almost went off anon just to share images but i’m too much of a coward 😭 i apologize for the discord link. anyway, this is copy pasted from the wiki of what ephraim says in jp for that bit (i can no longer get the japanese button to work on the wiki so this is an old screenshot lol): https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1067293931433381918/1110747625726169118/IMG_3586.png
obviously google translate is Questionable but it’s hard to imagine what else “strange rumours” could mean lolll.
this bit was from a little collection of maps that had a few sets of siblings, some of which may be normal, but it also contains eldigan and lachesis from fe4, whom you…. may have heard of. she’s canonically in love with him (says a lot that she can’t see herself getting married because no man will ever compare, and if you make her daughter marry eldigan’s son, the daughter says lachesis was in love with him lol). in the game it’s not ever shown how he feels about that, but in the official manga (by oosawa if you’re curious) they very nearly have sex. the only reason he doesn’t sleep with her isn’t because they’re siblings, but because he knows he’s likely about to die and he’s not willing to let her “live with that sin” on her own. this franchise……………..
the chapter where that happens, if you’re curious :) https://mangadex.org/chapter/92ae5c75-5700-4d07-a569-f01a6a92c798

THANK YOU FOR LINKING THIS

sobbing crying throwing up why'd they have to make it so heartwrenching. but it's only so sad and tragic because they present the two of them so beautifully in love with each other, that the audience cares and is sad they can't be together <3 i'm shook that i actually haven't heard of these two and WOW, they're amazing.
i read up until the part where lachesis is told her brother is dead (feel free to point out more great moments if i should continue reading) and goodness... so many amazing moments between them in just the few panels i read. i find reincarnation so sweet yet tragic, but hey, wild idea, CAN WE JUST LET THE SIBLINGS KISS AND BE HAPPY FOR ONCE.........
this is a work of fiction, let the man have fucking titanium bones idgaf!!!!! he man-of-steels that sword and comes waltzing home like hey funny story i think i'm part-wolverine, anyways let's continue where we left off!! my theory for why they didn't let eldigan talk about his true feelings for lachesis in the game is because they were afraid of the absolute incest bomb that would've happened.
as for ephrika ... <3
i have ABSOLUTELY NO CONTEXT FOR THIS, BUT:
"WHEN IT COMES TO BROTHER-SISTER LOVE, I HAVE NO INTENTION OF LOSING. AFTER ALL, OUR RELATIONSHIP IS ENOUGH TO MAKE STRANGE RUMORS." -Ephraim, 2023
SAY IT WITH YOUR CHEST EPHRAIM!! in this translation, he sounds so proud!!! he's like "you think you love your sibling? well people think my sister and i are having sex! TAKE THAT!"
#shipcest#ephrika#eldigan x lachesis#canon#pls what is eldi x lach's ship name.... pls. there's no god if they have no fans/fandom#also nonnie no worries if you feel nervous being offanon#my inbox is always open#and if u ever feel like it my messages r also open i think im p judgment free#i mean. look at me#who tf am i gonna judge lol#i get the fear too it's why i made this whole separate blog lol#long post#im so sorry this is monstrously long im vomiting my feels#replies#anon

