Key takeaways:
Walton Goggins was kept in the dark regarding the twist that Barb Howard was going to advocate dropping the bombs in the name of furthering Vault-Tec's agenda.
“Frances Turner plays my wife and she is just an extraordinary actor. I so enjoyed their relationship as it was revealed to me over time. We didn’t get all the scripts at once. I think we got the first three or four. There were conversations about where that relationship was headed, but I didn’t see it going there. I had an idea that something nefarious was afoot, but I didn’t realize that my wife was going to be the one who architected the ending of the world.” Howard learned of the plot while spying on his wife through a listening device planted on her Pip Boy. Barb suggested dropping the nuke while meeting with Robert House, Frederick Sinclair, Bud Askins, Julia Masters and Leon Von Felden in a flashback shown in the Season 1 finale. “If you really listen to what she says and the conversation in that room, as diabolical and Machiavellian as it is, it does make sense on some level from their strange, demented, capitalistic point of view. Let’s just wipe out the competition. And it was so horrific to hear the woman that you love, that is the mother of your child, your keeper of secrets, speak about destruction and in terms of winning. I still am wrapping my head around it. I’ve seen it a few times just because I wanted to see what Frances was doing and what Ella [Purnell] was doing, what everybody was doing, but specifically that moment between the two of them.”
Moreover, he's interested in season 2 giving us more flashbacks to explicitly show what happened to Cooper Howard between that meeting and October 23, 2077. We already know for a fact that his acting career took a nosedive after divorcing Barb to the point he had to perform at kids' birthday parties for alimony reasons, and Vault-Tec got him branded as a "communist" in order to discredit him. But the finer details are a mystery.
“I love how complicated their relationship was. I’m so curious where that relationship picks up [in Season 2] and how you begin to talk about the elephant in the room and, subsequently, what that means for the world that we’re living in,” Goggins continued. “The first scene in episode one of Season 1 takes place after he hears that conversation. I have my version of how much earlier that conversation took place, but I’m curious what happens between that conversation and when Cooper is at the children’s birthday party. I want to know that story. I mean – I know what happened – but I would think the audience would want to know that story.”
He's also interested in exploring Cooper Howard's dynamic with Lee Moldaver (or "Kate Williams", as she called herself back then), suggesting that perhaps Cooper was involved in some of Moldaver's activism, of the kind that would eventually lead to the formation of the NCR.
Another relationship Goggins also enjoyed getting to explore in “Fallout” was the dynamic between Howard and Lee Moldaver (Sarita Choudhury), a scientist working on cold fusion before the nuclear apocalypse who pushes back against Howard’s ideology who later leads the raider attack that ends in the kidnapping of Hank MacLean. “I had such a great time telling that story with her. I liked the dynamic between two competing ideologies about the world and I like to be proven wrong,” he said of working with Choudhury. “Personally, I like to have my beliefs shook up from time to time. And that’s exactly what Moldaver does for Cooper Howard.” “I don’t know how that story is going to unfold, but I would imagine that the layers will be peeled, and you will understand the origins of that relationship,” he said of the two characters’ relationship. “That’s all I can say.”
On the subject of the Ghoul's interactions with Lucy, and what's in the future for these two characters going into season 2:
In addition to being on his own journey to find his family, The Ghoul became a major influence on the series’ protagonist, Lucy MacLean, pushing her from a naive Vault Dweller who has ventured to the surface to rescue her father and Vault 33 Overseer, Hank MacLean, to a hardened survivor. “In some ways, The Ghoul to Lucy is just the person who delivers her on the other side of the Rubicon, the person who just bursts her bubble,” Goggins said of the pair’s relationship. “The Ghoul is a person that takes no prisoners. He’s not there to teach her a lesson until he’s there to teach her a lesson. He didn’t see her as a human being until he saw her as a human being. So in some ways, she has brought the Ghoul back, redeemed him on a human level. And in some ways, he has radically and fundamentally changed her view of the world and the way that she moves through the world. So, in some ways, they’re helping each other to survive life the way that it exists. It’s a three-dimensional relationship, and I really don’t know where it’s going to go, but I have my own ideas about where I hope it goes.” The end of Season 1 sees Lucy MacLean teaming up with the Ghoul to go after her father, who escapes Griffith Observatory in Power Armor and is headed to New Vegas. Shortly before his escape, Lucy learned that Hank was responsible for the bombing of Shady Sands, which turned her mother Rose into a ghoul. “Lucy and The Ghoul are — I don’t know if they’re a team — but I think they’re beginning to understand each other and whenever anyone sets out to define the truth, it’s never going to be easy, is it?,” Goggins said. “It’s going to be difficult, but it’s going to be a lot of fun and it’s going to resonate with people. I certainly hope so.”

