67 for spotify writing?
Send me a number 1-100 and i will try to write a short fic based off whatever song that corresponds to in my spotify wrapped replay 2023!
“Oh. You’re late.”
Joe blinks. “I am? Well, that’s news to me. I didn’t know there was any sorta time schedule for me arrivin’ here, considerin’ I’ve never been here, and there’s no reason anybody would know I was headin’ here on account of that.”
The zombie stares at him, unimpressed. “You’re Joe Hills,” she says. “Traveller.”
“That I am! And, uh, you are…?” He extends a hand in greeting.
“ZombieCleo. Town storyteller.”
“Oh!” Realisation dawns. “You’re dead, then, I take it? Man, I’ve never met a dead storyteller before. Was it painful when the demon killed you?”
“Eh, I was dead before then,” she says with a wave of a hand.
“So, you’re, like, double-undead then. Undeader. Un-undead? Undead-dead? Undead squared.”
“Let’s just go with Zombie, shall we?” She raises an eyebrow at him. “Or, better yet, let’s just go with Cleo.”
“Alright, Cleo,” says Joe. “I take it you have a role for me.”
“I certainly do.” She grins. “Are you ready to cause a little trouble, Joe Hills?”
“Boy, am I!” Joe grins back. “I’ve been told it’s what I do best.”
“Then I think we’re going to get along swimmingly.” She steps aside, revealing the clocktower behind her. “Welcome to Ravenswood Bluff, Joe. I hope you make it out alive.”
“Alive?” He laughs. “I’m already dead! But I look forward to becoming undead squared.”

Witches don’t exchange engagement rings. They do, however, have moors, worn on the right hand and symbolizing loyalty and safe harbor. Traditionally, these are made from actually woven plant stems enchanted against decay, but in the modern day, these rings can be made from anything so long as their band looks like woven fibers.
Jaya has three moors. The first is for the Narayana family, a dull gold band. The second is for the Chel family, an heirloom with the noble crest bound by strings of bound water. The last is a representation of her sponsorship of Lilith, an extremely traditional weaving of grass dyed gold.
Max has one moor. It's a similar Chel family moor of bound water.
Lara has one moor, made from dragon marrow to symbolize the Ravenswoods. Aster has a similar one.
Ellie has one moor, a meticulously enchanted ring of overlapping flower petals collected by hand by her parents.
Lilith has two moors. One was woven from grass stems by her mothers, enchanted to remain bright green. The other is a ring of ice strands dyed green and bought by Jaya.
Natalie has no moors. She wears a simple black ring she bought when she was twelve to cover this up.

Tom Ellis / Genderfluid / they/he
Is that MATTHIEU DIXON that I see over there? You know they have quite the reputation of being the THE DEVIL around town. The 41 year old has been around these parts for THREE YEARS. and within that timeframe has landed themselves a job as a CHEF AND DRUG DEALER/CRIME BOSS while living in ROLLING HILLS. I overheard that they can be quite HEDONISTIC but their saving grace is that they are ALTRUISTIC. Rumour has it SECRET, and it’s just a matter of time before everyone knows. but you’ll have to decide that for yourself. PINTEREST || WANTED CONNECTIONS || STATS

Matthieu has two cats, Cain and Abel, who they love like they are their children.
Matthieu owns homes in London, Paris, and Italy.
Matthieu is known as “The Devil in Ravenswood” to a lot of people. There are quite a few whispers about them around town, some are positive, and some, not so much. While they are a philanthropist and mostly kind, there are rumours about their shading dealings.
Matthieu takes their coffee black, with a splash of oat milk and far too much sugar.
BIOGRAPHY
tw drug use, alcohol use, past child abuse, tw crime
All Matthieu Dixon has ever known is violence.