The proof of Lachesis’ bloodline was not solely in the blonde of her hair.
No, there was much more to the misfortune of the birthright she embodied than just her outward looks. Yes, physically, it was obvious. The likeness was more than apparent but it was what was within that truly haunted.
Famously, throughout the slums and beyond, even now in this high court, her beauty’s praise could not be sung higher for Lachesis’ hair was like silken gold. It was truly a marvel of marvel elevated further as when the sunlight lit her, it was as though she were haloed. She practically glowed, holy, a goddess, even in the din of where her mother came from as compared to the glamour of royalty given to her by her father.
From the minute she was seen by the nobles who made up her paternal side, the connection was clear. Lachesis undoubtedly bore the resemblance of Nordion House but being blonde and beautiful was more common than people may think.
What was not so common was the mark of Hoðr. It wasn’t even purely common to those who descended from Hoðr but it was famed to like to appear on the skin of youngest daughters and littlest sisters, of which Lachesis applied. And sure enough, though Eldigan lacked it, she had the birthmark on her body and that secured Lachesis’ heritage of holy blood but as implicating as the wine dark discolouration on her body was, there was more. Still much more.
There was a third herald which could illuminate Lachesis’ veracity as a daughter of House Nordion.
The truest and most sickening burden of proof that Lachesis was an illegitimate daughter of the current patriarch of the House Nordion was in her heart. Sure enough, when forced, even though she had never performed this ritual before, she was able to produce the final and all consuming curse of House Nordion. Something even her mother, a mistress to her father, was unaware of due to its dark and abominable nature.
This final hallmark of House Nordion was how she could… detach it, her heart, the very organ within her chest, from her own body.
It was a revolting little parlour trick. The secret shame of House Nordion. A curse which Hoðr himself was responsible for or so the story went. Not many would want to view a Crusader in such poor light but alas, that appeared to be the darkness in otherwise shining myth.
The story of how such a thing like the detachment of the heart and continued living of the body was possible varied but every hero was a villain in someone else’s story. That was generally how it was put when mothers of House Nordion blood told their children that they had to be careful, literally, with their hearts. It was generally assumed, had become a secret folklore, that Hoðr had incurred the wrath of some spurned lover, a sorcerer, and if her heart was no good to him then his would not be good to him either. Hence why it was able to be pulled so easily from the body without truly damaging it - and returned as well.
But all that really, truly mattered was that the children never did it by accident or in front of company. That they understood to wash their hands of this unclean secret.
That their little quirk would be their secret shame.
Their one and only secret shame, even.
Or at least it should have been the one and only the secret shame of House Nordion but alas, there was something rotten in the state of Agustria.
The illegitimate prodigal daughter recovered from the muck of poverty, dirtied with the blood of the commoners, was fit to destroy all their legacies due to lust. That truly made her, her father’s daughters, a descendant of the so-called manwhore Hoðr, even as more and more of their legacy would be fit to tarnish because of actions taken in the insanity known as forbidden love.
Now it seemed that there were more open secrets that were to fester in the mental wounds of those with that famously golden hair.
As regardless of the how, it was possible, it was the concealment of this curse that mattered more to Hoðr and his descendants. They were famed for their wealth, courage, skill in magic and swordsmanship, none of it was not to be flaunted. That it was impolite to discuss matters of gore in times of peace but it was even more shameful to discuss that of incest and Lachesis’ heart was just as detached from her body as her lips.
She just loved to reveal and revel in her taboo feelings for Eldigan and being a doting, elder half-brother, Eldigan didn’t dismiss it outright. Perhaps he should have. But he didn’t. He liked the attention. He could be close with Lachesis where he could not be close with his actual wife-to-be. After all, siblings - even half-siblings - didn’t need to be chaperoned.
And so, outwardly, it was fine, after all. They were half-siblings and who better to teach the illegitimate daughter how to be a Nordion on the inside than the prince, himself. The heir to the throne, the one whose life could be measured out on the killing edge of an iron sword and would eventually cut on the blade of Mystletainn when he was ready for it.
The idea of Eldigan being anything but an only child had never dawned on him. His parents were always distant, never affectionate. Now he knew why when he looked into the amber eyes of Lachesis. The curse was something that fascinated her. It was something he hardly thought about and for good reason, he had come to realise because it revolted him.
To carry a heart was a heavy, messy, gory thing.
Especially his younger sister’s.
It was traumatic and maybe that’s what turned Lachesis. To see something she had never been truly aware of beat in front of her eyes, pulsating in between Eldigan’s slender fingers.
“Th-That’s mine…?” Lachesis whispered, eyes wide and fearful.
Her claim to the bloodline available for all to see. It was a circus for the court, for those who were disgusted and yet couldn’t look away. They all wanted to see if the pretty poverty girl with a mane of golden blonde hair was truly one of theirs.
Eldigan had sat at his father’s heel, more like a lapdog than a lion when Lachesis was presented in front of them. His Father - soon to be revealed their Father - had Eldigan do the deed. He could see the likeness of himself and Lachesis’ mother in her, otherwise he likely wouldn’t have indulged the very human need to see bloodsport.
“It is.” Eldigan had said.
He had touched her breast and Lachesis had squeaked. A strange man touched her so intimately, so intimately that his fingers phased through the fabric of her dress and through the skin and meat of her flesh to… to… to pull out her heart.
It beat and it quaked. Once inside of her ribcage, now inside the cage of Eldigan’s beautiful fingers. Beautiful hands now sullied with the crimson of her blood, indisputable proof of where she had gotten said blood. Up until that point, Lachesis had only glimpsed the organs of animals, of cows and pigs slaughtered for her supper. Meat was expensive, butchers were scary with their sharp cleavers and Lachesis went weak at her knees.
“I’m sorry you had to see this.” Eldigan offered in pittance before returning what was Lachesis’.
Time slowed for Lachesis as she tried to understand what she was seeing. Did her blood still flow? Was she still alive if Eldigan held her actual, human heart in the palm of his hands? She watched as it was her blood filling the life and love lines wrought upon his skin. It dripped down and around the angles of Eldigan’s hands.
The shape of her heart itself was terrifying, too. The tubes and cardiovascular system were ugly and alien to Lachesis. Even more so when her heart was placed back inside of her chest. The pulsating feeling of her beating heart was something she was numb to most of the time. Until now.
Though her heart was replaced by Eldigan, he still kept it. Lachesis wanted him to keep it. His valiant heart and noble soul would keep her safe as this act of him taking her heart would invite much peril. Politics and playground bullying. Her origins as a mistress’ child not helping much either.
No wonder Lachesis grew to desire Eldigan.
It was apparent to her, very early on, that he was the only person whom she could trust with her body, her soul, her allegiances, and yes, her very heart. He showed her kindness and protection where others were not so keen on allowing an urchin so close to their position. Even if she was now a princess and was otherwise treated like one, given appropriate clothing and the proper education to boot.
But what she wanted to learn most, what she desired most of Eldigan went beyond his handsome face and chiselled body or his due diligence, though they were all appreciated bonuses, she wanted his heart.
Much in the same way he had held hers, Lachesis wanted that moment - dripping in crimson blood - reciprocated. In the corners and peripheries, in the shadows where these two half-siblings could engage in illicit liaisons, Lachesis begged with bloodlust in her eyes.
“Please, Eldigan, I want to see it, I want to hold it.”
Eldigan hesitated.
Any man would. It was not natural for his younger half-sister to look at him with eyes like that. Fiery, ferocious. Nor was it natural for him to want to be looked at by her like that. There was such passion in her manner, it gave Eldigan every thrill that he craved and yet was denied by virtue of being the House’s regal prince.
“Please.” Lachesis begged.
Eldigan glanced down at her and saw a string of saliva on the inside of her mouth, it edged along her fangs. Her teeth. No, her teeth. For a second, Eldigan’s eyes deceived him. Lachesis did not have fangs, of course. She had human teeth, she was not a lioness, after all.
He sighed, “Fine.” Eldigan relented with his eyes closed.
He thought, maybe, it would be better if he didn’t see Lachesis as she did it to him. He thought - hoped, really - that it might deny her catharsis and assuage him that he wasn’t doing anything wrong. Not playing with his heart was as common as being told not to play with his food when it came to being taught his table manners.
Of course, that line of thinking from Eldigan didn’t work very well as Lachesis took his very breath away as she delved deep into him upon that cue. Her ardour far outweighed anything as prim and proper that Eldigan could muster as a defence.
Lachesis was of pure delight as she was finally - finally - being given the permission she had come to crave. She couldn’t wait until she got to touch her beloved’s heart, his flesh and blood, and so, she didn’t. She went straight for the glory and gore of it.
Eldigan choked on his breath and his eyes were forced open by the visceral, violent sensation of Lachesis’s hands entering him. Spittle flecked his lips as Lachesis probed him, searched him for what she was after and then, upon grazing his organ, smiled as she found it.
The beating of Eldigan’s heart was powerful and strong, every motion was firm and tight until Lachesis disrupted it and if it could have, Eldigan’s heart would have fled. Her fingers grazed it and then her palm cupped it. She savoured every sensation of her hands going deeper and deeper until she could make a cradle around Eldigan’s heart with her slender fingers.
Then, with glittering tears of joy in her eyes, Lachesis pulled back.
She took Eldigan’s heart from within his ribcage and now, preciously, Lachesis held the heart of a lion in her hands. She held it close to her breast and she cared naught for how the blood of Eldigan’s heart stained her good clothes. The pink of her silken garb turned a deeper red as she held it close to her, almost like a pet.
She revelled in the way her heartbeat was out of sync with Eldigan’s but she was sure, if she calmed her nerves and breathed deeply, they would surely entwine. She truly believed that. Eldigan, meanwhile, was reviled by this scene and what that symbolised for them both.
Lachesis was the epitome of all which went awry in House Nordion and she took that in her stride rather than rejecting it. Perhaps that too was karma for the nobility which was sullied by lust.
“Thank you,” Lachesis said, the gratitude in her voice was overwhelming, “I’ll always treasure this moment.”
She raised her hackles as she cradled his heart. She maintained eye contact which overflowed with adoration as she turned her face ever so slightly to the right. She kissed the side of Eldigan’s heart and allowed his blood to smear her skin as though it were lipstick.
It was utterly grotesque to Eldigan and yet, ever so rousing. He found himself stepping closer to Lachesis who preened ever so darling for him. The shadows of these marble halls stretched thin whilst outside, past these arch-shaped windows in the castle walls, the sunset which burned in crimson blazes and hid them. Eldigan caressed Lachesis’ face and she softened. Her cheek felt warm on his palm.
Eldigan bent down and kissed Lachesis’ forehead then whispered, “I have no doubt that you will,” he told her, “my heart could not be in safer hands than yours.”
Lachesis blushed and closed her eyes. She held on more tightly to Eldigan’s heart and in her glee, it constricted him and reminded him of just how close a tether it was this curse had on him. Of which, Lachesis was more than just another bearer of it.
She was all of it - and with pleasure.
She was the mistress’s child. She was in love with her elder half-brother. She adored the curse which was what truly made them the so-called lionhearts. Not their beauty nor their courage but this. Their viscera from within.

