@tolkienocweek Day 6: Background Characters | Elloth
Galadriel’s most beloved handmaiden and Arwen’s closest companion! She has proven herself to be clever and courageous, and talented with elven-craft. She is charged by her mistress with carrying the light of Eärendil into dark places no one else dares to go. She desires to see the world rid of evil, and considers herself highly honoured to be given such a worthy (albeit dangerous) task. Even the smallest Elf can make the greatest difference against the dark power threatening all of Middle-earth.

Brenior
While his daughter is a spitting image of himself, that is where their similarities end.
Brenior, born Alcarin, was the son Mahtan and the younger brother of Nerdanel - only a few hundred years older than his oldest nephew, Maedrhos. He had always been a quiet soul - soft-spoken and gentle, though rather timid in his youth. Easily intimidated and pushed around by other Elflings, and not one to speak out for himself or others. He was described as a coward and softhearted fool, and preferred keeping to himself - spending long hours in the forges alongside his father and, later, brother-in-law. His focus was tools, and anything of use, though he later began making trinkets and toys for his nephews to keep them entertained.
It was a surprise when he agreed to help Fëanor in crafting weapons - something his father disproved of greatly - but he had always been interested in tools of use. While he didn't see the need for weapons, he could understand his brother-in-law's reasonings, and was fascinated by them. Although he was still not a fighter, he would even go on to forge his own sword, Tyelpelango, which would later be named Hathellas, and given to Faegalad by Celebrimbor.
However, despite his interest in helping Fëanor create such weapons, Alcarin stepped back when Fëanor was exiled, and continued to work in the forges on tools and other trinkets. Putting aside his skill for weapons in favor of remaining in the good graces of the Noldor and Valar. He also intended to stay in Valinor as Fëanor rallied the Noldor to leave for Middle-earth, but after Nerdanel pleaded for him to go after her husband and sons to try and change their minds, he agreed to follow. He knew he wouldn't be able to change Fëanor's mind, but he promised to do everything he could to keep his nephews safe - foolishly believing they would one day return. And when they reached Alqualondë, he realized too late he was in over his head.
Alcarin was a reluctant participant in the First Kinslaying, though a participant nonetheless, but could not bring himself to burn the swanships with his kin - already wishing he had heeded Námo's warning, and regretting the blood he had drawn. Still, he remained with his kin, determined to uphold his promise to his sister, even as tragedy struck swiftly. Even as he began to lose his nephews, and even as he began to realize their Oath was bound to doom them all.
It was his capture by the Orcs, and later rescue by a band of Silvan Elves, that made him begin to question his own loyalty and his own desires. He still wanted to protect his nephews, to be able to find a way to get them back to Valinor without death, but... he was growing weary. He had become a soldier over the years, but he was not a soldier at heart. He yearned to create, not destroy, and he was growing frustrated with his nephews' decisions. And, in truth, he had fallen for Ellother - one of the Elves who had saved him, and the Elleth who had taken it upon her to nurse him back to health. The one who had given him the name Brenior. With her and the other Silvan Elves, he was free from the worry of what would become of his kin as their Oath tore them apart. As much as he didn't wish to leave them - to leave her - he knew he needed to, even despite Ellother returning his affections. His loyalty to his nephews, and his promise to his sister, won out in the end, and he returned to them. Upon returning to his kin, he kept the name Brenior, and became more outspoken. He kept his kindness and soft-spoken tone, but was harder to be pushed around. Firm on doing right after everything they had done, and chose to follow Maedhros.
Yet, he followed his nephews to Doriath, but had no intention of participating in the Second Kinslaying. Instead, he had followed in the hopes of stopping it before it could begin, and when that failed, tried to talk sense into Curufin. But, his nephew only grew enraged with Brenior's interference, and attacked him - scarring his face and sentencing him to exile, lest he fancied death if he chose to remain. Brenior fled for his life, and headed east - hoping to find Ellother and her kin once again. Hoping they would allow him to stay, though in his heart he felt he deserved no place with them for everything he had done. And, he did find them again, and they accepted him with open arms. He admitted his wrongdoings to Ellother, believing he was unworthy of her love, but she refused to waver from his side, and within a year of him joining her, they married.
In mid-Second Age, Faegalad was born, but Brenior and Ellother's joy was shortlived. They noticed an increase of Orcs in the forest surrounding where they lived, and he suggested they travel to Eregion - promising that Celebrimbor would welcome them with open arms. Ellother agreed, and together they traveled with their daughter and Ellother's parents, who feared for their safety if they traveled alone, began to make their way to the Elven kingdom. He was looking forward to seeing his grand nephew again, and believed they would be safe within Ost-in-Edhil's borders. Alas, Brenior would never make it to the eastern kingdom, and would be killed by Orcs as he tried to buy Ellother time to escape with their daughter.