Matthieu Etienne Dixon was born on July 24th in London, England to Edward Dixon and Isabelle Francois, a real estate mogul and a nurse. They were a relatively normal family, religious, upper middle class, happy. Until Edward started drinking. The problem was that Edward Dixon for some reason didn’t like his son, or his wife, and the alcohol exasperated this. A man who claimed to be godly, a man who went to church on Sundays, and put up a front of them being the perfect family, tormented his young son, from five years old on, he verbally and physically abused Matthieu, telling him that he could see something bad in his son and that he had to beat the devil out of him. Matthieu, not fully understanding why this was happening, kept quiet, hidden in fear that their father would hurt them more, or maybe, hurt their mother, no one knew what was happening. When Matthieu was eight years old, Isabelle found out that Edward was cheating on her, and she divorced her husband. She relocated them to France, her hometown, giving them a new lease on life, or so she thought, but without Matthieu telling their mother about the abuse at the hands of their father, Isabelle sent young Mattie to London to see his father often. She remarried Antonie Francois when he was 15, and the man became an actual father to Matthieu, bringing along his son, Matthieu finally felt like they were a part of a real family, filled with people who loved them.
Matthieu having people they trusted back in France allowed them to finally push back against their father, fighting back asthey grew older, although, a little voice in the back of the young kids head held them back from telling anyone about it, it was a secret they were set on enduring alone.
Matthieu, in between London and France, was fairly popular, smart and charming, they always girls, boys and everything in between, after them, and Matthieu loved experimenting, and soon experimenting was no longer just that, and Mattie knew that it was something more, not just a phase at all. When they were eighteen years old, ready to move out and go to school, they decided that was the best time to finally come out. Isabelle and Antoine were receptive, if not a little bit confused, but loving. Edward, of course, was an entirely different story, cutting their son off completely. Matthieu didn’t feel like this was a loss, instead, they took the opportunity to uproot their entire life and go to Culinary School in New York.
Once they touched ground in the US, they didn’t speak to their father ever again. They also didn’t tell a soul about the abuse from their childhood, not till years later, when they started seeking therapy.
New York wasn’t easy, and without their father's money, and minimal support from his mother, who was working on a nurse’s salary, Mattie had to find alternative ways to make money. How it came about is fuzzy now, but soon they was peddling drugs to high-end clients, from marijuana to cocaine, there was something for everyone, and Mattie was the person to call when you needed a fix. It put Matthieu through culinary school, and, as they went on they rose up the ranks, bringing in much more than he’d make doing anything else.
Not long after graduating, Mattie’s life started to slowly come together They were offered a job at a top restaurant with their old teacher in New York, where they would learn to cook from some of the greats, and they began running things on their own in the criminal underworld of the city, Mattie went from a simple drug dealer to a full-time crime boss. With a boss that wanted to step down, and saw potential in a younger Mattie, he handed over the ranks. By day, Mattie worked in the restaurant, and by night, they were running the city’s criminal underworld. Matthieu’s dealings were simple, they’d grant favors, called deals with the devil, an IOU system of sorts, they’d sell drugs, do arms deals, and more. The world truly was their oyster.
A celebrity chef in the city, and an underground crime boss, Mattie was a known name for many different reasons, in many different circles, it gave them the opportunity to become a philanthropist, donating to some of their favorite causes, especially for LGBT youth.
Matthieu’s coming out as genderfluid was a slow, winding process. Discovering that they weren’t exactly cis gender hadn’t been news to them, as they had always defied gender norms, but finding something that fit them was a journey all of it’s own, but Matthieu finally settled into their identity comfortably. New York and Matthieu’s friends, welcomed this identity, and Matthieu, with open arms.
When they were around 36, Matthieu met the person they thought they would be with forever. Penelope was someone Mattie had fallen sort of quickly for, and at the time they should’ve known that was a bad sign. Mattie ended up giving up their life of hedonism, trying to prove that they could be a good partner. Something they had never done before, as they had never fully seen the point of monogamy, or, maybe they just hadn’t met anyone they were willing to be monogamous for. One night, nine months, and a ring later, Matthieu was engaged, happy, and a father to twin girls Elodie and Rosalie.
Everything was great until it wasn’t. Penelope ended up choosing her job over Matthieu and the twins and left them with newborn twins to raise alone so that she could move across the country for a job opportunity. She signed over full custody to Matthieu. A year later, Matthieu decided that they, and the twins, needed a change of pace, a new city, new schools, new people. New York wasn’t the same as it used to be, and, the memories there were far too much. Vacationing there a few times in their twenties, Matthieu was surprised to find that Juniper’s economy and nightlife was booming, and it was becoming a bigger deal than it ever had been, and even more surprised that the idea of a new home in a smaller city felt like the right calling.