Chapter 2: Disturbance in Agustria
In what world could you ever compete with my gurl Lach? Don't you EVER disrespect her again, you utter buffoon.

This one is titled "Lewyn rizz.PNG" but I think I missed the part I wanted. After this he says something like, "jk, you're the most beautiful just as you are."
"Eldigan is dumb.PNG" This move made absolutely no sense to me and seemed completely against Eldigan's ideals of justice and protecting the common people.

which one do you see as more believable, more possible, hypothetically speaking: grahnye x quan, or sigurd x lachesis?
Sigurd/Lachesis is intriguing on a political level because it completes the circle of Eldigan marrying an acquaintance (?) of Quan and Quan marrying Sigurd's sister. It's kind of surprising there hasn't been more AU fanworks of it. That said, I think Lachesis is too immature for Sigurd. It could work on a political level as Lachesis would probably prefer Sigurd to any domestic suitors and Sigurd would be ok with Lachesis, but I don't think they can form an actual romantic level. They could live with each other but I don't think we'd be talking about two people actually in love with each other like with Quan and Ethlyn.
Quan and Grahnye, on the other hand, is more believable. We don't know much about Grahnye, but she's probably not that much younger than Quan and his friends. I don't think there's any obvious blockers so it's just a matter of whether they can make a connection or not, with regards to their personal relationship. If they can, it would be good for both Quan and Grahnye. I can imagine that Alfiona probably came from a similar background as Grahnye too, being from a minor noble house in Leonster. Would be too bad for Eldigan though...

A Jugdral villain can be redeemable like a supermarket coupon... ahem, to walk in the path of the good (without the bad and the ugly) if you kiss them like a princess who kisses a frog hoping to land a prince. Who mayst thou bestow this hono(u)r upon?
Redeem Macbeth and relive the Frog and the Prince. Surely those dastardly villagers (one of whom spreads Lachesis x Eldigan propaganda btw) deserved it for not paying him his dues.

I was able to finally get my Ares finished. I’m so happy. It took me forever to farm the feathers. Summoning him was no problem, because right after I got finished merging him for the last time, I ended up summoning him, when I was trying to get Lachesis.
Anywho I adore him so much I decided to summoner support him, so now we’re practically married. Plus him and his father match in accessories now. (btw Masquerade Eldigan is like the only version of him that o have. 😭)

Finished chapter 3 aka “Synria stop screencaping everything” (p2)
So, really enjoyed Lachesis and Eldigan confrontation! It was nice to see her calling out the conflicting vows of Eldigan on friendship/king(who is an ass), and he knowing damn well that Chagall will kill him when he comes back. It was a very sad convo where you know bad shit is gonna go down. Lachesis desesparation and sadness is also moving and sad.
It was very satisfying to kick Chagall Ass.
Also! first glimpse on Travant that looks at the mess and is like “not my division bye”. Erin was an MVP here.
Also i fucked up massively and forgot about the love turn limit, and then tried to rush back to save Brigid and pair her with Dew(whose love growth is way low) and needless to say it was a mess, Brigid almost got killed 4 times, everyone had to run like hell. Suceeded in pairing them for like 5 turns.
then also rushed to save taiutiu and Claude. Also! Their conversation was so funny
Claude: I just spoke with the gods and they granted me the answers to the current mysteries and this staff of the legends that revives the dead through quintessence -
Taiutiu, looking at 3782179 pirates, and realizing, she, a noble human, level 4 mage, is gonna have to defend glass healer: Whatever dude we got pirates, we gotta run.
*sad laugh track on*
*happy little laugh track on*
*happy sobbing track on*
Really enjoyed Brigid conversations with sigurd and aideen. it was nice.also aww aideen reuniting with her lost sister and completing her goal :,). the “legendary weapon giving memories back stfu” plot point was... a way to solve this certainly but still heartwarming. (Tbf i am biased towards those characters so)
- only ethlyn is at 30 and the rest is all below 20 excluding only arya and lex -
*chuckles “i am in danger”* welp i sure do hope ced comes broken as heck bc yikes boi.
I think i finally figured out the better way to grind through arena but yeah. Brigid rocked with the legendary weapon tho
Chapter 3 or Sigurd “very bad no good keeps getting worst year”
Honestly i am enjoying this deconstruction they do with Sigurd. it is certainly hitting way stronger than when i was watching through a walktrhough. I gotta wonder how it would be a completely blind playthrough bc woo boi.
Oh yeah! in the middle of all this grinding, Lex and Arya got together (also she got her brave sword HAHAHAHAHA) and Lachesis and Beowolf too.
Now, next chapter there is a plot auto marry of Lewyn and Erin, and Azel x taiutiu convo(!!!!!!! i have been waiting for this!!!!) as well as claude x sylvia convo. Then it will only be missing Dew x Brigid(which according to my calculations would marry on chapter 5 bc of my turn derp)
Anyway, really excited to do next chapter! Queen Ranha is so so!! Lewyn family drama(and development) is so interesting.