Title: "The Story That’s Not Yet Told"
Characters: Fem! Spencer Reid x Elle Greenaway
(Ella purnell is my hc spencer reid ;p)
c: fluff
Summary: At their cozy home, Spencer Reid and Elle Greenaway unwind after a long day. Spencer, having just finished a thought-provoking dystopian thriller, becomes excitedly passionate as she explains the plot to Elle.
The soft glow of their living room lamp illuminated the cozy space where Spencer Reid and Elle Greenaway had settled in for the evening. The quiet hum of the city outside blended with the crackling sound of the fireplace. Spencer was nestled into their couch, her legs tucked beneath her, eyes wide and bright as she stared at the open book in her hands.
Elle, freshly showered and relaxed, sat beside her, her feet curled under her as she scrolled through her phone. The room felt peaceful, calm—a stark contrast to the chaos of their jobs.
Spencer's mind, however, was far from peaceful. She had just finished a book—one that had been occupying her thoughts for days—and now she couldn’t stop thinking about it. The words were swirling in her head, like a tornado of concepts, ideas, and theories she needed to unload.
“Okay, so—” Spencer began, almost too quickly, her fingers running over the edge of the book as she stared at the pages. “It’s a psychological thriller, right? But it’s also this really complex philosophical exploration of memory, identity, and what it means to be human. So, in this dystopian future, right, people can literally trade their memories like currency? Like, you can—oh god, imagine the implications! You could buy and sell your most painful memories, your happiest moments, your—”
Elle raised an eyebrow, looking over at Spencer with an amused, albeit slightly confused, expression. She’d heard this particular tone from Spencer before—the one that meant she was about to go on an intellectual ramble that could last for hours if left unchecked.
“You’re talking about it like it’s a science textbook,” Elle teased, leaning back against the couch and crossing her arms. “Slow down, Reid.”
Spencer didn't seem to hear her. Her voice quickened, almost breathless now, as she dove deeper into her explanation. “So, the protagonist is this woman, right? She works for the government, overseeing the memory-trading process. She starts out thinking she’s just doing her job, but then she discovers that, not only have her memories been altered, but she’s living in this entire society that’s built on these *false* memories, which—by the way—can be created artificially! I mean, *imagine* that! A world where you could literally change who you are just by swapping memories! It’s mind-boggling. It questions the very nature of reality. Like, who are we if our memories—our identity—can be altered so easily? Are we still ourselves if everything we remember is—”
Spencer’s words were tumbling out in a rush now, and Elle, despite the affection she felt for Spencer’s passion, couldn't help but laugh softly, shaking her head.
“Okay, okay!” Elle interrupted with a playful grin, reaching over and gently placing a finger to Spencer’s lips. “You’re gonna short-circuit yourself if you keep going at this speed.”
But Spencer wasn’t stopping. “And then—” she continued, her voice getting even faster, “—there’s this moment when the protagonist realizes that she can choose to forget all the painful memories—the ones that have been haunting her for years—but if she does, she’ll lose everything! Her identity, her sense of self! Because memories are tied to everything we are—like, what happens to a person when they don’t remember who they are anymore? I mean, the idea that memory could be something—”
Spencer stopped mid-sentence as Elle leaned forward, cupping Spencer’s face in both hands and pulling her in for a kiss. A soft, but very intentional kiss that quieted the profiler's runaway train of thoughts.
When they pulled apart, Spencer blinked, her lips tingling, and for a brief moment, all of the words she had been desperately trying to unload escaped her. She let out a breath, blinking up at Elle, whose eyes were sparkling with mischief and affection.
“You’re talking too fast,” Elle said, still grinning. “I can’t even follow you.”
Spencer blinked again, her cheeks flushing slightly as she realized how out of breath she was. She had been rambling, hadn’t she? “I—sorry,” she said sheepishly, her hands fidgeting in her lap. “I just… I get so excited about this stuff, and I can’t help myself. But I guess I’m not making any sense, am I?”
Elle laughed, the sound warm and soothing. “You’re making sense. Just... not to anyone except *you*.” She leaned back again, her arm slipping around Spencer’s shoulders, pulling her close. “Maybe you can slow down a bit so I can catch up. Or, you know, you could just give me the highlights. Less science lecture, more… romance novel?”
Spencer chuckled softly, resting her head against Elle’s shoulder. “Sorry. I just… it’s so fascinating. The idea of memories, of who we are, and how they shape us. I guess I got a little carried away.”