With their political connections, Matthieu found a connection with the Mayor of Juniper and after offering a hefty sum to help their campagin, Matthieu had the Mayor wrapped around their finger, and so they packed up their things, the twins and their entire life, and moved their family to Washington.
Helping rebuild the city was kind of enthralling, they got to build Soliel, their restaurant and lounge, from the ground up, designing every bit, from top to bottom and corner to corner. They bought a home in Rolling Hills, near The Hoh and a beach. It was nice to meet the other residents, both old, and brand new, and now that they have the reassurance from the city’s politicans, Matthieu can carry on with business as usual. Everything seemed sort of picture perfect.
Except, Matthieu is raising the twins as a single father, trying to juggle single parenthood, new business ventures, two full-time careers, and not admitting to themself that they might not be able to do it all alone.
Everything may seem great on the surface, but for Matthieu Dixon, things might be falling apart

Always Remember, by Mary Balogh
A beautiful strangers-to-friends-to-lovers story
Jennifer Arden, younger sister of the new Duke of Whilby (Remember Me), was crippled after a childhood disease left her with a twisted, shortened leg and foot. Deeply loved by her family, she is nonetheless an outsider rather than a participant in the ton, forced by her disability to sit quietly on the sidelines. She has cultivated a cheerful acceptance of her fate, but in her heart, she longs for romance, marriage, children… or simply to walk and dance like other young women.
Ben Ellis, the illegitimate son of the previous Earl of Stratton, knows all about being an outsider. Raised as a brother to the current Earl, Devin (Remember Love), and loved and accepted by his siblings and even their mother, Ben is nonetheless aware that his birth renders him ineligible to court any of the gently-born young ladies of his acquaintance.
On the surface, a match between Ben and Jennifer is impossible, but they are perfect for each other… if only they can find a way past the societal and family expectations that stand in their way.
Mary Balogh makes Ben and Jennifer’s journey to love and their families’ eventual acceptance both beautiful and moving. Their families’ objections arise out of their love for them both, but also from their unconscious beliefs regarding class and disability. Apart from one angry outburst by Jennifer’s brother Luc, both families’ opposition is quiet and caring, involving hints and subtle efforts to keep the pair apart. Their deep love for Ben and Jennifer enables their family members to eventually see and acknowledge how well-suited the couple are, and to gradually move from loving opposition to full support.
As her fans already know, Mary Balogh’s narrative voice is distinctive: quiet and more formal than most of the authors writing historical romance today. Her style suites the time period as much as it does the character-driven romances she writes. In Always Remember, she skillfully and sensitively depicts Ben’s complicated feelings about his parentage, his place in the Ware family, and his lack of knowledge about his birth mother. She is equally adept at unfolding Jennifer’s feelings about her disability and the effects of her family’s overprotectiveness. And the scenes showing Ben with his young daughter simply made my heart melt.
Both Ben and Jennifer love and appreciate their respective families, but each has consciously and unconsciously shaped themselves to fit their family’s expectations. The friendship between them develops because they are able to see and share with one another their hidden dreams, feelings, and needs. Jennifer and Ben see past not only the other’s social façade, but past the superficial obstacles—Ben’s illegitimacy, Jennifer’s disability—that initially kept them from noticing one another at all. As their friendship deepens, they encourage each other to acknowledge and explore their dreams: Jennifer’s for greater mobility and independence, and Ben’s to learn about and connect with his mother’s family. Ben’s approach to Jennifer’s disability is blessedly practical, figuring out ways to help her achieve more independence. Jennifer’s approach is more empathetic but equally helpful and insightful, given that Ben’s issues are more emotional and social than physical in nature.