Hmm Ayra/Lachesis and Celica/Lachesis.......
Ayra/Lachesis:
When did I start shipping it: Pretty much as soon as we’d recruited them both. Lachesis learned swordplay from Ayra. She probably also learned a few other things.
My thoughts: There are a lot of good wlw ships in FE4 gen 1 but I think this one is my favorite. Ayra and Lachesis have great potential for chemistry even though they don’t interact very much in-game. I just wish they actually… y’know… did interact more.
What makes me happy about them: Ayra and Lachesis are both kind of “alone” in the world. Lachesis especially doesn’t really have anywhere to go even after they win (if only). It’s nice to imagine them finding comfort and companionship in each other. Lachesis doesn’t have much else to live for, really.
What makes me sad about them: Can I just say “Belhalla” and that’s good enough?
Things done in fanfic that annoy me: Hey uh I’m a bad girl and don’t actually read a whole lot of fanfic, lol. I imagine it would be difficult to annoy me as long as you wrote the characters… y’know… in character. There are a lot of different dynamics you could write for them that’d still be really fun.
Things I look for in fanfic: This is more of a general thing, but in fanfic I like for power dynamics to be maintained to some extent (assuming it’s an AU), and I like to see personal growth and soft fluffy intimate time in equal measure. I’ll have to go looking for ayra/lach so I can actually, like, form opinions.
Who I would be comfortable with them ending up with, if not each other: I think Lachesis can comfortably court any of the gen 1 princesses and I’d be happy with it - Ayra and Deirdre being my favorites, Ethlyn just behind them. Lachesis/Finn is cute and definitely worthy of respect. On the flip side, even though I do really adore Lachesis’ dynamic with Eldigan, I think it’s important (for obvious reasons) that they don’t end up together. Just… don’t be tempted. Don’t push for it.
My happily ever after for them: You have to unravel the entire story of FE4 just to even give the a *chance* at a happily ever after. But… if I was being self-indulgent… Ayra and Lachesis survive Belhalla and flee to Leonster together, rehabilitate while helping Finn raise and protect Leif, and then carry Leif through Thracia before joining the battle against Loptyr in gen 2. Also: Nanna and Larcei still exist because of literal magic. Lesbians can have kids too don’t @ me.
Who is big spoon/little spoon: I mean, you can go either way and it’s great, but I do think Lachesis is more likely to take the little spoon role than Ayra.
What is their favorite non-sexual activity: I don’t know that they have one. They just love spending time with each other, enjoying that they have one another… enjoying the time they have, aware of how close they were to losing it. Ayra probably prefers quieter and more thoughtful moments and Lachesis probably prefers more energetic social activities.
Celica/Lachesis:
When did I start shipping it: Some ship choices are just spur-of-the moment for Cinders, while others are carefully selected from several options - but all of them are thoroughly analyzed and structured before I start writing. In this case, I knew I wanted to ship somebody with Lachesis but wasn’t sure who - we went through viable royalty options and Celica’s name stood out because I was playing SoV at the time. The more I watched Celica close herself off and sink into fear and despair the more potential I realized the pair had, and… well, now it’s one of my favorite ships I’ve ever written.
My thoughts: Spoilers for Cinders I guess, but part of what I love about Celica and Lachesis is that they do really have good thematic synergy with each other - incredibly intense survivor’s guilt and a feeling of powerlessness, with subtle differences in the way it expresses - but they’re not healthy for each other. They’re a relationship that’s not only comforting in an immediate sense but also presents an opportunity to tell a story about how hard it is to make a relationship work between two critically depressed people.
What makes me happy about them: I love the way that their strengths play off of one another. Lachesis knows how to take care of herself and can share that with Celica, which makes for good fluffiness (and a good relationship with Celica’s friends!); Celica knows how to express her feeling honestly when she really wants to, and that allows her to break through Lachesis’ aloofness and deliver some really earnest heart-to-heart moments that Lachesis would struggle to have with other characters.
What makes me sad about them: Maybe not quite the answer you were expecting, but I LOVE that every time Celica casts Ragnarok, there’s serious potential for a Belhalla flashback and for Lachesis to panic over it. That is a wound that I don’t think ever completely heals.
I just looked on AO3 and I don’t think there are any other works tagged celica x lachesis so this one belongs to me and therefore i’m skipping the fanfic questions lel
Who I would be comfortable with them ending up with, if not each other: Lachesis has a lot of great options in her own game (as previously discussed). Celica isn’t really as lucky; I don’t think Celica really has any great options in SoV - I don’t like her with Alm, I don’t like her with Mae, you could make a case for some weird crack ships like Mathilda or Clair I guess - I think the only SoV ship I could really get behind is like… Celica/Genny. And even that is fraught with some weirdness because Genny’s age is not super clear. I just really dunno.
My happily ever after for them: Read Cinders to find out maybe! >^)
Who is big spoon/little spoon: It depends a lot on where they’re at in their own personal character growth. Right now, it depends even on who’s having a bad day. Lachesis is less likely to admit needing comfort, to be fair, so she is probably more big spoon on average.
What is their favorite non-sexual activity: I think they really like being around Celica’s friends. When it’s just the two of them together, I think they like cuddling and reading. They’re very physical - not just sexually (though definitely there, too) but just because it’s very reassuring to have their partner close, and they get anxious and moody when they’re separated for very long. That’s kind of what happens when your primary fears and trauma revolve around losing your friends.

