Truth, Time and History
Artist: Francisco Goya y Lucientes (Spanish, 1746–1828)
Date: Unknown
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: Nationalmuseum, Stockholm, Sweden
Description
History sits nude on a rock in the front center of the painting, holding a white quill with an open book in her lap. Wrapped around her waist is a green cloth, and another book lies open at her feet.
Time appears behind History, to the right. He is an elderly, bearded man holding an hourglass. His face looks upward so that most of the details of his features are obscured from view. Time bears large, white wings that extend outward, off the canvas on the right and on the left, behind the body of the third figure, who he grips by the arm.
There are conflicting interpretations of the identity of the woman dressed in white on the left of the painting. Most often labeled Truth, she faces the viewer with her breasts partially exposed, holding a scepter in her left hand and a gray book in her right.[citation needed]
The background of the painting is light on the left behind Truth and dark on the right side surrounding Time.

Oedipus and Antigone
Artist: Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg (Danish, 1783–1853)
Genre: Mythological Art
Date: 1812
Media: Oil on Canvas
Collection: The National Museum in Stockholm
Description
In this painting of Oedipus and Antigone from 1812, Eckersberg presents a doting and concerned Antigone and an elderly Oedipus who is visibly very frail. Oedipus nonetheless shoulders the burden of carrying some heavy clothing on his back, while Antigone walks more freely, albeit while expending energy tending to her father. I love the bright colours in this scene, but also the way Eckersberg manages to capture the melancholy of both characters and the tenderness between them. On they go, in sadness, across the bridge.
In Greek mythology Antigone is a Theban princess and a character in several ancient Greek tragedies. She is the daughter of Oedipus, king of Thebes; her mother is either Jocasta or, in another variation of the myth, Euryganeia. She is a sister of Polynices, Eteocles, and Ismene. The meaning of the name is, as in the case of the masculine equivalent Antigonus, "in place of one's parents" or "worthy of one's parents".

This was going to be the title screen, but as I was putting the finishing touches on it I decided it to too busy to be a title screen. But! It still is a great piece of stand alone artwork that gives a good look at our protagonists, Jody and Bobby-Jo
This is for my game Nuclear Ash Farm. If you want to know more about it check out my pinned post.

Prince Charles Louis of the Palatinate with his Tutor Wolrad von Plessen in Historical Dress
Artist: Jan Lievens (Dutch, 1607 - 1674)
Date: 1631
Place Created: Netherlands
Medium: OIl on Canvas
Collection: The J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, CA, United States
Description
Wearing a gold medallion around his neck, an elderly man leans forward and extends a hand towards a youth who sits in front of a book. The man looks neither at the boy nor at the large open volume but instead gazes sympathetically at the viewer. Wearing a laurel wreath upon his head and dressed in a golden yellow robe with a richly embroidered cape, the daydreaming boy stares off into the distance.
Jan Lievens, who shared Rembrandt's interest in historical portraits featuring characters in fanciful costumes, here depicted Prince Charles Louis of the Palatinate being taught by his tutor Wolrad von Plessen. Previously thought to be a biblical depiction of Eli instructing Samuel, current research reveals that these figures were meant to allude to the classical figures of Aristotle instructing the young Alexander. Both Prince Charles Louis and Alexander the Great were about fourteen years old when they received instruction from their respective mentors.

The official received us with a very grave face and showed us into a sitting-room, where an exceedingly unkempt and agitated elderly man, clad in a flannel dressing-gown, was pacing up and down. He was introduced to us as the owner of the house – Mr. Horace Harker, of the Central Press Syndicate.

If anyone wants to help, we need it badly.
I am living with them and we lost over $4000, we need to gain it back in some way since the scammer took more then that. The money is for a new place and anything we need to move.