I loved this strangers-to-friends-to-lovers story, and highly recommend it to Balogh’s fans and to lovers of well-written (and well-researched) historical romance generally. My only caveat is that the cast of secondary characters is enormous, and keeping track of them is made even more confusing by the use of titles or nicknames interchangeably with given names. For that reason, you should probably read the first two Ravenswood books before you read Always Remember; you will have a much easier time keeping track of who everyone is and how they are related. Even then, if you aren’t blessed with a genealogist’s memory for names and relationships, I suggest keeping a notebook handy to jot down the dramatis personae!

The room he opened the door for was the room where the ball is going to take place in.
There, in front of a large window, stood a throne-like chair, it was seemingly made out of the finest gold and most beautiful velvet, the slight shine from the moon made the chair seemingly glow brightly.
And, on the throne, sat a beautiful vampire. Her skin was pale like a porcelain doll, her frame was delicate, she had her hands folded on her lap with her eyes closed, she had pretty, soft pink lips, her delicste hands held a white rose, a stark contrast to how she was dressed-- it was dark, with some lighter accents.
Next to her, stood a butler, he was just as pale as her, clearly, neither one of them have seen the sunlight in seemingly centuries, he was dressed in a classical butlers clothing-- a formal suit and tie.
The butler then walked to the mukami and bowed before him, a hand resting over his chest as the lady of the manor opened her eyes to gaze right at him...
"Ah how wonderful it is to have you here, Lord mukami. We are happy that you're here with us at last. "
The butler said while fixing his posture and he kept on his smile..
"Although, I am rather surprised to see that you have not chosen to bring your brothers long, as the lady guesses that you would want them to participate in such a event. "
“Salutations,” he greeted to the butler in an apathetic tone, a hint of suspicion still lurking within, especially at the mention of his brothers’ absence. A spiral of questions began to form like an intrusive rainfall in his mind, each pitter patter and unwelcome precipitation akin to that of bad omen despite the lavish and hospitable décor of the Ravenswood manor. “As you may have already surmised, my brothers unfortunately could not attend on such short notice in witness of the Rising of the Blood Moon, so you will have to make do with me if that’s acceptable to the heiress of this grand event.”
As he uttered those last words, the Vampire studied with slightly bewildered yet mesmerized steel-blue eyes her surprisingly beguiling appearance, lips seemingly as soft as fresh snow on a winter’s morning with a complexion to match. Mental reminders to stay on guard despite her beauty recycled through his troubled thoughts, uncertain of what to expect in a setting as unusual as a mysterious ball that would soon transpire. Protecting his brothers from unforeseen dangers superseded that of any budding curiosity or new encounters with immortals of similar stature as himself.
“Upon my first step into this place, I couldn’t help but notice how deluxe your manor looks. For that, you have my utmost praise, but just know that it’ll take more than opulent furnishings and gourmet food to win me over,” he said with an almost cold mockery permeating each syllable. “Tell me, Lady Ravenswood… Why invite me, of all people? Surely you must know my loyalty lies with Karlheinz-sama, the Vampie King. Many in the demon realm would have him dead, especially those who lurk in the shadows such as yourself, so I cannot begin to imagine your reasons for requesting my presence.”
A blatant lie, in hopes of frisking the heiress for her true intentions, wouldn’t hurt during his stay here—or so the Vampire thought, using his skillful deception in the form of feigned smiles and a duplicitous intonation that concealed any doubt to his advantage. After all, he knew not what lied in wait for him, should he incur her unexpected wrath.
“In any case, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I can’t say I’ve ever celebrated this so-called Rising of the Blood Moon. Care to tell me more about its origin and what the celebration shall entail these next several days?”

SNEAK PEEKS:
Love For Sale—Whitney Dineen
Even though I don’t devour Hollywood news like a sycophant starlet, I still know who Jonathan Silver is. He’s the head of Ravenswood Films, the movie studio that’s been churning out a crazy-long streak of award-winning films.
“Why does Jonathan Silver want to work with you?” Lucy demands. “And what in the world does he mean by, ‘ready to buy love? ’Are you a madame in disguise?” She sneers the last question in such a way as to suggest that’s the only way someone like Jonathan would choose to work with me.
No one in the office, except for Sky, knows about my talent for matching people to the house that will lead them to true love. It’s not something I advertise and my whole client base comes from word of mouth. One happy customer tells a friend, who tells her sister, and so on. Which leads me to believe that somebody in my Rolodex must know Jonathan Silver.