Let’s Play Fire Emblem IV: Genealogy of the Holy War, Part 8: The Great Agustrian Depression Epidemic
Part 7
Against my better judgement, welcome back to Fire Emblem IV: Genealogy of the Holy War. Last time, Agustria just… just kicked me in the teeth over and over and over. I swear to Loptyr I remember being better at this game.
Well. Let’s see how I do this week. Maybe I just had bad luck. Repeatedly.
Honoring his promise to Eldigan, Sigurd allows Chagall his freedom and does not interfere.
(Neither his first mistake nor his last!)
Sigurd adopts Agusty as his headquarters, and while his troops there recuperate, he persists in negotiating Agustria’s return to governance by its own king. Despite his determination to restore Chagall’s rule
(Which I cannot stress enough, is a terrible idea.)
his orders from Belhalla never change: remain in Agusty and govern its citizens. Scarcely six months have passed, and yet Grannvale’s ruling administrators have already grown arrogant and taken to abusing their power over Agustria for their own gain.
(Well, considering what their lords were like, this should honestly be pretty familiar to the Agustrians. So that’s nice.)
Day by day, the Agustrian people grow ever wearier of Grannvale’s actions. Before long, as he feared, Sigurd finds himself yet again caught in a new conflict. Reports abound of Chagall raising his army anew at Madino Castle, vying to reclaim his lost capital from Sigurd.
to sweep in and profit from the land’s chaos. Belhalla’s orders demand that Sigurd must maintain control of Agusty above all else. Sigurd’s heart lies heavy in the face of the impending crisis.
Southwest of Madino, Eldigan’s forces hold the defenses of Fort SIlvail. The looming battle for Agustria… a trial between friendship and loyalty. Before Sigurd looms a final battle in Agustria’s north… a showdown fated to shape the course of Jugdral’s history.
Chagall, Unaware the chapter opening narration told us he was coming: This is our final chance to return Agusty to our control. Just look at them… lingering in my kingdom, oh-so-carefree. I grow weary of them. They will pay dearly for this! Jacoban! Where’s that lousy sellsword gotten to this time?
Jacoban: Yeah, I know. Might be a boring job, but you’re payin’ awfully well for it. Let’s see ‘em learn to fear my Bolt Sword.
Chagall: That’s what I like to hear. Don’t fail me. Now, Eldigan’s still at Silvail, is he? Hm… how will he take this? I wonder…
Eldigan: Gah… I couldn’t possibly fight Sigurd. What in the world can I do now…
(Prior events suggest what you do will be ‘whatever would be most stupid’.)
Large Haired Pirate: This is our chance, I reckon, with nuthin’ stopping us from fleecing the villages. Both them armies will be at each other’s throats, so there’ll be nobody interested in gettin’ between us an’ the villages.
Captain Jill Sparrow: Shut it, Duvall! I won’t allow any petty thefts under my watch. I refuse to let us sink so low. Don’t forget, we’re heroic thieves. That’s what the name of Orgahil now means to the world!
Generic Idiot: That wench struts aroun’ like the boss, but she ain’t really the ol’ capn’s sprog.
(…………… Sprog?)
Definitely Going to Die: The cap’n just found her lost when she was a tiny thing, an’ raised her as ‘is own. She still took over when ‘e died, but little she knows she ain’t really his brat. She ain’t the real boss, so there’s nuffin’ t’worry bout.
(Oh, you have no idea.)
Doomed and With Bad Hair: Now, let’s go ‘elp ourselves to treasure!
(“And Chagall has been so reasonable up until now!”)
Sigurd: Where in the blazes is Eldigan…
Oifey: That isn’t all, sire. It appears that pirates from Orgahil are attacking amidst the confusion.
Sigurd: Is that so… I suppose we’ve no choice, then. Ready everyone for battle.
Sigurd: Seliph is but a newborn, and he needs you.
(Yes, they had a baby in the last six months. Yes, that means Deirdre was three months pregnant during the last chapter. Yes, nobody mentioned that. Moving on!)
Deirdre, Mother of All Demons: Yes, dear…
Sigurd: You needn’t look so anxious, Deirdre. I’ll be back before long, I promise. Shanan, I’ve a favor to ask of you. Would you look after Deirdre and Seliph, please?
Sigurd: At the very least, Deirdre, he ought to keep you in good cheer.
(“His parents and grandfather were slaughtered in a senseless border war, which always turns kids into a barrel of laughs.”)
Sigurd: Don’t worry about a thing, Deirdre. I’ll be back for you. I promise.
Deirdre-of-the-End: Milord…
So there’s our setup. We’re surrounded by Agustria’s army that they probably should have used last week, and Deirdre and Sigurd have a child. Also, Shanan is still hanging around! Raise your hand if you forgot about him.
*raises hand*
By now, you know the drill. First, the store; it is now fully stocked with bitchin’ silver weapons! I don’t buy a lot yet, for reasons, but I do pick up a Silver Sword for Holyn. Squeeee! SQUEEEEEE! I also have Deirdre sell her Silence staff and give it to Aideen, who shall now be Deirdre 2, and her Magic Ring goes to Azel who will be Deirdre 3.
…
I’m told that Azel has protested this announcement, so I think we’ll just stick to their real names.
And now, the Arena:
Sigurd: Seven wins, gained two levels: +2 HP, +1 Strength, +2 Luck, +2 Defense.
Quan: Six wins, Gained two levels: +2HP, +1 Strength. +1 Magic, +1 Defense
Ethlyn: Five wins, gained one level: +1 HP. Why.
Arden: Four wins, gained one level: +1 HP, +1 Defense
Noish: Dead to me. He knows what he did.
Alec: Three wins, Gained one level, +1 HP, +1 Luck.
Finn: Six wins, gained two levels: +1 HP, +1 Skill, +1 Strength, +1 Speed, +1 Luck
Lex: Gained two levels: +2 HP, +1 Skill, +1 Strength, +1 Luck, +1 Defense
Azel: Six wins, Gained two levels: +1 HP, +2 Speed, +1 Magic, +1 Resistance
Midir: Six wins, gained two levels: +2 HP, +1 Speed, +1 Defense, +1 Resistance
Holyn: Seven wins, gained two levels: +3 HP, +2 Skill, +1 Speed, +1 Luck, +2 Defense
Ayra: Seven wins, gained three levels: +2 HP, +2 Skill, +1 Speed, +1 Strength, +2 Magic, +1 Luck
Jamke: Seven wins, Gained four levels: +3 HP, +1 Skill, +2 Speed, +1 Luck
Dew: Three wins, gained two levels: +1 HP, +1 Skill, +2 Strength, +1 Resistance
Lewyn: Seven wins, Gained three levels: +3 HP, +1 Skill, +3 Speed, +2 Magic
Lachesis: Five wins, Gained two levels: +2 Strength, +1 Speed, +2 Defense
Beowulf: Five wins, Gained one level: +1 HP, +1 Strength
Erin: Four wins, Gained one level: +1 HP, +1 Skill. That perfect performance didn’t last long, huh.
Well, that was a mixed goddamn bag. Still, more of them succeeded than failed and that’s what really matters. Poor Quan wasn’t able to finish for the first time; the last rank is a Great Knight with a brave axe, and his weapon triangle disadvantage was just too much to overcome. Azel will be finishing up before the end of the chapter; he literally just needs to dodge once to win the final round, and the only reason he can’t do it now is bad RNG.
So here’s our map. Three castles, total; Silvail to the west, Madino to the north, and Orgahil to the far north, but at the moment only Madino is available. The red x’s mark the location of enemy squads; as Oifey said, we start the map off surrounded. Further, there are Orgahil pirates all over the map moving in on the various villages. We’ll need to split up if we want to reach them all in time. But first…
Lex: Sheesh! Courteous as ever, aren’t you?
Ayra: Look, get to your point, whatever it may be. I’ve better things to do than waste time on you.
Lex: Hold on, I’ve got a little gift here. I thought of you the moment I saw it.
Ayra: You can foist it on some other woman. I’ve no use for such trinkets.
Lex: Heh… not even something like this?
Ayra: Oh? … Wait! That’s-
Lex: Ah, good! You’re well acquainted with the famous Brave Sword, then.
Ayra: I never thought I’d see a real one! Never have I seen a blade so beautiful…
Lex: Glad you like it! It’s yours. I guess I’ll see you around, Ayra.
Ayra: Er, Lex! Wait a moment…
*Lex leaves*
Ayra: … Oh…
Remember, kids. Don’t be rude, because sometimes a person you thought was a loser will give you a free weapon.
… Wait.
Anyway, that conversation only happens if Ayra is not in a romance with anyone as of Chapter 3, so remember to keep her far away from dudes. She can also have the same conversation with Holyn instead of Lex, but I’d prefer she marry Lex or Jamke, so I went with him instead.
And yes, she can use Astra with the Brave Sword, and yes it does hit ten times. Hehehehehehehhe…
Now, splitting up. To the west, I send Quan, Ethlyn, Lachesis, and Beowulf. To the north, the biggest squad: Sigurd (needed to take the castle), Lewyn, Dew, Erin, Holyn, Arden, Aideen, and Azel. To the east, Ayra, Jamke, Finn, Alec, and Midir. This group will spilt up again after dealing with the eastern front; the cavalry units will head west to prepare for the inevitable attack on Silvail, and the infantry will go north. Lex, who definitely doesn’t need any more experience, will be guarding the castle. Sylvia will be mostly sitting this map out, because I don’t want her to accidentally marry someone. She’s tricky.
The first few turns are just spent moving, because this map is huge and empty. Only Midir meets an enemy, this javelin dude who inexplicably rushed out ahead.
He is taught not to talk to strangers. The rest of the eastern front begins to split already; Alex and Midir running up toward a village that a pirate has already reached, the rest getting ready to wreck shop on some fools.
… Like 90% success?
Anyway, by this point, the northern and western fronts have also made some friends. Everyone, be friends!
