. It got quiet for a moment and El just went for it. It felt right to her. Max was super shocked and confused, but she was over the moon obviously.

Who kisses the other awake in the morning

El, most of the time. She’s a natural early riser, and after she’s had her morning coffee, she loves to wake Max up with a bunch of kisses all over her face (normally resulting in a groan and “five more minutes”). There are a few rare occasions though, when Max wakes up first and returns the favor.

Who starts tickle fights

They both do. Ever since El discovered tickling, she started randomly running up to Max and attacking her with tickles. After a while Max started seeking revenge. Now it’s a challenge for who ever can make the other laugh the longest before they break free.

Who surprises the other in the middle of the day at work with lunch

El. She likes spontaneously showing up from time to time with a box of a sandwich, fruit, and sometimes candy. Occasionally though, when El is having a bad day, Max will show up with a plate of eggos or a bouquet.

Mostly Max. She had never dated a girl before and was unsure of what the “rules” were, and was really scared of messing things up. (El had never dated a girl either but was less nervous about the social aspects and stuff, due to her upbringing.)

Who kills/takes out the spiders

They both do. When they see a spider, it’s on sight. They show no mercy.

Who loudly proclaims their love when they’re drunk

El. She’s a very giggly drunk and loves to go on and on about her amazing girlfriend. Max thinks it’s very cute but knows it’s a sign to get her home and drinking water.

Ok, yeah, well, one headcanon I have is that El is completely fascinated by Max's freckles. Like, she literally stares at them, and touch then costantly. Max is surprised by this, but she surely doesn't mind this kind of contact.

Also, they both had big crushes on Nancy and Robin at some point. (Might make a more detailed post about this topic)

And they cuddle, they cuddle A LOT. They both love being as close to each other as possible.

Max gives El a lot of forehead and hair kisses, and El loves it.

And El definitely loses it when Max cuts her hair. Like, she knew that Max was pretty, but she didn't know she could get even MORE pretty.

Every outsider who sees them thinks something like: "these two are surely like sisters"

Everytime someone says this to them, El and Max just agree, grining in secret because if only they knew....

In the "Max finds El in the woods AU", how would Max and El get together?

It's no secret that I don't like how Milkvan's first kiss happened, and that's exactly why I see Elmax being completely different.

Max's childhood is similar to El's in some ways, so she would know how to read El and her needs better.

I see the first elmax kiss happening only at the winter ball, 1 year after they met, so that they could actually develop a relationship; a friendship, before they understood that there was a feeling there, even if it was initially just a crush

at that point they would already be inseparable, and El would probably be living with Hopper or the Byers.

Either way, Max would always be welcome in the house whenever she wanted to spend time with El, and also because neither Hopper nor the Byers would be able to deny El anything when she cast her puppy eyes on them lol

their relationship would develop in a natural and healthy way, in a way that they would discover things together, in their own time.
