10 years later - after surviving an apocalypse and what could be considered death, healing as an act of rebirth - martin still pulls the bullshit "lonely hands" move 😶‍🌫️

[Start ID: Two drawings of Jon and Martin from The Magnus Archives in blue hues. Jon is a average sized Persian man with curly hair tied back into a messy bun and multiple scars. He has a thick mustache and lighter beard, with streaks of grey in his facial hair and eyebrows, and wears rectangular glasses and a large sweater. I think it’s interesting the language Will uses to describe his spectre in episode 26

He doesn’t say double, or clone, he says copy

In my opinion, this indicates that each clone is a full copy of Will. Each is an instance of him, a different possibility. They have his memories, they are him. Then you can really get into the dehumanization/how he (as well as everyone else) treats himself as tool. Because if those are full copies of him, and they’re being treated as disposable puppets, ugh, it’s just such a good representation of his own self destruction.

Perhaps each time he does it it shatters the concept of him/his humanity a little more—a broken mirror. He is Will, they all were real, making it all the more horrifying what happened to him. Tbh I really have no idea how Will’s powers work…

I do however think it would be interesting to explore how his spectre influences his mind. Perhaps it messes with his memories, does he see bits and pieces from his copies? Does it get hard to keep track? If he can’t remember what they do at all and he has to live with the consequences that’s a whole other type of horror. Is he still human? Does he feel human? Is there a real him anymore? Was there ever a real him if he destroyed his identity and hid himself away behind masks and masks? Did the ‘real’ him die long before he came to Nevermore?

Second Choir: Power, Virtue, and Dominion

Power: powers are tasked with destroying evil, that is anything that would defy creation or the divine. They usually end up pitted against demons, many have demonic features to help lure in their prey. With fewer demons around it means powers are becoming rarer.

Virtue: there are only ever seven virtues, who embody both the seven virtues and sins. Other angels may have similar domains or abilities, but the virtues are the strongest of them.

Dominion: these are leaders of other angels, as well as judges and executioners. Dominions are not to be confused with archangels though both have leadership roles: dominions are concerned more with keeping the machinations of the divine working than with humanity.
