@dot524: This is an extraordinarily sad and poignant story about the tragedy of a failed relationship and the efforts to bring it back together. Alex and Henry used to be together, but they grew apart. As part of their breakup, Henry underwent a procedure that caused him to forget Alex, and Alex decides to do the same thing. What will they do when they realize that it was a mistake? This is an Eternal Sunlight of the Spotless Mind AU, and I’m not familiar with that story, but the fic is engrossing and well-done. It’s also almost finished. Check it out!

Like Because, Love Despite by @aforgottennymph (book-verse)

@dot524: Alex and Henry are work rivals who are both working themselves to the bone. It turns out that they used to be together, but they broke up. Their assistants, Nora and Pez, have come up with a plan to get them together - mainly to make their own jobs tolerable. But Alex and Henry are working through a painful past, and things are not always as they seem. I was snorting reading the most recent chapter - this one is just fun, joyful, and hilarious. Plus there are some flashbacks to their relationship that make you feel all the feels. Can’t wait to see how the author gets these two together!

Break Out by @cricketnationrise (book/movie-verse)

@na-dineee: Ice hockey is the perfect setup for an MLM romance, right?! Novels like Time to Shine are a prime example, and there are already some amazing firstprince x ice hockey AUs out there. And now, cricketnationrise started one too – yay !! Humor, fluff, and eventual smut – ok, enough said, I’m in!

With this one, I’m able to tick off some of my favourite tropes, like enemies to lovers, oblivious Alex with abandonment issues, or found family. The author’s previous fics have always amazed me, and I’m sure this one will be no different – the setup is just too good!

@na-dineee: I think this is Sarah’s first multi-chap fic? Alex and Henry were childhood best friends, a friendship that meant the world to Alex. But that’s all in the past. Still, Alex’s stubborn heart never stopped loving Henry... The WiP is posted about halfway through, and it’s as beautifully poetic as you’d expect from Sarah. The small town setting gives off such cozy vibes – it’s just so lovely !!

The Love Lasts So Long by @chaa-kiao (book-verse)

@na-dineee: The Foxes are close friends of the Claremont-Diazes. However, Alex can’t stand Henry. Like, not at all !! Naturally he's kind of shocked/annoyed to find out that Henry will be spending Christmas with them. As usual, Alex is totally oblivious to his feelings, but they'll get there, won't they?! I love this author, and am so glad that they're posting again. A story about falling in love, discovering their feelings, and the magic of Christmas - even in January just perfect.

@na-dineee: Alex is the new Bachelor, and it's Henry's job to keep everything running smoothly. Of course, the whole thing gets off to a rocky start. Henry can't stand Alex and his easy charm, but as he gets to know him, he starts to warm up, realising his feelings are anything but professional. Are we here for this?!! Yes, we are, aren’t we?!

Sweet Little Lies by @celaestis1 (book-verse)

@dot524: Canon divergent AU where Alex misses the royal wedding and Cake-gate never happened, but a flirtation between June and Henry and a lavender relationship did instead. Alex is still obsessed with Henry and has to confront his own feelings as the situation unfolds. So excited to see where this goes, especially since I’ve loved this author’s other works!

@myheartalivewrites: If you heard squealing across the oceans on Sunday, it was probably me when I saw the email notification for this beloved author publishing her first fic in 3 years. Alex and Henry sign up to do a reality show (if you haven't watched it, don't worry. I haven't and I'm enjoying it all the same!) in which they are supposed to get married to a complete stranger--except it turns out they already know each other, and Alex has been nursing a grudge for years. We're only a chapter in but the tension has already built up to an excellent level and I can't wait to keep reading.

I posted a new fic last night called (here I am) meet me as before and more again as part of the @rwrbnygiftexchange event. It's a 5+1, very homoerotic friends to lovers & was a lot of fun to write. So here's a little snippet:

‘I prefer this one… Definitely more comfortable than the green one you liked over there.’ Henry sits on a brown chesterfield sofa, folding his leg over the other and making himself very comfortable. Alex folds his arms and huffs. ‘It is my bisexual right to want a green velvet sofa.’ Henry’s brow furrows. They’ve had this argument before and yet Henry still doesn’t have a clear answer on this. ‘Please remind me why who you’re attracted to produces a yearning for atrocious soft furnishings.’