Harlindon’s Guard | ValyaBrethil | Closed
@valyabrethil
A stack of letters sat on Fili’s desk once again. The Elloth whose name he was not allowed to know was dues to come soon to take them and send them. After the last misshap with the letters - specifically the one he had coughed blood all over being sent to Glorfindel - He had hidden the letters away until he was ready to send them He was trying to send at most 3 at a time and not jsut a singular one nor the fifty he felt like writing throughout the day.
His door glided open and he could feel the shift of the air. His one good eye looked at the Elloth. She was a healer and a guard as far as he could tell. Not the kind that was in here often to heal him, but she had more like battle khealer knowledge. He jerked away as her cool fingers touched hsi heated face and it took a moment for him to relax as she began to remove the bandages.
It was always disconcerting as he couldn’t see her on that side, plus the cool feeling always startled him. “Gehyith.” Fili called to her as she slowed with the bandages, getting to the area that his wounds had wept through, making the bandages hard and stuck together. “I think tis time for a bath. As Much as I do nay mind filth, it would be best for the wounds, aye?”

I've significantly slowed down with breeding petz, but I've got some dalis to show off today! (but not in-game pics...)
Tumblr media
Aly is 5th gen, and I was gathering up four more to breed them up to 7th gen.
Tumblr media
I had Downpour, the son of Anarchia & Overcast.
And I thought I had Calligraphy, pup of Ink & Paper. Turns out, I hadn't finished that line and was breeding 4th gen Ink to 5th gens. I kept wondering why my pedigree numbers were off. Below is Ink, Paper, and their pup Calligraphy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aly & Downpour & Calligraphy are 5th gens.
I was trying to breed two 3rd gens I have Mirrormere & Honey
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but I kept getting inbreding somewhere. Turns out, Mirrormere is a litter mate of one of Aly's grandfathers. So I dropped Mirrormere out of the line. (Still keeping him, as he's already SGCh.)
Tumblr media
So the rest of the block got filled in with new dalis I just bred with Sindarian words as names. Resulting in Elloth & Eirien.
So this piece-mealed line has 5 5th gen pups:
Aly, Downpour, Calligraphy, Elloth, and Eirien. I actually bred everyone (except the siblings) and tried to decide who to keep that way, but I did get a bit confused doing that. So I probably won't do that again.
In any case, Aly & Calligraphy had Fergenol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Downpour & Elloth had Flamedark.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So that's two more 6th gens added to my crew.
I think I'm counting 15 unrelated 6th gen Dalmatians, which doesn't count any petz that were "replaced" by rebred petz (like Florida, Fabrizio, and Fabienne replaced respectively with Florence, Felix, and Felicity.)
I guess if I get to 16 unrelated 6th gens, I could combine them all together and get an ultimate 10th gen litter. I don't think I'll be doing that (at least not for a while). I don't really have an ultimate goal. I just wanted a variety of lines so I could have several unrelated full pedigree 8th gen litters.

Kurdel,
Let me start by saying I am fine.
There was a minor misscommunication accident. The elves seem to have not known about my problems with the flower Lavender. It was mistakingly put into my bath and i was minorly exposed to it. Thankfully naught ahs come of it other than a few irritations and itches. But please make note that i am nay able to be around that flower as nice as it is for i wish to continue to breathe.
I am now clean also. Not that I wasn't before but I am now scrubbed and smell decent. My hair is still unmanageable as i did not allow the elloth to touch or clean it properly. Ye ken how important ahir is to the dwarrow. I await to wash it until I am well enough to do so on my own or until ye find me and come.
With love, your Kidhuzurâl 2/?
@weheirsofdurin
All the comfort he had been given in the first letter left him with the opening statement of the second. Usually when someone made the statement of being fine it meant something had happened that could make that not be true. He let out a breath when he heard things had not gone as poorly as they could have. He paused long enough to fetch one of his signet rings, taking a moment to string it on a golden chain before settling in to write a letter in return.
Rauro-nin, Well do I remember when you told me of your trouble with lavendar after I had used a soap with its scent to wash my hair. I have been careful to keep it away from you since. I am sorry you were exposed to it once again, though I cannot say I am disappointed they have managed to get you clean.
I have said it before and I will repeat it until you believe me. I would rather have you alive and on the mend than with pristine hair. Your beard and mane will regrow for me to tangle my fingers in and wash for you. Until then, all I will see is the fact that you bravely faced what stood before you. I am doing all I can to clear the roads for you to return to me as soon as you are strong enough to travel. Then I will wash and braid your hair, and pamper you until you have returned to your full health.
I have enclosed one of my signet rings on a chain for you to wear whilst you continue to heal. I hope it brings you comfort as well as helps to open any doors you may find closed while you stay with the elves. I am trusting you with my reputation with my people I know you will not abuse my position.
Please, continue resting so we may be runited soon.