Elle smiled, pressing a kiss to the top of Spencer’s head. “It’s cute when you get passionate, you know that?”
Spencer glanced up at her, the corners of her mouth curving into a soft smile. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Elle said, brushing a strand of hair from Spencer’s face. “You’re cute when you talk too fast. But you’re even cuter when you slow down and just be with me.”
Spencer’s heart skipped a beat, and she found herself leaning into Elle more, the warmth of their closeness filling the space between them. The book, the rambling, and the deep philosophical questions about memory all faded into the background as she focused on the feeling of Elle’s hand gently caressing her arm, the sound of her laughter still ringing in her ears.
“I think I can do that,” Spencer murmured, her voice quieter now, filled with something soft and unspoken. “But only if you promise to remind me to breathe next time.”
Elle’s laugh was low and affectionate. “Deal.”
And for the rest of the evening, Spencer didn’t feel the need to explain the entire plot of the book. Instead, she let herself fall into the quiet comfort of being with Elle—her love, her safe place, her reality in a world full of questions.

andromeda was born the middle of three daughters. it's a position that seemed to have more of an impact on her than she would care to admit. always caught in the middle, between her sisters, between her family, between right and wrong, between the 'truth' she was raised with and the knowledge that it was all lies told to malleable children who were too young and trusting in their parents to know the difference. however, being the middle child afforded her the gift of semi-invisibility and the time to explore herself through adolescence, her teen years, and after her time at school.
her early years were filled with a great many expectations. it was stressed that it was of the utmost importance, her sole duty, to continue their most noble lineage. toujours pur. always pure. it was far more than just a motto; it was their way of life, permeating every encounter and experience. it was what she’d grown up with, written in stone and blood. how could it not be true?
her time at hogwarts was far more liberating in ways she never could have imagined. it meant not constantly being surrounded by the cold walls she grew up with. it meant meeting people so far removed from the way she'd grown up that it was nearly a culture shock. although she never believed those without pure blood should be treated horribly, she began to realize blood was just blood; it didn't mean anyone was truly better than another. blood purity didn't mean shit, not really. they were all just witches and wizards trying to make their way in this world.
for a while, she kept up her mask, the one she'd so carefully created as a child. it was easier that way; if no one knew the real her, then there was no one to be disappointed with what was underneath. it became a way of protection for andromeda; the less people knew, the better. her peers could see something changing, and she was sure her family could too. the mask slowly began to crack.
"the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." in a way, andromeda envied bella & cissy; they seemed so certain of their places in life. it made the indecision she was faced with significantly more difficult. and once the choice was made, she knew there was no turning back even as she so desperately wanted to turn around to them and tell them to come with her.
and now, despite having seemingly made her choice, andromeda still feels caught in the middle, between the path she's chosen & the family s

( ella purnell. twenty six. cis woman. she / her ) tyler rowan has been spotted around the neighborhood, i think they’re a server at echelon. i heard from a friend of a friend that they’re vibrant, alluring & cynical, and self - destructive. it’s no wonder they’ve made it this far in the city, they’ve been here for 6 months. now that i get a good look at them they kinda’ remind me of come as you are by nirvana. ( jess. 26. she / they. cst. )
TYLER ROWAN, new to the city with wild, sparkling eyes , determination, big dreams and a high - ego ready to be crushed
𝑩𝑨𝑺𝑰𝑪𝑺 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚: tyler rowan 𝙖𝙜𝙚: twenty six 𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 + 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙨: cis woman, she & her 𝙨𝙚𝙭𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮: bisexual 𝙤𝙘𝙘𝙪𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: server pinterest board
things weren't picture perfect growing up, but it seemed pretty damn close from the outside. tyler rowan grew up on the outskirts of a small town in kansas. her father was the professor at the local university, and her mother was a nurse at the hospital. tyler’s the youngest of five siblings, and by age 10, all of her siblings had grown up and moved out. what was left was pretty sad, in comparison to a loud, love - filled home , despite her mom & dad working long, and strange hours . but , of course , after they all left her alone with them , it was weird and empty and sad & strange . fights about money when her father lost his job over budget cuts & things out of his control & her mother falling out of love, and they stopped being the perfect family. they got divorced , and tyler lived with her mother in chicago shortly after – it’s where her mother grew up & tyler had to adjust quickly – which was becoming quite easy at this point , things changed so drastically , and so did tyler – changing herself as drastically as her surroundings changed.
moving to new york city at twenty - six , before living briefly in los angeles a few months prior, then -- chicago for about sixteen years . . . she's lived a few different lives that she loves to bring up after a joint or a drink , that she was a background actor on some new blockbuster movie when she lived in hollywood , that she hooked up with a famous actress & she won't tell you who it was . during her days in chicago --- she went to college and worked at a restaurant to cover the cost of rent and school . her degree was constantly changing , finally deciding on nursing , then dropping out immediately. moving to new york city , with hopes to maybe : get famous & cast in a tv show , but working as a server as her day / night job .