I smile at Lucy as sincerely as I can before answering, “I have no idea what he meant. I guess I should give him a call and find out.”
The throng around my desk eventually begins to disperse when they realize I’m not going to do that in front of them. The only person who doesn’t leave is my boss, Frederic. The smile on his face radiates nothing short of greed. I assume he’s salivating over the commission we’ll get from whatever house Jonathan buys.
He confirms my suspicions when he says, “Don’t sell him anything under twenty mil. I have four listings right now that you can choose from.”
“Frederic, Jonathan will make up his own mind about which house he wants. I’ll offer to show him your properties, but I can’t guarantee he’ll go for any of them.”
My boss shakes his bald head at me. Frederic looks like a villain from a Masterpiece Theatre show that takes place in Victorian London. He’s short, bald, has a pencil-thin mustache he actually waxes, and his eyes are too close together. If I didn’t know better, I’d think he had a rap sheet a mile long for offenses that include, but aren’t limited to, tying women to train tracks.
“I’m not kidding, Emily. I want you to sell him one of my listings.”
“I’m not kidding either, Frederic. I’ll do my best, but I make no promises.” My boss tolerates my non-deferential attitude, which is good because there’s no way I could fawn all over him like the other girls do. Chris Hemsworth, he’s not.
After Frederic stomps away, Sky scurries over and mouths, OMG!” Then she leans in and whispers, “Let’s get out of here so we can talk.”
—
Love the One You’re With—Jennifer Peel
“You punched in the wrong code,” I whispered, a bit on edge. I mean, it wasn’t like I was getting ready to sneak into the home of one of the most recognizable women in the country right now. Okay, that was exactly what I was doing.
“Don’t get your panties in a wad, darlin’.” Dallas tried the code again to get into Vivian’s gated community. He had the fanciest car of anyone I knew—a Range Rover. And he was more than willing to help in the heist. Not only was he a troublemaker, but he was willing to do anything in the hope that Jake would move out of his place. I’d warned Dallas this was no guarantee that Jake and I were getting back together. In fact, I hadn’t even told Jake about the video yet. I thought maybe I should get the picture back first and then we should talk face-to-face.
“Don’t fuss at him,” Abs scolded me. “You’ll only make him nervous.”
I rolled my eyes. She was sitting in the front with Dallas, and the two had been flirting nonstop on the drive over here.
Dallas flashed Abs a devilish grin. “I’m excellent under pressure,” he drawled.
Even in the dark, I could see Abs blush. “Is that so? Would you like to prove that to me?”
Oh. My. Hello Kitty. I’d started saying that instead of hell when Maribelle was younger because there was nothing like your six-year-old telling your pastor that he gave a hell of a sermon. “Y’all, we are kind of in the middle of something important here. Can we push pause on the flirtation button?”
“I like the sound of pushing buttons,” Dallas said seductively. “Just tell me where.”
Abs giggled.
I threw up my hands and fell back against the seat. “I can’t deal with you two.”
Dallas turned around and pursed his lips together. “Now, darlin’, don’t go acting like someone licked the red off your candy. I got this under control.” Without looking, he reached out of the car window and punched in the code X had given me. The large wrought iron gate began to swing in, allowing us access to one of the glitziest neighborhoods in Nashville—Forest Hills.
“See, darlin’, I got this.”
I blew out a deep breath. I was glad someone had this under control. I didn’t know why I was doing this. If I wanted to, I could have had the picture reprinted and bought a new frame for Jake. It was just that something about Vivian got under my skin. The way she and the show’s producers manipulated those videos was wrong. They were intentionally hurting people’s lives. The lives I cared most about in the world—Maribelle’s and Jake’s. Even if Jake could be insensitive, I still loved the man. He was my first love, my only love.

The Love Potion – Excerpt by Becky Monson
It’s going to be a great day.
I believe this. I’m just having a bad moment. That’s all. One moment will not speak for an entire day.