It’s so nice to be friendly. Meanwhile, on the enemy phase, the loss of their capital fills the Agustrian Army with intense depression, and they begin a series of elaborate ritual suicides.
Yes, that is seriously like five enemy units in a row choosing to go after the only enemy nearby who could not merely hit them back but handily win such an encounter. I… I don’t even know. I really don’t. It’s so brutal that when my turn comes back around, I’m really down to just mopping up.
Or, you know, what would be mopping up if Dew had any killing power at all. At least Aideen puts her new long-range healing staff to good use.
That’s the stuff. And on the western front, we’re in a similar position, so I have Quan clean up the only surviving threat after the others did their stuff.
Not so much fun when the Horseslayer’s in my hands, huh jackass? Beowulf Beowfulfs his last surviving minion, and the ladies do some healing. To end my turn, I rush Finn, Midir, and Alec up to the villages they are nearest before they start heading west, and move Azel alone into the range of the last enemy squad on the map.
They’re all fire mages and he’s got a thunder tome for weapon triangle advantage, plus being parked on a forest. This should be fun. End turn.
… Why, though?!
This at least makes sense. They had no other targets. But seriously, this is just screwing with my head. Last week the AI was running rings around me, and this week it seems to have just given up. My turn begins with just a little more cleanup; Azel starts mangling the stragglers of his unit, while Midir and Finn clear the first village of vile piracy.
A few little heals to round things out, and I move Sigurd and Arden up to start drawing out Madino’s defenders, while Erin swoops up toward a pirate going for the villages; there’s ballistae, so she can’t engage at the main battle right now anyway. This is going pretty smoothly, so I’m a little worried. What can go wrong?
N… nothing. Nothing went… wrong.
Huh. Well. The enemy army has some mages in it, which Arden cannot handle, so I do pull back slightly and have Aideen cap up his health. Erin strikes a blow against piracy, and gains a level.
Midir clears another village, and Azel and Ethlyn both start moving to the main conflict. The only one in range of a large number of enemies right now is Sigurd, who the AI usually doesn’t prioritize because he’s a damn killing machine. End turn.
… I did say usually. Luckily, he survives, though it was damn close. Fortunately, we have an app for that now.
Even more fortunately, the tide has well and truly turned. Holyn assassinates the remaining mage, and the eastern front catches up to the center.
Other than Alec being his old self at the end there, pretty optimal! And yes, I do realize Sigurd is past level 20; he can’t promote. Or rather, he starts the game already promoted. Same with Quan. They’re so badass because they have that +5 stat boost when the game starts, instead of picking it up along the way
The only thing I’m worried about is Finn being more hurt than I remembered. I don’t think they’ll go for him, with Jamke and Aideen both in range, but… end turn.
Fuuuuuuck…
Oh, you magnificent son of a bitch, I could kiss you.
The enemy ends it phase by having their healer move down, for some reason; he has a long range healing staff, but maybe he missed his friends. Anyway, he has low defense and no ability to attack, so he’s all yours, Dew!
Oooh, and he was pretty loaded too! After that, it’s a matter of clean-up once again…
While Ethlyn and Aideen do some healing to patch up the horses for the long ride over toward Silvail, and Sigurd, Lewyn, Holyn, and Arden go north to neutralize the ballistae around the castle and stop the final two pirates. End turn!
The enemy phase is honestly kinda sad. All the ballistae shoot. All of them miss. And then on my turn…
Dew, you are being much less reliable than usual this run. I’m taking risks on you, you know. Lachesis would do great things with that Paragon Band. End turn; there’s not really any enemies left to have an enemy phase, so it’s just dodging some ballista bolts while Dew bullies a priest. On my phase, Arden smacks the last pirate, while Azel frees a village.
Man Who Doesn’t Know What ‘Pirate’ Means: We could’ve sworn that boss of theirs was a good lass… Bridget or something, was it?
Do you remember Bridget being mentioned before? Think baaaaaaaack~
Anyway, I think it’s time to take Midano. The ballista falls;
And the war machine rolls to life.
Tastes pretty good. Ayra gets the bolt sword, which isn’t great but gives her a distance option. Dew continues to pick on a monk. The healers do some healin’.
And other than Aideen, continue to gain levels that make one forget they are healers. We pause here for a moment to get some ducks in a row; the cavalry group up on Silvail. Azel gets warped home to finish the arena.
Much better. I also pull Lex and Sylvia out of Agusty and send them to Silvail too; it’s all hands on deck for this motherfucker. Dew finally finishes murdering a priest, as well:
See, if you got that sort of thing every level, you wouldn’t even need to promote. You could just kill people with your burning stare.
And with that, time to seize Midano.
(I would say ‘poor Eldigan, having to share a house with Chagall’, but honestly he’s kind of earned this.)
Sigurd: His Cross Knights are the last remains of Agustria’s army. At this rate, all should be well if we can subdue them, but…
(Shit, neutral units.)
Oifey: Sire, we have a visitor. Father Claude of Edda has just arrived.
Sigurd: Father Claude! See him in, please.
(If you don’t remember him, and I don’t blame you since he was only mentioned once in the prologue, Father Claude is the Duke of Edda. And, as the name implies, a priest. Don’t worry, they aren’t celibate in this universe, so he’s not gonna be starting a war or anything over succession. Just ask Aideen and her sexy green-haired man-candy.)
Claude: Prince Kurth is dead. He was murdered en route from Isaach.
Sigurd: What?! This can’t be… who could have done this?!
Claude: Lord Byron was once constantly by His Higness’s side… yet, ever since the murder, he is nowhere to be found. I regret to say this, but… as it stands, Lord Byron… your father… is the prime suspect.
Sigurd: Wh-what?! That’s impossible!
Claude: I am sorry to say there’s been nothing but horrid rumors in Grannvale lately. Among them are those which say you and your father worked in concert to assassinate the prince… alas, His Majesty’s anguish over the affair has rendered him dreadfully ill.
Sigurd: My father was already the prince’s closest confidante! What could he have possibly gained from the prince’s demise?! Surely, wouldn’t Reptor, Langbalt, and the others who opposed the prince be the likely culprits?
(… Holy Shit, Sigurd, you used your brain to make a statement of logic! Keep that up!)
Claude: I am of the same mind, but we’ve no evidence tying either to the crime. And Reptor and his minions currently hold a great sway over the royal court.
Sigurd: What about Lord Arvis, his Majesty’s aide? Do you know where he stands on this?
Claude: I cannot say for sure. He seems to hold no enmity toward you, but I am loath to consider him an ally…
Sigurd: Hm… I worry for my father. If I could, I’d head home now and do what I can to heal, but my orders haven’t changed. I still need to hold Agustria. Please, Your Grace… do you have any idea what I should do?
(No! No, dammit, Sigurd, you were doing so well!)
Claude: I am on my way to the Tower of Bragi, on the island to the north-west of here. As an heir to the great Saint Bragi, if I pray at our sacred tower, the truth shall be revealed to me.
Sigurd: Hm? Aren’t you Taillte of House Freege? What are you doing with Father Claude?
Taillte: Wouldn’t you worry if I left him to wander all his lonesome? Somebody’s got to protect him.
(Her name is actually supposed to be Tailtiu, but you know what, I don’t mind Taillte and Lachesis is hard enough to keep this constantly going.)
Sigurd: But you’re Duke Reptor’s daughter…
Taillte: I just can’t wrap my head around father’s schemes, you know? Besides, I love the priest!
Claude: Gods, give me strength to cope with this child…
(You’re okay, Claude.)
Claude: Anyway, I’ll rendezvous with your group once I’ve learned the truth. I pray we’ll both return home this day.
Sigurd: As do I, Father Claude. I can’t thank you enough.
And with that, Father Claude and his slightly dippy helper head off to talk to the gods, and we cut off here. See you next-
(DEIRDRE, THE SMALL CHILD SHOULD NOT BE ACTING MORE LOGICAL THAN YOU)
Deirdre: I know. I want you to look after Seliph while I’m gone.
Shanan: No way! I’m just a kid. I can’t look after a baby all by myself.
Deirdre: I won’t be long. I promise. Please, Shanan… I implore you…
(SERIOUSLY, DEIRDRE, I KNOW WE’VE BEEN JOKING ABOUT HOW DEADLY YOU ARE BUT THERE’S LITERALLY NO SITUATION WHERE SIGURD COULD EVER NEED YOUR HELP. STAY HOME.)
Shanan: Okay, fine. I’ll look after him. Just be careful out there and get back here as soon as you can, okay?
Deirdre: Thank you, Shanan. I’m sorry, Seliph, I’ll be back for you right away.
(FUCK)
Deirdre: Oh? Who are you? … Wait, how do you know my mother?
Manfroy: Kehehehehe… the day of your rebirth is upon us. Through my black magic, the slate of your life will be cleansed, paving the way for your true husband… your fate was written the day you were born. There’s no use in fighting destiny.
Deirdre: Wh-what are you doing?! Stop it! No! … … Aaaah… Sig… u…r…
……………….

