The Princess of Wales invited Lady Gabriella Windsor to help plan her annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey, with the royal accepting a key role in organising this year's Together at Christmas event.

Kate reached out to Lady Gabriella over the summer and offered her an advisory role on musical choices.

Lady Gabriella, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, has written and released eight of her own jazz-inspired tracks since 2020 under the name Ella Windsor – and even sang at her own wedding reception.

A friend of Lady Gabriella’s told The Sun on Sunday: “She was very touched and grateful to the Princess to be asked to contribute to her very special concert, and she felt honoured to do so.”

El viejo Profesor Javaloyes nació por propia iniciativa hace cuarenta años por y para la Radio, y han sido suficientes para convencerse de que esta sociedad “No es país para viejos”, en un mundo que fomenta ideologías de izquierda y derecha pero no soporta a los librepensadores. Por eso y también por propia iniciativa dejó de existir el pasado día dos de enero de 2025.

Maestro de ceremonias: Con su característico y marcado acento argentino y un tono cercano, el Profesor Javaloyes guiaba a los oyentes a través de un viaje radiofónico lleno de sorpresas y un conocimiento enciclopédico. Histriónico, con don natural para la repentización y un maestro de la ironía que comenzaba siempre y sin misericordia por sí mismo.

El intelectual accesible: A pesar de su erudición, o precisamente por ella, el Profesor tuvo la habilidad de hacer comprensibles asuntos complejos y al mismo tiempo entretenidos para todo tipo de público.

Relación con los oyentes, un vínculo especial: El viejo Profesor cultivó una relación cercana con la audiencia, creando una sensación de comunidad y complicidad. No solo informaba y entretenía, sino que también inspiraba y motivaba a los oyentes como ser genuino y apasionado, algo que transmitía con facilidad a través de su voz y discurso con el que evitaba el lenguaje y la jerga técnica, lo que hacía que todos se sintieran bienvenidos. Con detractores y admiradores fue mucho más que un presentador de radio, un personaje excéntrico con una personalidad peculiar. Fue un maestro, un amigo, un conversador inagotable y un referente que combinaba lo no convencional con un enfoque riguroso en sus propuestas. La filosofía lógica como resumen.

El misterio que lo envolvió siempre es un asunto que cautivó, y continuará cautivando a sus seguidores entregados y a perseguidores que le detestaban, porque de ambos contó por miles. Una figura enigmática con peculiar forma de expresarse, profundos y vastos conocimientos y millones de anécdotas que despertaban la curiosidad e imaginación de los oyentes.

Descrito como un farsante, un manipulador capaz de influir en la mente y el criterio de los oyentes, circula una teoría de que se trató de una elaborada puesta en escena creada para entretener y generar polémica y controversia. Acusado y señalado tanto como un izquierdista peligroso o filofascista a las ordenes del gran capital según de donde viniera el ataque, lo cierto es que no dejó indiferentes a su paso. El Profesor Javaloyes logró desde el primer momento captar la atención y fidelizar a los oyentes que aguardaban ansiosamente cada nueva emisión en la que participaba. Y fue en cualquier caso un hito que marcó un antes y un después en la Radio de Canarias principalmente por el innovador programa “Tiempo Abierto”, del que fue figura y referente fundamental. Nunca se había hecho un programa así, no se ha vuelto a hacer y no creo que se haga en el futuro.

Sus últimas palabras, susurradas al oído a quién esto escribe fueron: Cum dignitate moriamur, “Muramos, pero con honor”.

¿Era en realidad quién decía ser?. ¿Era la invención de alguien que se escondió cuarenta años (20 de ellos en la Radio) tras su figura y que algunos creyeron identificar?. ¿Acaso es eso lo interesante?. Lo único real e importante es que el viejo Profesor Javaloyes fue y… estuvo.