“What’s that smell?” my coworker Josh asks as soon as he sees me. He’s sitting in his black, ergonomic work chair, leaning back, the cuffs of his pin-striped button-up dress shirt pulling taut as he folds his arms.
My heart is hammering in my head, my face feels flushed—even with the cool Phoenix morning—I’m sweating, my bangs are glued to my forehead with perspiration and my glasses are sliding down my nose. It could be this big chunky sweater I’m wearing. I grabbed it to put over my favorite navy dress with the white polka dots. Not even my favorite clothing item can save me from my current . . . predicament.
But it’s fine. It’s going to be fine. I push my large, blue-framed glasses up my nose—the ones my best friend Hazel calls “nerdy-cute”—and set my shoulders straight. Everything is all right. Good, even.
“Seriously, Ally, what is that?” Josh’s face is now scrunched, his light-brown eyes squinting. His extra thick brown hair styled in what can only be called a modern mullet. It’s tall and sort of unruly in the front, and the back is halfway down his neck, the ends curling just behind his ears. It’s the kind of hair that women would want to run their fingers through. I have, actually—I couldn’t help myself.
Josh Wise—never wrong, always wise. That’s how he introduced himself to me when I first started working with him. We were instant friends and not just the work kind. We spend plenty of nonworking time together, too. He’s part of my inner circle now, one of my favorite people.
“Is it bad?” I ask as I sit down in my chair at our shared workspace, the long, double-wide table where my team sits. I open the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet just under my space, putting my purse inside and shutting it with my red patent leather heel–clad foot. I wrap a hand around my long, dark-brown hair and pull it away from my neck, letting the cool air of the office hit it.
Josh crinkles his nose. “I mean . . . it’s not the worst thing I’ve smelled.” He waves his hand in front of his face, as if to ward off the offensive stink.

The start of a new era, all hold onto your seats! //
During a night where the full moon is at its peak, it's up most beautiful, a deep black Raven flew into the room of the eldest mukami with a letter in it's mouth. The letter looked rather fancy, it was a soft cream colour with gold trim, and a blood red wax with a beautiful rose design on top. The Raven placed the letter upon the desk of the vampire, and then, patiently stood there, then, almost as though the letter itself knew it had reached it's destination, opened by itself. The following, is the writing within the letter..
"My deepest gratitude towards whom this letter was delivered to. You have been officially invited to the Ravenswood manor by the heiress.
You're expected to show up within the night that falls upon the grand Rising of the blood moon, dressed in your best attire. You are allowed, but not obligated, to bring your siblings alongside with you. Your stay will be for two to three days, and your rooms have been already prepared, food will be made for you and your siblings, you will be allowed into the grand library of the manor, and then hold the honours during the magnificent ball, your costumes for the said ball will be issued as well.
-With my up most respect, Ellis Ravenswood. "
"Hm…? This doesn't appear to be one of the Sakamakis' familiars. Nor does it belong to the First Bloods… So, who could possibly be reaching out during this full moon? I already don't trust the sender one bit, but nevertheless, I'll humor them by reading this. A number of possibilities come to mind, but I surmise that the letter shall reveal all—including this person's intentions, I hope."
Picking up the exquisitely adorned parchment in his steady, tapered hands, steel-blue eyes trailed down the invitation, a suspicious visage slowly spreading across his features the lower down his gaze reached.
"Ravenswood manor… I can't say I've ever heard of it, but regardless I'm quite intrigued. How has this so-called Ellis individual heard of my brothers and I?" Ruki mused to himself, debating internally whether or not he should entangle the other three in such a mysterious affair. "Perhaps it's best I investigate this event by myself for now. In any case, this heiress seems to be an affluent figure for having so many facilities and resources promised within the contents of this letter. There's even a library. As much as that alone has piqued my interest, i mustn't lower my guard."
With a troubled sigh, the Vampire traipsed towards the closet, taking out and dusting off a prized suit of his. Clad in full midnight black, akin to the sky outside his window, the sole light coming from his white tie just like the full moon itself, Ruki quickly changed into the formal attire to emphasize his decision on attending the grand occasion donning his best attire as the invitation urged him to.
"This shall suffice, I suppose. Very well, Ellis. I accept your invitation."