Who are your favorite FE4 characters so far? Mine are Deirdre, Ayra, Noish, and Lachesis! (throw down some of your favorite ships too 👀)
Ohhh! Great taste! 😍 I love that Noish made it up there. ☺️ He has like one dialogue in the prologue chapter, but in my head he’s so lovable. 🥰
Thanks for the question! This is a fun (and hard) question for me. Every time I start to answer I’m like, “Oh but I like so-and-so too… aaaa….” I tried to pick out 4 like you but I couldn’t ;’D
Faves that makes my heart go HNGGHHHH 💗
Lex, Azelle, Lachesis, Finn, Ethlyn, Quan (Sig is such a sweetheart too, love him 🥰)
Not on 2nd gen yet but special mention to: baby Shannan (and Oifey)
Hot + Strong units 🔥💪
Fury (Erinys), Lewyn, Ayra, Brigid, Jamke, Eldigan (not strong enough tho, eh?)
GORGEOUS design 😍
Deirdre, Tailtiu (maybe it’s maybelline, or maybe it’s because their hair is absolutely to die for)
Not sure where to put him, but special mention to Dew for single-handedly funding my army and being an all-around sunshine. ☀️
Fav ships too? (You spoil me 🥰) For this one I do have a clear favourite:
Ethlyn x Quan 😭😭😭🩷💞💗💞🩷💘
Runner-up: Deirdre x Sig
For the ships you can control, so far I like:
Lex x Ayra
Azelle x Tailtiu
Edain x Jamke, Edain x Azelle
Lachesis x Finn (two of my faves 💞)