But not all of Denweg’s people were so eager to leave their home by the Anduin, and Elloth Denethor’s sister was among them. In after days they were called the Tawarwaith, the Wood-elves, and were known as a strange and reclusive folk.

the line of elros ◈ chieftains of the dúnedain ◈ headcanon disclaimer
          Arahad was the son of Araglas, and the seventh Chieftain of the Dúnedain. During his rule, the Watchful Peace came to an end when Sauron returned to his fortress of Dol Guldur and spurred his orcs to multiply. Arahad was wearied by these struggles and leaned on his wife, the wise-woman Silivreneth, for support.           The son of Arahad and Silivreneth was Aragost, who was firmer of will than his father and more active in fighting against the rising turmoil in the North. Though Sauron focused his efforts on Gondor and Rhovanion, not Eriador, he was ever vigilant in his defense of his lands. His wife Alphalas was dear friends with Lord Elrond’s wife Lady Celebrían, bonding with her over their shared love for swans, for which Alphalas was named and Celebrían honored as a symbol of her mother’s Telerin heritage.           Alas, Arahad’s wisdom and Aragost’s guarded watch upon the Misty Mountains were, though valiant, imperfect, and Celebrían was waylaid by orcs upon her return from a visit to her parents in Lothlórien. All her companions were slain, including Alphalas, who had been eager to meet the great Lord and Lady of the Golden Wood. Celebrían’s twin sons Elladan and Elrohir found and recovered her, but she was deeply affected by her time in bondage to the orcs and not even Elrond’s medical abilities could save her. The next year, she departed for the West in search of deeper healing.           Alphalas’ young son Aravorn was only twelve years old at the time of her death, and before she sailed, Celebrían made sure to pass along his mother’s love to the child. He was the last Heir of Isildur to know the Lady of Imladris. He carried this sorrow all his life, marrying an equally solemn woman, Sírdhem, whose own parents had been slain by orcs.           The son of Aravorn and Sírdhem was Arahad II, named for his great-grandfather. Despite his parents’ melancholy attitudes, Arahad was a boisterous man of great cheer. He frequently traveled westward to the borders of the Shire, and though he never trespassed upon the land of the periannath he took great heart and comfort from watching their flourishing community, knowing his and his fathers’ efforts to fight against evil were doing good in the world.          It was on one such journey that Arahad met Ellother, a hunter from a small community of Men in the Hills of Evendim. They became fast friends, and soon Ellother asked to be Arahad’s spouse. Though Ellother had a lesser lifespan than their Dúnadan husband, their love was great and from it came an heir, Arassuil.           In the first part of his rule as Chieftain, Arassuil established trade with the hobbits of Bree, delighted by their recent development of pipe-weed. But soon troubles increased in the North, with the orcs of the Misty Mountains growing bold enough to raid Eriador. Arassuil and his rangers fought tirelessly to hold them back, but one party managed to reach the Shire where they were fought off by a brave band of hobbits.           Upon hearing tale of their leader, Bandobras “Bullroarer” Took, Arassuil was greatly impressed and traveled to honor him in person, though Bullroarer had only a vague idea of who this strange Man was. However, this friendship was fortunate, for soon the Long Winter arrived. Many lives were lost throughout Eriador, and with the aid of the wizard Mithrandir, Arassuil and the Rangers of the North brought supplies from Rivendell to the Shire to aid the hobbits.           As he aged, Arassuil grew weary from his wounds, and was forced to spend more and more time in Imladris where his grandson Argonui was growing into a young man. Though he cherished this time with his family, Arassuil worried that he was not doing enough as Chieftain. His wife Glórineth, a few decades younger than him, bravely took up the task of leading the Rangers in their journeys alongside their son Arathorn I. Glórineth and Arathorn continued to aid the hobbits of the Shire and also to the dwarves of the recently-sacked Erebor as they made their long pilgrimage westward to the Blue Mountains.

Now for Elloths backstory. Again very close with Dandi since they basically grew up together, although he's a bit younger.
He/they, 23 aromantic, aegosexual
Elloth is primarily an artist who works with pottery and some paintings/drawings that he sells. Occasionally he finds himself selling small pieces and trinkets to the clones on shore leave, which is how they met many of them, as well as some jedi, who he's now friends with.
Elloth is slightly force sensitive but views it more as magic/signs - basically has no idea how the force works. They are slightly superstitious which affects his beliefs on the force