He warms the slick liquid in his fingers before his other hand returns to Alex’s body, tracing the soft curve of his thighs. His touch is gentle, almost hesitant at first, until Alex exhales a soothing breath, his legs falling open in silent invitation. E: Every instinct tells him to back away, to shut this down before it spirals out of control, but his heart is screaming something else. The attraction, the pull toward Alex, is undeniable. But his life is complicated—and Alex is so much younger. A: As Alex drifts off, boneless and sated in his arms, Henry can’t help but think that this might be his favorite part—the quiet, intimate aftermath, when the world narrows to just the two of them and the warmth of their connection lingers like an ember, glowing softly in the dark. R: The realization sweeps over Henry in an instant: Alex is staying. Not just staying—he’ll be here, in the same city, close enough to see, to touch, to know. 2025 wips!

hi all! :D

very low pressure tag to everyone (open tag as well!) to share what you're working on in 2025! I've hit a bit of a wall and need to get organized, and even though most of my fics are impromptu 4am ramblings, I figured I'd hold myself accountable here and make it into a game of sorts for anyone who might be inclined to do the same.

ex-marine henry

after being dishonorably discharged from his position in the royal marines that he never truly wanted in the first place, henry finds himself adrift, hoping to start anew in the states. he meets alex, a younger, freshly divorced lawyer with whom it appears at first he has nothing in common with, but soon finds much more than he bargained for as they embark on an at times tumultuous but ultimately fulfilling fifteen-year relationship, navigating the threads of vulnerability, grief, friendship, and love.

rejected soulmates support group

the world has begun to move past the singular thinking that one is incomplete without their soulmate. henry knows that many people live long, fulfilling lives on their own or with a partner that might not have been fate's first choice for them. but at heart he's always been a hopeless romantic, and when fate decides to take his soulmate's life before they've even met one another yet on the tail end of the still-raw grief of losing his father, it feels as if the world is against him. lonely and lost, henry reluctantly seeks out support in the form of a small group that meets once a week, each member bringing their own perspective of loss to the circle. he'd thought he'd decided on staying alone for the rest of his life, but alex, a kind, curious empath with plenty of baggage of his own, might be the fresh perspective he needs to give love another try.

the simple life au

as part of their damage control tour, alex and henry are forced to take part in a reboot of the show 'The Simple Life' with a twist -- they'll spend five episodes between texas and washington and five in the uk, taking turns learning what each other's day-to-day looks like. between the press junkets and lazy rivers in the states and the ballrooms and etiquette training in london, both of them find themselves with more empathy for the other than they'd anticipated. the cameras capture not only their fast friendship but the beginning of a burgeoning, unexpected romance as well, defying their initial objective and sparking tentative optimism for a previously impossible future. they're still far from free, though, as both countries have their best interests in mind and full control over what narrative is aired to the world. it's going to take a leap of faith to make it work, but alex is more than ready to show henry how to jump.

speak easy

alex, a computer science major, has never met a number he didn't like. until he starts failing the poetry section of his mandatory english course. encouraged to seek out a tutor, his professor points him toward henry, a known writer and fellow student that always seems to evade alex's attempts to get to know him more deeply. henry leads him through his own self-proclaimed five step program to becoming a 'poet', strengthening his voice and ultimately helping him pass the course. but finding his voice means visiting parts of himself that alex had previously kept locked up tight or hadn't even known were there in the first place, and sharing his realizations with henry forms a bond between them that not even the journals-full of prose passed back and forth can scratch the surface of. that won't stop him from trying, though.

detroit become human inspired au

henry and pez run a safe haven for those who were once machines, deemed faulty for having developed genuine humanity and facing imminent decommission if found out. the next evaluation is in less than 24 hours, and alex's humanity is at 94%. luckily, he makes it to henry just in time.

