Headcanon that, every year on their birthday, Kryptonians get new superpowers.
Clark doesn’t really keep track; That’s Bruce’s job, for the most part. This year? Mediumship.
me·di·um·ship
/the capacity, function, or profession of a spiritualistic medium/
“Communication with spirits,” Bruce has this habit of nicking his thumb with his teeth, pretty, hazel eyes glossy with thought. Clark doesn’t need supervision to see how beautiful he is when his mind’s at work. “Fascinating.”
“Yep,”
Clark watches Thomas Wayne’s ghost give him the glare of the century behind his son’s back.
The skin of his jawline is entirely ripped off, peeled by Joe Chill’s gun, like the news article said. Sincerely, the Wayne glare scares Clark more.
“Fascinating.”

This is basically if he was free and in the real world. Wouldn’t have his glasses because there would be no charger to need emergency charges for (the charger fell off and he lived, crazy)
not canon, just wanted to draw him happy for once

[In February, 2023], a small warehouse in the English city of Nottingham received the crucial final components for a project that leverages the power of used EV batteries to create a new kind of circular economy.
Inside, city authorities have installed 40 two-way electric vehicle chargers that are connected to solar panels and a pioneering battery energy storage system, which will together power a number of on-site facilities and a fleet of 200 municipal vehicles while simultaneously helping to decarbonize the UK’s electrical grid.
Each day Nottingham will send a combination of solar-generated energy — and whatever is left in the vehicles after the day’s use — from its storage devices into the national grid.  The so-called “vehicle to grid” chargers deliver this energy just when it’s needed most, during peak evening demand, when people are home cooking, using hot water or watching TV. Later, the same chargers pull energy from the grid to recharge the vehicles in the wee hours of the night, when folks are sleeping and electricity is cheaper and plentiful.
“We are trying to create a virtual power station,” says Steve Cornes, Nottingham City Council’s Technical Lead. “The solar power and battery storage will help us operate independently and outside of peak times, making our system more resilient and reducing stress on the national grid. We could even make a profit.” ...
After around a decade, an EV battery no longer provides sufficient performance for car journeys. However, they still can retain up to 80 percent of their original capacity, and with this great remaining power comes great reusability.
“As the batteries degrade, they lose their usefulness for vehicles,” says Matthew Lumsden, chairman of Connected Energy. “But batteries can be used for so many other things, and to not do so results in waste and more mining of natural resources.”
The E-STOR hubs come in the form of 20-foot modular containers, each one packed with 24 repurposed EV batteries from Renault cars. Each hub can provide up to 300kW of power, enough to provide energy to dozens of homes. One study by Lancaster University, commissioned by Connected Energy, calculated that a second life battery system saved 450 tons of CO2 per MWh over its lifetime...
Battery repurposing and recycling is set to play a massive role over the coming years as the automobile industry attempts to decarbonize and the world more broadly attempts to fight waste. The production of EVs, which use lithium-ion batteries, is accelerating. Tesla, for example, is aiming to sell 20 million EVs per year by 2030 — more than 13 times the current level. In turn, 12 million tons of EV batteries could become available for reuse by 2030, according to one estimate.
“Over the next decade we are going to see this gigantic wave,” says Jessica Dunn, a senior analyst at the Union of Concerned Scientists. “Companies are recognizing this is a necessary industry. They need to ramp up infrastructure for recycling and reuse.”