Imagine Ethlyn x Eldigan
This feels like the same problem with Lachesis x Sigurd. I don't think the age gap is that extreme because I think Ethlyn is around age 20, so five years younger than the trio, but I don't think their personalities would mesh well. Eldigan is too serious for her. Maybe she might like that she doesn't have to nag him too much, but the personality connection isn't there...

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?- I mean...look at my icon. S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)- I have alluded to this before but in one of my works I have the elemental magic swords be used as marriage proposal. Alvis gives Azel the Flame Sword. Reasoning that if Azel is willing to risk his life for Edain, Azel should very least be given something to demonstrate his feelings for her. Tiltyu steals the Thunder Sword because when she goes off with Claude because he the “one.” Lachesis is given the Earth Sword by Eldigan. and then he leaves off to his fate by the hands of Chagall. I think it’s pretty clear what Eldigan is trying to say. X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.- I have less about tropes I LOVE and more so just don’t dislike.

something worth fighting for
@astrabladed · continued (x)
His eyes following Ayra’s Eldigan nods in understanding. From afar, Shannan’s silhouette almost blurs into the one of Lachesis, into what he imagines Ares will look like one day. He might not be close to princess Ayra but he hears the hope in her voice. And it’s in times like these that hope might just be what counts the most. It’s an easy thought for him, of course, who still calls Nordion his home and can return whenever his duties allow him to.
“You are stronger than you give yourself credit for.” Eldigan’s gaze is earnest when he turns his attention back to Ayra. “And you are right. There are times where we cannot afford to waver.” Not when so many lives are riding on it.
“He will make a fine king. And much of that is thanks to you, Lady Ayra.”

Lol Julia's backstory from what I recall is like, peak Fire Emblem incest messed up-ness
x
All the main characters in Jugdral are related to each other.
Lachesis's daughter's husband's cousin is Seliph.
Reinhardt is in love with Julia's dad's half-brother's wife's niece, who is in love with Julia's twin brother (Seliph is their half-brother on their mother's side, and the "brilliant tactician" Reinhardt talks about at base is the twins' half-brother on their father's side)
If you really want to go full circle: Eldigan(Lachesis's half-brother)'s son's wife's brother's wife's cousin's husband is also Seliph.
(Assuming the relatively canon pairings of Azel x Tiltyu, Nanna x Leif, Ares x Lene, Corpul x Patty, Lana x Seliph)
x
Lets not forget had the tragedy of Jugdral saga never happened, Leif's older sister had a hots on Leif's adopted father
x
Honestly Fire Emblem is just Too Extra
#Seliph and Julia can also end up together#as in a brother and sister can be paired#I'm reading a thread on Julia because she's one of my best FEH units and it is a wild ride my friends#tw: incest