Controversial take, but I really love it when a man in fiction(books, movies cartoons, anime) goes crazy if their wife is killed or kidnapped. I just really like it. Especially if the love is returned just as fiercely back. And that she would do the same for him. I've only seen it a few times where a woman who do the same if her husband is killed and I love it even more and I just need to see more of that. Like nothing says romance to me than a kind person losing it because they lost the love of their life in a very horrific and traumatizing way. Though again it depends on the character and the people they are attacking because sometimes I don't always love it.
Sameeeeeeeee !!! I love when men go feral for their loved ones (wife or kids) but women being ready to do whatever it takes in return is absolute gold. I think that's why I loved Pirates of the Caribbean so much. Elizabeth was one of the first characters I had seen who was ready to do anything for William. She gave up on her entire life to be with him, she became the motherfreaking King of Pirates, she learned to fight and stand up for herself, and eventually she gave up on a daily domestic happiness just to be able to see her man for 1 day every few years. Like??? That's true love. We don't see enough women truly losing it and becoming murderers out of love tbh. Maybe because our culture doesn't see women as capable of doing such a thing (and the statistics also confirm that). I'd recommend you to watch the TV show "Sweetpea" with Ella Purnell. It is brilliant, imo. Of course she doesn't lose it and becomes a murderer because she lost her husband, but it happens after she loses the only person who truly loved her and whom she truly loved : her father. I'm sure you'd enjoy it!!

ella purnell, twenty-eight, she/her ⟡ — is that BONNIBEL 'BONNIE' AITKEN i just saw walking around kilmer’s cove? i heard they’re a RESIDENT who’s been here for TEN YEARS. it slipped my mind, since they just tend to hang out at THE CLIFFS. at face value, they’re said to be CURIOUS and EAGER, but i don’t know… some people have said they can be quite CLUELESS and CONDESCENDING. just don’t get on their bad side, i guess! don’t tell them i told you this, but i’ve heard they DO believe in all the ghost stories around town. who knows what the future holds for them!
BASICS:
name: bonnibel althea aitken nicknames: bonnie (what she typically goes by) age: twenty-seven gender: cis woman pronouns: she/her sexuality: lesbian date & place of birth: december 19 in st andrews, scotland faceclaim: ella purnell occupation: local yearning woman, village weird girl, the ghost on the outskirts of town, unemployed friend on a tuesday notable characteristics: large, autistic eyes framed by long, almost white lashes, a seemingly permanent grin, an air of unease, a cooing scottish accent, wavy curls that resemble spun gold, for some reason constantly fucking barefoot?, where does she get all these flowing dresses? traits: melodramatic, whimsical, unsettling, kind, patronizing, spacey, generous, curious, nosy, emotional, tempestuous, spontaneous, well-meaning, obsessive similar to: effie trinket, phoebe buffay, luna lovegood, giselle (enchanted), jessica day, cassie ainsworth, ponyo (LMFAO), elspeth catton, cat valentine if they didn't give her a lobotomy
BACKGROUND:
coming soon <3
short n'sweet tldr: born to two very loving parents who have a lot of influence in the world; an old, old family with old, old money. grew up in scotland but came to kilmer many summers since she was a child due to some business her parents had in the town. a bit of a glass child, bonnie loved the lively town and the attention she'd get so much that when she finished high school she knew she wanted to live here <3 now lives on the edge of town in a huge, sprawling manor with overgrowing weeds (yk the vibes). weird, peculiar, and sweet thing with a smile that makes you feel vaguely unsettled; not a malevolent bone in her body (not consciously anyway) like people of her class generally are; goes into fugue states sometimes and will have to be brought back home or found somewhere on the beach, usually; loves people, though the way she expresses it is mildly uncomfortable and tends to seem as if she's talking to a pet (clueless annoying rich girl syndrome). endlessly loyal and a bit of a space case in the way only stupidly rich people can be. huge chatterbox. no pets, but she makes friends with the animals wherever she goes. cannot cook or clean or do literally anything. useless also in the way only rich people can be (she's a fucking great polo player and is really good at guessing caviar brands)