Excerpt from this story from Grist:
When the Racetrac chain of convenience stores was deciding whether to install electric vehicle chargers, project lead Rushi Patel started with a blank Excel sheet and a lot of questions. Did the financials make sense? Where is the best to install them? What features should they have? The answers to questions like these could go a long way toward establishing an economic argument for building out America’s public EV charging infrastructure.
“We found our guests using new types of fuels, like electrons, and we wanted to be with them as part of that journey,” said Patel, the diversified energy manager at Metroplex Energy, a subsidiary of Racetrac. But he was clear that “it’s important to have an offer that does make money.”
Patel slowly started to populate his spreadsheet in 2021, filling cells with EV adoption rates, utility prices, construction costs and a range of other metrics. He also took the company’s executives on a two-hour tour of charging spots in Atlanta, where Racetrac is based. One was tucked behind a shopping plaza, the other was deep within the bowels of a mall garage. It was clear to them that Racetrac could do better.
Two years later, Racetrac installed its first Level 3 fast charger in Oxford, Alabama — complete with the company’s logo and a canopy to shade people from the sun as they pump electrons. It has since opened seven more in three states. So far, he said, “[the business model] is holding up pretty well.”
Those eight chargers are among the 61,000 that blanket the country, a figure that has more than doubled since 2022. The increase comes as mounting evidence shows EV charging stations can be a boon to businesses, and not only by selling electricity.
A recent study in the journal Nature Communications looked at chargers in California and found that, pre-pandemic, businesses saw an average annual boost of $1,500 when at least one of the devices stood nearby. Another paper examined Tesla Supercharger installations nationally and saw they brought a 4 percent increase in visitors to a business. The effect was particularly pronounced if the chargers were within 500 feet, and if it was the first one in the area. This boon is due to the fact that it can take 30 minutes or more to fully charge an EV, giving drivers plenty of time to shop.
“The places that tend to get the biggest bump, is the place that aligns with how long it takes you to charge your car,” said Gordon Burtch, an author of the paper and a professor of information systems at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. “Sit-down restaurants aren’t benefiting as much as fast-food restaurants.”

(via Dodge debuts the 2024 electric Charger Daytona, with 670 horsepower | Ars Technica)
Dodge unveiled a fully electric version of its Charger muscle car earlier today. The Charger is not quite ready to ditch internal combustion entirely—variants with twin-turbo V6 engines under the hood are on the way, too, but none will have the same performance as the 2024 Charger Daytona Scat Pack, which boasts an electric powertrain with 670 hp (500 kW) and a quarter-mile time of just 11.5 seconds...
but of course you gotta have big-balls mode:
...The electric muscle car promises to sound louder than most other EVs, too, due to something Dodge is calling the "Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust," which combines chambers and speakers under the car, plus some actual pipes, to create the car's soundtrack. Don't worry, introverts—there's also a "stealth mode," which should be quieter.
...at least you can turn it off

Fun AuDHD perk: hearing electricity.
We're all well aware by now that those of us with hypersensitive hearing can hear electrical devices. I especially dislike smart light bulbs and dimmers for this reason, so loud. Anyways, I've been trying to find headphones that do not go into my ears but also don't have to cover both at the same time and I've tried a few pairs and I can Hear all of them when powered on. I can also hear my earbuds, but once my book starts playing it dulls down enough that it doesn't bother me. But I was very excited to try this recent over-ear pair recommended by a friend and the whistle buzz was UNBEARABLE so I went to Google to see if there was a thread of autistic friends discussing best open ear headphones that don't whistle at you and instead Google offered a lot of troubleshooting for why they are whistling.
Oh Google, it's not the headphones, it's me.
The search for non-whistling headphones continues. Going to try the open ear clip on ones next.

"Whenever you're ready, whenever you're prepared, whatever comes will be ok."
Tumblr media
Name: Jié Hǎo (Chinese: 傑郝) Object: Electric Charger Gender: Male Age: 28
A dockworker at Papavera Port, Astrapolissei who's also the senior manager of the crew. A strong and reliable person, Electric Charger is a hard worker who has been working in the docks for a long time and is known by the locals to be helpful and selfless.
In his eyes, hard work, misery, and difficulties are what make a person a person. One can't simply enjoy the happiness of life without going through hard times first.
He was originally Disco Ball's manager before Disco Ball had to leave his job as he was hired by Pocket Watch to work at TANA. With heavy heart, Electric Charger throw a celebratory party for Disco Ball's new employment. Disco Ball of course still visits his old friends in the dock time to time.
One day, while working at the docks, he had met a man sitting alone while watching the cloudy seas. Curious and coincidentally being his lunch hours, Electric Charger sat besides the stranger and offered his lunch.
The two talked for hours about their difficult times, the things they did to escape that life and how they are bearing with it. Surprisingly, the man came back the next day and they became closer and closer
However one day at the same hour, the man didn't appear like usual, thinking he might have something important to do, Electric Charger ate in uncomfortable silence the whole way through and was absentminded after. His co-worker, Kettle, asked him what's wrong and the two discussed about it.
After some conversation, the man suddenly appeared with a bouquet on his head as he apologized for taking too long. Dropping his cigarette, Electric Charger gasped in surprise at the sigh in front of him as Kettle is blushing by the back and feeling like a third wheel.