midnight cowboy

alex, the lead singer of the widely known and highly acclaimed band midnight cowboy, is henry's biggest guilty pleasure—which is saying quite a lot. as a professional escort for the rich and elite, almost none of his pleasure is guilty these days. it feels like a fever dream when he gets the request from alex himself asking to spend a night together. he's long since being anyone's experiment, but with alex, unfortunately, henry finds he enjoys the idea of being some kind of first. (is 'only' too much to ask for?)

gynecologist henry

alex has done the college thing. the dream job thing. the casual, short term relationship thing. on paper, he has everything he ever said he wanted. it'd just be nice if he had someone to share it with sometimes. it'd be even nicer if his sister would stop trying to set him up with her gynecologist, who evidently finds himself in the same position.

henry attends therapy in brooklyn once alex has moved in and things have slowed down a bit. it's predictably difficult but for the better, until they begin to cover the topic of his past relationships -- more specifically, sex. facing realizations that can no longer be shoved away, henry confides in alex and they reevaluate what intimacy might look like for them in the wake of healing from trauma.

henry has to switch antidepressants and worries that his decreased libido will cause issues with his and alex's active sex life.

henry arrives home early one night to find alex touching himself, which prompts a conversation about alex's past partners, misplaced shame, and self-pleasure within intimate relationships.

chauffeur alex

alex is the personal driver for henry, secret writer and infamous royal who'd abdicated and come to the states in his 20's to live freely and to marry his husband. now in his near-forties, the glamour and novelty of his story having long since worn off alongside his failing marriage, henry finds that alex is the only one he can confide in without fear -- and who is convinced that henry deserves so much more than he's getting. the last thing either of them need is to get feelings involved, but neither can say they tried as hard as they should've to have stopped them.

henry's been learning spanish already for the last few years in an effort to connect more with alex and his family. he did not, however, prepare for the myriad of texan-ism's that he encounters once they're back in austin, which is beginning to seem like a language all its own.

aftercare (+4 for the let's talk about sex! series)

neither alex nor henry have been in a serious relationship before and are unfamiliar with aftercare since it isn’t something they had with their previous partners. after a particularly intimate and intense round of lovemaking, they find themselves both feeling a little lost and restless, leading to a conversation about how they can best be there for each other after sex going forward. 

bottoming 101 (+5 for the let's talk about sex! series)

alex wants to bottom for the first time post-canon. henry walks him through the process—even the not-so-glamorous parts—and alex experiences a newfound appreciation for the previously unknown efforts that they go to to express their love.

Alex plants a kiss on his neck and another by his ear. ‘Baby, I will take you���’ He licks a stripe down Henry's neck. Henry focuses on the wetness, the warmth, using it as a floation device, trying to stay afloat. His mind is a muddle of murkey, choppy seas. ‘...any way you are.’

“The world is terrible. Everything is awful most of the time,” Henry starts. His voice is coated in frost—a new coolness seeping into the tenor. “But you’re good, Alex.”

Alex’s stomach dips. There’s a bittersweetness to the words—the cynicism that stains them warring against the way ‘you’re good,’ covers the jagged edges of Alex’s soul in salve.

Henry gives his wrist a squeeze, and says, voice finally gaining back some of the warmth Alex has come to equate with him, “You’re my good thing.”

Today I'm giving you guys another little teaser for the age gap AU which is coming along nicely :)

“Palo santo,” Alex commented as Henry set his bag down on the brown leather couch across the room from Alex’s desk. He had caught Henry taking a deep whiff, trying to put his finger on the scent. “Not too strong, is it? I’ve never burned this brand of incense before but my sister brought it back from Mexico and said I should try it in the office. Supposed to be stress relieving,” he smiled and rested back against the desk, facing Henry. “Is it working?” Henry asked, reminding himself to circle back at some point and ask Alex more about his family. “The stress relief?” Alex asked. He looked up at Henry through thick, luscious lashes. “That depends on what brings you to my office, Henry.” The man had no idea what it did to Henry, every time he said his name. He was the type of person who noticed things like that, when people addressed him by name as if their words were meant only for him, not copy and pasted or spouted off haphazardly to just anyone. He’d been on the receiving end of vague, nameless texts and sentiments before, and it was a breath of fresh air to hear the personalized statements.

