I decided for the sake of my own health, I’m going to remake my blog. This time, it’s privy only to mutuals.  I just can’t take it anymore.  I’m going to keep this blog here as it is, for archival purposes. But the new blog will be elsewhere.

I finished Olberic's Chapter 2. While it is very standard RPG character arc flair, it still is a compelling story. Olberic wants answers, but how does this relate to his profession or even his purpose in life now that his leige and kingdom are destroyed?
It's pretty good.
Now gotta grind the whole crew to their apt to face their next chapters.

I finished Alfyn's Chapter 2, and all I'm going say is that Alfyn is what the medicine should be. I don't expect all medication to be free, but I should expect that human life is intrinsically worth preserving and as such it is should not be FINANCIALLY UNREASONABLE to acquire medication to keep living.

I finished Ophilia's Chapter 2. It's super sweet. Literally everything Ophilia does is represenative of how a fictional religious person should be. It's a core part of their character, it directly influences their actions, but it's not overt and it's on a level of relatability that anyone can connect to regardless of one's personal feeling of religion.

I finished Cyrus Chapter 2 and I'm not really liking how often his appearance gets brought up and it's the ability to "pick up girls" when Cyrus isn't interested in romance. Like, all of this reeks so bad.

The Maya however actually are ancient.
The earliest occupation of the Yucatan points to 2600 BC, the earliest settlements are dated to 1800 BC, and the first Maya cities emerged in 750 BC.
Howrver the first major Mesoamerican civilization were the Olmecs who's culture, religion and writing (?) deeply affected the Maya. This evidenced by fact Olmec glyphs deeply resembed Mayan writing, and predate the earliest known writing systems by the Maya.
Then there Teotihuacan and the Toltecs who very much shrouded in mystery. No writing. A lot of contradictory oral tradition...oh boy.
The Ancient Aztec civilization.
By ancient you mean it only lasted 97 years. The entire Aztec Empire lasted less than a century when the Spanish arrived.
If you’re talking about then everyone who fits under the term “Aztec,” as in the people who speak the Nahuatl language and partake in Nahua culture then really they’re only about 500 years at most.
Also again technicalities, but the Aztecs wouldn’t have called themselves “Aztec”. They would have called themselves Nahuatlacah (Nahuatl speaking people or more literally “People With Clear Speech). Or they would have called themselves in affliation to their alteptl (city state). This becomes important because who actually ran the Aztec Empire? The Nahua tribe, the Mexica. That’s why the country is called Mexico.
So this becomes confusing if you need to differentiate between the Pre-Colombian Mexicans and Modern Mexicans. So Aztec was used because its just easier. Using the legendary ancestral homeland of all the Nahua people without having to specify city state or even necessarily a point in time is convenient.

Quezta-co-Ah-tl. Not Quetza-co-AH-TUL.
The TL is a unique sound exclusive to Nahuatl. You make it by pushing your tongue to the roof of your moth and blowing air out to the side. It sort of makes a kind hybrid t/k sound.
I don't really fault people for trying to pronounce both the TL, but in Classical Nahuatl, it's an important distinction because the accent is on the penultimate syllable. Also even modern speakers will drop the sound and use a T or an L. This is due to Spanish influence when Nahuatl was written down in our Latin alphabet.

Kaga: Ah yes, Lenster is Italy and Thracia is Spain.
Me, a vindicative fuck with little impulse control: Lenster is Europe as a whole, and Thracia is Latin America.

Me writing Ethnia POV prologue chapter.  Me, tired: Okay, Ethnia is more superstitious than Tailtiu or Bloom. This ergo gives me an excuse to lowkey include the myths of the Cihuatetos and Xtabay into the worldbuilding of the Manster District.  Also me: YOU CAN’T JUST FREELY INCORPORATE THESE MYTHS INTO JUGDRAL.  Also me, but impulsive: FUCK IT, DO IT.
