Seven Sentence Sunday

Hi! You might've noticed my header's absence—that's because @littlemisskittentoes made me this lovely moodboard for my F1 rivals-to-lovers fic which I'm writing for the big bang, and which I'll be sharing a snippet of today.

Alex opens his mouth, though how he plans to respond, he’s not certain. Before any words come to mind, though, his phone slips through his hand, bouncing onto his shoe before landing on the tile between them. Alex kneels down to pick it up, momentarily saved from forming a reply. His brain’s still coming up empty, though, when Henry speaks again. “You might as well suck my cock while you’re down there.” Alex whips his head up to make sure he didn’t just imagine those words coming out of Henry’s mouth. He’s prevented from pinching himself when Henry adds, “It’ll be good practice, looking up at me.”

Henry has never been a religious man, not the way Alex used to be. As kids, it was always Alex’s family shuffling off to mass early in the mornings while the Foxes enjoyed leisurely Sundays teeming with cartoons on the TV and orange juice in glasses. There had never been bibles among the hundreds of books on shelves and along tables in the Fox house, only anthologies of poems and soft-bound novels. Dinner with the Fox family had never started with folded hands and bowed heads like the routine Alex had learned growing up.

No, Henry wasn’t carved from the names of saints or shaped by written proverb the same way Alex was. But when his hands come up to pull Alex down into a kiss, it feels sacrosanct. There’s still a familiar spark lighting Henry’s eyes when he looks up through his lashes—the same reverence Alex felt standing under the gilded columns and vaulted ceiling of Mexico City’s oldest cathedral. When Alex’s name drops from his lips, woven between gasps for God, it still feels like prayer.

WIP WEDNESDAY!

this is from the very new wip that was born today (or yesterday night i guess) never thought i would be writing Vampire!Henry but here i am XD

The thing is Alex knows that dating a vampire brings along certain cons. He has watched Twilight enough times to know about them; despite Henry’s insistence likening “Twilight” to what porn is to sex education. “It’s all fictitious, love,” Henry has said many times. And Alex knows—his boyfriend doesn’t quite shimmer beneath the sunlight like in the tales, even if he does exude the genteel fragility reminiscent of a Victorian gentleman with his pale skin but that’s because he is old enough to belong to that bygone era.  Now, as Alex observes Henry's fangs gleaming, a thought strikes him: perhaps twilight does have one thing right. But drinking blood—it’s not a con, not necessarily, no. Despite being a vampire, Henry does not have a penchant for killing. Alex knows—he knows about the hunts, the blood, the feeding. On numerous occasions, Alex has caught himself wiping away the lingering traces of blood from the corner of his mouth after a hunt. He is aware of the blood bags Henry keeps stored in a separate freezer; it’s not exactly a secret that Henry feeds on blood. He is a vampire—he has to drink blood. However, Alex has never seen him drink it.  Alex’s gaze fixates on Henry’s fangs as they delicately skim over his bottom lip. Right. Well, then. This can’t be happening. Henry’s eyes search his boyfriend’s face before he wills his gaze to return to Alex’s finger.

wip wednesday

back at it again with a rbb snippy! finally starting to earn its ‘e’ rating 🙂‍↕️

i was tagged by the lovely @getmehighonmagic and @thesleepyskipper

He works his way down Henry’s body, sowing open mouthed kisses and swirls of tongue between nips of teeth. Alex relishes the move of Henry’s body beneath his. Savors the way his machiavellian tongue reduces down to nothing more than Alex’s name and sighed breaths. It’s astounding, being allowed to see him like this.

It doesn’t fade, that feeling of awe, even when Alex pulls a groan from Henry’s chest with the ghost of his mouth over the trail of hair disappearing under Henry’s waistband. He pauses with his lips against the flannel tie. “This okay?”

The words pull Henry up to lean on his elbows. Alex looks up from his perch between Henry’s strong thighs. Hen looks like a god, gilded gold by the halo of the overhead light.

“‘Okay’? Christ, Alex. It’s…” Henry gives a breathless laugh and a shake of his head. “You’re perfect.”