i've been suppose to not be writing right now (but i do have things i finished and need to edit) but a couple new docs got opened including a roller derby firstprince fic that is gonna be all sorts of silly i think and demanded words written for it lolz - so have some roller derby words i guess

Henry is so distracted that he doesn’t notice how close he’s skated to the edge of the track. His wheel catches on the boundary, and in an instant, he’s airborne. The world tilts violently, and then he’s sliding across the track on his stomach, the impact knocking the breath from his lungs. Pain flares briefly in his ribs, but it’s his pride that takes the real hit. “Dude, you alright?” The voice is warm, threaded with amusement, and when Henry rolls over and looks up, the new guy is standing over him. Up close, he’s even more distracting—lean and sharp-featured, with a hint of stubble framing a mouth that’s just a little too inviting. His chocolate eyes sparkle with something that might be mischief, and Henry feels his stomach do a ridiculous, traitorous flip. He looks like sin on skates, Henry thinks helplessly, sprawled on the floor like a complete idiot. For a moment, he forgets the ache in his ribs, the burn in his cheeks, and the fact that he’s making an absolute fool of himself. All he can focus on is the way the guy is looking at him, equal parts amused and intrigued.

Last one of 2024, and we're going out with a bang! A little of the Junora Secret Santa finale:

‘Go on then. Unwrap me then.’ Nora hears June’s breath hitch. Her hands hover in between them. Nora guides her closer to the buttons of her jumpsuit. Her fingers undo the top one slowly, the next one quicker and soon the velvet slinks off with little pull. Nora drops her shoulder down artfully, allowing the red lace to peek over the edges. June goes to pull the sleeves off, her hand quivers and Nora gently nods. The fabric peels away to reveal the red lace is attached to a body suit that Nora feels divine in. The rest of the jumpsuit drops to the floor and Nora steps out. She leans up to June’s ear, pushing back a stray strand of hair. ‘Secret’s out, do you like your present then?’ She whispers, her voice husky yet smooth.

Mixing it up and sharing 6 sentences of cautious Nora from the upcoming chapter of Rise of the Brave this week- thanks @littlemisskittentoes for the tag!

Amy and Cash had trained them long into the night, for so long that Nora felt like her arms were aching from all the jabs and punches she had been on the receiving end of. They had barely gotten any sleep, either, only about six hours, if Nora was correct. Nora really hoped Amy and Cash weren't trying to wear them down, make it so they were careless when it mattered. She didn't want to think that people who had offered to help them had ulterior motives this early on. After all, she and Alex had just met them less than forty-eight hours ago.

The fact remained, though, that they had accepted help from people they couldn't trust just yet.

seven(ish) sentence sunday

chappie four of tis the damn season is live!! featuring a firstprince smooch, a liam sighting, and my own take on the emails!

“You know, even now, when something shitty happens, you’re the first person I want to complain about it to. I think you might still be my best friend.”

Silence stretches over the line just long enough for Alex’s heart to hiccup. His mouth opens to distract Henry away from the lingering statement. But then, Henry’s talking.

“You’re still mine, too,” He starts, and it seems to break the dam.

“Don’t ice me out again.” He means for it to be firm. A demand, not a request. But the words come out sounding small.  “Alex…” Henry ducks his head. But, Alex cuts in before he can say anything more.  “I don’t need much. I’m happy to take whatever you want to give me.” The promise is so clear in the words. There’s no denying that Alex means every word. “Don’t make me lose you again. I barely survived it the first time.” Henry searches his gaze for long moments. Alex isn’t sure what exactly Henry’s looking for. But he won’t let himself look away. He lets it all play out along his features for Henry to see—the earnestnes, the longing, maybe even a bit of the hope.  Finally, Henry’s eyes flit down to their joined hands. A bob works itself down his throat and even still, there’s something ragged in the words when he speaks again. “I don’t want to lose you, either.”
